I have always been a little skeptical of the value of powered toothbrushes, but the Philips Sonicare ExpertClean 7300 has convinced me. I have now used the 7300 for more than a week. I even went back to a traditional toothbrush for a few days to see how much of a difference I could tell. It is a night and day difference. I plan to stick with this 7300 for as long as it'll work. Once it dies, I'll get another like it. From day one, it felt like it did a more thorough job brushing my teeth than I could do with a manual toothbrush. It gave you that fresh-from-the-dentist feeling. It also felt a lot better on my gums than my regular brush did. After a week, my teeth are noticeably whiter, and my gums seems to be in better shape. There are three modes: Clean, Gum Health, and Deep Clean. I mostly use the basic Clean mode, and it does a terrific job. In the Clean mode, be prepared for it to run almost exactly 2 minutes. The only adjustment I had to make in my usual process is that you shouldn't take the 3700 out of your mouth to rinse your mouth while using it.  The battery lasts a long time. I recently took it on a business trip but didn't take the charger. It lasted for the entire trip (almost a week) and never showed any signs of slowing down.  Instructions included with the 3700 were scant. I downloaded the Philips app and then paired the 3700 with my phone. This can give you regular tracking updates about your use. Even without that sort of extra data, the 3700 is a winner. I love this little guy and am very happy to have found it.

    Broke after 1 month

This broke after a month of normal use. Spent 30 mins on the phone with Sonicare, while they took info and put me on hold. Then I had to email the receipt to them, and now have to wait up to 48 hrs for them to reply. She said after I respond to their reply, they will replace my handle only, which will take 7-10 business days. Couldn't even replace my brush head, for 45 mins of my time (assuming I don't have to mail this back to them, who knows), and being without a toothbrush for 2 weeks.

I really liked it while it lasted. After a few months of use the battery wouldn't charge. The brush was dead and no matter what I tried couldn't get it to charge. Not sure if it was the charger or the battery itself but, basically wasted $130.

Using Sonicare 7300 a Day Keeps the Dentist Away

I switched to an electric Toothbrush over 10 years ago & upgrade to gain the benefit from the latest connected models about every other year. This is my first time to try the Philips - Sonicare brand (I have been using various Braun Oral-B connected models). The Sonicare ExpertClean 7300 Rechargeable Toothbrush has a precision, premium quality feel. It is thinner & lighter weight than the Oral-B Genius 8000 that I have been using - and easier to hold. It includes the handle, 2) smart brushes, a carry case & a USB charging base. The Sonicare brushes with barely any vibration to your hand as you hold the handle. It operates the brush so fast (31,000 strokes / minute), all you hear is a very pleasant, high frequency "whir". By contrast, the Oral-B brush moves much slower & sounds like a noisy reciprocating electric motor (no whirring sound). I could not find the strokes / minute published for the Oral-B). I love the massaging feel of the ExpertClean 7300 on your teeth & gums! It is MUCH easier on the gums & does not "hurt" on sensitive teeth. The toothbrushes makes a unique "buzz" sound every 20 seconds. This alert guides you to brush upper / lower / right / left side so when your 2 minute brush cycle is complete, it lets you know. The Bluetooth toothbrush connection to the free app provides quality feedback so you know if you are brushing with too much pressure, not long enough, etc. The smart heads transmit toothbrushing data via Bluetooth. This is quite a sophisticated system. CONCLUSION: The Philips - Sonicare ExpertClean 7300 Rechargeable Toothbrush is a great healthcare product that makes the toothbrushing routine consistent & interesting. I love the gentle, yet powerful cleaning action of this toothbrush. The Sonicare ExpertClean 7300 has already forged it's place as my favorite toothbrush & earns my Highest Recommendation.

