I have owned many different styles of electric toothbrushes over the years and this toothbrush is easily the best there is. My older sonicare was a great brush but I quickly realized what I was missing out on when this new sonicare was released. Features I love over the older sonicare: *Easier to clean brush head attachment. You simply pull off instead of the old way of unscrewing the brush head off. This lead to more frequent brush head cleanings and less chance of stinky mold stuck in crevices. *Pressure sensitivity. The brush itself gives you a haptic feedback that you are pressing too hard on your gums and teeth. That’s amazing to know because I was apparently brushing too hard! *Blutooth connected. This is great to use the app while brushing for the first week as it helps guide you to a better brushing regimen. The app visually shows you where to brush and if you missed any portions. The app also allows you to understand the 3 different cleaning modes. *The 2 min timer. This is great as I never knew how much time I had with my older sonicare till it just turned off on its own. Now, the brush will give me a haptic feedback when I need to change “zones” so I know exactly how much time I have left brushing. Summary: The toothbrush does cost a bit more than others but the coaching the app was able to provide helped my brushing and worth every penny. I never knew I wasn’t hitting all the spots and that I was pressing too hard. I feel like I get a much better clean and I couldn’t be happier. A bonus is that it includes a travel case. A single charge is good for a few weeks! I would recommend this brush to all of my friends. I hope this review has helped!

This was the first non-manual toothbrush I've ever used. The device itself is very streamlined, and easy to use, with each function being self explanatory. The toothbrush links with a phone app, that lets you set brushing goals and guides you through your 2.5 minute brushing routine - showing each area to brush. After brushing, it displays sections that need more attention next time (photo attached). I was amazed when I first started using the Sonicare brush, to realize that I did NOT spend enough time brushing when I used a manual toothbrush. It quickly answered the initial question in my mind of "do I really need an app to tell me how to brush my teeth". It also reminds me to floss and rinse. The sensation of using the Sonicare was pleasant. I was concerned that it might hurt my gums or sensitive areas of my teeth but there is absolutely no pain or unpleasantness, and it leaves my teeth feeling very clean, almost like after a dental cleaning. This brush will definitely help improve oral hygiene habits.

Sonic toothbrushes are by far my most favorite toothbrush on the market. I think it’s great for the kids because you could download the app and they can monitor the way they brush. I recommend the sonic toothbrush to anyone who doesn’t mind spending over $100 for a toothbrush

I love Sonicare and my previous generation was a regular power toothbrush, but this smart one changed the game. I have a senstive teeth and few parts that I can reach even with trying multiple brands and models and I honestly say this toothbrush gives a better cleaning and the smart lets you know where you are pressing and parts that need to be redone and you missed reaching it.High quality and easy to use. I recommend it of you are looking for a better cleaning and if you travel alot this comes with a convenient travel case that makes it easy to carry around. With the best cleanig result I don't think I can go back to the regular toothbrush.

The Phillips Sonicare Flexcare Platinum Connected (SFPC) replaced my aging Sonicare (over 5 years old) and so far I am enjoying the enhanced features. Despite offering two less cleaning modes, the SFPC features Bluetooth connectivity, as well as a pressure sensor my previous Sonicare lacked. I find that I didn’t really use the other modes in my older Sonicare anyways. The bluetooth interfaces with a phone running the Sonicare app and is suppose to aid in brushing. The app is a nice feature, though not necessary to use the toothbrush. I like how it simulates your brushing progress and knows whether you are brushing the front or back of your teeth based on the axis of the toothbrush. The app also displays notifications if you are using too much pressure or moving the brush too fast, though the brush itself will also pulse if you are applying too much pressure. I don’t know if I will use the app every time as it requires me to hold my phone out as I brush. Otherwise, I find myself looking down at the phone which is difficult to do while brushing (nobody wants toothpaste on their phone). The app also provides brush replacement notification as well as floss, rinse, and tongue scraping reminders; which can be turned on or off. I like the idea of having a connected toothbrush, but I rate the brush itself a little higher than the app. You are awarded points for proper brushing but they seem meaningless. I expected to see achievement rewards for earning the points, but so far it seems to be just a number. Perhaps they are planning on updating it in the future to offer more engagement. If you are looking to get an electric toothbrush I highly recommend the Sonicare line. If you want more feedback or enjoy gamification of everyday tasks then the SFPC is the brush for you!

