Excellent Beard Trimmer - Hair Trim Depends on Use

The Philips Norelco Ultimate Beard and Hair Trimmer Series 9000 is a very solid-feeling product. I really like the design and fact that it stands upright when needed. I am a fan of Norelco products and use them every day. As a trimmer for my beard length, this is excellent. The best I've used. However, I also use a beard-and-hair trimmer to buzz my head regularly. When using this unit for that purpose, it was a rougher experience than usual. In addition, the closest setting was not as close as my other Norelco trimmer. As a result it left a (very slightly) longer buzz when done than normal. That would probably not matter if the experience was smooth. But, together, I came away disappointed. I really like the build and the touch-up beard trimming, but I won't use it for buzzing my head. Because of that, I just can't recommend it. However, if your use scenario is different, you may find this to be just what you're looking for.

Best beard trimmer I’ve ever used. Great battery life and sleek design. The adjustable guard trims evenly doesn’t make divets. I would recommed this product hands down

The Philips Norelco Ultimate Beard and Hair Trimmer Series 9000 is beautifully designed, sturdy as a tank, and works wonderfully. The first thing I noticed is how solid the unit is. Not flimsy in the least and good looking. I like that it stands on its own and it's silver and black casing just looks good. The star of the Philips Norelco Ultimate Beard and Hair Trimmer Series 9000 is the steel cutting head. There is a plastic adapter for longer cuts but the main unit has a dial that adjusts the steel cutting head to all but the final 2 settings. The unit isn't like other groomers in its class so please pay attention to the directions on how to hold the groomer. Once you get the hang of it, EZ PZ, and a comfortable groom with no pulling or discomfort. Phillips professional quality that can be used at home or in a shop. Cheers!

    High Quality, Low Ergonomics

The Norelco 9000 trimmer is an impeccably built, high quality trimmer that's held back by some odd ergonomic/usability issues. Most of the body is built from steel, and has an incredibly premium feel and heft to it. It includes a beard trimming attachment and a carrying case, and it works incredibly well for beard trimming. Using this to trim my lockdown beard (which was looking rather scraggly), I had no snags and the trimmer cut without bogging down at all, which is more than I can say for any of my previous trimmers. The ergonomics of the Series 9000 trimmer need some work, though. My first clue to this is the fact that the package has a diagram that confusingly tries to explain how to hold the trimmer. Generally, you shouldn't need an explanation on how to hold a trimmer. The first thing I noticed when trying to use it is that the power button is oddly difficult to hit; seems weird, but for some reason, it's not in a good spot for how I hold the trimmer. The second thing I noticed is that, because the trimmer head has a large "bar" type apparatus that floats above the head (which is where the trimmer guard attaches to), it's surprisingly difficult to see what you're doing when you're trying to get a close trim. Trimming around my ears, for instance, took an unexpected amount of thought and maneuvering to get the trimmer head just right. It's the first time I've experienced this type of difficulty, so it's definitely down to the ergonomic layout of this particular trimmer. Overall, this is an incredibly high quality, high performance trimmer that made easy work of trimming my beard with zero issues or slow downs. Unfortunately, the layout makes using it a little more difficult than it should be.

I like to think I am particular with what I use to maintain my facial hair, so I took a chance on this higher end option. I AM NOT DISAPPOINTED. This checks all the boxes, lithium rechargeable battery, high quality construction, good adjustment and bonus carry case for travel. Unboxing the trimmer includes everything you need to use this long term. I charged it quickly and gave it a maiden run using the included guard to start long and then trimmed it closer to see how well it adjusted. The differences in the settings is very nice to have if you ever needed to get really specific on length. Happy to report it does a great job on the first pass so you won't need to go over the same area multiple times. I like the fact you can rinse it out to better clean it and it does come with an oil bottle and intelligent alerts to let a user know when it needs to be oiled. Another nice feature is the travel lock to prevent it from accidentally turning on when packed away. Super happy with this trimmer, definite upgrade from my decade old trimmer set. The steel construction and size feel good in the hand and this will be a great addition to my medicine cabinet for a long time I hope.

    Cuts Trimming Time In Half.

I have just completed my first use of the Norelco BT9000 Prestige beard trimmer and it just became my favorite trimmer. Over the past few years, I have used a few of Norelco's beard trimmers and with each new release they get better and better. The first thing I would like to highlight about this beard trimmer is that when I hold it in my hand it feels like a premium trimmer. All the parts fit together perfectly, it has a decent weight and when I turn the beard height knob, it makes a satisfying click to let me know it is locked into place. Also, it cut my trimming time in half. With each swipe across my beard, the integrated comb lifted the hair and cut it evenly with just one pass. Additionally, it did not pull or snag on any hair. The only area where this trimmer did not do so well was on my neck. It did a great job at lining it up my neck, but it could not get close enough to give me a smooth finish. All that being said, I still highly recommend this trimmer. It is an excellent trimmer that will give you the perfect beard height in one pass. But it will not give you a close hairless shave.

To start off this thing looks like a light Sabre! It comes in a fitting protective case, The build quality is excellent. It's either brushed aluminum or stainless steel with black accents. The first thing I noticed and was pleased with was the fact that you can easily adjust the length by simply rotating the dial on the shaft of the shaver. It has 30....yes 30 ! length settings that range from .4 - 10mm. It's completely waterproof and rinse able for easy cleaning and quotes up to 120 minutes of power although I've never had to shave for that long to fully test it before putting it back on the charger once I'm done. It comes with battery light indicator and blade oil indicator as well. Letting you know when the blades need oil great feature in my opinion. It is said to oil them regularly for the best performance. It's fully charged in one hour and quick charge in 5 minutes enough for me to do my daily grooming.. Overall can't beat the bang for your buck with this one. Highly recommended for others!

