Customers are saying
Customers consistently note the 4100 Power Toothbrush's excellent cleaning ability and long battery life as significant advantages. Many appreciate its ease of use and the included timer, while some find the brush head size smaller than expected and express concerns about the charging method and cost of replacement heads. The positive feedback on cleaning performance and battery life outweighs the negative comments regarding size and charging. A travel case is also mentioned as a missing feature by some users.

Poor battery
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We’ve had it only a few months and it won’t even last for a single brushing on a full charge. It never seemed to last very long on a charge and almost doesn’t work now.

Excellent Toothbrush at the Right Price
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This electric toothbrush is basic but does a great job! The two minute timer lets you know that you’ve done what you need to do and vibrates for you so you’re not trying to time yourself. Also, it let’s you know when you are brushing too hard with a distinct change in vibration as it happens. One thing it has been difficult to get used to is not scrubbing your teeth which is what you’re more apt to do when using a regular manual one. It’s important to remember not to do that and to let the electric toothbrush do its job as you move it throughout your mouth hitting both your teeth and gums. Per the instructions, dividing the mouth into four sections does make it easier to hit all of the areas. Charging the brush was quick and so far after a few days of use, there has been no difference in strength. The lights on the brush handle will inform you of charging and brush head replacement needs. The instructions are very clear so spending just a couple minutes going through them is well worth it. Excellent investment.

An excellent lower-cost electric toothbrush
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've used many Sonicare toothbrushes over the last five years. One big problem is knowing the differences between the model lines since there's a lot of overlap. And often the "higher-end" brushes are overpriced due to features you probably don't want or care about. The 4100 series is less expensive, but still maintains all the features that matter most. It has two brushing intensity settings, a rechargeable battery that lasts weeks, a built-in two-minute timer, and is compatible with normal Sonicare brush heads. Some may complain about the lack of Bluetooth, but I really don't care if my toothbrush can talk to my phone. And I really don't need a mobile application that tracks my toothbrushing regimen. It doesn't have the newest fangled AI auto sense IQ thingy, but its basic brushing sequence is more than adequate for scrubbing and cleaning my teeth. The 4100 doesn't come with a travel case, but that may not matter to a lot of people. I would like second brush head in the box. Instead you get a flyer with a free brush head offer. If you've been considering an electric toothbrush, but were hesitant to drop $100 or more one one, the 4100 should definitely be high on your list. The 6100 series is still my go-to model. Those have a third intensity setting and can switch between tooth cleaning, whitening, and gum care brushing modes, which can be helpful for some people. But at $20-$30 less for the 4100, those are pretty nit-picky at this price point.

Great Upgrade from a Standard Toothbrush
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Philips Sonicare 4100 is a great entry level toothbrush for the Sonicare line. I have had several of these, I decided to get this one for my daughter that has lost most of her teeth and I want her to start developing good habits and I thought this would be a great tool for that. I will keep this simple, and go over this with a pros and cons overview: Pros: 1. Price: At under $50, this is a great deal and you are getting a great toothbrush that cleans extremely well for that price. 2. Smart timer: This like all the other Sonicare toothbrushes have a standard two minute timer. The toothbrush vibrates in 30 second intervals and makes it easier to complete a full two minute brushing (as recommended by the ADA). 3. Battery life: According to the box, it says It has a two week battery life? I think it last more than that, but that may be just me. 4. Cleaning: If you are going from a standard toothbrush to this, it is like brushing your teeth for the first time. You cannot get your teeth as clean with a manual brush. Your teeth feel polished and makes your time flossing even easier. Cons: 1. This is the first model I have ever received that did not have a power plug. It has a power cord the plugs into the back of the charging platform and the other end is a USB-A plug. No additional connector to plug into your outlet. Just kind of odd, but not a deal breaker. If you are looking to move on from a standard, manual toothbrush this is a great option. You can spend a lot for a brush or set of brushes in the Sonicare line, several hundred if you so please. As I mentioned at the beginning, this is the entry level brush my daughter is staring with and it is working out well for her. I recommend it anyone looking to upgrade to a great toothbrush for a very reasonable price.

Good and Handy
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This Philips Sonicare toothbrush has the features to maintain proper dental hygiene. It's gentle against my teeth, but powerful enough for brushing action. The USB cable design works given that it makes packing it for travel much easier. I did wish for it to come with a case. My favorite feature is the timer since it keeps me on schedule with my brushing. Overall, this is a good investment as a travel toothbrush or primary toothbrush.

Great Basic Electric Toothbrush
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This electric toothbrush has heads that the handle tracks the run time of, to remind you when to replace the heads with a light on the handle. The heads have a little wifi like symbol to tell them apart from other heads. My house has quite a few sonicare by Philips electric toothbrushes in all. This one is basic, but it also has a 30 second timer to help remind you to change quadrants of your mouth, and a 2 minute timer to remind you when you reached the recommended total brushing time goal. I let my 7 year old set it up and use it. I showed them the features and the indicator lights on the toothbrush. It brushes really well, helps to have more uniform brushing of the teeth and gums. One thing to note, it comes with a usb charge pad for the tooth brush, but not a charger i.e. the part you plug into the wall. You have to use an existing charger with a standard usb type A port to plug this charge pad into. This is a very affordable streamlined electric toothbrush, and it is actually smaller size, length and bulk, than the kid branded sonicare toothbrushes from a few years ago, so easy for kids to handle. I recommend this for adults and kids alike.

