My experience with the Philips SatinShave has been pretty good and was about what I expected from a battery-operated shaver at this price point. The weight and feel of the shaver are good and Philips did a good job designing the shape and layout of the controls and buttons. I tried both a dry and wet shave with fairly good outcomes for each. I'd probably lean towards the wet shave, but it's nice to have the option to dry shave in a pinch. Best results are achieved by going over an area of your skin at least twice, but even with this it takes no time at all to do a quick leg shave. When finished, simply detach the head of the shaver and clean it out with the small brush Philips has included, and then rinse with water and allow to fully dry.
For those that travel, this shaver is a nice option given its fairly compact size and a travel cap is provided. No cords to worry about as it is battery operated which makes it even better for travel. For home use, a charging option would have been nice, but then the price point of this shaver would likely not be what it is now. I do think a traditional razor blade gives a closer shave, but this is a nice option to have, and blades are a pretty expensive item to constantly replace. I think the one thing that would make this shaver better is if it did a perfect job in one pass, but perhaps that is the nature of electric shavers. Since this is the first electric shaver I have tried for my legs, I'm not sure if that is the case. It's a great price and comes with a two-year warranty so I'd recommend giving it a try.

Good Basic Shaver

Just like the title says... this is a good, basic shaver. It does what it's supposed to do. There's really nothing special about it, but its affordable, which makes it a great option for someone looking for an inexpensive electric razor.
Because of its wet or dry functionality, you can use this shaver in or out of the shower. Possibly being seen as a pro or con, this razor is cordless and battery-powered. It is nice to be able to use it right out of the box, with the included AA batteries. Then again, you'll need to keep replacing the batteries when they die. I haven't had mine shaver long enough to say just how long the batteries will last. The shaver is small and lightweight, making it easy to take with you when you travel. It comes with a razor cover, but it doesn't seem to stay on too well. One thing this shaver does not do is trim. It's designed for shaving, not trimming, so it may not be the best option for trimming pubic hair.
Overall, this is a good shaver for a very affordable price. If you want more versatile shaving and trimming options, and not have to use batteries, then you'll need to look elsewhere.

Basic but Good

This Philips SatinShave ladies shaver is simple to use, and while definitely pretty basic, really does do a good job.
It is battery powered, instead of being 'plug-in' electric or rechargeable. Two AA batteries are included so you can get started using this shaver right away. Plus, there's the usual tiny cleaning brush and blade cover, as well. It does not come with a carrying pouch for travel use. But cleaning the shaver is a simple task.
I will say that I do prefer using this Philips shaver 'dry' rather than in the shower. But that's just me. I've tried it out both ways, and the results are pretty much the same. Though, it does seem as if I can really feel the blade gliding across my skin while 'dry' shaving, and it's certainly not as pleasant versus shaving with shave cream.
The only real downside I can think to mention is that the smooth plastic surface of the shaver can make it a bit more tricky to hold onto if you were to use it in the shower.
Overall, this Philips SatinShave ladies shaver is inexpensive and easy to use. You will absolutely get a nice smooth shave.

This Phillips SatinShave Essential Women’s Shaver is a must have. I have tried women’s razors before, but I have never really liked one like I do this one. I do like that it is battery operated, and not rechargeable. I don’t always have a way to charge things when I am traveling and in a hurry. This makes it much more convenient for me. It’s easy to use, easy to clean, and gets a closer shave than I actually expected. It comes with two AA batteries, and I have used this razor every day on my legs and other areas, every day for a week. I have not had to change the batteries. It has not lost any power or strength at all. It comes with a pink cover to cover the blade, and it only goes on one way. It fits well. This is a very small handheld razor that can be used in the shower or dry. I used it before my shower to see how it would do dry versus how it would do in the shower. I prefer using it in the shower, although it worked very well dry. I just like having the moisture in the shower, as I feel like it glides better. No cuts or nicks!