Excellent Clean - With help of app guidance

I'll start by saying that after my first use of the brush, my mouth had a feeling of clean that it normally only gets from a dental hygienist. Also, In the past, I've used toothbrushes with built-in timers, but it would feel tedious doing the full two minutes and it would be rare that i went over one minute. Using the Android app, it was easy to do over 3 minutes with the touch-up suggestions. With this toothbrush, I have a visual guide which gives me feedback on how I'm brushing, tells me where to focus, and tells me if I'm pushing too hard or moving too fast. It appears it even has a guide that will tell me when to replace the head in the app, which reduces the guesswork on that. Pairing the toothbrush to my phone was easy as could be (app handled everything), and my only suggestion would be if you're leaving your phone on your sink while you brush, you might want a water resistant phone. At one point i thought the app was consistently missing me brushing a particular spot, however after 4 brushes "it is getting it now" (or more likely, i am) it may have been either I was pressing too hard in that spot,or i was moving too fast - however with practice i am now getting very good coverage on all teeth. A nice bonus of this toothbrush is it comes with a convenient carrying case which carries the motor portion plus two heads, perfect for when you travel.

Had been using the basic $25 sonicare toothbrush. This is a big improvement. A lot more powerful. Like the travel case as I travel a lot for work. Bluethooth function to your phone seems to work. Don't use it all of the time as I don't always have my phone on my when I am brushing my teeth. Build in 30 second slight change in speed is good to reminder you to move to the next section of your teeth. Seems to be well made.

The Sonicare FlexCare Platinum toothbrush seems like a fine device, but it isn't exceptional by any means. The toothbrush comes with two guides. The quick start guide is woefully incomplete and will leave you scratching your head. The second guide is much more complete, but it’s also way too long for easy reference. I’ll be honest, I had to rewrite this review because my initial review was rather negative and based entirely on my experience with the quick start guide. It’s not that the quick start guide is inaccurate; it’s just that it glosses over details that really do need to be elaborated on (like how you won’t be able to connect the brush to your phone via Bluetooth until you open the app). It also directs you to download the app from either the Apple App Store or Google Play; but there is no QR code, URL, or even a blurb explicitly telling you the app name to aid you in your search (it’s the “Sonicare” app by Philips in case you’re looking for it). The app isn’t difficult to find per se, but it’s annoying that you have to hunt for it when they could have easily directed you to it. The brush comes with two brush heads. One is triangle, and the other is circle. These are apparently just to differentiate brushes and have nothing to do with brush firmness or bristle size or anything. The app itself is useful without being exceptional. After guiding you through the initial setup and having you answer a few questions, you find yourself at the main screen. Pressing the power button on the brush handle starts your brushing session. A cartoon of your mouth will light up the section of your mouth that you’re supposed to be brushing, a timer in the center counts down your overall brushing session, and the brush will pause briefly to indicate when you’re supposed to move onto the next portion of your mouth. The brush will also flash up warnings if you’re using too much pressure or moving the brush too vigorously. If you try brushing your mouth outside of the app’s prescribed sequence, it will ignore you. Pressing the + and - buttons will increase or decrease the intensity of the brushing session. The app also provides dental health tips, and lets you specify “focus areas” based on your individual situation (i.e. cavities, bleeding gums, etc. . . .). It should be noted that the brush cannot identify these areas for you, and it’s entirely up to the user to input them. The app also seems very keen to have me clean my tongue, but it doesn’t provide any instruction whatsoever as to how to go about doing so. I have to confess that the brush does an excellent job of brushing, but the app is only of marginal use. I would maybe think twice before purchasing this toothbrush.

My dentist has told me that I'm brushing too hard for years but I never realized it, until now. Thanks to the bluetooth function, I now know when I'm a little "over zealous" and when I don't quite cover a certain area. My teeth feel so much better as a result. This is my first SoniCare (I was using another brand prior) and I can definitely tell the difference.

This toothbrush was recommended to me by a dental hygienist and it definitely lives up to its hype. My teeth have never felt this clean except after a dentist appointment. After only one week of use, people were complimenting how white my teeth were - and it was all from the toothbrush! Money well spent!

This toothbrush makes me question the necessity of dental insurance! From the first time I used this my teeth felt just like post dentist. I thought I would never use the bluetooth functionality but once I tried it I was hooked. The app guides you to the best brushing, where to brush more, too much pressure and more.

The toothbrush works great. However, it should be noted that I chose this particular model because I wanted the charging station that includes UV sanitizing light that supposedly is supposed to come with it. When I got the package, I opened up the box and only a very basic charging station with holders for two toothbrush heads was included. Not sure if this is a Best Buy thing or a Phillips thing, but it was a bummer.

Philips Most Innovative Electric Toothbrush Yet!

