Best electric Shaver
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I received this and set it to charge so I could test it out for my review. I used it the next day and was surprised how well it took care of the stubble on my face. It was very smooth compared to my other electric shaver. I down loaded the app and was able to get it connected easily. the app keeps track of my shaving pattern and tells me whether I am using it properly shaving in circles instead of up and down. I get no irritation from this shaver. Cleaning this is easy run under water and shake off the extra and put it on the cleaning block and power it up and 1 min later its done. I wait until the next morning to remove it to make sure it is dry before using it again.

This works well for me
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I just received this new Philips Norelco model S7783/84 Shaver. This is not my first electric shaver; I’ve had a number of them over the years. Some of them claim to work well with sensitive skin, an issue near and dear to me. When previously using an electric shaver, my face and neck would be bright red and would feel irritated for days. So, I thought I would give it another try with this shaver. To give it the best chance of success, I shaved after showering and used a shaving gel that I left on my face/neck for about a minute before starting, Wow! I had one of the most comfortable shaves ever. Quite surprising, since I used the same approach with other electric shavers. The shaver comes with a number of parts. There is the shaver itself, a brush to clean hair out of the rotary blades, the 2-part housing for the Quick Cleaning Pod, a cleaning cartridge for the Pod, a travel case for the shaver, and a charger. Regarding the cleaning cartridge, Philips Norelco recommends replacing the cartridge on the following schedule: • every 30 days - if you shave daily • every 2 months - if you shave a few times per week • every 3 months - if you shave once a week Now, this shaver is Bluetooth capable, so don’t forget to pair it to your phone during the app setup process. Doing so will allow you to better track your shaving efforts. The first thing I did upon receiving the unit was charge it. Once done, I downloaded the app and went through the setup process. The Quick Cleaning Pod (QCP) is essentially a 2-part plastic unit that you place the cleaning cartridge into. The bottom half holds the cartridge while the upper part is screwed onto the bottom half. The top part is where you sit the shaver when it needs cleaning. Just place the shaver head-down on the cleaning unit and press the shaver’s power button. The cleaning cycle runs for about 60 seconds. Once done, leave the shaver there until fully air-dried. In addition to its three rotary blades, the shaver has a trimmer on the backside for trimming sideburns and mustache (if it applies). Before using the QCP, run the shaver under warm water with the shaver turned on. Then turn the shaver to off. Next, press the release button to open the shaving unit (where the blades are housed). Flush out the hair chamber with warm water and the shaving heads. It’s at that point you would place the shaver in the QCP. This shaver is easy to use, it is light weight, and it has given me an outstanding and irritation-free shave. Philips Norelco recommends using the unit for about three weeks to allow your face and neck to fully adapt to the shaver. As someone whose face/neck has been previously incompatible with electric shavers, thus far my experience has been top-notch. I’m giving this shaver 5 stars.

