This is good if you have nostalgia or are curious about the first 2 Pikmin games.

The GameCube versions of these games were what got me into video games! The new Switch versions help bring these games to the modern age with a 1080p resolution, cleaner UIs, and many bug fixes while also incorporating motion controls (for fans of the Wii version), thus becoming the new definitive way to experience these games! Though I love both of these games dearly, I must confess that my personal favorite of the two is (by a small margin) Pikmin 1. The game, while short, offers endless replayability in search of continually beating your previous record. I’ve replayed this game many times over the years, and I’ve recently achieved beating the game in 9 in-game days! But even then, the lowest amount possible is 6 days, so even after all these years I still have more to improve upon! And although Pikmin 1 is my favorite of the two, Pikmin 2 is still a very worthy sequel to the first. It further expands upon 1’s systems with new additions like new Pikmin types, new tools for defeating enemies, and even a second playable Captain which allows for increased gameplay optimization. But, although it is a sequel, Pikmin 2 actually has some notable gameplay differences compared to the first. It chooses to forego the time limit of the first game and instead draws its difficulty from tougher bosses and more situational hazards — so if the time limit of 1 turned you away from that game, you may find 2 to be much more appealing with its unlimited number of in-game days to clear the game. Because of this removal of the time limit, it thus also focuses less on repeated replays to lower your clear time (although that element can still be found as more of a self-challenge); rather, Pikmin 2 focuses on a longer campaign with greater difficulty caps compared to the first for 100% completion. Because of these differences, you may find yourself connecting more with one game than the other. If you find that Pikmin 1 isn’t really your style, then you can play Pikmin 2 without worry as 2 can be played without playing or clearing 1 first. In all, these two games were some of the greatest classics the GameCube had to offer in its library, and I’m extremely pleased they’ve made their way to the Switch! I would highly recommend them to anyone!

It’s Pikmin 1 and 2. It is what it says and it does a wonderful job at being that. The games have that GameCube feel to them, but still are full experiences that have survived the passage of time exceptionally.

Amazing grqphics and gameplay. If you love pikmin then this is the best. So fun to play especially on the Switch, you can take it anywhere
