I guess for $20 you can't get much cheaper! It feels cheap for sure not very sturdy and really doesn't trim very well at all.

I was pleasantly surprised at how well the Philips Norelco Multi Groomer Series 3000 performed during my testing period. I am a balding man, and like many balding men, my fashion-forward appearance is a nicely shaved head with a crisp, well-groomed beard. I have a slight obsession with grooming products for a man with no hair, and over the years, I have owned or tested most manufacturers out there. I have said numerous times that I typically just always come back to Philips Norelco products since they work and are normally reasonably priced. This Series 3000 falls right in line with my school of thought. Out of the box, the first noticeable distinction is that the device is super light and equally smaller in stature than its counterparts that I currently own. The unit comes with several peripherals that you probably would not find at this price from any bracket competitors, so that is a nice feature. They included the ear hair clipper, which I honestly find useless but that must just be my opinion because Philips almost always includes it. I am also not someone who is going to use an electric groomer while my face is wet, the device is wet, or both. The unit says water resistant though. The Series 3000 has gone back to what I would call a standard Philips power plug. The standardization is an added surprise as well because I have noted before that Philips will just randomly change the accessories, heads, and power cords throughout its varying models. As an avid Philips Norelco user, it has been annoying at times when I have to change my look because the new shavers’ number 5 is different than the previous one’s number 5. Well, I guess Philips figured that out, and this latest 3000 offers the exact same head, accessory clip, and power cord as last year’s models and offers users like me a new library of choices. Huge fan of this! Using the 3000 is clean, and for a small device, it offers exceptional power but, more importantly, power consistency. I am one to not charge my units that often but use them almost daily or every other day. For an entry level groomer, I was impressed when the unit died (from me purposely not charging it) and was basically at full clip the entire way until then. My only complaint would be the power on and off button being a sliding switch. Due to the excellent manufacturing, the slider is hard to slide up and down for the on-off function. Which is amplified by the fact that the unit is small and light. As a man with big hands, it is a bit displeasing but not a deal breaker during use. At its price point, the Philips Norelco Multi Groomer 3000 is an excellent choice. It provides a precise and sharp cut and is effortless to use and maintain.

I've been using a more expensive electric shaver to groom my beard for a while. It basically just always has the guard attached and I rarely use the dedicated shaver side. Then I also have an extra trimmer for my nose. Replacing both with this one tool is great for me. I can charge and leave a single trimmer out with 1 or 2 attachments and stow the rest away. I've been enjoying it so far. Setup is as easy as you've expect. You plug it in if it needs to charge and trim away. Guards attach pretty intuitively. It took me a couple minutes to figure out how to remove the trimmer head and attach the nose/ear trimmer but that was just because I wasn't sure and didn't want to break it. After I figured it out, it's really easy to pop them off and attach a new different one. The cut is as I would expect. It's easy to maintain my beard length with the guards and when I need to clean up the edges, just popping the guard off works great. The nose hair attachment also works probably better than my dedicated nose hair trimmer I was using before (even though the mechanisms look pretty similar). I don't have a really high maintenance beard or anything, so I don't know if this would be enough for someone with a full on routine (although I can't personally see what else might be needed). For me, it does everything I need it to well. If I had to pick something that I'm not the biggest fan of, it's the little bit of white grease inside the different heads. It just feels too exposed like it could eventually make a mess somehow. Either by changing the heads too often or... something. It's not a big thing but I noticed right away after removing the head for the first time that some of the grease was left on the motor shaft and it stuck out to me right away. Other than that tiny thing, I've been a fan. If you need to quickly groom your beard/nose/ears and don't want to juggle a bunch of different tools, this might be for you. I found it affordable and it does everything I need without needing to charge/maintain multiple gadgets.