Bluetooth Shaver which works GREAT.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.OK, you’re asking, “do I really need a shaver that connects with an app to my smartphone?” In my case that wouldn’t be a real reason to purchase it, but the fact that the shaver works amazingly well and has a self-cleaning system to boot and is sold at a fair price, I highly recommend it. I found this new Philips shaver actually shaves better and more comfortably than any of my previous shavers. I’m pretty old and have used electric shavers since back in the day when you had to keep them plugged into the wall while shaving and they buzzed loud enough to wake the whole house. This is in many ways such a huge improvement. This Philips is quiet, and it shaved me without irritation and quickly. It’s supposed to have a “smart hair sensor” which checks my hair density 125 times a second; maybe that’s why it works so well. I didn’t need to shave parts of my face over and over as with many other shavers. Then after each shave, you just open the head and rinse both the chamber and heads under the faucet. You’re finished in no time. The shaver also comes with an easy-to-use self-cleaning chamber with one “quick clean pod” which cleans and lubricates it. You just put your shaver upside-down in the chamber and turn it on. It automatically cleans itself and shuts off a minute later when done. The literature with the shaver says the solution in the pod is “10 times more effective than water.” Sounds good to me. If you use the pod once a week to clean your shaver, each pod should last 3 months. That’s what I’m going to do, rinse it under the faucet most days, then use the pod once a week. Now let’s talk about the most novel part of this shaver, the “Groomtribe” app which syncs with Bluetooth. When you turn your shaver, the app comes to life and gives you ‘hints’ about shaving. In real time it tells you to “Use smaller circles” while shaving or “You’re doing great, “Keep good skin contact,” etc. Then when you’re finished it tells you how long you were shaving and rates how well you did. It asks questions like “How much irritation did you feel?” and gives you hints to correct it. I found it fun to use the app, even if it’s not totally practical. One usually shaves while looking in a mirror, so to see what the app is advising you to do while shaving you have to hold it up with one hand while shaving and look back and forth from the app to your mirror continuously. After shaving, the app reminds you to clean your device. If you’re not married, this is what it’s like to have your wife there while you’re shaving reminding you not to forget anything, lol. Bottom line, I found this new Philips Norelco shaver to shave quickly with little or no irritation. The app along with the self-cleaning pod are just bonuses.

So Disapppointed
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the worst shaver I've ever used. Even the pop-out trimmer is utterly useless. I've been using it for six months thinking I just needed to get the hang of it (and coincidentally running out any return window) but it simply doesn't work. I once tried for 20 solid minutes to see if a complete shave was at all possible. It isn't. If you like first shaving with an electric and then actually shaving with a razor, this is the piece of garbage you've been looking for. Oh, and the "charging base" is actually just a cup of soapy water - you still have to plug the razor in with the cord. I've been using Philips-Norelco shavers for decades and this is my last one for sure.

Love the comfort and convenience!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Floating triple heads the ultimate comfort in less time shaving. Still full charge after 1 week of shaving and using cleaning cycle. Can't say enough amazing easy cleaning with included bowl and cleaner solution or just pop open head and rinse with water. Included pop out trimmer great for mustache trimming. Phone app works well a good reminder program but I'm just interested in a great comfortable smooth shave which I couldn't be happier. Well worth the money.

We highly recommend reading the user manual once again to learn about how you can maximize the use of the device and its attachments. Smooth Shave
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Philips Norelco Shaver 7500 probably provided the closest shave of all my electric shavers I currently have or have had. As with most shavers, you go through an initial adjustment/skin irritation when switching shavers. That was non existent for my situation. I guess the comfort rings did the trick. I normally do a dry shave, so I can't comment on a gel shave. The Li Ion battery should ensure that it lasts a long time with minimal battery memory drainage. Also I feel the motor runs stronger and smoother with this Philips Norelco Shaver 7500. It's also nice to have the sideburn trimmer as part of the shaver and not a separate attachment. The smart clean features I use about once a week to keep it running smooth. It cleans and lubricates at the same time. Ensuring most recent shave is as good as the first shave. I really am impressed with how smooth my skin feels after a quick shave with the Philips Norelco Shaver 7500. Will be keeping this shaver for awhile!

Great Quality, Clean Shave!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The quality of the build feels very good, the quality of the shave is excellent too. If it is your first time using a triple head electric shaver it may take you a few shaves before you get used to it. It was simple enough to sue without admittedly reading the instructions at first and i attempted to shave the traditional way like you would with a razor but circular motions are the way to go. The triple head design is very versatile and follows every contour without irritating your skin yet giving you a nice clean close shave. The added bonus of the cleaning chamber is very cool, it will auto sense it is in the chamber when you turn it on and the solution cleans the blades making cleanup so easy and only a minute long. The integrated pop up trimmer is also an added bonus for trim work and it leaves a nice straight edge. Overall it feels like a purchased a high end shaver and the results back it up.

