I cant get the unit's input to process HDR from any source. All 4KHDR devices report the unit not capable of the format but work fine when connected directly to the TV. Other Pioneer units have a setting to enable the feature but no such setting is found in the menu.

I tried everything to get this receiver to work but never did. I couldn't get 1080p from my Oppo player or any signal from my 4k Apple TV. I could everything to work fine when connected directly to the TV but not through the Pioneer. I called Pioneer and all I got was "that's strange, I'll have our senior tech support call you", they still haven't called. It's been over 3 weeks. Magnolia theater couldn't figure it out either so I returned it. I will be buying my next receiver from a company that knows what customer service is. Emotiva is fantastic, connected to my Oppo, 4k Apple TV and everything works just like it's supposed to.

So this receive is really good for the price but that’s about it. I’ve had problems with the HDMI input not working on the receiver and there has been a couple of time where I had to reset the entire system because sound would come out of only 1 speaker or it would just no longer connect to Bluetooth. My suggestion a decon. More price but better quality.

I got this as a OPEN BOX but when I turned it on it would go through an amp check and return a NG:R status. Blown amp. Took it back to the store and they had another one also as an open box. But this time I had them check it before taking it home. Same thing !! Blown amp. Best Buy will not repair it unless you purchase the Geek Squad warranty. Really ?? Shouldn’t they sell a working unit first ???

Its in the negatives and its still loud. Can't imagine when its in the positives!

Bought this in 1/2019. Didn’t even last 3 years. Won’t even turn on. Contacted pioneer home for warranty claim, and they just forwarded me to a “certified” service center. Told me I have to ship it there on my dime but they will to ship it back. I will NEVER buy anything from pioneer again. Big item like this not lasting 3 years??? That’s isn’t the quality I’m looking for when purchasing a $1000 product. I recommend looking at a different company for that quality.

Pops speakers and has a tendency to lose the ARC output. No!
