This is the best electric shaver I have ever owned! I previously owned a Braun and this razor is far superior! It is very quiet and shaves very close. Highly recommend!

Finally a painless, bump-free rotary razor

I was reluctant to request this Norelco rotary razor because I’ve had multiple bad experiences with Norelco rotary razors in the past. In addition to twisting and pulling hairs, previous Norelco rotary razors caused me to also break out in numerous painful razor bumps. The electric rotary razors caused just as many bumps and ingrown hairs as a manual razor. From the moment I powered on and pressed the 7200 against my face, I could tell this was going to be a completely different rotary razor experience. For starters, it feels much more gentle against my skin. Gone is the painful twisting and pulling of whiskers of past Norelco razors. The 7200 feels more like a flat foil razor against the skin. It’s smooth, cuts cleanly, and doesn’t pull or twist whiskers at all. Shaving with the 7200 is completely pain-free. It is wet and dry shave capable although the skinglide coating works perfectly fine for me dry. Like most razors, the 7200 has a pop up long hair trimmer for touching up longer facial hair and sideburns. Norelco suggests allowing a few weeks for the shaver to fully adapt to your skin. I’ve only been using it for under a week but I already like the results so far.
The 7200 is compatible with the Philips shaving app which can be installed on a smartphone or tablet. The app pairs to the shaver through Bluetooth and provides useful tips and suggestions for optimal shaving results and comfort. It also has guided shaving modes for helping achieve the best results. Cleaning the 7200 after use is quick and easy. It has a convenient one push eject button that causes the hinged head to pop open for cleaning. I don’t use the optional cleaning pods but instead brush and blow away loose hair, followed by a water rinse and a quick spray of disinfecting, blade cleaning, lubricant spray after the head dries.
The 7200 is the rotary razor that people like me have been seeking. It’s a solid option for easily irritated skin and skin prone to razor bumps. If it can shave me without pain and bumps, I’m confident there aren’t too many faces out there that couldn’t tolerate this razor.

Had an old Braun that was a top of the line shaver. The new one is great, close shave, quiet and easy to clean. I did my research and this was highly rated. I understand why, great razor.

When it comes to grooming there is just one brand that I prefer and that is Philips Norelco. I used to spend a small fortune on disposable razors and I grew tired of that quickly. I went and changed to Philips and have not looked back. I have a few Philips products that I use to maintain a specific look that I like. I recently added the Philips S7887 to my collection of grooming tools.
:::General Impressions:::
Upon opening the box you’ll find a usb type a charging cable which is a huge plus in my book. USB charging is awesome especially if you are on the go you can plug into the wall, charge it via a portable battery bank or whatever you like. You have the instructions and a small cleaning brush.
Now looking at the grooming tool I can’t help but feel amazed because it is a really elegant design for a gentleman who cares about his looks. I like the design aesthetic it really is great. It is the typical design and is very lightweight and you won’t feel tired holding it for extended periods of time.
Setting it up was simple but prior to doing so I decided to charge it and I decided to do so for about an hour. There is an app that Philips offers and it is pretty neat it has informative videos because not every man has the same hair texture and beard/mustache type. In this instance one size doesn’t fit all so we don’t shave the same way.
::: Pros & Cons:::
Pros:
- Quick charging
- USB power cord for charging
- Great aesthetic
- Can be used wet or dry
- The razor heads are replaceable
- Offers a close shave with no irritation
Cons:
- My only complaint is that the battery will degrade over time like all products do but that is nothing to complain about really.
:::General thoughts:::
I mentioned earlier that I have a specific grooming routine and it includes other Philips products one for touch up, one for shaving, and one specifically for trimming and maintaining my hairline in a neat manner. I will show what I mean in a photo. I am really glad that I stopped with the expensive Gillette razors because they do not offer any of the versatility that my Philips products do.
:::TL;DR:::
I really love my Norelco products they are top notch and I enjoy adding any tool that will offer a better grooming experience to my collection. If this sounds like you then don’t hesitate to pick one up. Norelco has something for every guy. You will be glad that you did go and dump the disposable razors.

My New Go To Shaver

--- SETUP ---
This shaver includes a charger and the shaver, but no autowasher base. Just let it charge and begin shaving.
--- FEATURES ---
This shaver connects to a phone app and guides you to how to properly shave as well as gives you a timer for how long the shave should be. It can be used with wet/dry skin. Easy to clean blades that last up to 12 months.
--- PERFORMANCE AND EXPECTATIONS ---
I had no trouble connecting the shave to the app. The app is great for people new to shaving with this type of shaver, as it recognizes the rotation that the user is making while shaving. An arrow will move from green (approval) to red (need correction) zones to show the user how to properly shave. A timer is also running with the recommended amount of time to spend with the shaver, which is set to 3 minutes.
The app and the manual talk about redness that can develop with this kind of shaver. I have used a 3 headed blade shaver in the past, but compared to those, the experience I had with the Philips Norelco Shaver was the smoothest by far right out of the box. I didn’t experience any skin snags, and redness was minimal. It is recommended that you use the shaver for 3 full weeks before allowing your skin to adjust to the shaver, so your experience may vary. I use this shaver about twice per week and it is a great time saver to have a clean look throughout the week.
As far as cleaning goes, I ran water through the blades with the lid open to allow the shavings to fall off. I did a quick dry with a hair dryer and it was set to go. I used the included brush to remove any hairs that may have remained.
--- APPROVAL ---
Overall, this is an excellent shaver and the app makes it a perfect companion for a learning user. I am now making this my during-the-week shaver.

The shaver does a good job shaving, easy to clean and it’s quiet. Charge time is short and the USB cable is a good idea. It would have been a little better if they’d used a commonly used plug on the shaver end, instead of the proprietary plug. I recommend the product.

The shaver performs really well. Battery life is awesome with one charge enough for nearly 10 to 14 shaves.
I bought this item more than a month ago and quite satisfied with quality. However only one thing needs an improvement it does work perfectly on cheeks and jawline, it needs some design improvement while gliding it through the side of neck where its shaving roter doesnt glide and remove the shave as effectively as it does on rest of the face abd neck.... Overall good quality product and recommend if one looks for clean, smooth and nice shaving experience. It works both wet and fry however i would recommend using it wet.

Pretty much as advertised. I miss the older model that runs on AC power as well as DC but learning to like this one - two months after purchase. Very clean shave; easy to clean; useful indicator lights.

Great Replacement for My Older Norelco

A perfect replacement for my older model Norelco. It pays to shop around, as there are numerous combinations of things that come with the razor (priced accordingly, too). Yes, you can order replacement blade sets for your old razor, but mine developed an odd, intermittent "grinding" sound that was present some days but not others. For me, that meant it might be more than just replacing blades, so I opted for this, comparatively inexpensive replacement.
Two small things to consider. The newer razor's charging cord is not compatible with my older razor - the plugs are of a slightly different size. On the positive side, though, the liquid cleaning set still works, and additional packs remain available.
Great, reliable razor that has worked well for me, so I would recommend it if you do like yours (and the need for replacement does arise).

This 7200 shaves my face perfectly smooth dry or wet. I am amazed using it on daily basis and few days apart and love the clean smooth face result every time. It is the lightest in weight among other models. I use my phone's USB wall plug to recharge it via USB charging cable that it comes with. I also comes with a small pouch.
The pop up trimmer is not all that helpful and I personally don't use or care for that feature. I purchased this 7200 to replace my 24 years old Philips Philishave 5806 which was still working but not performing as it use to.