Best Electric Razor I Have Ever Used
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have used many electric razors over the years, and this razor is by far the nicest one that I have ever used. After using it for a few days, I am very impressed with how well it works. It shaves as closely and comfortably as a manual razor. The three flexible blade heads glide perfectly over my face, and give me a perfect shave. There are cheaper razors out there, but if you want to treat yourself to the best shaving experience, then this electric razor is the one to get. I prefer to shave in the shower because with shaving gel I get the closest and smoothest shave in the shower. Preparing my face by washing it with soap and warm water really makes a difference. But it also works well if you are in a hurry and need to shave quickly before you go out the door. I have done this a few times and am very happy with the results. I shave my whole head every couple of days, and this razor makes that safe and easy. Because I have cut the top off my head with manual razors, I no longer use them. With practice I am easily able to shave my head and neck with this razor. The lithium-ion battery lasts for about 1 hour when fully charged. If the battery is depleted, a 5 minute charge will provide enough power for one quick shave. It takes about 1 hour to fully charge the battery from empty. I prefer lithium-ion batteries because they are reliable and can hold a charge a long time. This is important to me because I only shave 3 times a week and I like not being surprised by a dead battery. Since this is a wet/dry razor, it will not work when plugged in. This is a deliberate and sensible safety measure to prevent accidental electrocutions. The LED control panel makes the razor very easy to operate. A 3 level indicator shows the battery charge level. It also has a precision trimmer that can be used to trim sideburns, mustaches, and beards. Included is a protective cap, a power cord, Quick Clean Pod, and a nice soft storage bag. It is very nicely packaged in a box that makes an excellent present. The Quick Clean Pod comes with one pod that is rated to last up to 3 months, depending on the use. I have not used it for that long, but expect to get the full 3 months out of it since I do not shave every day. This system works quite well, and I will likely get more pods when I need them. I make sure to clean the razor using the Quick Clean Pod, or rinsing it under water, after every shave because a clean razor works much better.

Might be gimmicky, but I like it (and it works)
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's a razor. It's a shaver. It has Bluetooth. Wait, what? More on that in a second. The usual bits are there; ComfortGlide, SkinProtect, etc etc, all the stuff Philips Norelco has always provided us with to groom ourselves for years is still intact. You still have your pop-out trimmer for tidying up tight spots, lockable swivel head, but now there's some new bits thrown in to help end-users out with improving their shaving techniques and overall experience. Sensors adjust as you shave in real-time and over time to your specific hair. Gimmick? I don't know, I haven't done enough shaves prior to writing this review to say I notice a difference or not, but I've got nothing telling me otherwise, so I will hold out on having a firm opinion for another few months. More sensors (these being of the motion variety) track your individual shave habits. Stroke, direction, etc etc, and gives feedback on how to improve said habits. Gimmick? It states "3 shaves" required to improve, and while I've done 4, I either already shaved fairly ok or it needs a couple more to provide me with that information. So again, I can't give a firm opinion on this particular area at this time, but I do think in the next week or two it will update and provide me with some tips/feedback. Now, back to the Bluetooth. Bluetooth? Yeah, Bluetooth. Download the app (GroomTribe) and you'll get information on each and every shave you do. This is where you'll receive updates/improvements/feedback/techniques for each of the above mentioned items. Gimmick? I don't think so, but that could also be because I love information, stats and data no matter how ridiculously unnecessary it might seem to others. Now, if you aren't that type of person this will either be something you never use or something you make fun of. Either way, you shouldn't be purchasing this particular razer/shaver until you just like flushing money down the toilet. Having said that, I like this thing. It works well (as Norelco's always have for me) and provides continued improvements in the expected areas along with improvements in the completely unexpected areas. Even at full price this one is an easy recommendation for me. If you can find it on sale and you're looking for a razer it should be a no-brainer purchase.

