My husband loves his shaver i gifted him for Christmas. The only downfall was that the bag is not included and we travel alot, what a bummer.

Dad loves it. I should have bought several of these as much loved gifts at an awesome price. It shares many components of the higher end series Philips Norelco's. Try one, dad didn't like the Braun.

I have been using Norelco rotary shavers for approximately 25 - 30 years. My first Norelco was a gift from my son who heard me complain about repeatedly wearing out the foil screens of my prior favorite shaver models. The initial transition from blades or other electric shavers to a Norelco rotary shaver requires allowing your facial skin and beard to acclimate to the more aggressive, rotary cutting action. Norelco’s User Manuals advise new users of rotary shavers about the typical adjustment period. The best method is to use an extremely light touch, the minimum amount of pressure and to keep the shaver in motion over the skin. After several days of acclimation, you receive excellent, comfortable shaves. Norelco recommends a 21 day acclimation period. Once you try a Norelco rotary shaver you become a lifelong Norelco user. The two fundamental reasons are 1) Norelco rotary shavers give the closest, cleanest, quickest and most comfortable shaves, and 2) Norelco rotary shavers are typically extremely durable and reliable, and have exceptional longevity. I have a heavy, tough beard, yet my Norelco shavers typically last for many years. The reason that they ultimately require replacement, is that the rechargeable battery finally wears out and will fail to hold a charge. Performing for years of daily use, and it is only the battery that wears out, is a testament to the quality and reliability of Norelco shavers. I find that the cutting blades, which are replaceable, have been of such excellent quality that they remain sharp and effective and comfortable for many years, even with my tough, heavy, wiry beard. The Norelco Model 3134/84 (3000 Series) is my preferred style of Norelco shaver, incorporating the best Norelco features for performance and functionality. It is a triple, floating head shaver with pop-up trimmer. The three floating heads, which are in a flexible mount, provide an exceptionally close and comfortable shave, every time. This articulating cutting head design follows and conforms well to the contours of the face which really facilitates good, close shaves which are very comfortable. Norelco now labels those features as “5D Pivot and Flex Heads”. The pop-up trimmer is excellent for side burns, moustache and the rear of the neck, at the hairline. The shape and contour of the shaver, which is the traditional, legacy “hockey stick” shape, coupled with the partially textured, rubberized over-molded case, provides for a good, comfortable and natural grip with excellent control. This new Norelco 3134 shaver is providing the same comfortable and clean shave that I have always received from my prior Norelco shavers. It cuts clean and fast, and I never receive a razor burn. Cleaning is easy with the pop-open top which facilitates access to remove the accumulated shaving clippings. No cleaning brush is included, although one has been included with prior Norelco shavers. The Norelco 3134 shaver is a wet or dry shave model, although it is not submersible. I have never wet shaved with an electric shaver, nor do I intend to. Among the reasons for abandoning blade razors and shaving cream decades ago, was the convenience and comfort of dry, electric shaving. Periodic thorough cleaning by rinsing the cutting heads and drive pinion area under running water restores a like-new cleanliness and efficiency. The Norelco 3134 rotary shaver is a basic economy model, which nevertheless performs just as efficiently and effectively as its more expensive brethren. The cutting heads have only a single row of cutting blades, rather than multiple rows of blades as better models do. It is reasonable to presume that more blades will cut faster, more efficiently and more effectively than only 27 blades (and probably last longer, as well). The cleaning brush is omitted. The features and functionality are relatively basic without bells, whistles, Bluetooth or smartphone apps. Nevertheless, the Norelco 3134 includes the most important features, and its performance is very good, providing, close, clean and comfortable shaves. The Norelco 3134 includes the most important and desirable Norelco features comprised of three floating heads, mounted in flexing mounting rings on a pivoting head, pop-up trimmer and Li-Ion rechargeable battery. A single LED diode is located directly below the switch to indicate when the battery is depleted, when it is charging and when charging is complete. The LED flashes orange when the battery has approximately 15 or fewer minutes of operating capacity remaining. It flashes white when charging and switches to solid white when the charge cycle is complete. Because this is a wet/dry model, it cannot be operated when connected to the A/C charger. To avoid the inconvenience of running out of charge mid-shave and waiting for it to recharge to resume shaving, the Norelco 3134 shaver includes a “quick charge” feature which will accommodate one shave after a rapid, five minute recharge. A full charge requires approximately one hour. The printed User Manual included with the shaver states that a fully charged shaver will provide approximately 60 minutes of operational shaving use. However, the product box states that the shaver has a 50 minute run time. One of those declarations might be correct. I believe that the box is accurate, since the same User Manual is used for at least four different model variants. Perhaps this model has a smaller Li-Ion battery than the other, similar models. The low battery warning of a flashing orange LED helps to prevent running out of charge mid-shave. Also included is a plastic protective cap for the cutting heads. However, just as this model does not include a small cleaning brush for the heads, the Norelco 3134 also does not include any type of case or pouch. This is the only Norelco shaver I have ever had which did not come with some sort of case or at least a pouch. Most came with molded, zippered cases which are compact and protective. The lack of any type of case is both inconvenient and impractical, both when home and when travelling. Based on decades of prior experience, I am hopeful that this model will be as durable, reliable and long-lasting as most of my prior Norelco shavers. The Norelco 3134 is not manufactured in the Netherlands. This model is manufactured in Indonesia. Based on the good performance of the Norelco 3134 thus far, I recommend the Norelco 3134 rotary shaver.