    Great brush, better dental health

This toothbrush works great, and helps you form better brushing habits. My teeth feel more clean than previous brushing alone (electric disposable brush). The feature of a timer to help brush a dental zone takes some getting used to, it is only a slight momentary change in vibration. Compared to previous brushing habits, I was brushing longer than the recommended 2 minutes but without any sense of how long in each area. There is also a change in vibration if you are using too much pressure, which takes time to recognize. This helps when you are using a bad angle of brushing, or just manhandling a toothbrush with no regard. I was concerned about a rechargeable brush, as battery life tends to decay in such devices. However after 3 weeks I'm still on the initial charge with no performance degradation as the battery discharges. I expect if the battery/charging is maintained the brush handle should last. The first full charge is a recommended 24 hours, and battery life is shown on the handle by 3 dots. The device comes with the handle, charger, 2 brush heads (1 cleaning, 1 gum care) and a travel/storage case. The charger is small, slightly larger than the base of the brush handle and uses standard outlet power. The charger also does not fit in the storage case, only the handle and 2 brush heads. Be sure to charge before travel, or pack the charger and necessary adapters for any international power. Philips also has an app that can connect to the brush handle via Bluetooth. The app will give you a week-in-review showing days that brushing involved too much pressure or skipped for a session. It will also show you "remaining sessions" for your current brush head. The brush heads are about 90 days of brushing 2x/day. You can order replacement heads or reach out for a dental consultation as well. The app is free, the review is free, but consults or replacements cost are in-app purchases. The cons I have about this device are more personal. The charger could use a USB type input instead of a direct power outlet type cord. This would make it more portable. The brush shuts off after 2 minutes (6 dental zone changes, 20s per zone). If you miss the cue to change zones, the brush will shut off before you're done. It is recommended to brush your tongue, but do not include that as a dental zone. Overall however, it seems to be a fantastic toothbrush and is helping form better brushing habits. I actually look forward to the next dentist visit to verify any differences.

    Cleans your teeth

I hate going to the dentist. In fact I go 3 times a year because even though I brush and floss twice a day I build up a lot of plaque on my teeth for some reason. My dentist recommends the Oral B electric toothbrush and that's what I've been using for the last 3 years or so. But since the dentist cleans my teeth with an ultrasonic machine I figured this Philips unit might help to keep my teeth even cleaner. Does it clean better than my Oral B? I honestly can't tell. I've only used it for a few weeks now but I can't say that I can see a difference. I would have to wait a few months until the next time I see my dentist to see if they notice anything. I will say that the vibration of the toothbrush is a bit off-putting. The buzzing it makes tends to vibrate certain parts of my jaw. I find that the toothbrush can be hard to keep in place as it wants to slide off my teeth a lot of the time, especially my front teeth. The vibration really seems to bother my back molars but not enough that it would make me stop using the toothbrush. It just feels a little weird. The toothbrush has 3 ultrasonic intensity setting and I ended up turning it all the way down to the lowest setting. I also don't like that the toothbrush automatically shuts off after you have brushed for 2 minutes. I like to brush a little bit longer, (I usually go for about 3 minutes or so). My Oral B will stay on after it has completed its cycle. I wish the Philips did also. The Sonicare upp is pretty much useless though. The manual says that it has a feature where it will keep track of your brushing, even telling you when to move to the next section and if you missed a spot. Well this feature does not work with the 7300. Maybe it's for the higher priced models. So about all you can do with the app is see how many times a day you're brushing and order more brush heads if you need them. Like I said, pretty much pointless. Who wants to bring their phone into the bathroom when they're brushing their teeth anyway? The battery life on this toothbrush is outstanding. I've used it for 2 weeks and haven't had to recharge it yet. My Oral B barely lasts more than 3 or 4 days.

Hi Jason, thank you for taking your time to leave this review. We regret to hear that your experience with our Sonicare was not perfect, and we would like to see how we can improve this issue. May we suggest charging your toothbrush for 24 hours straight on the working power outlet and away from metal surfaces that may interfere during the charging? Sometimes fully charging your Sonicare can resolve the issue completely.

I've only ever used a manual toothbrush. I've been using the Philips Sonicare ExpertClean toothbrush for about a week and a half. It's a tremendous improvement over manual brushing. It has three different power levels and you can set it to build up to the maximum power over 14 days if you're used to using a manual toothbrush like I was. It has three different modes as well. Clean, gum health and deep clean +. The clean and deep clean + modes helps remove plaque while the gum health mode helps remove plaque and massages the gums. This version comes with two different brush heads. One is for plaque control and the other is for gum care. You simply slide the brush head onto the handle and it automatically detects which one is attached and adjusts accordingly. It comes with a hard travel cases that holds the handle as well as two brush heads. There is an app that you can download. It allows you to track your progress. It shows how many times per day you brush, how long you brush for and if you are applying the right amount pressure when you brush. It also keeps track of when you should replace the brush head. If you are applying too much pressure, the brush will pause until you reduce pressure. It also changes the vibration when you should move from one section of your teeth to the next. It automatically shuts off after two minutes of brushing. Overall I have seen a major improvement in my dental health after using this toothbrush. My teeth feel much cleaner after brushing with the Sonicare ExpertClean. I wish that I would have ditched the manual toothbrush years ago.

