Customers are saying

Customers praise the ProtectiveClean 4100 for its exceptional cleaning ability, long-lasting battery life, and ease of use. Many also appreciate its affordable price and the helpful built-in timer. While some found the vibration level somewhat intense and noted a lack of advanced features or multiple cleaning modes compared to higher-priced models, the positive feedback on cleaning effectiveness and battery life outweighs these concerns for most users.

      Hi,

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. It's unfortunate to hear that you have been facing difficulties with the battery life of your brush. In order to see if this can be fixed, we would like to suggest letting the brush charge for a full 24 hours with no interruptions, making use of its original charger and avoiding any metal surfaces or other electronic devices. Perhaps trying a different power outlet can help too. Also, please make sure that the brush head has been replaced after about 3 months of use.
We hope that these tips can make your brush come back to life. However, if this is not the case, please feel free to get in touch via social media. We’re available 24/7 on Facebook and Twitter. Alternatively, you can reach out to us via the contact page on our website. One of our colleagues will then try their best to help you further.

This is my second Phillips Sonicare product. I needed another unit for a second home. I've tried competitive products but found them to be noisy and they didn't last long. Phillips creates a high-quality electric toothbrush for a very affordable price. You can feel the quality in your hand. There is minimal noise when running. The 30-second interval sequences allows you to do a thorough job every time you brush. I highly-recommend this product. Now if they can only lower the price of the replacement brushes!!!

This is a really nice toothbrush. It does a great job in cleaning your teeth. If you have never used a Sonic Care style of brush before, don't worry it automatically increases its strength for the first 14 days so you can get used to it.. Pretty cool feature. The only thing I don't like is the back of the toothbrush head is just plastic. They should have put rubber around the edges so the plastic doesn't hit two teeth opposite of the brush. I see they have done this on more expensive models, so I'm sure you can get replacement heads that do have this feature (see photo for example). That is the only reasons why I give it 4 stars instead of 5. The brush feels very nice in your hand, you can tell this is a quality made product. Much better than their previous versions. Holds charge for a long time.

I used to have oral b brush, which was really good. When I started using this brush, my teeth started turning yellow, may be it’s not cleaning as good as oralb brush. Didn’t like it, waste of money.

My first electric toothbrush and I really like it! My teeth feel smooth like I just had them cleaned at the dentist, and it feels like it is much gentler on my teeth than my regular brush. I like that there is sensor when you are pressing too hard - as I know I do often. The battery seemed to last just about 10 days but was a quick charge/recharge. So far, very pleased with this!!

I've never had an "electric" toothbrush before. I really like using this Philips model (which is the least expensive of their "smart" models) for a few reasons. First, the built-in timer lets you know how long you should be brushing. It beeps every 30 seconds for 2 minutes so that you can spend 30 seconds brushing each quadrant of your mouth. Which revealed to me that I was spending far too little time brushing my teeth. Another feature I like is that it lets you know if you are brushing with too much pressure. The vibration changes if you are pressing against your teeth too hard; pressing too hard can can erode your tooth enamel quite quickly which can lead to other serious problems. The toothbrush also tells you when it is time to change the brush for a new one. And if the battery runs out you can still just use it like a regular toothbrush. The only thing that isn't perfect is that replacement brush wands are a little pricey and I don't yet know how long they will last.

I was stunned when I first used the Sonicare Protective Clean, for it has been many years since I owned an electric toothbrush. It is VERY fast, and at first I thought I was not using it properly, but I was. It brushes your teeth in about 2 minutes. It beeps to let you know to move to the next quardrant. I recently received braces and the Sonicare 4100 was a godsend. It moves around and between my wires without any problems. I would give 5 stars if it had a fast AND slow setting. Would recommend.

The best Cleaning toothbrush I ever had!

The Phillips Sonicare 4100 toothbrush is an ultrasonic tooth cleaning device. This makes it more than an ordinary toothbrush. The ultrasound vibrates the head to clean the surface and between the teeth including the gum line. You may have tried many other toothbrushes but none get your teeth this kind of clean except a professional cleaning at your dentist. I am not kidding, I have had several electric and manual brushes and none of them leave my teeth feeling like this. The brush has a built in program guiding you through a 2 minute cycle, 30 seconds per side upper and lower. A pressure sensor that lets you know if you are brushing too hard by changing tone. There is a built in program to increase the ultrasonic energy over the first few uses so you can get used to it if you have sensitive teeth otherwise you can bypass that by holding the power button on while it is on the charging stand and wait for the three tones hi, medium and low. Since I started using this brush my teeth feel great, I don’t think I will ever try another brand. I plan on buying my wife one soon.

Much Better Than a Manual Toothbrush

This Sonicare toothbrush does exactly as advertised. It cleans your teeth better than a manual toothbrush and it helps you regulate your brushing to two minutes with its built in timer. I have had several Sonicare toothbrushes over the years. I have also tried the other electric toothbrushes. I prefer to use the vibrating (i.e. sonic) technology because it can clean near the gum line without damaging the gums. While I am not a dentist, the toothbrushes that spin in circles seem to tear up your gums and only brush in one direction. I also like that simpler models of the Sonicare toothbrush, like this one. I have had versions that have lots of settings and options and find that on a daily basis all I use is the on and off button. I would say that it is nice that this one has an indicator as to when the brush head should be changed. Because these brush heads are built so well, they don't wear out like manual brushes and I often find myself using the same head for months longer than I should. In my opinion there is no negatives for this brush and I would highly recommend it.

    Good Electric Toothbrush

This is my first electric toothbrush and I have to say I do prefer it to a manual one. Comes with a handy charger and a full charge is supposed to last two weeks haven't had time to test this yet. It pulses every 30 seconds to remind you to switch to another quadrant of your mouth and shuts off after 2 minutes which is how long you should spend brushing your teeth. It also pulses if you are applying too much pressure. If this is your first electric toothbrush remember it kind of feels like a dental cleaning but just think of all the plaque and grossness its getting rid of. I'm happy with this product and plan on using it as my regular brush. It comes with one new head brush and they are supposed to last two months I found replacement's online for a fair price.

If you are already used to an electric toothbrush, you would think that using a different electric toothbrush would not be much different. But this one has an entirely different feel from my old rotating electric toothbrush. The bristles don’t move or rotate, they pulsate extremely fast and actually tickle your gums (in a good way). The out-of-the-box setting has a 14 use “warm up” cycle which I recommend to get used to the different sensation of brushing. It is quieter than the Braun and there are 2 sounds - one tone change when you are pressing too hard and a different tone when it’s time to move to another mouth quadrant (every 30) seconds. Overall, I really like the toothbrush. I am looking forward to seeing if my dentist notices a difference.

    Sonicare Clean, Basic Feature Set

There appear to be a lot of products in the Sonicare lineup these days. This model, the ProtectiveClean 4100, seems to be one of the more basic options. I've used a few different Sonicare toothbrush models, and they all do a great job cleaning teeth. This being a newer model, it's quieter, lighter, and has a smaller brush head than some of the older ones. I like the smaller brush head as it fits into tighter spaces around my back molars. There are just a few extra features on the ProtectiveClean 4100. Like most (all?) Sonicare toothbrushes, there's a 2-minute timer, this one has a reminder every 30 seconds to move from one quadrant of your mouth to the next. It also keeps track of your brush heads and a reminder light comes on to let you know when it's time to change. Other than that, just a great Sonicare clean in a lightweight package. This did not come with a travel case, however, which would have been nice.
