The Norelco 3000 Detail hair trimmer is a lightweight, waterproof grooming tool for unwanted hair, and it is quite good at its role. When you’re trimming nose, ear, and eyebrow hairs, you want your trimmer to cut hair without pulling. You want it to be easy to clean. And you don’t want something you have to return, because it’s not like anyone is going to restock it. The Norelco 3000 is a hair trimmer that you’ll want to keep. I’m a hairy guy, so regular maintenance is required. I’ve owned other hair trimmers, and they weren’t able to get the hairs in my nostrils or inside my ears consistently, and they always pulled the hair. In base form, the Norelco 3000 does a very good job of trimming nose and internal ear hair. Just as importantly, the 3000 does this without pulling, making it simple and easy to use. While my eyebrows don’t grow as quickly, the 3000’s eyebrow attachments allowed it to trim to a consistent, well-groomed length. Battery life is excellent – I’ve been using it for over a month, and the included battery is still going strong. If you’re looking for a low cost, high quality nose hair / ear hair / eyebrow trimmer, this is an excellent choice.

I found the Nose Trimmer 3000 does a good job at trimming hard to get at facial hair and especially hairs deep in the ear and nose. Design The top is rounded and the bottom. I found it very comfortable to hold and the design is great so it doesn't roll around. There are two trimming heads you can switch between, one that I would say is a more conventional design. It has two trimmers one on each side. The second trimming head has a circle with openings around it. There are also two attachments that go on the first head to use it for trimming eye lashes. Function This works great for in-ear, eye lashes, and in the nose. I first trimming head trims hair around the perimeter, inside the ear or nose. The second trimming head gets the other hairs that are attached deeper and coming straight-out. I thought it was a weird design but found that it works very well! I found it took a lot of passes to get my eyebrows trimmed well but it did the job. Compared to an older model I've been using an older model, also made by Philips Norelco, for many years and have really liked it. It's interested to see the differences. My old one had one trimmer head with one trimmer on the bottom of it, instead two - one on each side. The old one is rounded and would roll around a bit where the new one will stay where you put it. The eye-brow attachments are designed better on the new one, with a nice wing that makes them easier to hold and work with. The second trimming head on the new one makes a big difference for getting some of the hairs in the ears and nose more easily. I'm not sure why they changed the design of the first trimmer head. Having two trimmers, one on each side, is kind of nice but it has more of a guard on it which I don't think is necessary and is probably why, at least for me, it doesn't cut as close to the skin. The old one had a twist to turn on and off design where the new one has a switch. It's not that the twist one didn't work right, it worked well, but once in a while I would twist too far the one direction and then it would open the battery compartment. It was never a big deal but I like the switch on the new one better. Battery Life As I mentioned I have an older model. That one lasted months on an AA battery. I think I only changed the battery about twice a year, if that. I wouldn't be surprised if this one has the same, excellent, battery life or better! Summary This works well as a nose and ear trimmer. The second trimming head does a great job of getting hairs that are deep down and coming out as opposed to around the sides on the inside of the nose or ears. While I also prefer some of the design changes in the new one, I was disappointed that it doesn't cut as close as the old one I've used for years.

Not a whole lot to say about this "detail trimmer" aside from the fact that it works, uses an AA battery (not rechargeable) and is a bit intimidating on first use. Philips guarantees no pulling, and, in initial uses, it stands up to that guarantee. There is a Philips produced video online showing different ways to use and clean the device, but essentially, you can use either head for the ears and nose. But be careful. Use slow, cautious, deliberate movements--and don't push too hard. Some online reviews suggest you can get knicked but that hasn't happened to me yet. The tips can be washed. Leave the tip on the trimmer, turn the trimmer on and just put the trimming portion under running water. If you want to do eyebrows, there are two attachments (L and S--long or short, I would assume) and while I tried the L attachment, I stopped short because I was a bit nervous about how short it would trim my eyebrows. Being mostly plastic, I suspect it won't last forever, but as a first-time nose/ear/eyebrow trimmer it is priced right and gets the job done. I am disappointed the device did not come with a simple drawstring bag (or similar storage case) for the couple of loose components you'll need to keep track of. Best Buy's product specs suggests that it comes with a travel pouch, but I did not see one. The product specs page also suggested it has a 50-minute run time and takes an hour to recharge but it is NOT a rechargeable product. I'll probably still use the mini grooming scissors for strays, but the Philips Norelco Nose Trimmer 3000 is a good, inexpensive tool to have on hand for routine ear and nose hair maintenance.

