I will start this review by saying that I have very sensitive gums as well as cold and hot sensitivity on my teeth. So, this review is mainly for people who may be suffering from these same symptoms and what they can expect from this device. Out of the box you can tell it is a very quality product, I would expect nothing less from Sonicare. The build quality is great, using very thick plastics to give it a solid feel in your hand. The controls are also very easy to operate, and as always, Sonicare uses very minimal controls to make it easy for everyone to use. Its very easy to pop on the desired tip (it comes with 2 different ones included) and its also very easy to refill the bottle. You can either unscrew the top or there is also a little latch on the bottle that you can open and refill it without taking the top off. Here comes the first problems I had with the device. I wish there was some kind of lock feature so that even if you press the power button the unit won’t turn on. Often times when I was filling it, I would accidentally hit the power on button and it would start spraying water all over the place. You have to be very careful when handling or unscrewing the top or this will happen. Once I got that figured out there really is only one other control and that’s to set the pressure, I guess you’d call it. There are 3 different levels that you push one button for and it cycles through them. The level is indicated by 1, 2, or 3 lights. As stated, before I have sensitive teeth with cold/hot sensitivity. I also have a hard time flossing the regular way because my gums bleed very easily. That’s why I thought this would be a great alternative to traditional flossing. I found it very hard to get a water temperature that didn’t bother my teeth. Either too cold, or too hot and it was very hard to get it just right. Once I was able to get the right temperature, I found that the device worked well at getting things out from around my gums and in between my teeth. If you have sensitive spots on your teeth, be prepared to experience a little pain though when you spray them. I had to use the lowest setting, because at the higher ones it was a little painful to use. One other thing to be aware of is that this thing is continually spraying water in your mouth for a minute so you have to simultaneously spit out the water while using the device. It does pulse every 15 seconds to let you know to switch to a different quadrant of your mouth. I think it would have been better to have it go for 15 seconds then stop to allow you to spit out the water, then push the start button again to continue to the next quadrant. That way all that water wouldn’t be building up in your mouth. So, just be prepared that its going to make a mess when you are using it and you’ll have to be bent over the sink to avoid getting water everywhere. You pretty much get 1 use out of 1 tank full of water so you’ll have to fill it each time you want to use it. The device itself is also pretty large and won’t fit in most cabinets or drawers easily. So be prepared to have it sitting out on your countertop. With the spray head on, it is 12 inches tall. Overall, it’s a great concept and is very effective at spraying things out from in between your teeth and around your gums. I wouldn’t recommend it if you have a lot of sensitivity though. If you can deal with a little water splashing around it would be a great option for you.

Philips Sonicare Power Flosser 3000 is a cordless flosser that’s powerful and effective. The tank holds just enough for a 1 minute flossing session that is guided by the device’s pacer to hit all 4 quadrants of your mouth (front and back of the top and bottom). Its rechargeable nature means you can use it without much drama, although I would be hesitant to call it portable. Philips Sonicare brand has been one of my favorite lines of hygiene products. The toothbrush has been pretty amazing for my oral health. However one problem for me remains: my crowded teeth mean I struggle with regular flossing. In fact I have one tooth that is crowded enough that I cannot get the floss back out without putting a lot of uncomfortable pressure on a filing. While I’ve tried water flossing before, I found corded units cumbersome and loud. The Power Flosser 3000 fixes both of those issues while still providing a strong flossing experience without the anxiety of getting floss stuck. In the box you’ll find a charger, USB-C cable, the power flosser unit, the water tank, and a pair of nozzles. Charging the device for a couple hours will fully charge it and Philips claims you’ll get 25 flossing sessions from a single charge. While I haven’t verified that claim yet, it has been powering away for the flosses I’ve completed without issue. I appreciate the USB-C charging, as that means it’s pretty universal. However, as previously mentioned, its size makes it hard to imagine taking this on the road (not impossible, but not something you’d fit in a small toiletry bag. Usage is pretty simple. Simply click in the nozzle of your choice. Fill up the tank, put it in your mouth, and push the power button. The device will spray for 15 seconds, then give a pulse and pause for you to reposition. The intent is to spend 15 seconds on the front of your upper teeth, then back of your upper teeth, then front of the bottom, and back of the bottom. 60 seconds lined up pretty well to the tank size, as I found each run required a refill. This isn't so bad due to its portable nature, and the easy fill tank that makes it quick and easy to fill up. Using it took a bit of practice to be fully comfortable. You need to stay on target the entire time and get the teeth right around the gums. I definitely turned the intensity down the first couple times. I did use the quad stream, and liked that nozzle a lot. The first time I used it my gums bled pretty well. They were inflamed, and not in great shape due to my lack of flossing. After just a couple days, my gums felt firmer, not inflamed, and healthy. I was surprised at the results. I wasn’t expecting a battery powered device to be as effective as it was. Philps really delivered here. The device has 3 intensity settings, and a deep clean pulse setting. The intensity setting of medium was where I started and it was still a lot. By day 3 I was using it at full intensity without too much issue. You can hold the intensity button to turn off the 15 second pacer, although I found that setting essential. The device has a 2 year warranty and seems to be built quite well. There is no user replaceable battery, but I’m still rolling on a 4 year old toothbrush with amazing battery life, so I’m not too concerned. Nozzles are designed to last 6 months. Overall the Power Flosser 3000 is a solid product. I love the benefits that Philips has brought to my life with their products, especially the battery powered ones. I highly recommend this flosser!

