One of the best I have ever used!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Over the years I have had many quality or more “high end” rechargeable toothbrushes. This list includes the original Sonicare many years ago as well as other brands. There are few things in life I have spent extra on to get top quality, but toothbrushes and water flossers definitely make that list. I like this toothbrush as much as anyone I have ever used, including much more expensive models. Is it my clear favorite or the one I would recommend in every instance? Probably not, but just for pure cleaning ability I really do love it quite a bit. First impressions out of the box are very good. It’s aesthetically lovely with its smooth finish and sleek overall design. I really like the clear plastic removable cover for the base that stays on when charging but can be easily removed for cleaning. First time I’ve had a base like this and it should become the standard for all makes and models in my opinion. The travel case is fine, very basic but functional design. The app is solid. I have used apps like this one before that have done a fine job of “training” me to using the proper pressure and attention to every area of my mouth. So though I won’t use this app again, it would be very effective to getting a new “smart” brush user to their most effective brushing routine. Apps like these can also be good for some and staying motivated by tracking your progress. If you are really looking for a toothbrush to help someone really stay motivated (as in that is your TOP priority) there probably are better, more expensive options out there. One of mine for example, will give you a smiley face when you do well or flash different colors to show if you are using the proper pressure. This would probably be more motivation to a child who doesn’t like to brush. With that being said, and you just want the best cleaning possible, I think this toothbrush is a real winner. If I solely judge it my its most important trait, how well does it clean my teeth, I give this device a solid 5 out of 5 stars. Afterwards my teeth felt so clean and fresh! The level of sound and vibration is pretty good as well. I have used some that can make my inner ear tickle! No issues at all with this one. There are 4 different cleaning settings each with 3 different intensity settings to dial in your preferences. At the end of the day this is an excellent choice for a high end rechargeable “smart” toothbrush. The price is very competitive considering its quality and other options available on the market. Other than perhaps if someone was specifically looking for something a bit more “fun” or motivating (and expensive!) , I would absolutely recommend this device to a friend. Well done Sonicare!

Still a great premium toothbrush
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I haven't been able to go back since the day I started using an electric toothbrush. It was a Sonicare way back in the day too. My toothbrush before this one is very similar to this and is going to move into the second bathroom because it's still going strong after more than 5 years now. These are premium toothbrushes that last. Setup is a breeze. The battery light was flashing when I first took it out of the box but it still got through a full brushing. Plug in the base and the glass holder just fits on top where you sit your toothbrush on top of to charge. The one thing I wish this toothbrush had that my older one does is the cup. The charger is still induction and I thought the cup was much more premium feeling than the small puck that you place your toothbrush in and stand it straight up. I decided to use my old cup to charge this toothbrush and use the new puck to charge my old toothbrush in the other bathroom. They both work the same so it's not a big deal but I did like the cup more than this new puck. Usage is pretty easy. Put the toothbrush on top and press the start button. The instructions has a lot of information on each of the modes and what they're for and how long they last. They tell you which section of teeth you should stick to for each section of the session too. Highly recommended you review that part of the instruction book. We usually stick to a single mode that my wife and I both like but you'll want to try them all and maybe switch it up if you're aiming to tackle a trouble area for yourself. Lots of options. If you're coming from a standard manual toothbrush, you'll probably be blown away by this toothbrush. I can't get my teeth to feel clean with a standard toothbrush anymore. I'll never go back. It's easy. The toothbrush guides you to keep things consistent and my teeth just feel so much more clean with these toothbrushes. Given that my old toothbrush is over 5 years old now, I wouldn't look at this as a high cost toothbrush. I'd look at it as a quality, premium toothbrush. You can get electric toothbrushes for a lot cheaper, sure, but I can't vouch for how long those last and how well they work. Bottom line, when the only bad thing I can say about this product is it doesn't contain the same cup for charging as my old toothbrush had, it's a pretty great toothbrush. If you're coming from a manual toothbrush, take the plunge and invest in the premium product if you're able. If not, just invest in another electric toothbrush. I don't advocate manual brushing for anyone but small children at this point. This is a premium product that will last you a long time so spend the money if you're able on an item that will get used 3-5 times per day and still feel like new 5+ years later.

