The reasons for not giving it 5 stars: When changing channels on my set top box, there's a long pause before the display shows on the TV. The front HDMI input is tricky to get a good display from a computer. Auto sound setup, MCACC, didn't work well for me (that could just be my room acoustics) Sound is great, just a lot of settings to get it there.

Having owned Pioneer products for almost forty year and always gotten reliable service from them made the vsx 1124 an eassy choice. Being a Sound&Vision editors choice made the choice even easier and on sale to boot!

I bought this unit when Pioneer was running a price special and it was worth every penny and more. I have it set up with two zones and it works absolutely wonderful. The ipad app is amazing for control and I have considered getting a second tablet for control in my second zone.

This unit was very easy to connect my satellite receiver, two game consoles and Internet connection to it. It has well setup and easy to change sound options. I have it paired with a Klipsch 5.1 speaker system.

I still haven't explored all the things this receiver can do, but I've had one issue with it so far - maybe I haven't figured it out yet... When you connect all the HDMI inputs to the receiver, (naturally) you can't have the TV display what's on while Listening to the radio, for example. So I just connected the satellite receiver directly to the TV so I could watch TV and listen to the radio at the same time. I wish I could figure out a way to do this without making the direct satellite-to-TV connection, but it works the way I want like this. Good sound quality with lots of "sound modes" to enhance the audio. Very weak PC app to control things - needs work. I got it on sale, so I'm pleased with the price/performance so far.

What a Deal! Love my new Pioneer Theater Receiver. What a different the new receiver makes in my media room. Recommend this product to anyone who is looking for the latest technology with room to grow.

I was in the market for a new receiver. My Yamaha was so old it had a separate Box to process AC3. This unit has everything the average listener needs at a very reasonable price point. If you do not have a wired network connection you will need to purchase a separate wireless adapter. If you have a wireless bridge that would work also. You should be comfortable using a computer to do setup, however you could do it all via the remote and on screen information. It has two zones that can operate speakers with independent inputs, and a nice touch is that it fully integrated with my LG LED TV so when I power the Tv on or off the unit also turns on and off.

this reciever is a great piece of equipment. It has a lot of the features which distinguished pioneer elite with out the price tag.

it was good, its a good receiver for a beginner, i'm more of an expert but this receiver is for someone ho just wants a good surround sound, not great but good.

This is one of the best products I have ever had from Pioneer. I couldn't ask for a better product for the price (it was on sale 349.99 regular 599.99).

Bought this as an open box. Great deal. Setup is very easy. Manual could be better. Hdmi awitching takes a couple of seconds but thats ok.

Great amp at reasonable price. This was on sale, but highly recommended by store representative. So I purchased it and am pleased with it.

I asked a sells person for some help in a good stereo for my house. I explained what I wanted and he took me over to the home audio section and there were some good brand named audio. I told him I wanted a simple am/fm receiver with lots of power and a cd player that I could hook up to my Cerwin-Vega! ground pounding speakers. I explained that I already had my big screen tv hooked up with surround sound and all I was looking for was a simple but powerful sterio. He said he knew what I had in mind but he asked a couple times just to be sure what I was looking for because he wanted to be sure I wasn't buying something I didn't want, I thought we were on the same page. I bought the Pioneer 1155w 7.2ch receiver on his recommendation. I also bought a Sony 5 cd disc changer. I got this thing home and hooked it up it was not what I was expecting at all! It is very complicated with all the different plugs, ports and ways to hook it up. All I wanted was a simple stereo with the power to bring my speakers to life. I know its a good piece of audio equiptment but it turned out to be more than I want or need. This hasn't and wont stop me from future purchases from Best Buy, I just know that next time I buy something that I'm unfamiliar with I will do my home work BEFOR another purchase. Other that that I've had good experences with Best Buy