multi trimmer for nose & ear hair

This nose hair trimmer works fine. It did take me a little bit to get used to it. So many devices these days have a rechargeable battery that once they die, you are probably going to just throw it away. This device actually uses a AA battery. I'm sure the battery will last a long time and once it dies, I can just replace it. So I actually like that it isn't rechargeable. This one has different heads so you can use it to trim your ear hair or brows. The heads come off and on easily and secure well. They are also waterproof, so you can run it under the water. It is very simple to use. There is an on/off switch and that is it. To turn it on you have to slide the on/off switch firmly. The only disappointment is that it does not come with any kind of a bag to hold everything in. With all the extra pieces, it would have been nice if it had a bag to keep everything together. That is my only complaint. If you are looking for a multi trimmer for nose and ear hair, I would recommend this one. I only marked it down since it really should come with a bag to hold everything.

Phillips has improved on their nose trimmer with the 3000. It has a shape that fits well in the hand and is comfortable to hold. It's easy to access the battery compartment. The on/off switch is placed where your thumb would naturally rest when gripping the trimmer and you feel a click when switching it on and off. It comes with two trimmer heads, two guards, and one battery. Regarding the trimmer heads, there is one for trimming ear hair and there is one for trimming your nose hair and eyebrows. Each head is easy to put on and remove. It also comes with two guards for the eyebrow and nose trimmer head which are easy to attach and remove. The trimmer is washable so it is easy to clean after each use. The motor is surprisingly powerful given that it is running on a single AA battery. Much more powerful than my previous Phillips trimmer. There is a night and day difference in the power of the motors. This is definitely an upgrade over my previous one. While using the trimmer I did not have any instance of discomfort from a hair being pulled as the trimmer cut smoothly. I'm happy with how far along Phillips has come with the power of the motor. This has made using the 3000 so much better than my previous Phillips model. If you are looking for a new trimmer then consider the Phillips Norelco Nose Trimmer 3000. With the improvements Phillips has made, I don't think you'll be disappointed with it's performance.

This is a pretty simple device, but it does the job. Opening the box, its pretty straightforward and even has separate tags to show you how to remove the cutting portion. Its battery operated so I needed to install that, but once that was done, it turned on and worked like a charm. Its not intended to be super fancy, but it does come with a guard to have two different lengths for trimming eyebrows as well as a rotary connection. I tried it on my nose first and it worked well, but it takes a bit of practice to get it angled right to not miss anything. I also tried the longest trimmer guard for my eyebrows. I never really needed them trimmed so I probably won't do it again, but it seemed to be pretty easy to do. I don't have any longer ear hair so I tried the rotary in my ear but it didn't seem to do anything so I just gave up on that one. I'm not sure how long the battery will last but its a standard size so I can travel with it if I want and not have to worry too much about not finding a replacement battery or lugging around a charger. Everything cuts well and with good protection so I’m not worried about cutting myself. What more could I ask for.

THIS... Is the Philips Norelco Nose Trimmer 3000 and my everyday go-to for all things facial and ear hair. I love it because it takes a double A battery and isn’t another thing that has to be plugged in and charged. It is very robust and versatile, I genuinely have never had a Norelco razor ever break on me before I lose them - and thanks to Best Buy they are always a quick trip away! I use this primarily for my ear hair and use the long trimmer vs the one used for the nose - but I use it for my nose as well. I really enjoy it, never tugs hairs and quickly eliminates the random bunches of ear hairs that pop up out of nowhere. The best part about the Norelco 3000 is that you can lose or leave it anywhere and it is so cheap to replace it is never really a problem, and a good enough product that you know you will be coming back for the same model again. I love that Best Buy is expanding further into self-care so I can keep racking up rewards, and for the more expensive shavers and lasers, a great return policy in case it doesn't quite work out! Another great Norelco product!