This product couldn't have come at a better time. My previous Philips Sonicare DiamondClean toothbrush finally failed on me after 4.5 years. As a result, I've been using a manual toothbrush for the last few months so I couldn't have been more excited to try out this new electric toothbrush by Philips. First of all, let me start off by saying that if you've never owned a Sonicare product or used an electric toothbrush in your life, you are doing your oral health a disservice. There is a reason why practically any dentist office you visit will recommend a Philips Sonicare as their "go-to" toothbrush. The first time you brush with a Sonicare, you'll feel like you just got a cleaning at the dentist. The difference is that significant. Too add to this, I recently visited the dentist after 7 years of not going. Yeah, I know, I can't believe it myself. I was very surprised that I was told that I had no cavities. I can't say for sure that it's solely because I've been using nothing but Sonicare brushes for the last 7 years but I strongly believe that it's a significant contributing factor. Anyway, onto the review! I will be breaking down this review into the following categories: construction/design, features, and accessories. Construction/Design: As always Philips never skimps on the quality of the construction that goes into making their toothbrushes. This Sonicare Flexcare Platinum feels very solid in the hand. It has a very ergonomic design with a rubber application on the back of the handle to help with grip when it's wet. The power button has a quality brushed aluminum feel, although I do believe it's plastic. The up and down sensitivity buttons, as well as the cleaning mode button, feel hefty and sturdy. Lovin' it! Features: This is by far the most innovative Philips Sonicare yet and it's what you're paying for. The toothbrush has bluetooth technology so you're able to download the Philips Sonicare app on your iOS or Android device to customize and track your brushing experience. Pairing is very easy. You basically ensure bluetooth is enabled on your mobile device, pick up the handle off the base, and launch the app. The app will automatically discover the toothbrush and the rest is history. For me, the app worked consistently with no issues. I love that you get to see a diagram of what side you are brushing and spots that you missed. When your brushing session is over, it gives you a chance to go back and brush the spots that you missed. The app also allows you to set goals like plaque removal, whitening, fresh breath, gum health, etc. Setting these goals will provide a customized brushing experience in order to attain these goals. I love that the brush allows you to set your sensitivity level. Coming from brushing with a manual toothbrush for the last few months, the highest setting was a little too strong for my teeth and gums. The medium setting was perfect! After several brushing sessions I have moved up to the highest setting. I would like to note that all of Philips Sonicare tests and claims were tested on the highest setting according to the included material that came with the toothbrush. The toothbrush has cleaning mode (standard), whitening, and deep clean. I have tried all three and there is definitely a difference in the brushing experience. Whether it will truly accomplish those goals remains to be seen. I love that Philips included a pressure sensor in this brush. According to my dentist, almost everyone brushes too hard. We do it subconsciously because it feels as if we're getting a deeper clean. Another new (at least to me) and innovative feature by Philips. Huge kudos! When brushing, the toothbrush breaks up the brushing locations in your mouth into 6 sections. You can either use the app to get a visual representation or you can wait for the little vibration alerts in the brush to tell you when it's time to move onto the next section. Personally, I preferred the way my previous Sonicare Diamond Clean broke up the mouth into 4 sections. It's simple and straightforward. I understand why Philips broke it up into 6 sections. It's more concentrated and focused resulting in a deeper clean. While that may be true, I find myself thinking too much while I brush and sometimes even rushing a little to make sure I make the next section in time. It would have been nice for Philips to have given the user the option of 4 sections or 6 for those of us that got used to their older products. Overall, this is a small gripe but when you're using this product everyday, twice a day, it can become somewhat of an annoyance. Accessories: The Philips Sonicare Flexcare Platinum comes with two different brush heads, a charging base, an add-on which attaches to the base to house your brush heads, and a plastic travel case. Quite frankly, I was more impressed with the accessories that came with my previous Diamond Clean. For around the same price point, the Diamond Clean came with a glass cup that you place on top of the charging base. You simply drop the brush in the glass cup and now you have something to use when you rinse your mouth. The Diamond Clean also came with a really nice nylon textured travel case that you were able to charge so you didn't have to take the charging base with you. I also wished that Philips would have included the UV sanitizer with this model. They do, however, include it in the HX9192/02 model for 20 dollars more. It's the exact same product as this except it comes with the UV sanitizer. Overall, this is a great electric toothbrush and likely the most innovative we've seen yet. Using the app provided a very consistent experience and I have yet to encounter a situation where there are connection issues. Every brushing session is a pleasure and leaves my mouth feeling like I just left the dentist.