I got this shaver for my wife to use when traveling or if in a hurry. This is quicker than stnadard shaving. I use an electric shaver daily currently and like the convenience, and she liked the idea of doing that when traveling (no shave lotion or cream to add to travel kit anymore). I had a single foil shaver like this for 5 years and liked it, and it did a good job. This seems to do the same. I admit I tried it on my face first to compare to my 4 foil shaver I have now. This does pretty good, but 3 to 4 more passes to achieve the reasonable shave like my other. For me, 24 hours is the time before the stubble is pretty prickly with my bigger unit, this was the same. Irritation was minimal, same as my other, and comparable to conventional razer. My wife does note things stay unprickly for about 24 to 36 hours, regular razor still about 48 before really noticing for her legs. That being said. Edging took on either side does ok also. At this price point, this works as well as models 3 times it's price. I had a single foil model at that price point for 5 years before it's foil broke and replacements were not available for that model anymore. This is perfect for the role of travel shaver because no cord to travel with, batteries generally always readily available, but so far charge is good for over a week, and still going pretty strong. And if it gets roughed up or misplaced, not out much (God bless baggage checks) Rinsing is easy, pop the head off and run it under water. Overall. I'm pretty impressed with this shaver. Definitely reccomend thus as of now. It's still right at a week of owning and we'll have to see if it stays durable. For now 5 stars.

This is a nice electric shaver, but I feel like some improvements can be made to it. It works really well when i use it dry, but I tried using it in the shower since it is a wet/dry shaver and I was not impressed at how it felt while I was shaving. It felt as if I was going to cut my skin the whole time I was using it in the shower so I stopped. I really do like using it as a dry shaver, but I dont like using it while my skin is wet. It really is convenient and works really well, but I gave it 4 stars only because I feel like using it wet did not feel smooth and easy on my skin. The shaver came with the cover, 2 batteries and a cleaning brush. The battery compartment is tightly secured, which is great since it can go in the shower so no concerns for me in that area. I love the feel of the device and how cute it is with the pink and white colors. I have had it over a week and the battery is still going strong, as expected since I dont use it daily but maybe every few days. Overall I would say this is a nice shaver and maybe someone else may not have the same experience as I did while using it in the shower.

Not as close as a blade
|

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
My wife refers to this as a daily maintainer. It does not get as close as a blade but gets close enough to keep up until a blade is needed.
It is powered by two AA batteries. I was surprised at this not being a rechargeable razer, most on the market today are USB rechargeable. As the AA batteries drain down the shave become more sporadic. The good news, the batteries have a pretty good lifespan.
I tries it on my face, it is hard to get a tug even on ling hairs. It gets pretty close to the skin, but it is not smooth.
A lot depends on the thickness of your hairs. My wife and I both have thick hairs so I would not expect too close of a shave. Fairer haired people should have much smoother shaves.
Overall the unit is built quite well. The blade cover does come off quite easily. The cleaning brush is small and I think we already lost it. But as far as performance goes, this does a fine job, just not as close as a blade will get us. It is water proof, so definitely a wet shave works better. If the water is hot enough the shave is considerably closer.

This Philips Lady Shave is a pretty razor that gives a gentle, smooth shave to underarms and legs.
Unpacking the razor, at first sight it is a pretty pink and white razor with the necessary batteries included to use right away. The razor fits nicely in my hand and is light to give great control while using. Instructions included if needed for use and maintenance.
After inserting the batteries and removing the head cover it's ready for use. The button in front for powering on and off works smoothly with no effort.
I have thin, light hair that grows very slowly so I can't say how it would work with thicker, heavier hair. For my needs this razor works great. It's quiet, has plenty of power for my needs, it's gentle and leaves my skin smooth.
I like that it can be used wet or dry as I mostly shave in the shower, but if I feel I need a touch up between showers I can do that quick and easily.
Afterward, cleaning the head is done by pushing in on the two side buttons to remove the head so it can be cleaned under running water then leaving it to air dry. The head can then just be pushed back into place.
Simple, pretty, gets the job done. All I need in a razor.