    Not Your Ordinary Trimmer

I've used detail trimmers before, but this things blows the others out of the water. Read the instructions! There are different heads for different types of trimming. I specifically got this one to replace an old one that had just broken. I only use it for trimming nose and ear hair. When I turned this thing on for the first time I will admit I was a little intimidated. You can feel the torque in this trimmer. I was a little concerned it was too powerful. But after a few passes I realized this trimmer is well built and strong. I also like the fact it is fully washable. No worrying about getting water in a part that can't handle water. There are two cons that kept me from giving the trimmer a five star review. First, with great power comes great noise! This trimmer is VERY loud. And that is especially noticeable when trimming in and around your ears. And secondly, given the fact that the trimmer has multiple small parts, it would have been nice if Philips splurged on a small storage bag for the trimmer and its accessories. But with all of that in mind, I would still highly recommend this trimmer over some knock off online purchase. You get what you pay for and you definitely get the quality Philips has shown over the years.

The Phillips Norelco Nose Trimmer 3000 is designed to make trimming nose, ear and eyebrow hair quick and easy. In the box is the base unit, battery, a cleaning brush, a rotary trimming head, a bi-directional cutting head and two eyebrow guard/combs (one short, one longer) attachments for the bi-directional cutting head. The trimmer claims being fully washable which should make cleaning quick and easy. The unit comes with a two-year warranty and a 45-day risk free trial (money back guarantee). There is a no pull guarantee that mentions a protective guard and steel two sided blades. I have tried a number of both rotary trimmers, designed for nasal hair trimming, and straight blade trimmers, designed for various types of trimming in the past. Most I have used cut me almost right away. All of the rotary trimmers I used in the past had pulled hair out or had hair jam the mechanism requiring me to pull the hair jammed in the clipper out by the root. Neither of the trimming heads on this trimmer have jammed, pulled or cut me. The rotary cutter made short work of my nasal hair. Lately I've been using scissors on my nasal hair and no matter how much time I spend I see hair that I missed a day of two later. It's been 4 days, and the rotary trimmer missed no hair! The manual mentions using the rotary clipper head for trimming the ear. My ear canal is much too small for the rotary cutter to be inserted. Inside of my ear, I often feel hair but can't see it, I struggle to pull it out with tweezers or my fingers and dare not blindly attack with scissors. The straight blade trimming head quickly and easily trimmed around my ear canal opening and the notch over my ear lobe with just a couple of swipes. I haven't tried the eyebrow attachments. My brows are thin and slow growing. My barber trims a few rogue hairs a couple of times a year so for now, I'll leave good enough alone. I love this trimmer; it lives up to its word as far as no pulling. Besides no pulling, this is the first straight blade trimmer that hasn't cut me. Finally, a trimmer I will regularly use!

I had my old nose trimmer for about 7 year and it's still going strong. I was kinda doubtful that there could be any significant improvements to a spinning blade in cone but I figured I'd give it a shot. Boy was I wrong. The Philips has quite a bit more torque than my old trimmer, meaning there's less pulling and tugging. The hole for the hairs to enter is a bit bigger so I spend less time going over the same area than I used to. The larger area and more powerful motor cuts the time in half. Granted, cutting nose hairs isn't that much of a time consuming job. The attachments are nice but the clipper really can't handle facial hair thicker than eyebrows (or at least my facial and eyebrow hairs). I think the blade isn't wide enough to clip my stache hairs. I don't shave since I don't grow much facial hair so I was hoping this could replace my small mustache/beard trimmer, but I'm gonna have to hold on to them. Clean up is fairly easy. You have to take the clippers off since the base isn't sealed. My old ones could handle running water. The Philips is a great upgrade from my old trimmers.

I've used other rotary-type trimmers in the past and every single one of them was a hair-pulling nightmare. So when I say Philips' no-pull guarantee, and the low price, I decided to give this one more chance. My wife tried it first, on brow and nose hair. She said it worked "OK" but it did not trim close enough. It didn't pull hairs, but she said she would still need to use a scissors for the final result. Then we took advantage of the water clean-up ability of the trimmer, which was very handy and worked as expected. And it was my turn.... I had the opposite experience. For me, the trimmer worked great. Plenty short cutting action. no pulling of nose hairs. Although I had to work up the nerve to try it because of previous bad experiences with rotary trimmers. Ultimately, this Philips trimmer worked as advertised. It's nice being able to have both a linear trimmer attachment along with the rotary attachment. And the easy to find and replace AA battery is more convenient than having it be rechargeable. You could always use a rechargeable AA battery if you wanted to.