This is a rather complete little kit, the little trimmer itself comes partially charged, so if your in a rush you can just use it out of the box, but I recommend charging it first. That said, in the box you get a range of attachments from all the way down at 1mm and up to 16mm, 7 in total. 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 12, and 16. respectfully, in addition, an alternate cutting head with a narrower cutting area for detail work, and a nose hair trimmer attachment for those with jungle vines creeping from the cave. Changing and removing attachments is made simple, and only requires a bit of upwards pressure from under the teeth of the cutting head, and for the nose hair trimmer the same location of pressure works, no tools, or tricks needed. They hold in place firmly enough and despite how easy they are to remove I didn't experience any accidental removals during use, which was an initial concern. While it does advertise itself as a beard and hair trimmer, I wouldn't trust this to handle a crop of thick heavy hair without bogging down it's small motor. It should handle touching up on these hair types fine after the bulk of the work is done with more beefy trimmers though. My only complaints are with the included cleaning brush and storage bag. The brush is tiny, and it's handle is all of an inch long, I expect I'll lose this before too long, and the storage bag that's included is made of a material that feels kind of like the paper-like cloth an airline complimentary pillow is made of. So if it gets dirty and you need to wash it, don't expect it survive a full wash cycle. I feel they could have afforded to include a soft cloth bag that would give off a better impression.

The Philips Norelco Multigroom 3000 fills a niche that I think is often overlooked in personal grooming. Having used a few different products over the last 5 or 6 years that have a more narrow width and more size options at shorter lengths, the Norelco Multigroom 3000 is a decent upgrade in a few areas, and actually lower cost than 2 models I've used previously, as well. First, by virtue of the narrow cutting width, you get a decent selection of the proprietary guards that fit this trimmer. One adjustment for me was learning which millimeter guard matches the traditional "#2" and "#3" guards - not difficult to ask your favorite voice assistant for that before you get started cutting. I found the 7, 9, and 12 mm guards worked best for my #2-#4 preferences. I used the Norelco for my beard, sideburns, and around my ears with these guards, and I felt it gave a nice even cut without pulling or missing hairs. I also tried the nose trimmer attachment and found it works well. The Norelco Multigroom 3000 also includes a super narrow detail trimmer blade for cleaning up around areas that you want more precision. I was able to use the trimmer several times in the last week without having to charge the battery from the initial charge it shipped with (that I assume is around 50%). For the purpose of this review, that's enough for me to assume this has plenty of battery life without needing to stay tethered to the wall constantly. Overall, this seems like a quality trimmer set that has already replaced two devices in my bathroom drawer (the nose hair trimmer and detail trimmer). Happy to recommend the Norelco Multigroom set to anyone after this experience.

This is a great beard and hair trimmer that works very well! The attachments all snap in and out easily, making cleaning and changing them simple. You can also clean these with water, making it even easier if you have time. I did not use this to trim hair off my head, just for beard/mustache trimming. This trimmer comes with a number of guards, which I didn't use for this review. I have a decent sized beard and just use the main attachment to get rid of dead ends. There is a precision attachment which worked ok from my use. I also have curly/wavy beard hair, so you might have better results than I did. I also don't have many areas to fine tune, so you can take that criticism with a grain of salt. The device itself is nice and lightweight compared to my old Philips that I have had for about 15+ years. There is a little pouch that comes with this to store everything. It's a nice material, but not heavy duty and I can see this tearing in the future due to extended use. The one thing I wish this came with was an electric shaver attachment. My old Philips has one and I'll be keeping that around to use in the future. Overall, this is a great product and I'm hoping it lasts as long as my old one!

Bathroom counterspace is a precious commodity in my bathroom. If I can find a machine that can do the job of several, and do it well, then I am all for it. Such is the case with this Phillips Norelco. What I like the most out of this groomer is that its attachments are accurate compared to my full-sized trimmer. My previous multitool groomer was a much shorter length cut compared with the same number attachment on my full sized. Oops! But this is accurate. With my hair and head shape, there's a big difference between using a number 3 and a number 4. Glad to see it consistent with larger machines. The blades cut true and consistent with no tugging or pull. I can get results with less passes and therefore less skin irritation. The attachments are very easy to remove and snap on with no risk of falling off. The nose hair trimmer does a better job than my stand-alone nose trimming device. The battery lasts a nice long while. So far, I have only charged it one and about a week later it hasn't shown any sign of slowdown. This all-in-one is going to permanently replace my larger and smaller machines because I found myself using them less and less.
