It comes with 3 guards, but they're all extremely shallow. If you like to keep your beard longer than about a quarter of an inch long, this won't work for you. You also have to go slow and back over areas to get all the hair. The foil guard is basically useless and doesn't work at all. This is recommended for those who like to keep the scruffy look, but not for those who actually have a beard they want to keep trimmed.
