Good receiver will power most speakers at moderate level. Wish it had better speaker terminals

I had been a loyal Onkyo owner for 20 + years and then my latest one died. So over to Best Buy I went. After listening to different receivers in BB listening room, Decided to go with this model. I didn't have much of an issue in setting it up. I used the same wires along with the same set of Onkyo Speakers (7 including woofer). I can say after several months I am extremely disappointed in the "output" of the receiver to the speakers. Where I would have ample volume on the Onkyo (at a 30 Setting). Now I have to be 50+ Volume setting on the Pioneer. On movies I have to be at 60+ volume. I have tried every output setting and no difference. Using HDMI quality cables. If I could I would return and purchase another Onkyo.