This Sonicare toothbrush is the first electric toothbrush of it's caliber that I have owned, I have tried a few of you more basic electric toothbrushes but my experience with this blows them all away! The whole kit comes with the charger, two different brush heads (with their own plastic covers) and a carrying case beside the toothbrush itself. There are three different modes of clean, that you select while the brush is off, and three different speeds that you can adjust while the brush is on. You definitely get a "sonic" feel while brushing, giving you a gentle brushing experience, I did not feel any aggressive vibrations while using the toothbrush. The bristles themselves are fairly soft and have not irritated me during my use. There is an app you can set up to help maintain your brushing habits and gives you feedback on pressure within the app to help brush properly. The brush itself does have some vibration patterns to signify when smart sensors are triggered, the app can help you understand their feedback. It's also nice that the toothbrush tracks the time you brush your teeth and will light up when it is time to replace your brush head. Overall I am very happy with this product, with the inclusion of the travel case I get to take this in place of my normal travel toothbrush. Need to get a feel for the battery life, the product states 14 days, so it should last most of the trip. I would recommend this brush to anyone looking for an electric toothbrush!

I am fairly new to Sonicare toothbrushes, crazy right?! But these are the best ones on the market HANDS DOWN. OB spinbrush doesn't even compare. I bought one of each back in March or April and right away regretted not getting 2 Sonicare ones. My teeth have never felt cleaner. My dentist even said I had little to NO build up on my teeth... that is insane for me because my teeth always had a ton of calculus buildup on the bottom front teeth, even with regular brushing and flossing... not anymore! Best decision I ever made for my teeth was buying this brand. If you have a build up problem, get one, you wont regret it! *FYI the battery on Sonicares last twice to triple the amount of time as an OR spinbrush. I have to charge my daughters spinbrush twice before I have to charge my Sonicare. It definitely lasts at the very least a FULL WEEK on one charge*

    Nice toothbrush, powerful, elegant design

I’ve been using electric toothbrushes for a long time, my current toothbrush, a Braun, is probably about 5 years old. This is my first experience with Sonicare. I’ve always been curious to try out Sonicare to see how it compares to Brauns. The Sonicare 7300 came with 2 toothbrush heads, toothbrush covers and a travel case. Toothbrushes have come a long way since the last time I upgraded, the 7300 can connect to your phone via Bluetooth and it recognizes which toothbrush head you’re using (brushsync technology). It features multiple brush modes, clean, deep clean and gum health. It’s almost too much technology for a toothbrush! Do I really need my toothbrush to connect to my phone? First off, I love the toothbrush covers, many times when I travel, I usually have to find a clean pouch or bag to store my toothbrush in. With these covers, I can cover the brush heads and put the toothbrush in my bag of toiletry or use the travel case. The design of this toothbrush is very nice, it’s thinner then most I’ve seen and the toothbrush head is smaller than some traditional toothbrushes! The black color has a nice look to it, but I feel this would hide the algae or mold, should it accumulate. The speed at which the toothbrush vibrates or oscillates is much faster than my current toothbrush. I know it’s a different design but it seems to be brushing my teeth many times faster. It feels powerful, but not too much that it hurts your teeth, nice balance. I downloaded the Philips Sonicare app and synced the toothbrush to my phone. The app provides stats such as average brushing time, missed brushing, pressure applied, all this is shown in a graphs and charts that are easy to understand. It also tells me when I should change toothbrush heads. While all this may be useful to some, all I wanted to know is how long I’ve been brushing in real time, not for the past week, basically a timer. There doesn’t seem to be one. My old Braun came with a separate timer that started whenever the toothbrush was turned on, when you’re done brushing, it shows a clock, it’s a nice feature. Overall, this is a very nice toothbrush that performs well. My mouth felt clean after I brushed, I can’t say for certain my teeth are cleaner vs using my old Braun toothbrush. It almost feels like that polishing tool my dentist uses on me when he’s finished cleaning my teeth. I would definitely recommend this, but also check out the other Sonicare options first. Pro’s: Small toothbrush head design, even smaller than traditional toothbrushes. High speed movement of toothbrush head to clean your teeth. Con’s: App doesn’t have timer feature. Pricier than other models, not sure what you’re getting on this over the other models such as 5000 series.

