In my opinion, this is a great trimmer for someone with facial hair. Reason: it is better at edging and trimming than it is at a close shave. It gets "satisfactory" close, but not "very" close. I have facial hair with fairly complicated edging and trimming involved and in the past have had to use a combination of electric trimers and regular razers to get the job done. This does it all by itself.
