    An Incredible Electric Shaver

The S9000 shaver gets its prestige title and status from two things: (1) the electric shaver itself - which, like the other shavers in the 9000 series from the past, is an incredible electric shaver, & (2) the charging mechanism which is a form-fitting pad. The charging mechanism is the noticeable upgrade here and is certainly responsible for the increase in price. And it looks fantastic; I love the charging mechanism (no matter what you call it). But you can't shave with a fancy charger. And while it's taking me and my whiskers a while to adjust to non-blade shaving (which, I am told, is normal), I'm completely sold on this razor. I have tried numerous electric razors over the years and always feel like I'm waiting for razor burn or a whisker pulled out - the first time I used this Norelco (dry), it was so quiet and smooth that it felt like nothing was going on - but I got a great even shave over every contour of my face. This razor is also designed for wet shaving (and shaving in the shower) - I haven't tried either of those. The kit comes with a nice sturdy travel case and includes a trimmer that works very well and doesn't feel like a trashy add-on (surprise). I know the price tag is hefty here - a lot of that is tied to the convenience of charging - but the razor is quite impressive!

The razor seems fine, however I just gifted it to my boyfriend a few day ago for his birthday. I was ver disappointed I did not receive any kind of paperwork like receipt or a return label or anything with the box wit my purchase. And for that matter the second much cheaper or was canceled by you with no explanation. For that reason I will not ever be purchasing from Best Buy.

This is the first time I opt for an electric shaver over normal blades. I can say I expected more especially from one so pricey with a name behind it. Maybe I am using it wrong or that is the standard at which they function.

This is the most beautiful, quiet electric shaver I have ever used. Opening the box was like opening a new cell phone box. The instructions included are in book form, easy to read, and can fit in the case. I charged it first, wirelessly on the Qi-Charger. It went from about 18% charge to 100% pretty quickly. I didn't keep a close watch on it, but it was fully charged when I got back to it about 3 hours later. I was able to charge my watch and my daughter's phone on the charger as well. The shaver has three power settings, but each one is quiet. I completely shaved my face and neck in just a few minutes, leaving my face feeling a little raw the first time. After about 6 more uses, I don't feel that way afterward anymore. Cleanup is very simple and easy to accomplish. This is probably another credit to the included instructions, though. I've shaved about 10 times (every other day) since I've started using it, and it is still above an 80% charge after the initial one.

Great Shaver for a Tough Beard

As a 45 year old male with a heavy black beard, I have been through my fair share of razors ranging from $50 to $350 and this razor is IMHO tied with my current razor of the same price as this PN razor (I currently own a different brand). I waited a bit to write this review as I wanted to put it through a good test of beard lengths as well as try it dry vs wet. The razor performed very well in all my tests but I certainly got the best shave in the shower using shaving gel and this PN razor. I only had to use my blade for under my lip and along the adam's apple area as this razor could not get close enough. I have never had a razor that could hit these two areas so not really a knock on this one. All in all I would highly recommend this. Of note, the charger is wireless and like a cell phone QI charger but as it lays flat, it takes up a little more room on the counter than all my other stand up charging units. The fit, finish and feel of this razor are perfect. Well done PN!

This is amazing. It does not irritate the skin at all. It is the closest shave that I can get other than with a regular manual razor. I love this thing. It looks sleek. The wireless charger is also amazing. I can't rave enough about this. It is a bit pricey, but I think it is the best electric razor you can buy right now.

I wanted to like this but it gave me razor burn big time. They say if you allow your skin time to get used to it then it’s great. I didn’t have that kind of time. Probably some user error I admit but for how much this thing costs it shouldn’t have any skin irritation at all

The Norelco S900 shaver is a very nice and elegant looking shaver. It comes with a wireless charger which is fantastic, and charges fairly quick. The issue I had is with the three head blades. I was able to get a very close shave but I have a goatee and this is where the issue for me is. The shaver will not shave close enough to the lines of my beard with out grabbing and pulling the hair of the beard. I ended up having to finish up with another razor to get a complete shave. I tried the included trimmer and it was ok, but it did pull hair as well. The shaver comes in a very nice but bulky case and complete instructions. I would think this shaver would be perfect for someone who has no beard, but for those of us with beards, it is just not quite the best option.

