This model works just as well, if not a little better. They didn’t mess with the formula. My absolute favorite thing about the razor is that I can shave fairly long stubble without having to use any water and there is no razor burn. Maybe that makes me lazy, but if I don’t have to tidy up a sink and rinse shaving cream off my face and hands then I’m all for it. Is it as smooth a shave as a good disposable razor? Probably not, but it’s darn close. And there’s no waste or need to buy razors again and again every few weeks. Worth the trade offs for me. If this one lasts as long as my previous Norelco, it will continue to pay for itself over time.

We recommend following a few simple steps below to get the best shaving result from your Norelco shaver.
1. Apply your favorite shaving cream if you’d like, or clean & dry your skin thoroughly before use if you prefer a dry shave.
2. Gently press shaver to skin so the floating heads can follow the contours of your face.
3. Move the shaver in circular motions across the face so to that the shaver can catch hairs growing in all directions. Be sure each shaving head is fully in contact with the skin.
4. If you alternate shaving methods, it may take more time to adjust to our Philips Norelco shaving systems.

Workhorse of a Shaver

I used this on two parts of my face, one with shaving cream and one without. I received no cuts or bumps. I'm actually very pleased by the quality of the shaver. Times like these when our barbers are not operating at full capacity and having to make an appointment is very inconvenient. It's nice to know you can get a razor close shave at home. It's even rechargeable so you can take it with you. Anywhere you travel. Really handy Electric shaver to have in your repertoire!

Most of that time I have used Norelco products. I think three times I tried a different brands and was not happy with the other products So when my last shaver started acting up and by the way it was 10 years old I went to buy another Norelco. I bought the shaver 4100 based on the reviews it had and I have had it about a week and it is great. I would highly recommend it for comfort and based on past experience with Norelco reliability. My only complaint is that it doesn't come with a case or pouch to store it in. I went on the Norelco website to register my shaver and couldn't find any case to purchase separately. But that may have been me or maybe Norelco's website that I really don't like. I thought it was badly designed and Norelco might want to give some thought to that. One other point I would like to make is that Best Buy is the place to go to purchase your product. The reason for that is because I found the same shaver on Walmarts website for $10.00 less and since I didn't want to deal with the crowds at Walmart I went to Best Buy and told them about it and they matched Walmarts price.
