    Perfect tooth brush

I have used a $40 Sonicare electric toothbrush for the past two years. One of the things I have never been good at is replacing the brush heads. The Diamond Clean brush head flashes when it is time to change brush heads. The companion app also informs you of how many uses the brush head has. One of the most annoying things from my old electric toothbrush was the fact that the charge would stick to the bottom of the tooth brush, making it a pain to remove from the charger at times. This tooth brush uses a glass charger which is a wireless charging system. There is a little metallic puck that stacks underneath a water glass that is provided with the tooth brush. When you place the tooth brush inside the glass, it will start charging. No more stick to the charger and causing problems. The companion app forces me to brush my teeth actively. Both the app and the tooth brush tell me when I am applying too much pressure. The app let’s you know where you are not properly brushing your teeth and provides a timer. This will help me since I often cut my brush time short. The Diamond Clean is a premium tooth brush with advanced features I didn’t know existed. All of the data and features provided by the Diamond Clean will help me take care of my teeth. The methodic approach when designing this product shows, and the materials are premium. I will be buying one for my significant other.

I was interested in picking one of these up and by chance, it came across my screen. I never felt that I needed an app to show me how to brush my teeth, but I'm glad it's here. The App is very quirky; it doesn't stay centered and doesn't necessarily register the turns for inside / outside teeth. It did, however, remind me to be more diligent with flossing and 'scraping' -- something that I did with a toothbrush, but found that they sell 'scrapers' and boy are they great. Different goals allow you to take a few weeks & focus on different things like: plaque removal and teeth whitening. It's also very quiet - nobody knew I had an electric toothbrush before I mentioned it, as week after using it 2x a day. If you take the app with a grain of salt, you'll be fine; if you base your success on it, you're not really focusing on the right thing.

Simple Review: Higher than your use to paying for a tooth brush but like most things that are outdated this is worth it's cost. Long Review: Starting off with the unbox experience Phillips definitely went out of there way to make you feel special. Beautiful carrying case when your traveling and a wireless charger for a tooth brush which some phones don't even have that. Once you get past that come to performance. There is a lot of power under the hood which is good and bad. Good is you should see a noticeable difference within a small amount off time. The bad is you have to relearn how you brush your teeth. I do not think it's a big enough reason to not purchase this unit but I feel like you should be aware. Last thing is a small thing but I just wish they added something simple for cleaning to make it automated. Premium feel all around and it's a unit I'd recommend especially to someone who hates brushing.

At first I figured a wifi toothbrush was probably a little over the top, but this has totally changed the way I brush. For years dentists have told me I move the brush (regular electric brush) too much and apply to much pressure. Since this brush tells you both in real time, it took less than a week to learn to brush differently. The brush is very sleek looking and can be used without the app as the different programs and indicators are built into the handle, but the app takes everything a step further and is surprisingly very helpful. The brush charges simply by putting it in the glass/charger included, which is very cool. In addition to the programs (whitening, plaque removal, etc.), it also has corresponding different heads for each program. Overall a very well designed and thought out product, that is surprisingly effective and useful, even with the steep price tag.

This is my first electronic toothbrush and all I have to say is the cleaning process is intense. This Sonicare toothbrush had multiple setting that allow for many different cleaning settings with 3 intensity levels for each. My first use was to say the least was overly stimulating for my mouth. It took a few brushing for me to get used to it, but from the first brushing my teeth felt incredible. I have never had a toothbrush that made my teeth feel as good as when I visit the dentist for a cleaning and this one has more than met my expectations. It came with different toothbrush heads that are meant to perform different task. It's packaged well, has tons of power and has plenty of addons including a travel case to take care of all your dental needs. I would definitely recommend this Phillips Sonicare.

I have an actual mixed review to give on this. I personally love it. We have been using a different brand of electric toothbrush in our house for a long time. As this came with extra heads, the wife and I both used it. I like how quiet it is and the different settings it has for deep cleaning, whitening etc. The charging system is aesthetically pleasing too, being that it wirelessly charges in a glass. Neat feature. Overall, the wife decided she does not like it. She does not get the same clean mouth/teeth feeling she got from our old one. I am opposite and feel like it does a better job with more setting choices and a better cleaner feel when done. I recommend this product.