This razor is one of the best that I have ever had. One of the things that I noticed about this shaver is the closeness of the shave. You have one side that is for a shave not so close and one for a closer shave. the guard on the shaver ensures that you don't get too close to cut yourself but close enough to get a nice clean shave. This shaver works on dry skin as well as in the shower. I did notice that when you dry shave it doesn't chafe the skin when used, so if you are in a rush and need a nice little touch up, this is wonderful. The shaver is a bit loud but that's fine. One of the downfalls about this shaver is that when you are dry shaving, there isn't a place for the hair to fall into so when you are shaving, the hair kinda just goes all over the place so if you can, shave in the shower. it comes with shaver lubricant and a little brush so you can clean it off after you are done. I would recommend not putting the cap on the shaver until it dries completely so it does not rust. Overall, this is a wonderful shaver and I would highly recommend it

The Philips Satin Shave Essential shaver is great for shaving wet or dry. Whether it is used in the shower or on the go it is convenient and easy to operate. I got this for my teenage daughter and she had no issues using it and felt comfortable holding it and taking it apart for easy cleaning. There is a clear pink cover that goes over the blades to protect them but this makes it easy to put the shaver in a bag or toiletry bag for traveling. It is relatively small enough that it does not take up too much room either. It comes in white and pink which my daughter thought was cute and nothing like her dad's manly razor. Changing the batteries was simple enough, just slide the cap off and replace them. My daughter was surprised at how quiet the electric shaver was, initially she was intimidated using a electric shaver but she was pleasantly surprised and relieved. I 100% would recommend this shaver to any woman, young woman, or young teen. It was easy and safe for my daughter so I feel comfortable recommending it.

Better than any shaver marketed for men by a mile

So I will start this review of about Philips lady shaver and divulge I am no lady. What I am is a body builder who shaves pretty much every part of his body on a consistent basis. I know people say this a lot but I really do mean it, I have tried literally every shaver out there that’s marketed for men. I mean every single one. I currently have 16 different shaver under my sink as I write this not including the dozens I have thrown out because they were useless. No matter what shaver I used it would never get a close shave and if it did get close I had ingrown hairs everywhere it was a nightmare. I would always go back to razors. But I’ve learned something from all my experience with razors and that is for some reason even regular razors that are made for woman are always better. Even my normal razor is a Venus because it just gets a closer smoother shave. Well the same goes for now the electric body shavers. The lady shaver is pink and marketed to woman but just don’t care. 1. It’s battery operated which makes my life easier. Nothing is worse than mid shave and it dies and you have to wait for a charge. This alone is a huge jump for me. 2. This thing gets close and I mean close. No peach fuzz feeling when I’m done shaving my forearms or chest. 3. No and I mean zero ingrown hairs from this thing. I made sure I waited a few weeks to review this and a dozen shaves to make sure and nope not a one. This thing is winner and if Philips was smart they should be marketing this to everyone. Use the same exact razor make it blue and slap on manshaver title and you’ll see your profits double.

The Philips SatinShave Essential Women’s Electric Shaver for Women is a perfect addition to any lady's grooming routine, especially if she wants the smoothness of a razor without the cuts, nicks, and bumps often following a traditional razor blade. This device brings 5 blade closeness with the speed and safety of electric razors. Under arms, legs, and those other places we do not need to mention, all are safe and smooth when you are done with the SatinShaver.
My wife found this to be a great alternative to the stand-on-your-head routine in the shower. She was able to get all the areas needed, especially the legs around the ankles without getting cut or nicked in the process. She found it to be great under the arms for a quick shave before getting dressed for the day. She particularly likes the speed and ease that this created without the need for shaving cream or soap to get the job done.
PROS
- Philips brand and quality, always on spot!
- Water or dry, this does it all
- Easy to use
- Easy to clean
- Cost-savings over razor cartridges
- Quick charge last several days to a week easy
- Great for travel
CONS
- None at this time.

OK For The Price, Does The Job

For the economical price of this women's electric shaver, it does the job pretty much as expected. I like that it operates on batteries and so it is cordless; that is a big convenience. It is great to be able to use it dry for quick touch-ups or wet in the shower with shaving cream/soap. It comes with a "travel cap"--a plastic cover that goes over the shaver head for when it is stored away or for travel, which is also a plus. There is also an included small cleaning brush. The shaving unit head comes off easily for quick cleaning, which can be done with the cleaning brush or via running tap water.
I would say that for the comparatively inexpensive price point of this electric shaver, it does an a somewhat average job--not great, but not bad either. I found that it works better on longer hairs versus stubble because when I wanted to do quick dry touch-ups on stubble, it would invariably miss a lot of the stubble hairs and I would need to go over areas several times before it would pick up most everything. I usually do not want to wait until areas that I normally shave on a regular basis have longer hairs before I would shave them, such as leg and armpit hairs, so I really wish this electric shaver would do a better job with stubble hairs.