      Hi Paul,

Thank you for writing us a feedback about your Norelco Prestige. How unfortunate to hear that you are not a fan of the product, and that it did not give you satisfying results. We highly recommend reading the user manual once again to learn about how you can maximize the use of the device and its attachments. Hi Razor,

Thank you for your review. How unfortunate to hear that your Norelco performance does not meet your expectations. We would like you to enjoy your shaving experience, therefore please let us kindly suggest some tips which may be helpful: 1. Please pre-trim your facial hair before shaving. If your beard is too long, shaving results may not be optimal. 2. Use circular movements while shaving, and only apply a gentle pressure on your skin. This greatly improves the final result. 3. Whether you choose dry or wet shaving, please make sure to wash your skin with water and soap before proceeding.

As regards the battery performance, please make sure the shaver is plugged in correctly, and that the power outlet is working. Please also try charging your device for at least two hours in a row.

If this doesn't improve your experience, please reach out to us on Social Media. I have nothing but positive reviews for the shaver. I will start with the initial setup. The unboxing was very cool, the shaver itself looks very cutting edge and the wireless QI charging adds a nice futuristic tech appeal even if it does not add a necessary option. The initial full charge took about 75 minutes to get it to full power, I wish it had a direct plug in option to cut down that charge time. The weight and ergonomic design make this machine very easy to handle without any hand fatigue or awkward grip while shaving. The rotary design and the full pivot heads make this shaver very versatile. The beveled design of the rotary heads and the very flexible tilt design allow this razor to smoothly glide over your face without any discomfort. The variable speed design helps when the beard growth is longer than the typical 5 O'clock shadow. It allows for a nice clean effortless shave depending on the beard growth. The easy to clean function of popping off the tri rotary head and rinsing it under the faucet make this a breeze to clean. I also enjoy the countdown timer of the battery life. It stops all those annoying midway shaves due to a dead battery during the middle of your morning shave. AN AWESOME SHAVER WITH SOME NICE NECESSARY FEATURES AND A FEW BONUS UN-NECESSARY ONES TOO

I know what you are thinking. Can ANY electric shaver really be worth as much as a low end 4K 50-inch smart TV? Not as far as I am concerned. But if price is no object and you want a really nice top-of-the-line electric shaver, this latest offering from Norelco is about as as good as it gets. To start with, it's a beautiful piece of industrial design. One might be tempted to call it a work of art, with its shiny stainless steel cladding , swirling ridge design on the rubberized body and top and ergonomic handle that makes it a joy to hold. There's also a shiny new matching wireless charging pad to makes it easy to keep the shaver fully charged. Even better, there is plenty of good function to go with the attractive design, from the super comfortable floating articulated head to the LED in screen with large easy to read display that shows battery life, charging state and reminders. And to top it all off, this model comes with a sturdy, albeit very bulky, hard travel case that is designed to hold both the shaver and the wireless charger. I have been using Norelco shavers for most of my life, usually gravitating toward the decidely more less expensive models in the lineup. This is my first venture into the Porshe end of the scale and I come away with some mixed feelings. Yes, the S9000 Prestige delivers a a great shave. The trademark floating, rotating heads easily bend around the contours of your face and seem to cut closer and faster than less expensive models. The motor also seems to have a bit more torque -- a plus for those with heavy or tough stubble -- but is no louder than any other shaver in the Norelco lineup. In other words, it's pretty quiet. You can use it wet or dry and it works well either way. Battery life seems pretty darn good, using less than 5 percent of total charge per shave. Recharging from near empty takes about three hours, pretty slow by cell phone standards but you only shave once a day so charging speed is not essential. The big circular light on the charging pad turns on when you place the shaver on the charger and goes out when it's done. The LCD display on the shaver also shows charging state and provides other reminders regarding cleaning and changing blades. The new wireless recharging pad uses the same Qi technology as the wireless chargers that work with many cell phones. It's just a LOT bigger, a hefty 3.5 inches by 7 inches. That's not great if real estate on your bathroom vanity is in short supply. You might want to keep the charging pad somewhere else and just leave the shaver there when it needs a charge. That's all the good stuff. Here's the not so good. Unlike most much cheaper Norelco models, the sideburn trimmer is NOT built in. It's a separate head. You have to pull off the regular shaving heard and swap it with the trimmer. That's not very convenient and the trim head is small enough that would be easy to lose. Because its blades are so precise, the Norelco S9000 needs constant cleaning. As in every day, at least according to the instructions. That means running it under hot water while running after each shave, then pulling the head off the let them dry. So your shaver is in pieces most of the time, not a good look for the bathroom vanity. A more thorough cleaning, in which the blades are removed from circular shaving heads is recommended once a month. And new blades and heads ($60 for Norelco brand replacements - ouch!) are suggested once a year. But perhaps the biggest downside is the price. For all its good looks and fancy gadgetry, this Norelco shaver is not all that different from super cheap models from Norelco that cost one-tenth as much At least in terms of basic functionality. They all use the same sized circular cutting heads and all come mounted in flexible headpieces that bend to the contour of your face. Still, there are differences in the actual shaving heads and blades and the motor. In this case, Norelco says this model has "Nanotech precision blades" for "ultimate closeness," a "beard adapt sensor" that adapts "15x times per second" to deal with heavy or light beards and "SkinComfort" rings with "special metallic coating" for better comfort. To be honest, I really didn't notice that much difference from old cheap Norelco I have been using for a year or so, except the new model cut faster and did seem to result in a closer shave. In the end, the S9000 Prestige is an excellent, well-designed electric shaver that does its job very well. Only you can decide if all those extras it provides are worth the price.

