Good for thin hair, thicker hair may have troubles
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got it for my Dad, but he still liked his old 20 year old Philips Norelco shaver better. He said this one was a bit weak compared to the one he had. My dad has very thick and strong facial hair but if the user has thinner hair it may work for him.

Disappointed
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Really disappointed in this electric shaver. Cuts unevenly and is uncomfortable as it moves over my face. Norelco used to make decent shavers but if my experience with this shaver is any indication, they have gone downhill.

A real time saver
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve used an older version of Philips shaver for about 6 years now, so I decided it was time for an upgrade. I like what they’ve done with the newer version. The shape is slightly more squared off now, plus they’ve added some textured grip areas which make it much easier to hold. The best thing to me, though, is that instead of a bulky power brick for charging it now just comes with a USB-A charging cable. So that makes it much easier to charge at home, but especially to charge while traveling. It still uses the standard SH30 blades, so it’s easy to get replacements when needed. They recommend replacing them every year, but I’ve gone at least three years with no problems. The three shaver heads can now tilt towards the center which seems to have improved how it follows the contour of my face. I always use it dry, and I think it does a great job that way. You do have to move in small circles and go over an area a few times to catch all the hairs, but overall, I think it’s still faster shaving this way than the old shaving cream and razor method. When I first switched over to shaving this way, it took my skin a few weeks to get used to it. But now it feels perfectly normal, and I almost never have any irritation or ingrown hairs. I like the lithium-ion battery, run time, and power of this new shaver. I think it runs at a little higher RPM than the old one, so it does a little better job shaving. The runtime is advertised as 60 minutes. I’ve never timed it, but I shave every other day and only charge it once per week. I’m sure I could go longer, but I just keep to that schedule. I also like that this shaver now has a battery level indicator (three bars) that comes on briefly when you turn it on. The old shaver would only light up amber when the battery was low, so you never really knew for sure how charged it was until it was too low. It’s super easy to clean out when you’re done. The head just flips open, and you can run it under the faucet to flush it out. I usually take the head off and shake the excess water out of both pieces, then snap it back together and leave it open to dry. Like my older model, it also has a flip out trimmer on the back. At first, I didn’t think I’d use that at all, but it’s surprisingly useful to keep not only your sideburns trimmed, but other hair as well. I’ve used it to catch some stray hairs around my ears, neck, etc. I hate shaving and the time it takes, but I feel like switching to an electric shaver has allowed me to get back some of that time. It’s fast, convenient, and I can also multitask while shaving so it doesn’t feel like I’m wasting as much time. I’m glad I switched, and I would buy another shaver just like this if something happened to it.

Great Shave
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Using an electric shaver has always been an issue. They just never cut as close as a blade. Also they had fairly large heads and went dull. I switched back to razors for the past 10 years. I wanted to try an electric razor again and have this one a try. I was very happy I did. This razor is light and fits well in the hand. The battery life is very good and it fully charges in less than an hour. Plus it has a USB charge cable to charge the unit. It’s very easy to take on trips. The cutting is much better than I expected. It cut very close on the face and even did a great job around the jaw and neck. I didn’t have to press hard to get it to cut close and it didn’t chafe my skin when using it. For cleaning it has a handy button to rotate the cutting blade back and allows you to clean the device. I never thought I would go back to razors again but I am very glad I gave this device a chance. I’m sold on a razor again and am very happy with this device. I would definitely recommend.

Another great shaver from Norelco
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been using Norelco shavers for over 30 years and have always had great luck with them. I currently have the 5000 and 9500 series shavers. This 3600 performs exceptionally well. It provides a nice close shave. The head is mounted on a rubberized base so in addition to the floating heads the main head moves up and down as well to better conform to your face. I was really surprised at how quiet this shaver is. Quieter than both the 5000 and 9500 series shavers. This may be due to the fact that the blades do not appear to spin as fast as the other 2 shavers but does not appear to affect the performance of the shave. The shaver has a pop-up trimmer that works well as have all my Norelco shavers. It is light weight and comfortable in your hand. I have not used it enough to deplete the battery and it appears to last a reasonable amount of time. Interesting enough the shaver now comes with a USB charging cable. The end that connects to the shaver is the standard figure 8 style plug but the power side is USB and does not come with a charging block. This is not an issue as most buyers should have a drawer full of charging blocks. I ran the battery down to see how long it would take to charge and it was surprisingly fast to charge. There are only LEDs to show the level of charge as opposed to the 9500 series that indicates in percentages but it works. The shaver comes with a carrying bag but I am using the hard case that came with one of my other Norelco shavers. It also comes with a cap to cover the shaving head which some Norelco’s do not. The shaver can be used dry or wet and can be rinsed under water to clean. It does not come with a cleaning brush which is strange as every other Norelco’s I have ever had always came with one. There is a card included that directs you to register the shaver and you will receive an additional 6 months of warranty. I can say that I have Norelco shavers that are still working after 10 years. I think the only one I ever had an issue with is when it would no longer charge and it was at least 5 years old. As always Norelco has a great product that performs well and provides and great shave for the money. I am really happy with this shaver and find it to be a great value.