I had a detail trimmer very similar to the Norelco 3000 for a number of years and it recently went out of commission. While this is similar, it is a little nicer. It seems to run a little faster and the attachments are a real plus. The flat blade is two sided and is good for trimming your nose, ears, and brows. The fact that it is two sided helps eliminate pulling. I always found that painful in the past. It has 3mm and 5mm trim blade guards that allow you to trim your eye brows and neck line. The guards protect sensitive skin by providing a protective barrier between your skin and the blades. The round cutter, can be used in place of the standard trimmer. It is designed for use in your nose. I use a combination of both of them to get my nose nice and clear of hair. The trimmer runs on 1 AA battery. (Included) I have no idea how long the battery will last, but I seldom had to change the battery in my old one. Cleanup is very simple. The device is water resistant and you just rinse it under running water to clean it. It's a nice trimmer and I would recommend it to my friends.

I got this product due to myself being a person who has to wear hearing aids and when you have to wear a pair those little hairs that tend to grow on the inside and outside your ear tend to get pulled into the ear when putting them in and man do they itch. Trying to yank those hairs with tweezers just isn't really safe to do around your ears with this item it's safer it has several attachments that you can use two of which are guards that clip on and stay on till you take them off. It works great for the nose hair and eyebrows also doesn't pull the hairs at all like some do, it actually cuts the hair. All in all I can't find anything for cons on this item as it does exactly what is said on the box it's a 100% for anyone in need of getting one. It's very lite weight runs off of one double A battery and can barely be heard at all if you do hear anything it is just a very low buzzing and when the hairs are cut and has one feature that I like it's washable which makes it easy to clean up! It would make a great gift for any man or for someone who's getting ready to graduate from collage

I've owned many Philips or Philips Norelco grooming tools. I actually currently own 3 different ones. I was pleasantly surprised by this little power house. I have always chosen rechargeable devices but after using this one and feeling the raw power of the horses as they surge through the engine....ok maybe not that powerful, but powerful enough that I am certain it is more powerful than my rechargeable Philips. I appreciate the ear and eyebrow options and while they work, I generally don't need them. The thicket of hair betwixt my nostrils however definitely needs a tool that can handle to job and this detail trimmer can do so with ease. The bottom line is that despite being powered by just one AA battery, this nose trimmer is well worth the money spent. We'll see how long it lasts and whether or not is has the life expectancy of the rechargeables I use...both of which are only 3 years old. One thing is for sure, Philips knows how to keep unwanted hair at bay, regardless of where it's growing.

Been using this for over a week now. It works as advertised, but it is average for these types of trimmers. Packaging was fine, no issues there. It also comes with attachments to do eyebrows also. Where it lacks in my opinion is there is no wow factor. It is made and feels like cheap plastic. I would be fine paying more for something that feels more solid and not thinking if I drop this thing and it hits a hard floor, then that's it, Ill have to go buy another one. At least it came with a battery which is always a plus. The motor on it gets the job done however. It's good for the nose, ears and eyebrows. The attachments were stubborn to get on and off, but that could also be because it's new and needs to be broken in a bit for everything to go on and off more smoothly. It is compact and fits easily inside a shaving kit and of course since it is battery powered, no unnecessary cables or charging docks. I would recommend it, as it isn't priced out of line or anything like that, but it's an average trimmer and for some, that woll work out just fine.

Guys this Philips trimmer is great for those spots where you have a wild hair or two. I’ve always been scared of nose trimmers (one snagged a hair once). This Philips trimmer is as practical as it gets. No doubt each of you reading are just wondering if it is worth it. It’s super light so your travel bag won’t have a lot of weight. The worst thing I have hated in the past is having a trimmer that weighs enough to make a difference in my luggage. I like the extra protective guards because I wasn’t aware that I could use the guards for my nose as well. They are easy to change out, clean, and use. I don’t have wild hairs in my eyebrows so when I attempted to trim there I quickly realized I didn’t need to use the trimmer there. If I’m honest I think it’s great for your face but if you find that wild should hair or a hair somewhere else, this trimmer will help make it disappear in a jiffy. It being battery operated doesn’t bother me. It’s sort of a relief that I don’t have another device to charge. Especially since it will be used one to two times weekly. The only downside is that you’ll need to make sure to keep track of the attachments since they are so small. That’s not tough but thought I would note it.