Best Toothbrush I have EVER used!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Sonicare 9000 is, by far, the BEST toothbrush I have ever used. This is not my first Sonicare toothbrush. It is actually my 3rd! Take it from me, as I have a lot to compare it to, this one takes the cake. First of all, the color is really cool. I assume this is part of the "special edition" that is advertised on the box. The gradual fade from blue to black looks really cool. The blue lighting inside the toothbrush has a great look as well. I like that there are different settings on the toothbrush as well. Changing this will change the toothbrush's behavior during brushing. Different settings may adjust the length of time the toothbrush runs a cycle. This toothbrush also has smart features to help you stay dedicated to brushing and to direct you in the appropriate way to brush your teeth. Using the app that links to the toothbrush via bluetooth, you can visibly see a timer and diagram of which sections of your teeth you should be brushing. It also alerts you via "haptic feedback" on the toothbrush itself and on your smartphone screen if you are brushing with too much pressure. After each brushing, the app logs the session so you can see your brushing habits. It comes with a charger base that you sit the toothbrush in to charge the battery. It also comes with a travel case! It also keeps track of the life of the changeable bristle head. My teeth always feel completely clean after using this toothbrush. If you haven't made the swap to a Sonicare 9000 you should! Your teeth will thank you and you will NEVER go back to the standard toothbrush!

One smart toothbrush
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's just a toothbrush, right? Nope, it's a smart toothbrush! Do you *need* it? Probably not, but it does have some pretty nice and useful features (as well as some that might be a little much, but not complaining). The toothbrush has different heads you can use, such as a whitening specific one. It also has different modes, such as deep clean, whitening, and others. What's pretty cool and nice is that when you put a different head on it knows which one you're using and adjusts the settings accordingly. It also knows how long you've used a brush head, as well as how much pressure you brush with, so it kkows when you need to replace the brush head. Speaking of pressure, it senses how much pressure your brushing with and the brush speed changes to let you know you're brushing too hard. It also with alert you as you're brushing when to move on to another section to make sure you're not brushing one spot too long but also not long enough. I also like that the charging stand has a detachable "cup" I guess you would call it. Basically it sits on the charger and the toothbrush sits it it, so when it gets nasty (because if you've ever had a rechargeable toothbrush with a stand you know it will), you can easily clean it. In addition to these useful features it also can be synced with an accompanied app. Yes, "there's an app for that"... Maybe some take their teeth brushing more seriously than I do, but I'm not complaining. More features are nice to have even if I don't find them useful others might.

Awesome Toothbrush
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been using electric toothbrushes for over ten years now and this might be the best one I have used in a while. The first one I ever used was a high end philips sonicare that my dentist had given me for free, so I was looking forward to using this one. You also get a charging stand, travel case and a brush head in the package. The charging stand looks vey cool and it does not take up too much space. The modes were nice because you get to choose what you want to focus on at the time you are brushing your teeth. On top of that, then you get to choose the intensity. Pairing the toothbrush with the app was a breeze, you will walked through the whole process by the app. This toothbrush feels well constructed and made with quality material, but still feels relatively light in my hand while brushing. The battery life is very good, it hasn't died on me yet after brushing two times everyday, but with the cool looking charging base you will always keep this toothbrush charged, ha ha! I liked using this toothbrush and my mouth always feels super clean after using it. The only con for this toothbrush is the travel case. It felt like cheap plastic. When I travel I carry a smaller cheap electric toothbrush, so it does not take up too much space and I won't care if something happens to it. This philips toothbrush is waaay to nice to leave the house, I do not want it to be lost or damaged. Even though there is only one con, I'm still giving this toothbrush 5 stars.

Excellent Toothbrush. Love The Technology.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. How can you go wrong with this. Philips is probably the number one brand when it comes to power toothbrushes. If you have never used an electric toothbrush it will take some getting used to. I have been using mine for a couple of weeks and I’ve grown to love it. It takes away some of the back and forth we’ve had to do most of our lives and it may even be more efficient. If you have sensitive teeth you can adjust the intensity from low to high. There’s even an indicator to let you know if you’re pressing too hard. So you don’t have to press as hard as you think for this brush to work. There’s a indicator to let you know when to switch sections in your mouth. I believe it’s broken down into six sections: front and 2 sides on the bottom and top. There are different cleaning modes you can cycle through. Clean, white, gum health, and deep clean. The last two modes may be longer than the other two. I generally use the clean mode. One of the coolest things about this brush is the brush heads will tell you when it’s time to replace. After wear and tear there’s an indicator light on the brush head that lets you know if it is time to replace. How cool is that? I can’t remember the last time I charged my brush because the battery lasts forever. I wish it came with more brush heads but I’ve had mine a while and haven’t had to replace it yet.

