Close, comfortable shave on the first try.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Norelco 2500 is an excellent dry/wet electric shaver. The descriptions online didn't mention that it's wet capable, but it's in the manual and I can confirm first hand. I'm coming from years of using a traditional blade razor and had bad luck with my last and only other electric razor. Supposedly, you need to use a shaver consistently for 3 weeks for optimal results as hair adjusts to the new cutting pattern, so I wasn't expecting much on my first shave. Boy was I wrong. It's exactly what I envisioned the first time. Something I can walk around the house doing, or casually while sitting in traffic. Maybe while pacing around the office, brainstorming my next lunch. It's cordless, fully charges in an hour, and gave me a baby smooth shave on my first time. I didn't even have to spend long, just a few minutes and my face was baby smooth. It even has a pop up trimmer for sideburns and edges, but it was a bit of a struggle to get a close shave with it on my sideburns. It did better shaving upward, but still not as close as the main shaving element with the 3 flex heads. I can live with that. The 2500 is washable, quick charging, and offers a very close and comfortable shave. If you've had bad luck with electric razors before, definitely give the Norelco 2500 a try.

Best Razor for the $$$$
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So I have to admit that this razor is amazing! I had two before this one. I had a fancy self cleaning one and a cheaper one that’s still more expensive. This one does all you need. Shaves, cleans easy and has an amazing charge. You can’t go wrong with this razor. It shaves better than ones 3x the money.

Inexpensive Version of Old School Triple Rotary
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The 2300 S1211 shaver is a competitor in the market for men's rotary shavers. The price falls about where the average is for cordless rechargeable shavers. This one is lightweight and comfortable. It took a good 6 hours to charge it before using it the first time. The first time I used it I applied slightly too much pressure to one cheek and gave myself a bit of redness (I have very sensitive skin and knew to take it easy but got carried away.) The tiny blades inside the heads are sharp, and you just need to let it glide across the skin and do it's job. You just pop the head open and it flips out, allowing you to clean it under running water. It didn't come with a manual or anything like a cleaning brush (just a small AC charger), so you need to look at all the info on the box before throwing it away. It would have been nice to have a little manual to save. It did give a pretty good close smooth shave.

Ok but not great

Philips Norelco Shaver 2500
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So I've received this Philips Norelco Shaver about 2 weeks ago and have been putting it through its paces. I have used this as a wet an dry shaver and it has worked flawlessly without any hiccups. It has help with cutting down on razor bumps that I typically get from using a razor. It offers a close shave as the 3 flex-hinge shavers glide across my face. It leaves my face very soft and smooth. It charges fairly quickly and also operates while charging. By far one of my most favorite shavers to date. Once done shaving, just pop open the lid to rinse or brush out the remnants of that 5 o'clock shadow. On the back of the shaver is a nice trimmer that can trim and edge up beards, moustaches, and/or goatees. One thing I love about Philips shavers is most of them use the same charging adapter, which I have multiple of. Very good shaver by a very good company that has been around for a long, long time.

Great Razor
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very nice budget electric shaver. Lightweight and its ergonomic design fits really nicely in my hand. Great shave, I already own it's bigger brother so my face is already accustomed to shaving with an electric. This razor won't disappoint with the closeness I've had while using this over the past week. Seems to hold up towards the 40 min time claimed. I plugged it in again prior to (after @27 min of use). As with anything battery powered ymmv. This a great razor to use as a daily razor the only thing different I personally prefer is a more obvious battery charge indicator found on it's bigger brothers for use while traveling.

Great value & great shave
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've owned several Norelo shavers throughout the years. I've found them to be solid, reliable and they offer a very comfortable & close shave. The shaver feels good in your hand. The ergonomics for this model have evolved since my last Norelco shaver. The wet/dry feature is great as I find I get a much closer shave when I use it in the shower. I haven't ever tried a shaver in the shower, but it is definitely built for this. The styling is also great with the blue, black and silver stripe. Compared to more expensive shavers, I believe this Norelco offers a great value and shave for the money.

Good shave
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this shaver for my husband who broke his collar and needed a light weight shaver. This shaver has 4 D Flex heads and is fully washable. John said “I tried the razor and it did a reasonably good job. Much better than previous electric razors that I have owned. The cost was not excessive and I think I’ll be satisfied with the razors ability to provide an acceptable shave.” Be sure and follow the instructions for the first-time charge. Also note that it takes 21 days for your beard to adjust to a new shaver. He would recommend this shaver.

Fast charging & convenient quality shaver
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Really impressed with the bang for the buck with this device! Shaver consistently provides a very clean, baby-butt smooth shave; basically as close as an electric shaver can get to your skin. Need to trim up your stache or sideburns? No worries - a pop up trimmer that works great is on standby to get you cleaned up for that hot date, or just another day at the office. The thing cleans up super easy as it is fully washable, and includes a handy dandy storage pouch. Built to last - great stocking stuffer!

