The Phillips Satin Shave Essential is very impressive. I thought it would not be that good considering the relatively low price point and the fact that they also sell one that is twice as much. Boy was I wrong the Phillips satin shave is very powerful and the design is perfect for trimming or shaving clean without worrying about hurting yourself. This product is very well made and has some weight to it. I assume because it has a fairly beefy motor in it. It is very easy to use and ergonomically friendly. Not only that you can use it for wet or dry shaving and in or out of the shower. It also has a detachable head for easy cleaning and is the perfect size to carry with you on trips. It uses two replaceable AA batteries that are provided in the box. That way you have no rechargeable built-in battery that can wear out. This little gem is just a great value. If you are looking for something like this it will work anywhere on your body and you just can not beat the price. I would definitely recommend it to anyone that wants to stay smooth and sexy!

The Philips SatinShave Essential Women’s Cordless Electric Shaver is a basic no frills shaver. The box states that it is an "all-round" shaver which is quite perplexing to me. The shaver does have edges, as does a normal shaver, and it isn't round. I do believe they they meant an "all-around" shaver - meaning it can be used for your entire body. There are those edges, but there is no storage pouch which I would prefer. The package includes a very small cleaning brush that I almost threw away because it is so tiny and comes in a slot in the internal packaging. This shaver shaves quickly and efficiently. It isn't the closest shave I have ever had - I find that it doesn't shave as close as I would like on my legs. I can still feel those little nubs after shaving, but for this price-point I wouldn't expect a perfectly close shave. It is comfortable in my hand and light-weight, The box states that it is a wet and dry electric shaver. And it does indeed work in the shower which is always a plus for me. It is powered by 2 AA batteries, which are included. Overall, I would say the Philips SatinShave Essential Women’s Cordless Electric Shave is a handy, small shaver that can be used over most of the body that does a decent job of shaving. For me, it works great as a travel shaver and that is my intended use. It comes with a 2 year warranty but that excludes the foils and cutters. So not sure what exactly the warranty would cover. I would recommend it as a travel shaver but definitely not as your go-to daily (or weekly) shaver.

The Phillips Satin Shave Essential can be used in the water while showering. In addition, without bathing showering. The product was tested using water, shaving cream, and without shaving cream. The shaver did pretty good. Had to go over the area approximately two times. The design of the shaver curved good with my skin. I did not experience any nicks, as with regular shavers. On each side of the razor there are two pink buttons that can be pushed to help release the top part of the shaver to clean the shaver and remove any hair left over. In addition there is a white button that slides up and down to turn the shaver on. The battery compartment is quite snug and is hard to get off due to them having a rubber in the groove of the shaver. This is built in to keep water from going into the battery compartment while shaving. While I understand the importance of not having water go into the battery compartment, would like to see button built in the future, to make the compartment easier to release when changing out batteries. This is the reason for the 4 star review and not the 5 star review. Is this a deal breaker, no. If you have someone that can assist you with first removing the battery covery in the beginning, eventually, the cover will come off more easily. I also would like to see an additional setting on the shaver. Currently there is only one setting. This is not a deal breaker either, merely an observation on what I would like to see in the near future. Pros: Shaves Good Battery is Quite Secure Easy to Clean with the button release Did not experience any nicks of the skin. Smooth Shaving experience Cons: Would like to see buttons in the battery compartment area or maybe side grips to help with pulling the battery compartment off with ease. Currently there are lines towards the front. Think adding those on the sides might help too. Would also like to see other colors offered. This is not a deal breaker, just a preference. Overall a nice product. I will continue to use the shaver. Thank you for allowing me to test the product.

The Philips SatinShave battery operated shaver is a decent option for shaving my legs, especially on the go. The SatinShave can be used wet or dry, this is extremely convenient when you don’t have time to use shaving cream. The batteries are not rechargeable. They are standard AA batteries and 2 come with the shaver. The unit is waterproof and has a plastic cover for the working end to be protected while not in use. My biggest use for this shaver will be the dry shaving option. I used it in the shower and didn’t get as close a shave as a razor. If I’m going to bother using shaving cream, I will use the old fashion option because the results are a little bit smoother. Additionally, it took just as long to use the shaver in the shower as a standard razor. Also, I found I had to repeat areas to try to get a nice close shave. Using the SatinShave on my armpits was very uncomfortable because of the clipper edges that are present on both sides of the shaver. I didn’t realize how much it was grating on my curves in the arpits, and they were very scratched up afterwards. It burned that night and took 48 hours to full resolve. I used hydrocortisone cream on my pits to soothe the scratched skin. I may get a less painful result if I pay close attention to the clipper edges of the shaver. If this is the case, there should be much better instructions about armpits and the clipper edges irritating those tight, curved spaces. To recap, using it on the legs is great, the armpits, not my cup of tea for this device. It can shave most any area of the body. It did work on the lady parts, if that area needs shaving, it can do the job. I’d use extreme caution though with the clipper edges.