I compared the Philips Norelco - Series 3000 shaver to my old Philips Norelco - Aquatec shaver The Series 3000 was quieter but the Aquatec gave a better shave.

It incorporates a number of important advancements in shaving technology designed to provide an ideal balance of close shaves and sensitive skin care at a very reasonable cost. Norelco shavers are manufactured by Philips North America (the tradename Norelco comes from North American Philips electrical Company.) which is a unit of Koninklijke Philips N.V. , a $20 billion Dutch electronics, lighting and medical products company founded in 1891. Among its best-known consumer products are Norelco grooming devices, Sonicare oral health products, Magnavox & Philips audio and video products, Philips kitchen appliances and personal healthcare. I own two other Norelco shavers, a two year old S7940 and a twelve year old 9160 XL. Both of these were the top-of-the-line model when purchased and have given me flawless service. See my photo comparisons of these three shavers. Norelco currently offers two core designs in its shavers. The more expensive 5000/7000/9000 series are slimmer and have a “mushroom” head which sit above the body of the shaver and thus have more flexibility to conform to your face. The other design is seen in the more basic and economical 1000/2000/3000 series which have a flatter head design. Like all Norelco shavers the S3134 is elegantly styled and very ergonomic. It is a nice combination of steel blue and black. It is lightweight, but feels substantial in your hand. There is rubberized grip material where your index finger and thumb would grasp the shaver and your remaining three fingers cradle the sides of the shaver’s body. It is a bit longer than my 9160 Norelco and a bit lighter. Compared to the 7940 it is wider and slightly heavier. On the front of the shaver is the power button and a single LCD icon which lights when charging or to indicate (in orange) that the battery life is low. The reason I added this shaver to my collection is that I have the feeling that my trusty 9160 is nearing retirement age. I like having two shavers available and the flatter head shape of the 9160 and the 3134 work well with parts of my face, while the “mushroom” shape of the 7940 head is best for other parts of my face. One significant difference between the three Norelco shavers I own is the number of blades in the three rotary heads. See my photos which show the cutting heads and blades of the three shavers. The oldest model (9160) has three rings of blades (12 in the outer ring, 6 in the middle ring and 3 in the inner ring.) That is a total of 21 blades in each head (63 total.) The S7940 shaver has a double ring of blades (15 in the outer ring and 9 in the inner ring.) That is a total of 24 blades in each head (72 total.) The S3134 shaver has only 9 blades in each head (27 total.) What is the effect of more vs. fewer blades? The advantage of more blades is a faster and closer shave. However, the chance of developing an ingrown hair is greater with the 7940 model since its 72 total blades cut very closely compared to the 27 more widely spaced blades of the 3134 model. If you have a tendency to develop razor bumps on your skin you may find that the 3134 is a better choice. The battery life on this shaver is actually much greater than the 50 minutes claimed by Norelco. I tested it by running it continuously from a fully-charged state and it lasted 121 minutes! Now it should be noted that this was not actual shaving time, so I estimate that actual shaving time would be about 100+ minutes. Recharge time from a fully-discharged state was 68 minutes. Other notes about the charging system: The orange low-charge warning light activated with 5.5 minutes of running time remaining. A five minute quick charge gave 9.5 minutes of shaving time. The shaver cannot be run while the charging cable is attached (this is to prevent electric hazards.) The plastic head cover fits snugly and will give your shaver adequate protection when traveling. Note that no travel pouch is included (the Best Buy overview of what’s included is incorrect.) So how well does it work? Very well! The shaving function is effective and very comfortable. It is quiet (no loud buzz like some electric shavers) and it removed every trace of my stubble with absolutely no irritation to my skin. The “5D” flex and pivot motion really works well to reach every part of your face. The pop-out trimmer is effective (although not as good as the separate trimmer head provided on the 5000/7000/9000 Norelco shavers.) I used the shaver in both dry and wet modes and it worked flawlessly. Cleaning is very simple – just pop open the head and rinse it under warm water. If you are converting from a manual (blade) razor you will really appreciate the luxury of continuing to use your favorite shaving cream when you use this great device. I am accustomed to very good shavers and the S3134 certainly meets my high standards. Is it the best shaver you can buy from Norelco? No – if your budget can accommodate the higher cost of a 7000 series Norelco shaver (about twice the cost of the S3134) – you should invest in that model. But if razor bumps are a problem you have experienced or you just wish to economize, the Norelco S3134 wet/dry shaver is an excellent choice and I give it a full five stars.

