    Silent But Healthy

I got the Phillips Sonicare Power Flosser 3000 as I'd heard from a number of people in my circle of friends about how great a water flosser was. I've never been a huge fan of flossing for a number of reasons, chief among them my gums never seemed to "toughen up" leading to sore mouth or bleeding after flossing. I hoped that water flossing would be a solution to my oral hygiene woes. The setup was super easy as its just a base with the flosser hose, a tank that sits on top for the water, and two flosser heads: a standard round opening and the new cross stream head. You plug in the base, adjust the pressure, pick up your flosser (the cord seemed plenty long enough for me and I'm 6'5" with a low bathroom counter), and turn it on. I started with the cross stream as it had a rubber end which I thought would allow me a learning curve at how close was too close. I started at minimum pressure and worked up to about midway before I felt like it was comfortable without being over pressured for my tender gums. I went through most of the tank and was done in just a few minutes. The next day I swapped heads and again worked up from minimum to about mid pressure (I may have gone a little lower since the single larger stream seemed to have a bit more umph). I didn't get sore, I didn't bleed, and while I did make a mess since that water has to go somewhere once your mouth is full (either pause to spit periodically, lean over the sink and dribble, or maybe its something you just evolve a solution for after using for a while). Day three I tried the Pulse Wave mode which pulses the water bursts allowing a brief pause telling you to move from the current tooth to the next. I found that Pulse Wave was a good idea but the pause seemed too brief for me to get moved to the next position accurately before it began spraying again. While only time will tell if it was effective for healthier gums I was mistaken in suspecting it would REPLACE flossing. You still need floss the old fashioned way to remove debris between your teeth but the Sonicare Power Flosser 3000 works great for the gum line plaque and buildup. The box calls out its Whisper Quiet technology too and this is no lie, its almost silent until it runs out of water, which isn't likely to happen before you're done. This is a really solid product and if you wear braces this is a MUST BUY since its so much easier and quicker than dealing with the braces flossers of a traditional string variety.

Traditional flossing with old school string floss has never been an easy task for me. The string would always break and it always felt so time consuming. This Philips Sonicare Power Flosser makes caring for your gums easier. There are two different heads and a regular clean and deep clean, along with different power settings. It's quick and efficient. It is perfect for getting that extra clean feeling after a brushing and with a quad stream nozzle it covers much more surface than a flossing string ever could. It is large, but that just means it can hold more water in its reservoir giving you a longer cleaning session but it would be nice if it was the same size as a standard electric toothbrush, nevertheless this is the best gum care you're going to get short of going to the dentist.

    Best Water Flosser I've Tried

My dentist suggested I look at getting a home water flossing system, because I hate using regular floss and have to wear a retainer. My dad had an earlier Philips version, so I opted to try this one out. My wife had tried another, battery powered unit from a different brand, so my experience will be comparing and contrasting that. The Philips Power Flosser 3K is your standard water flossing system. The device requires power and does take up a bit of bathroom counter space, so be mindful of that with your setup. The unit itself comes with 2 interchangeable heads: 1 standard water flossing head and another for sensitive gums. The unit has 2 cleaning modes: normal, with a steady pulse, and deep clean with a rapid, short burst pulse. There's an adjustable knob of the device as well so you can keep the water pressure as light as you like or crank it up. The water flosser wand is attached via cord to the base. On the wand itself, you have a slide toggle to start flossing and an eject button to swap cleaning heads. The toggle on the wand was a nice feature because the cordless one my wife had started spraying as soon as you turned it on, which led to more than a few instances of water blasting all over the place. The first time I used it, I immediately noticed how sensitive my teeth were to the colder, focused temperature of the water flosser and my gums actually bled a bit. Over the past week of using it regularly, the bleeding has all but stopped and I now prefer to use this versus the disposable tooth pick option. I've been using the standard water head and my wife's been using the sensitive one. Needless to say, we threw her older, battery powered one out because we like this more.

Who hasn't heard from their dentist that using a water flosser is highly recommended! It has been my experience that they definitely remove food particles from one's teeth that brushing just can't get. This Sonicare Power Flosser 3000 has all the necessary features to get the job done right. One can choose between Clean and Deep Clean, and adjust the dial to achieve the water pressure intensity that suits individual needs. The Quad Stream, X cross-shaped tip creates four wide streams and does a nice job of cleaning the tooth and gum area. I'm happy with the job that the Power Flosser 3000 does on my teeth and I'm hoping that Sonicare claims of improved gum health and better plaque removal make future dental visits a breeze. If I had to suggest one improvement, it would be to have a somewhat larger water reservoir for convenience.