Toothbrush is similar in functionality but nicer than the other higher-end Sonic care products. Utilizes wireless charging through a washable nice looking glass receptacle which sits over the charging unit. Also utilizes a app which attempts to track and time coverage of the different surfaces of your teeth. This is designed to encourage more complete and thorough brushing which most people (I previously worked in dental office) do not preform consistently. This information may be a useful even if not used each time.

    "Smart" toothbrush

I was excited to receive the Philips Sonic care 9300 DiamondClean smarttoothbrush as this was my first experience using a “smart” toothbrush. The instructions could have been better and more helpful for the initial setup. I could have used a quick start pamphlet. The instructions that the 14-day Li-ion battery had to initially be charged 24 hours was not easily found. . The glass-charging cup is very classy looking. However there are no instructions to store the toothbrush in it and keep it plugged in. The different brushes were hard to identify, then I found another piece of paper with pictures of the brushes. I finally realized the numbers on the brushes corresponded to the 4 modes. Philips provides a storage case, which holds the handle and two brush heads. The Smart brush has a microchip, which communicates with the handle so when you snap on a brush the handle automatically selects the recommended mode and intensity level. This also tells when to replace the brush. Very nice feature. This toothbrush has Bluetooth and it was easy to download and connect the Sonic app to my LG Rebel phone. I found it awkward to hold the phone, watch the screen and simultaneously brush my teeth. I download the Sonic app to my Samsung tablet and found it easier to view and follow on the bigger screen and no holding required. The app itself shows you which part of your mouth to clean as it guides you through the selected cleaning cycle. It will also alert when you need to slow down or use less pressure. The app keeps track of problem areas that you need to pay extra attention to, which parts of your mouth you tend to brush less thoroughly, and how consistent you have been about cleaning for the recommended time. Guided Brushing feature requires you to start your brushing routine in your top right segment of your mouth. This is a big drawback for me as I am accustomed to starting in the top left segment. According to the Philips website, they are looking to create custom brushing routines for increased convenience. Check for updates to get the latest and greatest improvements! I hope they will notify us. There are 4 modes and three brushes. Clean mode has a 2-minute, intensity level 3 regimen and I found I used this in the AM. I noticed the toothpaste tended to fly off so I had to lower the intensity level. The Gum health mode takes 3-minutes, 20 seconds, so I used this mode at night. Not sure if I will continue to use this mode every night or just periodically. White mode adds extra time but not sure if you should use special toothpaste with it for better effectiveness. Deep clean mode adds extra time. I found the pressure sensor to be helpful as it alerts you if you are brushing too hard. I am 78 and do not want to brush away all the enamel. I did not use the easy start function as I wanted to experience the full effect of the modes and brushes. The Sonicare is easy to clean after use. Just remove the brush head and rinse everything under hot water. The charging glass is dishwasher safe but very easy to hand wash and dry. In summary, the Sonic smart toothbrush works very well and makes my teeth feel cleaner. Getting it all set up took a little time but after 2 or 3 usages it became much easier to use. I have a lot of bridgework in my mouth and the app seemed to lag around the bridgework, then as I used it more I was able to adapt the settings for my mouth. If you watch the app you do become more aware of areas you need to concentrate on. I think this appliance will make my dental hygienist happy at my next visit.

    Great first electric toothbrush

This being my first electric toothbrush, I can't really compare it to much. The sonicare variety uses vibration (a lot of it, with 3 levels of intensity) to clean your teeth. There are other units on the market that also spin, much like what is used in a dentist's office. I would have preferred this option, but it might not make a difference in the end. Either way, this toothbrush does seem to clean better than regular brushing alone. Using this with an app does seem a bit odd, but I'm a nerd when it comes to technology, so it doesn't bother me too much. Overall, I'm quite happy with this toothbrush. The travel case and glass charging stand are both nice included extras.