The Electric Leg Shaver You've Been Looking For

This Phillips shaver is the real deal. It's marketed as anything below the neck line is what this product is designed for. It runs on two AA batteries which is a nice change of pace instead of finding it out it's low on battery and you have to plug it in and wait for it to charge. The head is very easy to clean just pop it out and empty/rinse off in the trash.
It is dry or wet shaver so long as you don't get the battery compartment opened up in the water. I wanted to give it a good real world test. Full disclosure I'm a guy and decided to take this thing to my legs just to see how well it performs. Let me tell you it performs.
In a time span of 20 minutes I went from full hairy guy legs to smooth and clean shaven. I did a dry shave and it went great! I was really impressed how easily it took off the hair without pain or irritation, cleaning the head was simple when it got jammed up. It's sensitive enough for private parts as well too, I assume lady parts apply.
I looked through the manual and I didn't see an eta on the life of the razor head but I would suspect at least a year of shaving before it needs replaced.
Overall would recommend if you want an easy electric leg shaver if it could take out my hair then casual up keep on already shaven legs will be no problem.

If you need a good electric shaver, always consider Philips, whether you are man or woman. From my experience, men’s models are very good to great. When manscaping tender body parts, safety and comfort are requirements. The shaver I use is a Philips that I have had for a good while. It works well overall. However, the scrotal area where the skin is crinkly, not smooth, usually gets at least one pinch. Not a nice feeling at all, so I don’t do it as often as I would like.
The opportunity to try out the Philips SatinShave for women arose. Despite it being pink and white, I thought why not try it. I am glad I did, because I accomplished the task without inflicting any “ouch” moments for the crinkly skin. Wet or dry, it performs very well. A hypoallergenic foil cover helps prevent irritation and rashes. Because of this painless and quick process, “scaping” for men or women can be done quickly and more often.
Men, if you want to facilitate manscaping activity, don’t be embarrassed to pass on the usually black shavers for men. Go pink with the Philips SatinShaver for those tender body parts. Plus, you can share it with a special lady if that helps with a decision to buy. Even better, buy her a SatinShave of her own. Yes, pink is the new black for shaving those tender parts.

The Philips Women's Personal Hygiene electric shaver lets you shave your legs and prevents irritation, which is sometimes associated with a bit of trimming. This Philips electric shaver is cordless battery-powered (using two AA batteries). I found the Philips Women's Personal Hygiene electric shaver to do a decent job shaving, although at times I thought I to exert too much pressure to get decent results. I have used better battery powered shavers in the past and did not think the Philips Women's Ladyshave were what I expected when cleaning up a bit. The design of the Philips Women's Personal Hygiene electric shaver is compact and ergonomic along with being visually appealing with a pink accent. I can not tell you what the expected life of the shaver, but given the lower cost if you left it somewhere during your travels you wouldn’t be calling the hotel seeking its return. >>> Pros >> Pink >> ergonomic >> budget friendly <<< Cons << not durable << mediocre performance << not rechargeable

I got this for my wife as she has been looking for an electric shaver.
Pros:
She loved the color of this Philips Satin Shave electric shaver (the next thing she said was what other colors does it come in?) She loved the weight and how the shaver felt in her hand, that it was contoured to fit smaller hands. She loves the fact that she can use this shaver in the shower and also use it without showering. She loves the fact that she can use batteries and not have to use a cord or keep up with a cord to charge this shaver. She likes that it is compact enough to carry in her toiletries section of her suitcase as she travels.
Cons:
She tried the “dry” shave of her legs and found that it was not very comfortable and was almost painful that she couldn’t finish. She also noticed that if she didn’t use the shaver in the shower she didn’t get a close shave on her legs. The same was true for her armpits, to the point she could not finish the shave. Even w/ the use of my shave butter it still did not allow her to get as close of a shave as a normal razor.
All in all she likes it and will continue to use it.