I really don't like flossing, but this power flosser makes it easy and painless. Its easy to set up and the setting that is most effective for me is clean with the dial at 10. The pulsing water works very well in getting food out from between my crowns without causing the bleeding that flossing with string or a floss pick causes. I will say that having it set at 10 fills my mouth with water quite fast, so using it over a sink as recommended is definitely needed. The water reservoir is large enough to get through all of my teeth with one fill, but I would say the hose could be a little longer. Overall this is a great alternative to flossing and I would definitely recommend it to a friend.

    Pressure Washer For Your Mouth

Tired of sticking your fingers in your mouth to work dental floss between your teeth? This water jet flosser is just the ticket. Two tips, the F1 single stream and the F3 quad stream are included. Both work well, I have decided to use the single stream in the morning and quad stream before turning in for the night to get rid of any food particles picked up during daily meals. Water stream is very powerful, I am unable to set the pressure any higher than 6 before gum sensitivity kicks in. A setting of 4 or 5 is perfect for good cleaning in my case. The Deep Clean setting really isn't necessary for me. I remember using a Water Pick growing up, this is a step above and highly recommended.

This is easy to use and setup, doesn't take up much counter space either. I find myself needing to refill the small water tank twice per use. I would say this works well, but not as well as regular flossing does. You will still need to floss stubborn particles of food and so on. I can see where using this in the morning and evening may help to better stimulate your gums better than regular flossing in my opinion. But I don't see this replacing standard floss anytime soon.

My first experience with a power flosser. I have been using an electric toothbrush for a few years now and when I started using that I definitely noticed my teeth felt cleaner after brushing compared to a normal toothbrush. The power flosser takes this even further. Now even between my teeth I have that clean just from the dentist feeling. This definitely feels like it does a better job than manual flossing and my dentist actually recommended a power flosser as well.

The Philips Sonicare Power Flosser 3000 is quite the handy-dandy dental tool. It comes with everything you need to get those teeth and gums back in shape. I’ve found that the single stream “nozzle” is the easiest to manipulate, and even that, for me, needed to be only turned up to just under half pressure. Using the quad attachment turned out to be rather comical at first. I found I could water all the plants in the house at the same time I was flossing. The cat didn’t really…never mind. Just wish I’d had the Go-Pro turned on…. Anyway, this Power Flosser 3000 really is something to consider when wanting to improve your dental hygiene. And that quad attachment does work — but there is a bit of a learning curve and the water reservoir empties quickly. By the way, I like using a solution of about 4:1, water to mouthwash, in the reservoir. Then I follow up with a good full-strength swish-and-spit to top things off. I also figure that because of where I live, it would probably be a good idea to run some white vinegar through the system every month or so to combat hard water scale buildup. I think this is a worthwhile investment.

    Teeth Never Felt So Clean

Philips Sonicare Power Flosser 3000 is a must have for dental hygiene. It is my first foray in an electric flosser and what a great experience it has been. My teeth and gums feels so much cleaner after using it that I am not sure how I have lived without it. For me the biggest struggle was deciding the best way to use it to minimize the mess. I found closing my mouth around it while flossing my teeth in sections and then spitting was the best way to do it. So I split my teeth into quadrants and complete a quadrant and spit out the water collected. I started off on the lowest setting and have found I am running it now at about half full power now that I have used it a week or so. It can definitely hurt to use if you have very sensitive teeth or gums, but thankfully it can be turned way down to allow just about anyone but the most sensitive to use. My only real complaint is that I wish the water reservoir was a bit a bigger. I am finding I have to fill it about every third use. While it is super easy and quick to fill it would still be nice if it were a bit bigger. Overall, I love the Power Flosser 3000 and can easily recommend it.

This water flossed is excellent. It cleans very well and has a variety of settings for how strong the water shoots out. And it’s fast; takes about a minute to do the job. I got it at a fantastic price.

I don’t really like this unit. I’m not sure if it’s specific to this particular flosser or flossers in general, but I’d rather just manually floss than use this thing. First of all, the wall wart is huge. See the attached picture where I compare the size to my wedding ring. I don’t know if Philips couldn’t build the power supply into the base of the unit because of some kind of code regulation since it’s being used in a wet environment or if there was some other reason but, regardless, it’s too big and takes up too much space on precious bathroom outlets. Next, you basically have to keep your mouth closed when using it otherwise you’ll splash water everywhere and make a huge mess (my wife did this the first time she tried using it). Since your mouth is closed, you can’t see what you’re doing. If you’re used to manually flossing and seeing each individual tooth, this is a huge adjustment to have to make. Probably most important, though, is that I just don’t feel like the flosser actually does anything. That is, I don’t feel like it’s actually cleaning between my teeth. In fact, after using the flosser, I still have been manually flossing to make sure I don’t actually make my teeth/gums worse!

Thank God I saved my box. Started leaking within a month. I have used a water pik for 43 years . First time to try Philips product. The container to hold the water wasn't enough to clean all my teeth and I had to refill. I wasn't hoping to like it.