    A great portable/cordless water flosser

Up until I received this Philips Sonicare Power Flosser 3000 Cordless, my experience with water flossers (or oral irrigators, whatever name you ascribe to them) has been the type which sit on your bathroom counter taking up a lot of space and making a lot of noise while keeping your teeth and gums healthy. This is my first portable/cordless flosser and I am pretty happy with the experience so far. The water tank is fairly small, and I found that when using either the single tip or the quad/cross tip I am able to get all of my teeth clean if I use the middle setting for the water pressure at a comfortable pace. With the highest strength, I either have to stop and top the tank up, or move faster from tooth to tooth than I am comfortable with. Relative to a big, traditional flosser, this is a bit of a change but a necessary one to keep the Sonicare 3000 Flosser from being ungainly to use (or bring along for travel). The flossing experience is really neat with the Sonicare 3000 and I am pretty happy with the options available vs my other water flossers. First, there is the "deep clean" option for flossing. This pulses the water at different strengths and does provide a noticeably clean feeling when you're done. Second, the 3000 cordless includes a traditional single point spray tip as well as a cross shaped Quad Stream tip which is very different from any other unit that I've used. The Quad Stream is recommended for people with braces or dental work, and I have been using it more due to the fact that I have a crown and it seems to be more gentle around the gum pocket of that tooth. For travel, the 3000 is pretty compact considering what it is - you can put the tip inside the water tank to make it fit a little easier in your bag. Philips advertises 14 days of use per charge, and I really, really, really like that this thing has USB-C charging. Philips deserves praise for understanding how travel works - I only carry one charger on the road and it's great to be able to charge my phone, laptop, and even potentially this device without having to stuff yet another thing in my bag. Definitely consider the Sonicare 3000 Cordless water flosser if you are looking for something a little more compact and portable than the counter-top variety.

This product may work well for some people but i perosnally did not like it. I dont recommend this as the water empties too quickly and may require frequent refills and only includes two nozzle heads. There are similar products that have a larger reservoir and the ability to temporarily turn off the head.

    A power-washer for your mouth

I wasn't too crazy about a device that squirts jets of water in your mouth; there's so many ways that could be messy. My wife had a corded water flosser that she used maybe a handful of times since she bought it over a year ago. It didn't get much use because of how limited its range was before you tugged on the entire unit causing water to spill onto the counter. So, when she recently bought a cordless unit, I was surprised to see how long the water lasted and how well she said it worked. I decided to try out the Philips model 3000 cordless because I knew the brand. I like the extra options it had over my wife's unit and its great to have options with anything. The 3 different settings were each more intense than the other and worked well at getting teeth clean between brushings. The quad stream tip didn't really have the effect I thought it would have. Cutting the stream into 4 different directions made it softer to use, but also increased the chance of water unintentionally leaving the confines of my mouth. Switching between nozzles was easy and secure due to the clicklock button on the front. Filling the water reservoir could be done by the little door on the side or by unscrewing the base with a quarter turn. I found the unit to be lightweight in hand and easy to maneuver around my teeth. The reservoir holds enough water for one complete cleaning lasting 1 minute timed, separated in 15 second interval pauses, letting you know how much time to spend on each area. Instead of letting the water dribble out of your mouth like Philips suggests, I hold for the full 15 seconds then spit; cleaner with less splatter. It works better than a toothpick and just as good as floss, but nicer to your gums.

Sonicare vs. Waterpik - lower power, just as clean

I've used a Sonicare toothbrush for about 20 years now. I've had the same 1st generation brush, so I know they can reach a high standard. I've also been using a Waterpik flosser (a counter-top model, not a travel model) for about a year and a half, so I have experience with flossers. The Sonicare flosser does have some variability in the power of the spray, but it tops out at about what would be a 5 out of 10 on the Waterpik. I've been accustomed to using the Waterpik on about a 9. Despite this difference in pressure, my teeth feel just as clean with the Sonicare as they do with the Waterpik. You get the same kind of "dentist clean" feeling with both. I also like that the Sonicare is easier to travel with than the counter-top Waterpik. I did have a smaller Waterpik before, and liked it, but the power of the spray was highly dependent on how much of a charge you had, and it required a special charger. With the Sonicare, I've been using it for about 8 or 9 days and haven't had to recharge it yet. Even if I were traveling and ran out of charge, it will charge with the same plug as my cell-phone, so there's nothing extra to bring or keep track of. If you've used a Sonicare toothbrush before, you know it pauses briefly after a certain amount of time to let you know to move to a different part of the mouth. This does that every 15 seconds. The only way that the Sonicare falls behind the more powerful Waterpik is if you have a gap in your teeth which tends to capture larger pieces of food, or get stuck more strongly, you may need the higher power to get the food unstuck.