My husband shaves his head every other day and this electric razor is impressive. This product is very aesthetically pleasing and has simple packaging. It comes with a nice hard sided carry case, and a wireless charger. He had to charge it up before using it, it charges rather quickly though. There is a small light up display screen on the front that shows the percent charged as well as 1-3 of which strength level you are shaving with. After about two uses, an icon came up indicating that he needed to clean the shaver. All he did was bang it against the side of his hand and it was able to empty the hair out of it. It says it can be used wet or dry, but using shavers like this make me nervous about getting wet and not working anymore so he only uses it dry. It gets a darn good close shave for an electric razor. He has had a few different models in the past, but this one performs the best out of all of them. We travel frequently so the travel case is definitely a nice addition.

Flat out, this is by FAR the best Electric shaver I have ever owned in 35 years of my shaving life. Three different speeds, and the HIGHEST is simply way more then I need... so I only use the medium and low. The add-on trimmer, so you deliberately need to add it, and don't get the occasion slide up slip up. The blades are SHARP, and cut clean... even on the very first usage out of the box. Flexible heads gets all the curves on the face. Relatively quiet as well, not sure if anyone can even hear it out side of me using it. Charging, this is maybe the only thing that gives it a small ding...and small, I mean really small simply because bathrooms are not in the 21st century yet. This uses non-contact charging system, meaning there is no metal-on-metal connector between the razor and the charging base. That fact, is GREAT. one less thing to worry about getting wet. The base, connects to a USB style plug in the wall, which we all have and we all carry, especially when we travel. Here is the ding, the charing base is a little big, and the razor has to lay flat on it... so it does take up a bit more space on your countertop. I can see in the future, where we have bathroom counter tops, with this tech built into them (both my toothbrush and my razor uses this tech to charge)... but till then you will need to make room. Now lastely... this is a spectactular looking razor. Bright and crips metal, really well done.. and is a piece that looks greate on the counter. Yes it is pricey. but it is somethign most people need to use daily, if not twie daily. and it touches the part of you, that most people see first... your face.....

I alaways used a manual razor before and while it was good I always had to buy razors which is expensive and slightly more work . With this it’s a lot easier and actually shaves closer for me. It is also IPX7 rated so it’s waterproof. The moment you see the box it scream a premium product and everything from the shaver to the case is premium. This model charges wirelessly using the supplied Qi charger which also will work with your latest Android and iOS devices as well.
