I have used Norelco 5000 series for years, so it was time to pass it down to my son and upgrade! I didn't realize I was getting a state of the art connected device that's still capable of wet or dry shaves! The unit comes with the razor unit, charging cord, pop-up trimmer, and a cleaning base! You cannot use the razor while it's charging! The cleaning base is powered by the razor, and unlike some others doesn't complicate the process by doubling as a charging stand. It's a round base that I can put in/out of the cabinet as needed. AND the razor will tell you when it's needed! This razor has no controls on the unit other than the on/off button. There is a built-in display that will let you know the battery charge level, a cleaning notification, and a SenseIQ icon that changes color based on whether you are using the optimal shaving motion for the unit. The Philips GroomTribe app is the heart of the shaving experience. You can create a shaving plan based on your shaving preferences, how often you shave, and your level of irritation. You have the option of just shaving and the app will track your time and show you the efficiency of your shaving motion. The more efficiently you shave the less time you'll spend shaving which will result in less irritation. There's also GuidedShave option times your shave and there's a graph that gives real-time feedback in regards to your shaving time/motion. The shaver has an improved head design that allows for more motion resulting in a closer shave since the foils can follow your face more closely. After 6 "normal" shaves including 3 GuidedShaves the unit still has an 80% charge. The unit does not need the app to function, and if you don't have your phone with you the previous shaves will sync the next time it connects. In my opinion, the unit shaves as well or better with shaving cream as a manual multi-blade or safety razor. As will all electric razors it takes a week or so to "condition" your face, and that applies if you switch from a straight foil type to a rotary. But once that's done you will get a shave as close as a standard "blade" without the hassle or ongoing expense.

The shaving surface is a little larger than I am accustomed to using, plus each head is shaped with edges instead of the more typical circular shape. Even so, it does provide a really good, close and comfortable shave unless you need to use the pop-up trimmer which I found to be rather useless. The sense IQ technology is rather cool and it linked up to my phone very easily. Even so, I did not find this feature very useful. It comes with a cleaner included which will likely work really well if I ever use it.

The Norelco 7500 electric shave has so many new features that help you achieve a comfortable and fast shave. The shaver comes equipped with a very nice carrying case, power cord, quick cleaning pod, and a small cleaning brush. The shaver has a built-in gyroscope that acts as a motion control sensor which works in conjunction with the app (more on that later). The shaver is equipped with skin protect blades that offer a nice comfortable shave, which makes it easy on your skin to avoid razor bumps and skin irritation. The 360 deg contour heads, flex and pivot to bend to the shape of your face - giving you a precise shave. After each shave you place the shaver inside the quick cleaning pod, push the power button and let it clean itself in about a minute. The cleaning pod is very useful and convenient, as it does a really good job at deep cleaning the razor which saves a lot of time. The shaver is also equipped with bluetooth, so it can connect to the dedicated app and give it a reading on how you shave. With the help of the gyroscope, it can tell if you're properly turning the shaver, as well as positioning it the right way. The shaver has a built-in chip that sends data to the app, which in turn tells you things like I just mentioned, as well as how long you take to shave. In the app, you can set up your own custom shave plan that detects if you are shaving right. I know that sounds a little weird having an app tell you how to shave...but it actually is really useful and helpful information. One of the main purposes of the plan, is to help you eliminate things such as skin irritation, razor burn and so forth. By allowing it to use the data on how you're shaving, it can then tell you if you're shaving too hard, not rotating it properly, or even shaving too long. If you're someone like me who has very thick facial hair, then you're no stranger to skin irritation and redness from shaving. As a result, I can't use electric shavers due to how badly they irritate my skin. But with the Norelco 7500, I have finally found an electric shaver that gets the job done well and doesn't cause irritation. That's the best part about the app and all the features this shaver offers. It allowed me to see how I was shaving, either too long, or not doing it in the correct motion. Lastly, the shaver has a nice built-in rechargeable battery that lasts up to 1 hour. That might not seem like much, but it really is. Especially if your shave is suppose to be around 4 min a shave. The battery also charges very quickly, which is something I have not seen in an electric razor before. Once plugged in, you can get a full charge from 0-100% in one hour. Overall, I am very impressed the Norelco 7500. The amount of features this shaver has is insane. Plus, the built-in battery lasts awhile and charges fast. With the dedicated app, this is where the shaver really reaches its full potential, by using how you shave and giving you tips on how to improve. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who needs a new electric shaver.

Being 46 and never once using an electric razor I was skeptical but using good manual blades is getting rediculous in cost. I am what you call a lazy shaver so every 2 or 3 days depending on how far I can push it. So far this razor has been super impressive. I have got a clean shave and no razor burn or cuts at all. The couple shaves I did were dry which I wouldn't even attempt with a regular razor. Maintenance is minimal and the time to shave is about the same. There is a smartphone app to track and help your technique. I'm sure I will definitely peak at it on occasion but I consider it a luxury not a requirement. It definitely is helpful though but the important thing is realistically a good clean shave and this is a winner so far. I would definitely recommend it.

Quick facts 1. Looks cool. 2. Comes with cleaning solution and stand in one thing. 3. In use it feels weak like it's not doing much, which I don't like 4. Has app connectivity which coaches you to a more efficient shave. Overall, I like using it, but the weak motors kinda kills the mood. Also the ideal shaving stat apparently is 3 mins or less and tight circle motions. Use of app is totally optional unless you want to be coached.

The razor blades, very low quality, after a month they no longer cut hair correctly.
