Customers are saying

Customers frequently mention the Series 9000 Ultimate Rechargeable Beard and Hair Trimmer's excellent overall performance, particularly its ability to provide a close trim and its long-lasting battery life. The ease of use and the convenient length adjustment features are also frequently praised. While some users noted the trimmer is louder than others, the positive feedback on performance and usability outweighs this concern.

I have always used Norelco products to trim my beard over the years, and my trimmer was getting old and the battery not charging as well anymore (it was 6 years old). So it was time to upgrade. This beard trimmer is very basic in design (in a good way!) and easy to use and provides a consistently even trimming with no tugging at the hair. I love the stainless steel design, and the battery indicator at the bottom of the razor. This lets you know how much battery you have left which is a very nice feature, because there have been many times with other models I get halfway done trimming and alas, it dies and I am left with half a trimmed beard. Adjusting the length is as easy as turning the dial to the desired length, and it comes with an attachment comb for longer lenghts which is a nice feature. No more having 20 different comb attachments!! The charge lasts for a good amount of time, about an hour of trim time per charge. Charges up pretty quickly too, you can charge it for 5 minutes to get one trimming out of the way if you are in a rush which is nice. Easy to use, easy to clean, easy to take care of, and very well built! Would definitely recommend.

Trash. I can only assume that the positive reviews are from people who either aren't trimming a beard or have never used a good beard trimmer. A good trimmer is 50% blades, 50% comb. My old (sadly now broken) Phillips 4070 with a "contour following comb" yielded a neater trim in less than 5 minutes than is probably possible with this device in 5 hours. Sure the blades are fine, but unless your face is two-dimensional you're not going to get a neat trim out of this device without a lot of time and frustration.

I never bought a beard trimmer more than $60 so I thought maybe it was time to step up and get a "premium" model. Welp, its actually not as good as those cheaper models at actually trimming. It leaves tons of random hairs uncut and the attachment promises more lengths but I swear it does not cut 10mm for sure and a few others ar iffy. Phillips is hit or miss from my experience and should've known better. They have great ideas but they dont always hit the mark.

This is the best trimmer i purchased so far. The sharp edges of the frame helps trim beard sharply. Unlike previous models, the cut is here precise and clean. No shortcomings

    Nice shaver, but loud

As an army veteran, I’m used to shaving with razors and although they cut very close, my skin was always irritated and i often developed shave bumps afterwards. Now that, I’m a civilian, I don’t need to shave so close and have been searching for something that saves my skin the agony of the razor. This shaver doesn’t cut as close as a razor but i also don’t need it to. It has some good weight and balance to it and it does a pretty good job of shaving my goatee. It’s not something that i can use in the morning without waking up my wife because of how loud it is, but its definitely the best shaver I’ve used in a while. It comes with a carrying case, but the case wont hold the charger which doesn’t make much sense. I’m not sure how long the trimmer holds a charge, so if its significant, that could be the reason why. It has a nice design and looks pretty futuristic which added to my appeal about this trimmer. All in all, this is a nice trimmer and i would recommend it.

Great for Beard Trim or Haircut

This is a higher quality trimmer, I have used the cheaper ones from the supermarket and this one indeed trimmed my beard much better and more evenly with fewer passes. It is easy to clean and has a very simple ‘height of beard’ adjustment. Actually I also use it to cut my hair. Since the pandemic I started cutting my own hair and this unit now makes the job much easier. I can dial in the correct side length and it smoothly goes over my ears and back of the head. I adjust it higher and cut the top of the head. Works great. I do recommend it because it cuts cleanly and the shape allows me to hold it at the correct angle for a beard trim or for a haircut. Another plus is that it is rechargeable so no cord needed and can be used in the shower. Great product.

Norelco does a great job with shavers and their clipper attachments are a great little added bonus, but I wouldn't cut my hair with them for obvious reasons. That's where the series 9000 comes in. At first glance, it looks and feels premium in both the real stainless steel body and the compact yet weighted feel in the hand. It's very portable and comes with it's own carry case. I really like the large height adjustment wheel and steel blade guard that give a sense of precision while it actually follows through with that precision from 0.4mm up to 10mm with the only included guard attachment. My old hair trimmer came with a bulky case and 9 attachments, the smallest of which was 3mm, so it's refreshing to be able to vary the cut of my beard and sideburns. As a hair trimmer, it's kind of slow, mainly because the blade is small and the guard teeth are so close together. Though it does the job, I've decided to only use it for finishing touches for which I feel it works best. I've even used it to clean up those hard to reach spots the shaver can't get to like just below the jaw line or trimming the moustache just below the nose. I've used it for about a week and can report the battery has just recently went to 2 bars out of 3 which is pretty impressive. The only thing that bothers me a bit is the elevated noise compared to my corded clippers. Though I would assume it's to be expected from a cordless unit. Quite miniscule in comparison to it's indispensability. I would recommend this for people that don't use razors, but want a well groomed beard and overall appearance.