This is my first try at an electric shaver. It was fast and painless. This shaver did the job on my underarms and legs and just a couple of minutes. I used it the shower to contain the hairs, and didn't use any shaving cream. I was impressed at how less irritated my skin was using this product rather than a regular razor. It just takes 2 AA batteries; no cords, no chargers. My one complaint is that the shave is not quite as close and smooth as a regular razor. I've read that's a common issue with electric shavers, so this one is no different. However, my hair grows so fast that I will definitely opt to use this shaver over a regular one any day of the week. And with summer coming up, I can't wait to use this to maintain my bikini line. This will be perfect for all the summer vacations I have planned. And then the value of this product! For less than $20, you too can have a convenient little electric shaver to keep the hair away quickly and comfortably. Highly recommend!

I was seriously impressed with the smoothness of the shave. It’s a simple, easy to use device that does one job and does that job pretty darn good. And, it’s not only for women, but can be used for men when tackling body hair. It’s versatile in the sense that it can be used in the shower and dry. It does take a few extra swipes to tackle longer hair (I’m talking about men’s back hair), but otherwise it does a great job. It has a nice heft to it, where it’s not too heavy, but it doesn’t feel like hollow plastic. It’s easy to hold and manuever. In the box you’ll get the shaver and a pair of AA batteries. I wish this had a rechargeable battery, but I’m confident that’s one of the ways they can keep the cost down. In an event, the battery compartment is rather difficult to take off, but that’s somewhat understandable as it needs to be waterproof. Operation is dead simple, there’s no speeds or lengths, just an on/off switch. THe shaver head comes off easily to allow you to clean it. I haven’t had it long enough to know if/when the shaving foil/cover needs to be replaced but it supposedly lasts 12 months depending on care and usage. Basically, when it stops delivering great results you need to replace it. Replacement heads appear to be reasonably priced which is always nice - I’m always considering the maintenance costs of my devices. My wife used it in the shower and reported results as good as a razor - with no shaving cream. She’s extremely pleased. I’ve used it to shave some of the hair on my upper arms and shoulders and it beats the hair trimmer I typically use which still leaves a small stubble. This shaver takes it down to the skin delivering a close too, if not equal to, a razor shave. Now, my hair was long, so it took a number of swipes - there’s a trimmer if you will on the edges which cut the long hair, then the foil in the middle of the head delivers the real results of smoothness. Honestly, at this point I can’t think of any downsides. It’s a very nicely priced device that replaces the mess of razors and cream - and replacement razor heads. It’s certainly quicker to use, all while delivering good results. I guess the only concern might be it getting damaged in the water, but honestly, the battery compartment is so snug (and if you’re showering it’s not like it’s sitting in water) I don’t really think it’s much of a concern. It is made of plastic, so I guess if you drop it in a tile shower it might eventually crack, but that issue is present in virtually any plastic device. All-in-all, it’s a great product for women who want to simplify their hair removal routine, and it’s great even for guys with lots of body hair.

The Philips Lady Shave is a battery operated wet/dry electric shaver. In the box you get the shaver, 2 AA batteries and the user manual. It is ergonomic, very light weight and attractive. Battery compartment is located at the bottom and is easily accessed by simply pulling the lower panel down. Battery operation is more convenient than having to remember to recharge. It's also more better for travel. You don't have to remember to bring the charger. The blades have a protective plastic cover. To clean the blades just push 2 buttons on the opposite sides of the shaver and pull the top off. You can clean the blade section with a brush (not included), however, since this is a wet/dry shaver, you can simply run the blade compartment under the faucet. The shaver works great. You get a close, smooth, comfortable shave without irritation. Works well on both legs and underarms. The only negative is that it runs pretty loud. However it stays cool during operation. Overall, this is a great shaver at a great price. I would highly recommend this product.

good price for a cordless shaver. Battery operated a plus/minus because it is cordless but can't be recharged via outlet, needs new batteries. I am older and had a difficult time opening up the battery compartment. Very tight and difficult to open and close. Other than that it did an excellent shaving job, very quick.

I got this electric razor because I wanted to try something different. It worked great. It got a close shave without cutting my skin. It left my skin smooth and soft. It came be used wet or dry. It does come with a small brush to help clean the razor blades. It works by batteries which the battery cover protects the device from getting wet and malfunction. I really like the razor and I would recommend it to others.

My cousin told me not to even open the box when i brought it home... we have "thick" body hair, and she said this particular shaver takes twice as long to shave as with a razor in the shower, and it also doesn't trim very close to the skin. She returned hers after only one use, and I returned mine without opening the box.