I got this shaver to replace another Philips shaver after I busted the plastic guard. The big appeal on this one was not needing a plastic guard; the blade itself does the length adjustments. It does have a plastic spacer to enable lengths from 6mm-12mm, but that is made from much stronger plastic than typical shaver guards. Another feature I appreciate is the ability to dial in your desired length. The large numbers also make it easy to determine what length the blades are set at. The numbers indicate the length of your hair in millimeters, so you may find yourself Googling for a standard to metric conversion tool the first time you use it. It does seem to be a bit more finicky than other shavers I’ve used regarding how you hold it. This makes it take a bit longer to trim my beard since I have to either go more slowly or go over some areas multiple times. Overall it does what it is designed to do and I find its features outweigh any additional time required for grooming.

I’ve gone through quite a few trimmers over the years, and while this one is still relatively new, I have high hopes. Initially the feel of this trimmer is different/better than ones I’ve used in the past. It has a heavier and more durable feel to it. Additionally the ability of the trimmer to go from 0.2 mm to 10 mm with the use of one single attachment is great. It give you lots of options without the hassle of multiple different attachments. I also love the fact that it’s waterproof which makes cleaning it out much easier than before but they still include the handy little brush to get those hard to reach areas clean. Would highly recommend to those trying to keep their beards neat and clean or those trying to tame a wild bush.

I have the Philips Norelco 7000 and it's been fantastic. Trying the 9000, i didn't think it could get better, but it does. The design has been refreshed just like how iPhones have different looks when they're upgraded. It's very sleek looking. Unfortunately as loud as expected, but works really really well. The biggest game changer that I still find hard to believe is it being waterproof. I've used the 7000 in the shower but very carefully as I don't think it's waterproof. I haven't tested the 9000 to the extent of submerging it in water but it can take some splashes and moisture at least. It also doesn't hiccup and 'jump' as I'm shaving which is nice. It's a smooth journey across your face. Highly recommended.

Simplistic design, one attachment, ultimate trim

The Philips Norelco Ultimate Beard and Hair Trimmer Series 9000 is the beard trimmer that I always wanted but did not know existed. I have been keeping a well-maintained beard for the past 4 years (with a little slip up during quarantine), and to maintain this beard I use 3 different trimmers: a large hair trimmer (to cut beard to desired length), a smaller face trimmer (for edge trimming and neckline), and a close 3 head trimmer for a clean shave. This Ultimate Beard and Hair Trimmer combines two of these previous trimmers and could potentially eliminate the third if willing to compromise a tightly flush shave (0.4mm residual). I have completely replaced the large hair trimmer and the smaller face trimmer. The trimmer has ONE attachment that allows for a longer hair trim between 5.4mm to 10mm. Without the attachment, one can get a close trim between 0.4mm to 5mm. The 0.4mm allows for cleaning beard line and removing the majority of hair. I do still have the close 3 head trimmer out, charged, and ready to go when needing to look extremely well groomed and professional but this is for rare occasions. Overall, for my normal shaving, I can even out the length of my beard and clean up the neck using the one trimmer, which is delightful. The trimmer is wireless, which of course is a plus! (Especially when going from a trimmer whose battery was dead and had to remain plugged in). In the hand, the trimmer is quite thick in my opinion. The manual suggests how to hold the trimmer. I thought that was silly to mention; however, I found myself using the trimmer as described by default. Once you get shaving, the size become manageable and easy to maneuver. The best part in my opinion is the adjustable zoom wheel. The trim ranges previously mentioned are controlled easily by an adjustable wheel. With a few clicks one can adjust the length between 0.4mm to 5mm, and then with the attachment head added the length range changes to 5.4mm to 10mm. I love this aspect, versus keeping up with multiple length attachments! The trimmer comes with a case, and a small brush to assist in cleaning up the trimmer. The manual mentions oiling the razor as needed; however, there was no oil included that I noticed. This would be my only “complaint” as previous razors I have gotten include the oil, but this is not a deal breaker! Overall, I would view this beard and hair trimmer not only as a delight at home for easy maintenance, but an easily transportable razor for travel and on the go. The ability to have multiple lengths with minimal attachments is the go-to selling point for myself.

This is a great all around trimmer but it shine the most for trimming your beard. The carrying case will only fit the trimmer, which is fine by me since I’d only need a carrying case for short trips away from home. The trimmer has an angled smooth metal piece that helps guide you while trimming. Also, there is a plastic piece that gives you trimming options from 5.4mm to 10mm. Without the guard the trimmer can cut from .4mm to 5mm. Therefore, if you want a close cut (0mm) this may not work out for you. Other than that great trimmer while I used it on wet and dry skin!

Ok, when I saw this product, I thought it had me written all over it…I happen to use shavers like this on a regular basis as I like to have my beard at .04 inches at all times…the perennial 5 o’clock shadow. The construction is sturdy, easy to charge, it’s waterproof and it feels substantial in the hand. The Philips Norelco Ultimate Beard and Hair Trimmer comes with a charging cord, travel case and plastic comb clip to attach for longer beard lengths. I wanted to like this more. I used this for many days before my final assessment but couldn’t get to where this will be my go to shaver. I think the reason is because I use it on the lowest setting, I don’t use the plastic comb attachment. With just the steel against my skin, it feels a little harsh and the trimming is not as easy as it should be. I even at one point made a minor nick on my lower lip with it. It works but not for my use. If you have a longer beard this will be perfect for you but for those who want the shortest setting might want to look elsewhere.