Not bad at this price point
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First off I'm a shaving cream and razor guy. I still use an old Trac II razor and find my blades at the local dollar store. I rarely use an electric razor, but for touch up, sideburns, and a quick shave, it's nice to have a decent electric razor on hand. That said, my old razors still work, but they could use a tune up and/or a new set of blades. When the chance to get a new Philips razor came, I jumped at the chance. This is a low end basic electric razor. I took it out of the box, where they seemed to go overboard on the packaging, but I figured it out. I plugged it in overnight to get a full charge and set off to see how it performed. I shaved yesterday so I had a days growth on my face. It wasn't bad, but it cast a shadow. I'll say that this electric did a great job mowing down the stubble and leaving my face smooth. I didn't use any oils or creams, before or after and I didn't have any razor burn. That could be because the blades are new or because it just glides that easy. I used my free hand to stretch the skin in a few places under the jaw line and cheeks, but overall it just did the job to my satisfaction. I like the fact that I can clean it with tap water. Also the blades don't fully remove from the body. There's a hinge on top to swing it out of the way, but you don't end up dropping it on the floor or in the sink. It has a nice thumb grip under the blade heads and it's lite and well balanced. The package comes with the charging cable, a cover for the blade head and the razor. At this price point, it doesn't include a cover which would have been nice to keep the razor looking new. Lastly, I forgot to mention the pop up trimmer. It works...not great, but it will get the job done. Overall I knew the price point and had an idea of what it would be capable of and it surpassed those expectations. If you're in need of an economical electric razor, this could be a good option for you to look at.

Nice budget razor
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For the price this is a nice razor. The shave is clean & close. Any shortcomings are really just in the features area. 8 hour charge time with a 35 minute run time is not exactly ground breaking. The pop open head for fast cleaning is nice. But like anything, you get what you pay for. If you want a good clean shave and are not bothered by the charge/run times and don't want to spend much, then you can't go wrong.

First electric shaver - Not disappointed
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my first Electric Shaver and so far I like it. I was quite impressed with how close of a shave it gives. I figured there'd be stubble, but it was surprisingly smooth.Another thing I was surprised by was the weight. This this is super light. It's super easy to clean and fully water proof. So after a shave, I just pop the top, shake out the hair and run it under the faucet. Pretty simple. It's a great shaver.

Nice Shaver
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I received my Razor and got it charged all up. I used oit and found it to be good shaving and no irritation. This will be my go to traveling razor as it is compact enough and does a great job. It is easy to clean up with just some warm water. the heads arrear to be easy to change should I need to do that at any time in the future. The replacement heads are very inexpensive compared to some othe models

||Posted . Owned for 10 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Not very good. You would be better off shaving with a spoon but to be fair I have had to use it in a pinch and it did the job, just not a good job.

Good Shaver with Poor Clipper
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Philips Norelco Shaver 2300 gives a great shave day-after-day. I've always been pleased with Norelco shavers and this is no exception. I like the ability to easily clean it under the faucet, let it dry, and keep it clean and at optimal functionality. There are some minor changes to the grip which makes it feel even more substantial. However, the trimmer is sub-par on my unit. It did not clip my mustache / beard nearly as easily as my earlier Norelcos have done. I had to work at it. Bottom-line, I will not use the clipper on this model. Thankfully, I also have a Norelco beard trimmer that works great. Because of this, I cannot recommend this model. It may be that my clipper is an anomaly. If so, then this would be great.

Not as great a Shaver as 10 years ago
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is not my first Norelco electric shaver. I've been using them for 15 years now. My most recent one was purchased about 10 years ago. A couple years after purchasing that one I switched online razor clubs and felt like using blades and lotion was getting me a better shave. I was interested in coming back to an electric shaver so that I could have more of a quick and convenient shave experience as my house is full of kids and I want to be able to get in and get out of the bathroom. My hope was that the advertised fast charging and bettery life would be paired with evolutions in shaver technology so that I could have a smooth, burn-free shave in less time, without balm or shave gel and not have to worry about if my shaver had battery or not. My initial impression of the shaver was disappointing. The casing that Norelco uses now feels much lighter then 10+ years ago, in a plastic kind of way, it feels much more fragile. I also was unimpressed that the charging cord they provided was crazy long and seemed flimsy and cheap -- especially compared to the old charging cable I had for my previous models. Getting past these build quality concerns I still put it to my face daily for two weeks to see how the battery held up and how the shave feels. The battery is great -- it does charge quickly and gives you enough charge to make it a week without a power socket. This is perfect for throwing in you travel bag for a business trip, or just making sure that you can keep your face "Executive Meeting" ready every day of the work week. It also means you don't have to sacrifice a plug for the hair dryer(s) and electric toothbrushes and all other manner of gidgets and wazoos taht fill my bathroom counter. I didn't find the shave experience as good as I was hoping. Frankly speaking I pulled my 10 year old shave out of a drawaer and used it after using this one and my beard felt smoother and I didn't get any razer bumps -- which I did when using this new 2500 shaver. In hopes of improving the experience I did try using some face lotions a couple times -- NOT RECOMMENDED, any lotion at all on your face jams this shaver up enough to prevent functionality, and cleaning it out was a serious pain as well. Norelco has a 3500 model that is for wet/dry shave -- I suspect that is probably worth it as it would be designed to allow the use of lotion, shave gel or something. Given my experience during my extended trial I really can't recommend using this model however.

Since few read 2 and 3 stars.... here you go...
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First and foremost, the pop out trimmer is useless...completely ! The directions say to use the pop out trimmer to shorten a 3 or 4 day growth so the rotating blades can now shave your beard. The trimmer does not cut well at all !!! I had to use my old broke down shaver to do this part... And good luck getting the area right under your nose...too bulky...Having said all that, it does do a good job on the rest of your face and neck... worth a 3 star in the end for the price...

Nice Close Shave
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been blessed with really sensitive skin, so tradition razors have been a no-go for me. This Philips Norelco electric shaver does a great job giving me a nice close shave without the razor burn from traditional razors. I like the built in trimmer attachment for when I need to trim up my sideburns. Cleaning is a breeze with this razor as well, just pop the top and rinse! I definitely recommend this razor for someone on a lower budget that doesnt need all the extra bells and whistles.
