Customers are saying

Customers consistently note the 4100 Power Toothbrush's excellent cleaning ability and long battery life as significant advantages. Many appreciate its ease of use and the included timer, while some find the brush head size smaller than expected and express concerns about the charging method and cost of replacement heads. The positive feedback on cleaning performance and battery life outweighs the negative comments regarding size and charging. A travel case is also mentioned as a missing feature by some users.

First impression: My first impression of the Philips Sonicare 4100 is that it is well made, sturdy, well documented, and easy to use. It comes with the toothbrush, a hygienic head cap, a well written user manual, and a USB cable. Some models come with a travel case, but the 4100 does not. It does not come with a power adapter for charging, only a USB cable. At first, I thought this was odd, but I looked and I have 8 unused power adapters in a drawer. So, in reality, I don’t need the adapter. Plus, in my bathroom, the AC wall plate has USB charging connections, so I wouldn’t need one anyway. If you do need a power adapter, reach out to them and they will send you one. I’m very impressed with the user manual. It is small enough to easily store in a bathroom drawer, but big enough to easily read. And unlike the typical, poorly translated manuals that seem to be the norm, this manual was very well written, covering all the topics in easy-to-read English. It covers safety, product use, features and how to enable/disable, cleaning, and care. Well done Philips! Quality. The quality of this toothbrush is noticeable the instant you go to use it. The power button, which also controls all the features, is very solid. There is no play or movement except for pressing down. It seems like it will last the entire life of the toothbrush. There is also a pressure sensor which works really well. If you apply too much pressure, the toothbrush starts vibrating in a way that lets you know it’s not operating correctly. As soon as you lighten the pressure, the toothbrush immediately returns to normal operation. Like the manual says, let the toothbrush do the work. Performance: The toothbrush does a great job cleaning my teeth. It also does a much better job of removing food from between teeth than using a manual brush. It claims that it removes plaque 5X better than a manual toothbrush. I have no idea if that is correct, I will have to have my dentist verify that. But I can say that the Philips Sonicare 4100 does a great job at cleaning and removing food. The 4100 has a feature called EasyStart. For the first 14 uses, it starts off easier and slowly increases pressure until it reaches the normal state. This helps those with sensitive gums, as changing brushing can cause problems. The 4100 battery is supposed to last 2 weeks, 28 uses at 2-times a day. I have no idea if this is true, but after 3days of using, I can say the battery indication shows it is still full. I have a feeling it is accurate. Conclusion: If you are using a manual toothbrush, you might want to investigate this toothbrush. It does a much better job of cleaning than using a manual brush and does a great job a dislodging food remaining between teeth and gaps. It is easy to use and feels great on the gums. I highly recommend the Philips Sonicare 4100 electric toothbrush.

This is a great power toothbrush and priced well. I've always liked to Sonic name and this is one is priced affordable enough to get one for children too. After brushing you definitely feel a huge difference. My teeth just feel and looks so much cleaner and fresher. It has 2 intensity levels and I use both at different times. I also like the timer, it holds us accountable to help brush long enough. This is definitely a high quality power tooth brush that looks good and doesn't take up much space. I haven't needed to charge it yet which says something about the battery life for using almost a week now. Set up was easy and straightforward. I was able to use pretty quickly.

The 4100 takes on USB charging

The Philips Sonicare 4100 is an excellent powered toothbrush without all the additional intensities(modes) and bells & whistles. The 4100 uses only two intensities which is high and low. I usually use high but if this is your first time using a Sonicare I recommend using it on low. The Sonicare is strong on high and perfectly clean your teeth but from my own use I know that I needed to start on low until my teeth/gums got used to it. This was also written in the instructions. The charger on this 4100 is different than other because it is USB A. Meaning you can plug this into any USB A charger. Or if your home outlets are equipped with USB A you can plug them right into that. Most hotels now are equipped with USB A ports, so this is great. However, this toothbrush does not come with the power adaptor. I find this as a flaw because while everyone pretty much has USB chargers lying around, I still find that it should come with one. At this point I rather just have the standard plug. I mean this could be useful if your always on the go, traveler, live in the back of a van. But for me come on and give me the charger. If you open this and don't know you need a charger and don't have an extra one available or have to use one from another device, I would be upset and feel like this was a waste of my time. I have a spare USB charger but if I didn't, I would have been upset. Put a charger in the packaging. This model is also not equipped with a travel case. SO, its USB A to charge to help with traveling etc. but does not include Sonicare's travel case? What I also like about the 4100 is that you still get reminder lights. One is to remind you when it's time to replace your brush. There is also a pressure sensor which also illuminates if you press too hard. This 4100 comes with the C2 plaque Control brush head but you can use any of the Sonicare brush heads. I have owned Sonicare toothbrushes for a while now and I like to change to different types of heads depending on my needs or just to change it up. This is equipped with two timers. A 2-minute overall timer which depowers your toothbrush letting you know your brushing is finished and 30 second vibration timers to help you focus on brushing the 4 quadrants in your mouth (top left and right, bottom left and right - can be any order) Overall, you are getting 4100 toothbrushes equipped with a USB-A charger rather than the regular charger. Reminder: THIS DOES NOT INCLUDE THE USB POWER ADAPTER AND NEEDS TO BE PURCHASED SEPERATLY OR SUPPLIED FROM HOME! I will only recommend to a friend if they need to charge using USB A or if their bathroom outlets are equipped with USB A on their outlets which would free up a regular outlet.

I bought two and both died within 6 months, but it’s really difficult to get replacement from manufacturer warranty and I still haven’t been able to get second replaced. I will likely buy another product to avoid this product defect where the battery stops charging.