Wet/Dry with Great Pivoting Blade
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This we/dry shaver has been great for every day shaves on sensitive skin. I like that it comes with a case, which is great for storage and travel. It includes a charging cable, but no wall plug. It does connect to usb type c chargers, though. I do wish both ends of the cable were usb type c, I don’t like having to carry another cable for single devices. Charing is quick though and a charge does seem to last a long time. There is also a convenient charge indicator displayed on the front of the shaver, making it easy to know when you need to charge it. The shaver itself has great pivoting blades. They contour better than other shavers I have used and just make it easy to get to difficult areas. I have sensitive skin and have no problem with this shaver, it is comfortable and doesn’t irritate my skin. I like that it can also be used wet or dry, this makes it perfect for using in the shower. It is also has a good grip, making it easy to hold and difficult to slip out of your hand - which is important when using it with wet hands. I also like the pop up trimmer, which is great for sideburns. Overall, it is a great shaver with pivoting blades, that is also a good value. Easy to recommend this.

Nice rechargeable waterproof shaver
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Philips Norelco shaver 3600 is rechargeable and waterproof. Those are my two favorite things about this shaver. Well, other than it shaves my face almost as well as my razor but probably as close as any electric shaver could do. I did not run it for 60 minutes but that will be great as well to keep it going for a month or two between charges since I don’t shave every day. The fact that I can just flip up the foil and rinse it under the faucet is great as well. I tried shaving in the shower and it seemed to shave my face even closer wet than dry. It makes me a little nervous using the shaver in the shower but the user guide says that all electrical connections are sealed in a waterproof compartment. The size of the shaver is also nice since it fits in my hand to allow better control while shaving. The pop up trimmer works great to trim other facial hair as well as my eyebrows. I am surprised how quiet the motor and blades are so I can use it in the mornings and not wake my wife if she is still asleep. Overall this shaver checks all the boxes for me.

Great little wet and dry shaver
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.PHILIPS NORELCO SHAVER 3600 Rechargeable Wet & Dry electric shaver with Pop-Up Trimmer and Storage Pouch Great little shaver – it has a nice feel and weight. It feels well-made And easy to control. The razor is light, feels good in the hand and has a good gripl. As stated in the guide there may be some irritation until your skin gets used to the shaver. Yes, it irritated my skin. I have a coarse beard and sensitive skin. They say up to 21 days to adjust. But after several uses, it no longer irritated my skin. It has a built-in trimmer. The shaver is easy to clean up just rinse it under the tap. It is recommended that the heads be replaced every year, but these are reasonably priced. I shaved half my face wet and half dry with comparable results. The wet side with shave soap seemed to get a close shave a little faster. It is waterproof, and you can use it in the shower, which is a nice feature. I usually use a blade to shave, and now I am happy with an electric razor. It is easy to use, fast, and can be taken with you and used on the fly. I also tried it dry, but after a preshave, it worked well, and this is the preferred dry method. I tried it wet with shave soap and shave gel. I would use this dry with a preshave when I am in a rush. But I prefer to use it wet with soap or gel as a close shave is faster and smoother. The battery has a long life. After running it for three days, there really isn’t much of a battery loss. The initial charge was quick.

Fantastic battery life, quiet, average shave
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. There's a lot to like about the Philips Norelco Shaver 3600, but it gives an average (typical) shave for electric shavers. Here's what I like: 1. The battery life is fantastic. The battery indicator has three levels, and after the battery reaches the last level it will start flashing red to indicate a charge is needed. I let the shaver run until the red light started flashing and it lasted a full 80 minutes on one charge. It is likely that the battery will consume a little more energy while actually shaving, but that's good for at least 15 x 3min shaves before it needs recharged. Philips claims that only 5min of charging will be enough for at least one shave and I found that to be accurate. 2. The shaver is very quiet. Seriously...quiet. I was rather amazed. 3. It is very easy to clean. 4. The trimmer works well. Here's what I was less impressed by: 1. It gives an average shave. Don't expect razor smooth, but it does ok. 2. The shaver is charged by a standard 5v USB charger, but a charger is NOT included. That's a serious oversight in my opinion. The problem is the ampacity of the charger can vary greatly and thus the time it takes to charge could be very different. Many simple 5v USB chargers are only 1A or even less. Philips recommends a 2A charger. 3. Philips does supply the USB charging cable, but it is a dedicated two prong cable and if something happens to the cable or you lose it you are out of luck.

Nice clean shave and good battery life
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been using Philips shavers for several years now and have always been pleased with their performance and their battery life. For the most part, the Philips Norelco shaver 3600 lives up to my expectaions. This wet and dry shaver has a very flexible set of blades that follow your face contours very well. This head is a little different than the past two shavers I have used and may not lift the hairs quite as well as the previous ones. Because of this, I do seem to have to go over some places a second time. This may not be a problem for everyone, but my beard is hard to cut and seems to grow in multiple directions on my neck, making it hard for many razors to get everything in one pass. The 5D head used on this model is refered to as comfort cut and are advertised as having anti-corrosion blades. Unlike some of my latest shavers, the 3600 does have a pop out trimmer. Not something I use a lot, but nice to have for evening out sideburns. This shaver is rechargeable and can be used wet or dry and to help keep track of how much power you have left, there is a three level battery charge indicator on the handle. It also has a nice non-slip rubber grip. This is a good shaver that does a very good job.