Awesome Slimmer Profile Electric Toothbrush
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Philips Sonicare 4100 is a great slim profile electric toothbrush that packs a lot of power to clean your teeth. The body is not overly bulky and fits in the hand nicely. The timer is a great feature that lets you know how long to spend on your teeth. Because dentists everywhere recommend you brushing your teeth for 2 minutes, there is a noticeable alert that prompts you every 30 seconds. The ultrasonic vibrations really do a good job knocking the junk off your teeth and your mouth just feels cleaner after the first use of this toothbrush. This Sonicare 4100 has been a great upgrade over older versions of the Sonicare toothbrushes and just takes up less space than older generations. If this is your first electronic toothbrush, you will love it. If it is an upgrade to an older bulkier Sonicare toothbrush, you will welcome the upgrades.

Good Product, Excellent Value
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have used several different electric toothbrushes in my life, including the very first Sonicare many, many years ago. This is not the best one I have ever used, but it certainly provides the best value for your money. If you have never used one of these types of toothbrushes before, it may take a little getting used to. I know the first couple times I used one I could feel a little funny vibration in my ear drums! But after a couple uses I got used to it and have used nothing but these sort of tooth brushes since. I can also say in the last 25 years or so I have not had a single cavity or dental issue at all. The features are basic. You get a beep every 30 seconds and then auto shuts off after two minutes. That gives you 30 seconds of cleaning for each quadrant of your mouth. You will hear a slight alarm beep if you start pushing too hard. The unit includes a nice little charging base and that’s pretty much it. But honestly, this all you need. I have a model with LED lights and an accompanying app that will give you a smile if you hit 2 minutes of brushing :) But that unit costs 4 times this one and they both clean about the same. I can’t recommend this style of toothbrush enough. I think most everyone should use one. That being said if you want the best bang for your buck, I’d strongly recommend this unit. This is a very solid basic model with a reasonable price tag. The replacement heads are fairly inexpensive as well. This product gets a strong 5 star rating from me and I would absolutely recommend it to a friend.

Circling back to Sonicare
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My first Sonicare product was a purchase recommended by a dentist decades ago. That initial one died because the battery would not keep a charge and simply stopped working. That took about a year and a half. The second and last one was one I bought. It had the bells and whistles that cleaned the heads when not in use with a UV light. It was cool but that eventually died out in a year as well. The light stopped working, the toothbrush base stopped working as well. With this second bout, I chose to use a yet cheaper competitor and really have not looked back. I am happy with the other brand, but was interested to see if they have improved over the years. I am ok with this lower cost offering. I mean there isn't a brick only a usb cord. I understand it saves a number of trees and frees up resources to make it greener, but what if we don't have any of the usb plug chargers? There is a site to request one and is included in the packaging. I am not sure I like this method. I am all for a greener environment and all, but it is extremely inconvenient. I don't know, maybe improve on the packaging a bit more? But onto the usage. The brush does come with the minimal stuff but with a huge paper instruction manual. In using the brush, it does have a pressure monitor and tones to let you know to move onto another area. The battery indicator is nice and discrete, but you will need the manual to tell you the different modes. It is not self explanatory. In uniform Sonicare fashion, the brush comes on a default setting for people who have not used electronic toothbrushes before. It is laid out in the manual, but for a consumer that has been using them for years, you have to switch that to the normal to me setting. If you leave it as is, the brush will gradually go to normal setting by 14 uses or one weeks time. All in all, this is a super simple budget brush which is decently built. I have yet to use it and will have to report back on long term usage. I tend to break them lol.

Takes Some Getting Used to!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my first electric toothbrush. Seems to have plenty of cleaning power. I will say, the ultrasonic oscillation did take some getting used to, but I'm glad I stuck with it! I love that it tells you when to change positions/when you've reached 2 mins. I feel like this with have a positive impact on my overall oral health.

Great product but issue with sensitivity
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. What I liked about this toothbrush right off the bat was how easy it was to put it together & how fast it charged. As soon as I opened it, all I had to do was attach the brush to the handle and charge it for about 20 minutes or less. It doesn’t have any weight to it which makes it as easy as holding a regular toothbrush compared to other electrical toothbrushes with a little weight on them. With that being said, what I didn’t like was how powerful the toothbrush was. It has two levels of power and the lowest one was still a little too strong for me. Not only was it an unpleasant cleaning experience because of how powerful it was but I actually had to switch to my regular toothbrush midway to finish brushing my teeth in peace because the strong vibration started hurting my teeth. I’ve used an electrical toothbrush before along with a water pick and it was a smooth experience. The vibration was just right and my teeth didn’t hurt during or after my cleaning which is what I expected with this one so this toothbrush was a tad intimidating for me. If you’ve been using electrical toothbrushes it shouldn’t be an issue for you but for someone who’s never owned one before it may be a little intimidating and getting used to. Especially if you have sensitive teeth and gums. If the power wouldn’t have been so strong, I would’ve loved to kept using this toothbrush but it isn’t for people with sensitivity.

Gets it right!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Let’s be honest toothbrush are pretty mundane. But the Phillips Sonicare really take you on a brushing journey! 2 min timer that lets you know when brushing time is done with switching sides as well! Because who really just stands there counting? Let the brush do it for you. How’s it perform? Really well surprisingly! It’s not abrasive or harsh on the gums- I have sensitive gums and this was very gentle. It left me feeling extra clean versus a regular brush. I felt it removed more plaque than a normal brush so that’s a big bonus! Highly recommend!

Excellent as always
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We have used these toothbrushes for many years. It’s essentially the same as before except for a couple things. This particular model has 2 speed settings which is helpful especially if you have sensitive teeth. It’s smaller which is a plus also in my option. The only negative is having a usb connection on the charger. It does make it easier to travel with but even in 2022 who doesn’t have an outlet near a sink in a bathroom. Basically nobody but few have a usb outlet so basically you need to have a charging plug anyway. I probably would have stuck with a plain old plug but otherwise it’s better in every other way.