    Great Portable Water Flosser

The size of this portable flosser is great. Its not too small but it’s not large and isn’t overly complicated to use. It charges relatively fast, but may have also be due to it already having some juice upon opening the box. It’s super easy to use, and even easier to clean. I like that I’m able to use it with diluted mouthwash, as long as I flush it with water after use so it doesn’t clog. Since the size is much smaller than a table top flosser, it does go through the water quite fast and you’ll need to refill to finish unless you’re great at getting it all done on one fill. There’s three buttons. One power, and two setting buttons. It also comes with two flossers, so if you want the comfort flosser, that’s a separate purchase. You can store one flosser at a time inside of the unit. There’s a place you can snap it in to dry. This was my first time using a water flosser and there is definitely a learning curve. I did as instructed but didn’t close my mouth all the way and boy, oh boy, lesson learned. The water went everywhere and splashed me in the face so hard. It was a huge laughable moment. But you get the hang of it soon thereafter. This handy flosser has some powerful water pressure. It’s not uncomfortable, but may tickle until you’re use to it. It does leave a much cleaner feeling in your mouth. I prefer this over traditional methods.

I love that this thing is battery operated and portable. Also, it charges with a USB C cable so I don’t need to remember a charger since my phone also USB C. I wouldn’t say this has the highest pressure, but it gets the job done and at least for me is the only way I can consistently floss. There are three different pressure settings and I’ve left it on the highest since I got it. It comes with two picks one that is traditional and has a higher-pressure output but the other one seems to do a better job, so I’ve stuck with the purple one. I would say the one drawback is that there isn’t an auto off, or at least one fast enough for me. The water tank holds almost exactly four 15second times worth of water, so I figured it would shut off after the last one. That is where the almost comes into play, it splashed water on me and the mirror, annoying and made me realize that I need to turn it off after I’m done. Other than that, I love that this thing is easy to pack and easy to use. Pros: - USB C charging - Battery operated - Multiple water pressure settings - Easy to use - 2 different heads - Battery seems to last for some time Cons: - Doesn’t automatically shut off after four 15second rounds when container is basically empty

What is in the box Cordless Power Flosser Standard Nozzle Quad Stream Nozzle USB Adapter Type C USB cable Manual This unit comes with a 2-year warranty. The manual goes into depth on the proper use of the device. There are 3 power settings, and you can switch between clean and deep clean. The clean mode provides a constant stream of water. With the Pacer function on the pressure will pause every 15 seconds telling you its tine to move to the next section. The deep clean mode provides strong and gentle pulses for a thorough clean. A brief pause every 15 seconds tells you it's time to move to the next space. There are two methods of filling the reservoir. Twist and detach the reservoir and use the big opening or lift the flip top on the side of the reservoir and fill the small opening. The battery should last about 25 minutes. The use of this device is easier than the sink top models. With the three power levels you can pick the one that’s just right for you. The nozzle can be adjusted for ease of aim. I like the brief pause with the pacer function. The Pacer can be turned off by following the instructions in the manual. I would recommend the Philips Sonicare 3000 to family and friends.

The Phillips Sonicare Power Flosser 3000 Cordless is a very effective easy to use flosser. It is small enough to fit in your hand comfortably, yet it holds an adequate amount of water once you become proficient using it. It comes with 2 flossing heads. One has a single flow of water and one is a quad head which has 4 jets of water covering a wider area of your teeth. I prefer the single flow head which was easier for me to direct to a specific area. Also included is a wall adapter and a USB A to USB C cable. It is easy to use and holds a charge for 2 weeks. Filling the tank with water is easy and can be accomplished by either opening a valve or by removing the tank. The overall design is very good, however I have had one issue. The power button is way too sensitive and it's located where your fingers grip the device. I have accidentally turned it on and off numerous times. Sometimes hitting myself in the face or spraying around the bathroom. I also wish that a travel case was included.

The Philips Sonicare Power Flosser 3000 Cordless uses water and a bit of pressure to clean the spaces between your teeth and gums. It is very similar to anther well know product which had the majority of market share with this type of dental hygiene appliance. Being cordless provides an additional level of flexibility as you use It without a power connection. In a general sense this unit does an excellent job of cleaning your teeth without the hassle of floss and the irritation it can cause (and sometimes get stuck in the gaps). Using water makes this process much easier. This unit has three power or pressure modes, gentle, medium and full. A few observations, the unit cleans your teeth well, however I found myself needing to till the reservoir twice, once for the top and bottom teeth. Using this is pretty easy but caution it can get very messy trying complete a full cleaning session over the sink. Others have suggested that since this is wireless it may make sense to try to use it in the shower. I usually don’t practice dental hygiene in the shower, but perhaps it is the key to avoiding making a mess. In any case I found this device useful and a good tool to have in your dental care toolbox. Pros: - Like the three power modes - Cleans in between teeth very well - Better than traditional floss that can shred and become stuck in between teeth - Quick cleaning cycle does a good job in a minimal amount of time. Cons: - Messy, gets water everywhere - I found you need to fill water tank twice during a cleaning session: bottom and top teeth - Clothing gets soaked
