The Pioneer DDJ-FLX4 is hands down the best beginner DJ controller. If you're just starting out, this is the perfect choice. The price-to-feature ratio is unbeatable, and it's compatible with both Rekordbox and Serato DJ Lite. Since Pioneer is the industry standard in clubs and festivals, the layout mirrors high-end CDJs and XDJs—making the transition to pro gear seamless. It’s lightweight, easy to carry, and great for house parties or even small club gigs. The frequent software updates keep it fresh, and there’s a ton of online tutorials to help you learn. The only thing I don’t love is the clicky buttons, but that’s minor. If you're thinking about it—just get it. You won’t regret it!

For a starter, this is the controller to get. As a predecessor of the ddj 400, this incorporates many new features that are beginner friendly (beat sync, smart cross fade, etc). However, these features should not be abused as it can lead to bad habits. Compact so it’s easy to travel with, but that also means that the jog wheel is small. The controller feels of high quality but compared to the flx10 and club equipment it feels like a toy. If you want to be future proof, get the flx6 with the 4 channel mixer. If you are trying to se if you like it, get this! It’s a very solid beginner controller

I like that the bus power port has been updated to USB 2.0 Type C, and that bluetooth is also incorporated. I also own a Numark Mixtrack FX Platinum, and it is a bit larger with the weighted jogwheels. It is also nice, but not as flexible on software options, with Serato and VirtualDJ only. This controller can use at least 4-5 other options, and RekordBox has come a long way. FX paddles would have been a nice addition, but they have them on the Rev3 for more of a club/scratcher layout. Buy with confidence that this controller will be one to enjoy casually, or to grow your DJ skills on.

excellent quality and very portable. USB C makes it super convenient to use and can be battery powered. highly rec for beginners

The turntables feel amazing and are super accurate, has almost all the same functionality as a full sized Set only thing is I wish it had better connections in the back but im nitpicking the price is amazing for what you can get out of it.

For the price you pay, this DJ controller packs a ton of features that will keep you playing with it. Although it might look overwhelming for beginners, it still does a good job of simplifying the controller while gearing you with everything you need to become a professional DJ!

Seems to be pretty solid, rekordbox is a very nice software and the controller seems to have decent functions for the price. Despite being plastic, everything feels decent and the knobs have a notch in the center position, which is very nice

It's summertime, my 10 yr old daughter is on break, i didn't want her just sitting around watching yt all day long. So instead I watched a lot of reviews on yt on her behalf and chose the flx4 based on reviews for beginner djs. must say, i got hooked playing around with this, too! it's been a great father/daughter activity and i'm learning something new myself. as for the controller, has a lot of the functions you would expect from an entry level controller but enough to learn how to beat mix and have fun with effects. my daughter is still learning (so am i) but it's been really fun watching her skills grow. highly recommend. btw, girl djs rule!

The buttons are average but for the price you get everything you need to start out. Even some smart features! Great device!

This was a Christmas gift and it is very handy for a new DJ beginning. It comes with a program and it is very easy to learn and use.

Works well with Rekordbox and has all the stuff you need to start out DJing. Docking a star because I could not figure out how to turn this thing off for the life of me--it seems that you just have to unplug it. Also, setting up speakers requires a good amount of thinking and reading the manual to do properly.