Very good overall
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been using a Philips Sonicare 9700 for the past 4 years so I was excited to try this newer version. First off, the color is great! The design, feel, quality all feel very similar to what I've been used to with the 9700. The app is good for people just starting out with an electric smartbrush, and probably for younger kids who need the coaching for proper brushing habits. Having used electric brushes for 15+ years, it's relatively useless for someone like me. It's a "nice to have" but definitely not needed if you are already used to these brushes and have good habits. There were three things that were disappointing to me with this model vs the 9700. First, the 9700 came with 7 brush heads and a tounge brush (it also had a mode for cleaning your tongue to accompany the brush). Second, the travel case had a USB cord hidden inside so the case itself could charge the brush. I travel all the time for work and this feature has saved me a few times. Third, the 9700 has the pressure light on the base of the toothbrush so it's clearly visible in the mirror when you're pressing too hard. Considering the 9700 can be had for $60 more than this model, with all the extras you get, I think that one is more of a value. This model is very good, but as I said, it's disappointing to get a $200 toothbrush with 1 brush head and a flimsy travel case. Fortunately this fits in the 9700's travel case perfectly, so I can still use that case and have charging on the go. In terms of cleaning power, I have zero complaints and this is just as good as the higher end models from Philips. It is powerful and has different modes and adjustable strength levels for different mouths and gums. It also gives you the ability to work into using an electric brush if this is your first time. You'll get some extras and maybe an extra setting or 2 with the higher end brushes but this is a nice compromise of power without the fluff. Keep an eye on Black Friday and Cyber Monday each year for deals on brush heads as they're usually almost half price, so $7-8 each vs $15-16. At 3 months use per head you can get a year's worth for around $30. Overall, it's a great toothbrush, I just wish it came with at least 2 brush heads and the charging travel case. If you've had Philips Sonicare's before and this is an upgrade, it's definitely worth it.

Outstanding Toothbrush
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This toothbrush was an upgrade from an oralB. This is a far superior product. It comes with a charging base but dont think the overlay is glass like you may hear, but it is stable hard plastic. It takes up virtually no room and is very streamlined. There are multiple cleaning cycles you can select from and you can also use the app to track your cleanings. In being transparent, the app isnt something I personally would use. It seems like a time waster. You can get by fine on your own without it. It only came with one brushhead. For this pricepoint, you would think two would be appropriate. The brushead it comes with can be monitored by the brush and will let you know when its time to change it out. It is very powerful and does a great job of breaking up small deposits of plaque. It also comes with a portable carrying case. It's nothing special, but does get the job done for any trips one may take. It does well holding a charge and this of course is dependent on use, or just leave it in the charging dock. This is a solid toothbrush and I would recommend it, but the small things I mentioned takes it to 4 out 5 stars.

Great toothbrush, probably no need to upgrade
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall, this is a great toothbrush from Sonicare, but then I'd say that basically any Sonicare toothbrush is going to be great. I got this as an upgrade from my original Sonicare that I've had for almost 20 years. The old one still works, but became very difficult to travel with because it always needed to be plugged in or the battery would hardly last through a single brushing any more. This is a great, sleek, modern brush, and the four different brushing modes are nice, though I feel like I'm just going to leave it on the "deep clean" setting. Each setting uses one of two different vibration intensities, or may fluctuate between the two, and have different amounts of time for brushing. The "deep clean" does the higher power for a longer time. While this can pair with your phone and has an app for tracking your brushing and pressure you're using, I'd say the app is worthless. Hopefully you can remember (or feel) when you've brushed your teeth, and the visual for whether you're pressing too hard is absolutely not needed because this brush will actually dull down the vibration if you push too hard. So, you can actually feel it and react when you need to lighten up. I'd say that this is a great brush, but if you have any other Sonicare toothbrush, it's probably not worth upgrading unless the old one is dying.

Sonic action beats spinners and other versions
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This Sonicare toothbrush is a great improvement over the older models I've had in the past. The lighted indicators are more clear for displaying the different modes and countdown timer, as well as a very clear indicator of the battery level. Regarding the battery, the charger is nicely designed. The clear part goes on top of the actual charger so that any moisture or anything else stays on the clear, removable part. It's easily cleaned and the charger itself stays clean. This particular model comes with one brush. The head is rubberized and has a thick rim that doesn't chatter on my teeth like the old plastic ones did. I didn't look to see if they sell larger heads, but a slightly larger one would be great for me. After charging the first time, it was very easy to use. The timer to let you know when to switch sections is clear too. It is a lot nicer than the old versions, and totally beats the spinning and other battery operated mechanical brushes by far. My mouth felt much cleaner when I was done brushing than it had since I had a cleaning at the dentist. I forgot how well they work. If I had one complaint, I would have to say that I would like to have a second head included, but it's certainly not a deal breaker.