After a month stop working, I changed charger but still not working. Only four time use

I got this for myself. My old one was running on E. It was time. I love it.

I use this electric shaver daily, this saves a crazy amount of time.

The Philips Norelco Series 3000 wet/dry shaver provides a close, smooth shave without irritating the skin. The shaver itself takes about an hour to charge; I was able to use the shaver for approximately one whole week (at about fifteen to twenty-minute shaving intervals a day without charging). The battery life on this shaver is good, and the shaver has a nice LED indicator to let you know when the battery is full. The shaving heads are smooth, and they provided a delicate shave to my sensitive skin already (while shaving dry). When I used a shaving lotion on my face, I found that the shaver provided a smoother shave. Again, I have to stress that my sensitive skin had no irritation. However, the included trimmer is the reason why I deducted one-star from this shaver. While I have some stubble on my face (one could argue a constant "five o'clock shadow for style), I find that trimming down the stubble with the trimmer causes the hairs to pull. Which, overall, takes away from the already delicate experience that I do not take for granted. My old Philips Norelco shaver, however, it too has an included trimmer, and the trimming speed does a better job at trimming stubble without pinching/pulling. I almost want to say that the speed of the trimmer should be upgraded to trim facial stubble (that is my guess as to why the trimmer is lackluster compared to the shaving heads). Cleaning the shaver is easy, as all you have to do is press the eject button on the front of the shaver, empty the hairs into your sink, and rinse the shaver out underneath the running water. I would not recommend dunking the shaver in water, though. Overall, the Philips Norelco Series 3000 is an excellent wet/dry shaver for those with sensitive skin, and it shines when you provide a light dab of shaving lotion to your face pre-shave. Where the Norelco Series 3000 falls short for me is the included trimming head. When trimming facial stubble (though it does trim sideburns and hairs around the other parts of your face), it pulls/pinches the hair on your face to a point where it becomes uncomfortable to whoever is using it.

This shaver offers a great combination of value, comfort, and functionality, making it a standout in its price range. The wet/dry functionality is fantastic—I love being able to use it in the shower for a quick, convenient shave, or dry when I’m on the go. The precision blades give me a smooth shave without irritation. Even on sensitive areas, I didn’t experience any nicks or cuts. I've always been an electric razor guy and have been using them for over 20 years now. This one does the job as well or better than any of the others I have used. Battery life is good and you will not need to charge it too often. The shave provided is fairly close, as you would expect with an electric razor. Not nearly as close as a manual razor, but good enough for me! Cleaning is a snap, as this model allows for being run under the faucet to rinse it out. I am used to using brushes to clean out the trimmings so it was nice to not have to do that. Note that this model does not come with a brush so if you do prefer to dry clean, you will need to supply your own. One of the features I really enjoyed with this electric razor is the pivoting head (pictured). It shifts to match your angle of pressure while shaving very nicely. Overall, this is an excellent razor to consider if you are in the market for one.

The Philips Norelco Shaver Series 300 was a joy to use after coming from a straight edge electric shaver. The other shaver would present issues when getting around the corners of my face and around my chin but that is not the case with the Philips as the contoured movement of the shaving heads makes it super simple to tend to the edges of your face. It's also very easy to clean and has a replaceable blade that you can get from Philips directly when it's time for a new blade. There is a pop out straight edge shaver that makes it convenient to line up parts of your hair and the included charger was easy to use as well. I really appreciate the water proof design around the shaving head as I did not feel like I had to baby the shaver and I was left to focus on the shave. Overall I'm very happy with the Philips Norelco Shaver Series 300 and would recommend it to anyone that is looking for a great shave whether it is a dry or wet shave!