Your Dentist Will Notice the Difference

When/If you first switch to a toothbrush like the Philips Sonicare, you will notice a striking difference. It does take a minute to get used to the vibration sensations on your teeth and to figure out how to hold the thing without jiggling your whole skull. Once you get that far, clean teeth await. My hygienist recently commented on how little work there was for her after I switched to one of these toothbrushes. This new model has a number of small improvements that I'm definitely enjoying. Build quality and battery life are typical Philips Sonicare and are top-notch. I'm not too sure about the black color, we'll see if it results in more expensive replacement brush heads, or starts to show toothpaste tracks more easily than the typical white color, that might be annoying. The inclusion of the carrying case and brush head covers is a nice convenience and something I've been expecting with ALL their brushes for quite some time. I'm also still unsure I need my toothbrush to be Bluetooth, but hey it's there, and the app will coach you brush better, feel free to harness the power of big data. Automatic brush head sensing is pretty cool too. I can live without the White+ mode that is found on the more expensive 7500 model, and the battery level meter provides less information. These are both things I can live without to save money. My only complaint about this brush, and it's inherent in all the Sonicare line - there is almost always a gap between the head and the body of the brush, where toothpaste will collect, and it will need to be disassembled and cleaned on a regular basis. The brush heads appear to be made to fit flush, but based on the friction fit design they NEVER do, even with the proper Phillps ones. This minor annoyance isn't enough for me to eschew oral health, however. Overall I love this toothbrush, this particular model is a good blend of options and value. I would buy it again and I would recommend it to others.

The Sonicare ExpertClean 7300 Rechargeable Toothbrush by Philips is one of those products that you think shouldn't have a battery attached to it, but once you try it.. it's hard to imagine having to go back to a regular toothbrush. I'm a long time user of the traditional, non-electric, non-battery operated toothbrushes. They're cheap and sort of gets the job done. However, lots of time I find myself either applying too much pressure or not enough pressure when I'm brushing my teeth, which either leads to my gums bleeding or more flossing work needing to be done. This Sonicare ExpertClean 7300 Rechargeable Toothbrush by Philips automates a lot of the tooth-brushing experiencing. You no longer have to worry about applying too much or too little pressure with this toothbrush. Simply select one of three different modes (Clean, Gum Health, or Deep Clean), wet the brush and apply your toothpaste, press against your teeth and turn it on. Depending on the mode that you selected, you will notice a different vibration pattern from the Sonicare ExpertClean 7300. After a few weeks of using the Sonicare ExpertClean 7300, I noticed that I have had less flossing work to do since the Sonicare ExpertClean 7300 is able to dislodge and remove a large portion of food build up from the teeth. Overall I sincerely recommend this Sonicare ExpertClean 7300 by Philips for anyone who is looking to try or replace an existing rechargeable toothbrush.

This is my second Philips Sonicare electric toothbrush and I have been very happy with both. My last toothbrush lasted me almost 3 years and I am hoping this Philips lasts as long. All teeth aren't made the same way and I love how this model has 3 sensitivity modes to help you adjust to your teeth. If this is your first time with this brush I would start with the lowest intensity level and eventually build up. The brush does come with the Easy Start feature which increases the power of the handle over the first 14 cleanings. This toothbrush also comes equipped with a pressure sensor which lets you know if you are applying too much pressure while you brush. Another nice feature is the brush head replacement reminder. As with most gadgets now a days, this brush comes with an app. This app gives you feedback on how well you are brushing based on how often you use it. Overall, you want a toothbrush that makes your mouth feel clean and this Philips Sonicare hands down does this.
