Badly Irritates Gums!! Beware

Even at low settings, the rapid brushing movement will badly irritate gums. I used it three times and now, five days later, my upper gums are irritated and possibly eroded above the incisors. I followed the manual and the on-line videos (which differ on whether to move side to side or in circular motion). I also read a separate entry about how to hold handle gently to avoid too much pressure on the gums. The produce has a "warning light" at the base of the handle to alert user when too much pressure is being applied. At no time when I used it did the warning light go off....the toothbrush obviously cleans well, and it is beautifully designed. The brushes are too big, though, and there is no instruction about how to use it inside the front and bottom center teeth. I cannot be the only person who has had a bad experience with irritated gums.

This model, however, has an Easy-Start program, and will maintain in that mode for about 12 uses. This will therefore, make you adapt to the Sonicare feeling smoothly. For further instructions on how to operate the Easy-Start feature, please refer to your user manual.
