I had an older version of this before and this is the newer one I just bought. Need to verify how it works and will modify my comments.

Good basic razor. Should have spent more and got better. Not as strong a motor as my last Norelco but does the job.

I'm changed my mind after purchasing this and returned it for the Panasonic Arc5, which I really like.

bought for our 14 year old son, he likes it, but would be better if it had some kind of stand for it

An ok shaver, cheap, but doesn’t give you a close shave... For the price I guess it’s ok...

Philips Norelco - Rechargeable Wet/Dry Electric Shaver - Red undecided, too new too review.

I've been using wet/dry electric razors (multi-blade foil-type) for at least the last 11 years (after I got tired of paying for expensive replacement name brand razor cartridges). Many, many years ago, I had tried a rotary blade razor, but for some reason, it didn't work for me then. After using the same style for so long and wanting to try to find something that worked better on my neck, I decided to give this one a try. The AT811/40 model is in the mid-range for Norelco razors (their Series 4000) and is at a decent price point. The blades seem to be a step up from the entry razors as they are DualPrecision blades, with the normal rotary blade slots, but it also has two smaller foil areas for short hair. The head is fixed-pivot flexing to help follow your face contours somewhat. I will say that it is decently quiet (much quieter than my previous razor, but it does run at a much higher RPM - 10,000). It has a pop-up trimmer, but to me, either the design of the trimmer head isn't the best or because of the fact that it doesn't run at a high enough RPM, and it really doesn't work well for me when trimming my sideburns (my previous razor works much better in that aspect). A one hour full charge gives up to 50 minutes of use. It is wet or dry use, but I've only used it dry so far. The head pops open and can be rinsed out after use. The first time I used it, I had saved 2.5 days' worth of stubble, just to give it a good test. It did surprisingly well on my face, quickly taking care of it all, leaving it pretty smooth. Working along my jaw line and neck took a little more time, but did a fairly good job. The only thing, I experienced quite a bit of visible irritation near the bottom of my neckline. Subsequent uses over the next week still had irritation/bumps, but slowly improving (mainly as I am going over those areas less now, which isn't getting it as smooth). I haven't tried a wet shave with shave gel yet to see if it helps (went to dry shaving over 2 years ago). I will give the recommended 21 days before making a decision on returning to my previous razor. All in all, this seems to be a pretty good, decently priced electric razor.

A blade is just irritating for me now. This doesn't give a great shave but I am okay with the scruffy look.

Works alright. Gift for my teenage son. Used briefly then chose to use a real razor.

Works, just not as good as a cheap one I used before this. Little disappointed.

Philips Norelco, Just OK, not strong enough for my beard.

It doesn't work properly. If you want to switch to philips electric shaver, try 5500 series or higher, these work perfect.

Bought this to replace my previous razor, which was the same model that I had for many years. Figured I would replace it with a new one and hopefully that would improve battery life. Sadly, I feel like the battery life is significantly less and the quality of the shave has decreased drastically. For now, it will have to do until I find something better.

Feels cheap. But does a decent job at keeping the facial hair shaved low.

Takes way too many swipes to get a smooth shave. Misses stubble.

This was a good Razor it just didn't get my beard as close as I like with out spending a little more time on it