This trimmer is very easy to get started. It is well weighted and the trimming speed is fairly consistent. It did not take long to charge, and I've trimmed my beard several times without having to recharge and it looks fantastic. I really like the traveling/storage case that comes with it.

I am a big fan of Phillips trimmers. I have always gone with Phillips because of their durability over time. This Norelco 9000 series is no different. The quality is the best of all the three Phillips trimmers I own. The spin wheel is so convenient and super easy to use. I hope they integrate this to their other designs. The steel blades on this trimmer are precise and cut nicely. I love the little case for the trimmer as I already took this while traveling and it did the job of protecting the trimmer. I have also used this in the shower to trim some chess hair and it did the job without any problems. All in all, I am enjoying this trimmer and it’s now my to go of the three that I own. My only thing is that I wish it had more attachments, but that’s alright. I do recommend this product!

Excellent Beard Trimmer - Hair Trim Depends on Use

The Philips Norelco Ultimate Beard and Hair Trimmer Series 9000 is a very solid-feeling product. I really like the design and fact that it stands upright when needed. I am a fan of Norelco products and use them every day. As a trimmer for my beard length, this is excellent. The best I've used. However, I also use a beard-and-hair trimmer to buzz my head regularly. When using this unit for that purpose, it was a rougher experience than usual. In addition, the closest setting was not as close as my other Norelco trimmer. As a result it left a (very slightly) longer buzz when done than normal. That would probably not matter if the experience was smooth. But, together, I came away disappointed. I really like the build and the touch-up beard trimming, but I won't use it for buzzing my head. Because of that, I just can't recommend it. However, if your use scenario is different, you may find this to be just what you're looking for.

The Philips Norelco Ultimate Beard and Hair Trimmer Series 9000 is beautifully designed, sturdy as a tank, and works wonderfully. The first thing I noticed is how solid the unit is. Not flimsy in the least and good looking. I like that it stands on its own and it's silver and black casing just looks good. The star of the Philips Norelco Ultimate Beard and Hair Trimmer Series 9000 is the steel cutting head. There is a plastic adapter for longer cuts but the main unit has a dial that adjusts the steel cutting head to all but the final 2 settings. The unit isn't like other groomers in its class so please pay attention to the directions on how to hold the groomer. Once you get the hang of it, EZ PZ, and a comfortable groom with no pulling or discomfort. Phillips professional quality that can be used at home or in a shop. Cheers!

    High Quality, Low Ergonomics

The Norelco 9000 trimmer is an impeccably built, high quality trimmer that's held back by some odd ergonomic/usability issues. Most of the body is built from steel, and has an incredibly premium feel and heft to it. It includes a beard trimming attachment and a carrying case, and it works incredibly well for beard trimming. Using this to trim my lockdown beard (which was looking rather scraggly), I had no snags and the trimmer cut without bogging down at all, which is more than I can say for any of my previous trimmers. The ergonomics of the Series 9000 trimmer need some work, though. My first clue to this is the fact that the package has a diagram that confusingly tries to explain how to hold the trimmer. Generally, you shouldn't need an explanation on how to hold a trimmer. The first thing I noticed when trying to use it is that the power button is oddly difficult to hit; seems weird, but for some reason, it's not in a good spot for how I hold the trimmer. The second thing I noticed is that, because the trimmer head has a large "bar" type apparatus that floats above the head (which is where the trimmer guard attaches to), it's surprisingly difficult to see what you're doing when you're trying to get a close trim. Trimming around my ears, for instance, took an unexpected amount of thought and maneuvering to get the trimmer head just right. It's the first time I've experienced this type of difficulty, so it's definitely down to the ergonomic layout of this particular trimmer. Overall, this is an incredibly high quality, high performance trimmer that made easy work of trimming my beard with zero issues or slow downs. Unfortunately, the layout makes using it a little more difficult than it should be.
