Questionable service trial period & billing

I cannot speak for the quality of the service. The single star is because the trial begins from the date of purchase (was an add-on offer during checkout of a television purchase). The trial was never activated and therefore never used.
Hilariously, the cancellation page displays "Activate your subscription" directly above the auto-renewal date and cancellation link. Although the offer states that the subscription does begin on the date of purchase (which also means days before receipt of the TV delivery) the fact that it was never activated only further increased the issue "out of sight, out mind". It is very poor quality of customer care on behalf of both Best Buy and Philo to start direct billing at the 30 day mark from the order date.
At a minimum, the trial start date should mirror that of the delivery date at the earliest.
Save yourself the issue of possibly forgetting to cancel something you may not enjoy or intend to keep and do not add to your cart until you plan to activate the service!

Another freebie from Best Buy. It's like any electronics item you buy you get free trials.

Easy to use and a great value for cord cutters

We are looking at various streaming services as we prepare to cut the proverbial cord. Philo is a nice package at a very reasonable cost. It provides many of what I would consider the traditional "basic cable" and some "mid-level" channels at a very reasonable price point. (Note that being as such, if you subscribe to cable or satellite, this package likely won't give you anything you don't already have. It's really geared toward cord cutters.) Kind of along those lines -- one thing I really like about this service is that in addition to showing you all the shows by category or interest like most other services (Prime Video etc...), it also shows everything in a traditional live TV guide/grid so you can browse what's airing currently just like you would with a cable or satellite service. That's handy for the type of TV viewer who likes to browse listings in order to just find something to put on in the background (as opposed to those who go out looking for something specific to watch, but you can do that, too...). Bottom line - a nice "bridge" streaming service for new or prospective cord cutters.

I like the channels and the price is decent. The guide could be cleaned up a bit to make it more user friendly. I did have to reach out to their support team and it was excellent. Fast to answer the call and a knowledgable rep fixed my issue faster than it took to write this review.

This is a nice low price tv streaming service with a fair amount of channels. I could not give it 5 stars though because it does not carry the local channels of cbs, nbc and abc. If it had those I would have subscribed.

If you want to get rid of cable and save money this is not bad choice. You can have multiple people streaming and no contract which is a plus. Bad thing about it there are no live sports channels and local channels but an inexpensive workaround is getting a digital antenna to be able to watch them.

the service is very good. you get everything but news and sports. its easy to use and get through without getting lost in the guide. for the price its the best. but i would not pay over 20 dollars. its a good streaming item and seems to load fast. but the setup to get it started on your first day is a little overdone. its a solid 8/10 on sale.

This service is a great alternative for homes that love entertainment but already have an antenna for their local channels. It’s reasonable and has an excellent DVR included. I do not recommend this for a home that is big on sports since there is no ESPN or Fox networks.

Though I thought that the UI was counter-intuitive, the channel guide channels' logo difficult to see, missing programs in a series, confusing navigation, the app does work and has 60+ channels. It has some that are included that might require a subscription if not using Philo.
It competes with Roku Channel and Pluto among others.

Excellent streaming service, but some channels are duplicated on freebie apps. All 3 Hallmark Stations are included. We've had it for about 6 months. Good fill-in but wish they would add FOX News, CNBC and local stations.

Great purchase for the price! I bought it during the promo and haven't canceled yet! It beats my old Cable bill! Would be nice if I had more channels to chose from!

Wish it had the news channels. Other than that it was worth the money. May not pay every month but is good for the holidays watching for the family when you don’t have cable los of Christmas things to watch.