    Not so "smart" toothbrush

We have smartphones, smart TVs, even smart cars. Why not a smart electric toothbrush? That must have been the thinking at Philips when they created this pricey little gadget. Hey, it can monitor how long you brush, which teeth, how hard and coach you to do better in whatever area interests you most! Whiter teeth? Check! Less plaque? Check. Healthier gums! Check. Well it must have sounded like a good idea. Sadly, the Philips Sonicare Diamondclean 9300 flunks the "smart" test since it cannot connect to Phillips own app. Which you must do to get all that "smart" advice. It's bad enough that it requires yet another app on your smartphone, which requires that you register with yet another company, create yet another account with yet another password. But the real problem is once you complete that drill, the app simply doesn't work -- at least not for me in its current incarnation. I found it flatly rejects all attempts to pair via bluetooth with smartphone (my phone repeatedly reported that the toothbrush rejected the pairing). I know what you are thinking. This guy is just a dope and doesn't know what he's doing. Nope. I used to test these kind of products for a living. I know what I am doing. I have a relatively new Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge smartphone and tried all the usual tricks. Uninstalling and reinstalling the app. Restarting the smartphone. ( Just for grins, I tried installing the app on a different Moto G phone. Same result, except it reported "incorrect PIN or passkey" from the toothbrush.) I called customer support but got no solution. We tried a bunch of things, confirmed that it SHOULD work with my phone. In the end, the rep told me, "Well our engineers are making some changes to the app and it may not be working right at the moment. Try again in a few days." No thanks. If you are charging this much for a high-end gadget, I don't want to be a beta tester or spend hours trying to get it to do what it promises. It should work -- as advertised -- right out of the box. It doesn't. Check out the comments associated with the app at the Google Play store. This is clearly a common problem and has been for some time. Not yet fixed. Some phones apparently work. Some don't. No explanation why. For what it's worth, the toothbrush itself -- sans app -- DOES work, if you can handle the hyperfast supersonic vibration it produces. The sound is akin to a dentist's drill at the highest speed, which is the default in max plaque removal mode, and almost as uncomfortable. The lower speeds (there are 3) are more tolerable, however and the thing actually does a decent job of cleaning teeth. Well, one would hope so. Philips provides three different brush heads, supposedly to address different issues. One for max plaque removal. Another for bad gums. A third for whiter teeth. They all looked about the same to me but there may be subtle differences. One oddity is the "charger," which turns out to be what looks like a small cocktail glass (yes, real glass, not the best idea in a bathroom, with all those hard floors and bare feet). The glass sits on a silver disc that plugs in. Place the base of the toothbrush in the glass and it charges via induction, after a little light show that sequentially illuminates all the settings on the handle. The glass is sort of like a wireless charging stand you can get with some new smartphones. If clean teeth are all you care about, the Diamondclean 9300 will get the job done. You might even get lucky and have a smartphone that is compatible with this thing. But you should not have to hope that a product will do what it promises.

This is the next generation of mouth care. A great deal of care appears to have been put into this design, not just from it's desired function, but beyond. As a mouth care tool, this is powerful. 4 different power levels, will take time to find the right one to use... the highest level is intense, I had to lower it down for my first usages. You can feel a difference in the impact to your teeth and gums, as compared to a manual (or drug-store grade battery powered unit). On the counter, this is sleek. Sits in a "glass" to charge, not overly bulky and looks like a traditional tooth brush in a cup. Downsides, will take some time to adjust too. It is a little bigger then most tooth brushes (handle), and getting your hand placement so you are not hitting the buttons will take some time. Also, need to learn NOT to have this running while outside of your mouth. Now, the modern piece... linking up to your phone sounds odd. But after using it, and seeing the intent... we will see where this goes. Over time, I will have to see what areas of my mouth I am not reaching as often. And adjust. So it is tool and health monitor at the same time.

I am coming from a Sonicare Essence electric toothbrush. Must admit I had some apprehension about using an app with the new Sonicare Diamond Clean Smart Rechargeable toothbrush. Have installed app on a Nexus 6 so no issues seeing what I’m doing. Also using the app on a 10.1” Acer Iconia One Android tablet, with stand case. Takes some time to get used to relying on the app, instead of guessing whether or not I’m doing a good job. Toothbrush does give me a tickling sensation too. Visual feedback is preferred tho. Think of it as a diagnostic tool. Nice they it can be used worldwide and comes with it’s own carrying case. So if U can get used to brushing UR teeth this way, U will feel U are doing a better job.

First off, this product looks and feels awesome. The clean is great, and the multiple heads for different types of cleaning is sweet. I followed the instructions to a T and after 3 days I did have a noticeably whiter smile. The wireless glass charger is a nice and classy touch. What a win for Phillips.
