This is the third one that I bought in three years. I like the way it works at first but for some reason it always breaks. Pretty fragile. I looked online you can take it apart and somehow fix it but you have to be a rocket scientist to do it.

I have had this one for 6 months and after about 4 months I started having issues with it stopping and starting multiple times during use. I contacted Phillips and they provided a sequence of commands to reset the pressure sensor in the toothbrush. Apparently this is a new feature for the HX993 series. However, the sequence was only a temporary fix. I contacted them today and they want to replace the toothbrush handle. Here is the catch. You have to send yours in and wait 5-7 business to get a replacement one back. A refurbished replacement one. Meaning a used toothbrush. I will never buy another one these toothbrushes and I will stay away from a company like Phillips that doesn't stand behind their product or care about their customers.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. Our Philips Sonicare DiamondClean Smart comes with a two-year warranty, plus an additional six months if the product is registered. At Philips, we value our consumers and want to ensure your concern is addressed.
We can assure you that all of our warranty replacements are new and never used. As with many connected devices, be sure to download the Sonicare app to receive frequent firmware updates to your toothbrush for optimal performance. You may want to try this update before returning your handle back to Amazon.
To prevent this from happening in the future, you will need to update your toothbrush firmware by downloading or updating your Sonicare app to either an iPhone or Android cell phone.
Charge your Philips Sonicare DiamondClean Smart toothbrush for 24 hours using the charger it came with.
1) Open the Sonicare app
2) Select the menu on the top left corner
3) Tap "My products"
4) Select "Philips DiamondClean Smart Connected"
5) Tap "My handle"
6) Tap "Handle update"
7) Tap the red info icon next to "Handle update"
8) Finally, tap on the update button to update your handle
