A hybrid experience
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. One thing right off the bat - this product is not meant to replace a regular shaver (electric or blade). It mentions this right in the booklet. So, if you are wanting a baby smooth shave - this product is probably not for you. If, however, you are like me and have a beard - or even just like to sport a "stubbly" look - this product definitely IS for you! The oneblade pro is a hybrid between a regular blade and an electric trimmer. The battery goes from empty to fully charged in about 45 mins. Though, the booklet states it takes closer to an hour. On a full charge, you get roughly an hour and a half of run time, which imo is very generous. The only attachment you need (and the only one included, FYI) is an adjustable length guard. The one thing that struck me right away when trimming my beard was how precise it was on the first pass - no more "variable length beard" for me! Nor does the product tug and cause irritation. Taking the length guard off - you can use the product as a "shaver" to shave down to stubble. Again, very precise and no irritation whatsoever. Where there is a bit of a learning curve - you must shave against the grain. Otherwise, the hairs will not properly engage in the blade. I found this to be awkward at first - but quickly got the hang of it. Where this product truly excels, IMO, is its very precise ability to "edge" your beard (or mustache, etc). The product creates very clean lines and the unit felt good enough in my hand that I was confident that I wouldn't slip and cause a beard-astrophe. The only minor negative I can come up with is that the blade itself is disposable. You must replace it every 3 to 4 months. This however is a small process to pay to ensure a quality shaving experience. Definitely a quality product - and one that will be in my daily routine from now on.

Amazing Design - Just with more Power
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. From the first steps of unpackaging to setting it up on the charger, I was very excited to try this product out. Right off the bat, one of the biggest things I loved about this unit is that the battery percentage is displayed in an easy to read spot! All the previous trimmers I have had did not have this luxury, and I found myself in the middle of trimming only to find that the battery would die midway. Not a good thing - but having the display I found incredible. The attachment for length was also one of the best attachments for a trimmer like this. It snugly fit on top of the bald and the actual adjustment for length was so easily readable, and so easily adjustable. Not only that, the attachment stayed in place - I’ve had previous experiences where the attachment would push down or fall off in the middle of trimming and then it would cause issues! Not here! The only drawback, which is why I didn’t give it a full 5 stars is that the power of the shaving was a little weak. Granted I did put it to the test with my beard which had been growing for a good amount of time, but I found that I had to retrace the same area many times (especially in the thicker parts of the beard) in order to really get an even shave. I could see this not being as much of an issue if you aren’t into thicker hair, but I was a little disappointed. Nevertheless it cut evenly and it seemed pretty contained in terms of hair flying around as it cut. Overall a great unit, but I would expect to have to spend more time if you plan to put it to use in a thick beard. Otherwise a great product!

Great Trimmer
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had been using a normal triple head electric razor and a separate trimmer for years and had hoped to finally replace both those with this one product. Firstly, the actual visual appearance of the trimmer is great as it isn't big and bulky and is very sleek siting on my counter. The travel case is also a nice touch along with the charging stand. Upon first use though I decided to use the trimmer aspect and the variable lengths to see how this new system would work. I was impressed overall with how well it worked and definitely believe that if you would want this as a stand alone trimmer I would not fault you for that as it worked extremely well for that purpose. There are times though were I desire that close shave, which is why I had still previously been using an electric razor. When going for a clean shave with this product it did seem rather time consuming and I did eventually find myself going back to my old razor though. It was effective though in giving that clean shave appearance don't get me wrong there, but it did just take more time than I am used to. Overall, I definitely enjoy the look of the product and it`s ability as a trimmer as it worked exceptionally well. The clean shave look did turn out well also, however, at times it did seem that the clean shave process did seem time consuming. For the price though I definitely would recommend the product as it definitely works great in all respects and gets the job done!

OneBlade Pro
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great for when you don't want that baby soft face. It doesn't shave as close as a standard razor and that's what I've been looking for. I've used it both dry and wet and I liked using it better dry. They claim 4 months for the blades, I've only used it for a week so far so only time will tell on that part. I think overall its a great razor for it's intended purpose.

Small, Powerful, and Sharp!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was amazed for the small sized razor whether it would be powerful enough to cut through the coarse hair I have on my face. But the blades are sharp and cuts right through things without any tugging. No irritations on my skin and the blade is easy to clean. The battery life is amazing on it. Definitely worth the investment!!!

Gets the job done
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wanted a trimmer that I could use to keep a beard short... just a little longer than stubble. Was looking for something that could both trim and clean up the edges to get a nice clean look. This fits the bill and gets the job done. What I like: - Many adjustable settings to manage length. Can easily create a fade - Pop off the guard, and you can get a close shave that really makes it easy to trim around the upper lip, neck, etc., and keep the cheek area clean. What could be better: - still not as close as a regular shave with the guard off. I will continue to use the old standby for the neck. - Wish it had a vacuum to clean up the clippings. Instead they fall into the sink... a small hassle to keep the sink clean in the bathroom, but not a big deal. Overall, it's a great shaver and almost eliminates the need for a regular razor. It's my go-to shaver now in the morning, but I will keep my regular razor and shaving cream handy to get those lines really straight on the neck when necessary.

Best razor I have used
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I usually just use the razor from Harry's since it's affordable but I find this to be even better. It comes with an attachment but for me I don't need it. Shares off easily with little effort and the best part is its water resistance.