Not Impressed
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I currently have a different model and while I do really like it, it could work little more efficiently with my skin and growth. While I get the job done well in the end, I usually have to go over the spots more times than I'd like with the way my beard seems to grow. My skin is sensitive so it would leave me with a fair amount of irritation as well. This is supposed to focus on these things, so is it an improvement? Yes and no. Either I have the most unusual growing, thickest beard hairs out there or all these shavers are just generally the same no matter how many times they release a new product saying it's new and improved in these areas. First the good: Overall it's a really nice design. It's lightweight and has a good amount of texture and grips to reduce the chance of it slipping out of your hand. It absolutely does move smoothly as if it just glides over the skin. I used it both before and after a shower (when your skin is softer) and I had less irritation either way. As Philips usually does, it also came with a really nice case. Now the not so good: Unfortunately I still feel like I need plenty of passes, as usual. No matter how much I went over my neck I still felt stubble so it didn't seem to give a completely close shave, either. It didn't fail to still give me a couple of nicks but perhaps it still needs to adjust to my face. The trimmer doesn't work that well. In my experience, they never do. You can't beat a standard beard trimmer. Then there's the app which just doesn't seem useful to me. I feel it has unrealistic expectations. How you use the device all depends on your personal growth so what the app tells you may not be what works best for you. I mean, if it's telling me I took too long and used inefficient rotations yet I spent that time trying to get spots that still just wouldn't cut smoothly, how much is really my fault? If it helps you great but I find it very counterintuitive. Also for those wondering the app to use is called "GroomTribe" which I could not find listed anywhere up front on the site, box or manual. You'd think it wouldn't be a big deal but according to the countless mistaken reviews on their "Lifestyle" app that proves otherwise. Finally, we have the cleaner device. I used the cleaner once for the purpose of this review even though I wouldn't have needed to otherwise for at least a month. After it finishes, they said to leave it on to air dry but it left enough suds in the shaver and on the device that it didn't really dry well so I had to rinse with regular water and air dry it with the head open anyway. I'm left wondering if it makes any real difference rather than just running it under water as normal. Supposedly it also lubricates and prolongs the life of the head but I suppose I'll see in time. It feels like something I rather have paid for separately if I really wanted rather than it being included and increasing the overall price. Luckily the solution is inexpensive. The bottom line here to me is with the trimmer not being useful, a counterintuitive app and a potentially unnecessary cleaner/solution, you're paying way more for an average product than you need to. I would have given 2.5 STARS but I can't do half stars. I left it at two because there is much to be desired. Maybe someone else will have a better experience but for me, in the end, the whole package just doesn't justify the purchase so to speak. PROS: - Light weight with nice grips making it comfortable to hold - Glides smoothly, less irritation CONS: - Trimmer - Not the closest shave - Unnecessary accessories/features increasing price

Posted .Hello, thank you for taking your time to leave this review. We are very sorry to hear that your experience with our shaver was far from perfect. Please allow us to suggest a few tips that can improve your experience. It is possible that the performance of your shaver has declined because it is dirty. There can be hair or dirt particles stuck inside it, causing the shaving heads to don’t function correctly. To fix this problem, properly clean your shaver. If possible, remove the shaving heads and clean your shaver from the inside as well. When you shave with your Philips Shaver, you will achieve optimal results if you make slow circular movements with the shaver over the face. While shaving, it is important to be gentle, especially if you have sensitive skin prone to irritation. Do not press the shaver too hard against your skin. Only apply a gentle pressure which makes your facial hair stand upright and makes it easier for the shaver blades to catch and cut them. And lastly, another reason why your shaver might not be working properly is that it is not assembled correctly. For full instructions on how to reassemble your shaver, please refer to the following video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f5bqHBspQLo. Posted .Hello, thanks for your feedback.
We are sorry to hear you aren't entirely satisfied with your Norelco shaver. We'd like to suggest a few tips which may help you improve your shaving results:
1. Pre-trim your long facial hair, if you have not shaved for a couple of days and/or have a heavy beard.
2. Be gentle. Only apply a gentle pressure on your skin, which makes your facial hair stand upright and makes it easier for the shaver blades to catch and cut them.
3. Move the shaver on your skin in circular movements to cut all hair growing in different direction.
4. Try both dry and wet shave, to see which one suits best your skin and hair type.