Sleek Solid Trimmer.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Unboxing the OneBlade Pro and holding it in my hand I get a strong sense of simplicity, sleekness and efficiency. It took about an hour to fully recharge. Build quality feels quite good and balanced. I really like the green/black color scheme. The LED battery indicator is great for showing exactly how much juice is left and adds to the already cool appearance. Razor blades on this reportedly last 4 months. Performance wise it surprisingly gives me quite a close shave for an electric. I need to grow out my beard to see how it performs on thicker shaves. I did not expect much from this trimmer upon receiving it but I am very content with its performance so far. It is a pretty solid sleek trimmer that won't replace razors quite yet but it gets closer to that dream.

Fair, but Philips has one better
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. In the shipping box Phillips did include a Welcome letter which attempted to realign expectations, likely due to earlier reviews which panned it as a shaver. With these expectations in mind, I gave it a try. First thing to do was charge it. The trimmer shipped with 0% charge but this was no big deal. To obtain a full charge was less than two hours. But the first surprise was that the “blades” were considered a consumable item. They do wear over time so you will need to buy more. Ah, the Shick marketing model is alive and well! You can use it with just the bare blade for super close trimming. Notice I did not say shaving? The bare blade gave me results similar to some electric razors that I’ve used in the past; but nothing beats a real wet blade and shaving cream. When using as a trimmer with the guard attached, the selection of trim lengths is adequate for most needs. For best results you MUST go against the grain. Passing over with the direction of your beard growth, it will not catch most of the hairs and trim little to nothing. But going against the direction of growth with give the intended results albeit with multiple passes. But this is not much different than other trimmers that I’ve used. Probably has more to do with how my facial hair grows, which is very directional. All things considered, this is an acceptable trimmer. But I was way happier with another Philips/Norelco product that I tried (and reviewed here). If you’re looking for adequate this would be a good buy. But if you want something much better, spend a little more and get the Multigroom Series 7400 Wet/Dry Trimmer and you’ll be much happier.

My new favorite trimmer
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was initially skeptical because I have tried numerous trimmers and shavers and have had mostly "ok" results. This changed after using the OneBlade Pro. Read the instructions and allowed it to charge before using. My first attempt to use the OneBlade was with the trimming comb. I keep my goatee neatly trimmer, so the trimming comb on the lowest setting didn't trim much hair. Once I took the trimming comb off, I was able to use it pretty well and get a better feel for it. What impresses me the most is the blade never nicked or scratched my face. The rest of my trimmers are now obsolete.

Good trimmer with OK shaver... Good Battery!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've used quite a few Norelco products for personal grooming over the years, but this one is the most interesting - It offers fine trimming, adjustable guarded trimming, and shaving in one device. The system is also quite simple: It consists of the trimmer itself, a charging base and power cord, and a single adjustable trim guard. The trim guard attaches durably and offers several levels of cut using universal guard levels common in trimmers and clippers. Using the device without the trim guard works great for precision trimming and shaving, but the shaving is a bit unusual, and only works somewhat, as its required method doesn't work well for an entire face shave. I attempted to use the shaving function with and without shaving cream/gel and in either scenario, it lacks a closeness required to feel fully shaven. Its almost a "stubble control" shave rather than a clean shave. It requires long strokes to shave completely, which aren't as possible on the smaller areas of the face. I also found that it was only really effective if pushed against the "grain" of hair, which again is challenging in most facial shaving scenarios. The battery life is exceptional, as I was able to use the device daily on a weeklong trip with no incremental charging, but based on your use your experience may vary. All in all, its a good product with an OK shaving use case. Not the integrated solution I'd hoped for, but a good and versatile trimmer nonetheless.

no for shaving your face
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.these are clippers, not a shaver. It shaves pretty close but not razor close. once you get past that, these work very well. I love the battery indicator, my old one would just slow down and die on me. my only 2 complaints is the head is much smaller than my old trimmer and having to replace the blades every few months may be a pain. Have to see in a few months

Attractive design, not the best!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I received the Philips Norelco OneBlade as a free sample in exchange for my review of the product. I have average thick beard with strong hair. I have been using many brands from low end to high end trimmers including other Norelco models for many years. For the first time, it gave me a wrong depth of thickness and had mis cut. I really had to do some extensive damage repair on my goatee to cover it up :D Depth adjustment dial is definitely fancy, but not accurate. Due to the new design of the blade on this trimmer, you need some really good practice to make it work nearly good. I had a bunch of nicks and cuts and had a lot of irritation. Other thing you need to consider is that, its blade need to be changed periodically as in the regular shaver thus adding up the overall cost over time.

Great Shaver, Horrible Trimmer
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I definitely bought this more for trimming my beard down and not for shaving it completely. The trimmer attachment is impoosible to use for any hair longer than a couple milimeters. On average, shaving with this thing takes me less than 5 minutes, but trimming down to the "6" setting after a month of not shaving, it takes nearly an hour to get everything right. Definitely a little let down

Twice Burned
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The first OneBlade successfully trimmed my beard once and only once. It never turned on again and had to be exchanged under warranty. The second OneBlade never even saw use, it broke during the unboxing. The materials these shavers are made from are cheap and flimsy, don't buy it. This product was a total disappointment.
