Outstanding Sound!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sonos S5 have made a believer out of me! Excellent sound, and extremely simple setup. Being able to stream iTunes, Pandora, or any radio station to any room in the house is amazing. And being a Apple fan boy as I am, the Sonos Controller software integrates with all my Apple products. I can control my Sonos from my iPhone, iPad, or Mac in the house! The Sonos S5 is such a compact unit, with a big rich sound. I have a S5 in every room in my house.. Simply a great product, that delivers on it's promises.

Excellent single speaker for full bodied stereo
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great speaker for a single room, providing good stereo sound. It is very easy to set up and the Sonos system as a whole provides fantastic whole house audio with this as a major component.. The only downside is it is a little pricey.

Sonos ZonePlayer S5
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you have a lot of music ripped to your home network, or if want to play internet on decent speakers, this is a good way to go. One ZonePlayer connects to your wired network. Additional ZonePlayers connect to the first, through their own wireless network. They do need access to a 110 volt power supply. Each speaker contains both left and right channel speakers. However, the unit is not that large, so stereo separation is only fair. The sound quality is good. Not as good as high quality bookshelf speakers. Sonos should program the ability to run one speaker as a left and another as right channel - with two of these in the same room, I'd be real happy. Sonos does have other units that will drive bookshelf speakers, so you can get better sound that way... Set up is realy easy - plug in the speaker, hook it up to your network. Load the included DVD on your windows computer, start up the software. Sonos will detect the speaker, and you'll need to press two buttons (Mute and volume) on the top of the speaker to identify the speaker - and name it. Select your music library(s) on your computer or network, and you're down. Even a techno idiot can do it. Trust me on this.

Best Music Experience Ever!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I live in a 1500 Square Foot home and nave this player in my living room. It will easily fill my house with music. I control it with my iPhone and between streaming Pandora, Napster, and iTunes, I am never without music to listen to. I can even listen to local radio stations. The sound that comes out of this device is amazing. I have it on a bookshelf in the corner of the room and it disappears. I love my Sonos and tell everyone that I know!

Quality product, well-worth the purchase.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I finally decided on the s5 after endless research. My aim was more in the Ipod Docking Stations, not in a wireless system. The Zeppelin Air and Geneva M were my choices above $500 and considered the Dre Beats because of it's beefy sound and powerful bass. Why is this product superior? It frees your device from the system. Picture lying in bed scrolling through endless free continuous internet radio stations and having complete control in your hand. Need an alarm? It has it integrated into the software. I woke up to one station early in the morning and my husband woke up to his own selection an hour later. Now, for the sound. It's crisp and warm sound. It truly fills the room. This speaker does best in a corner so be sure to place it in one. Someone reviewed on here that they wish they could use 2 S5s as a right and a left. You can do this and I definitely will be purchasing another to achieve surround sound. Also, compared to other mp3 devices, this one does have an adjustable eQ worked into the software. It's basic, but still something. I am happy I made this purchase and feel like I invested my money well into a build-able system and not into a gimmicky docking device with breakable components and an inflated price tag. I'm surprised that I was able to get this quality for $400. Also, if you buy this product right now they give you $50 off the ZoneBridge (which is $50 more dollars and acts as the router for the system.)

Again a splendid music solution from Sonos
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Although it is an expensive item, the S5 is a super extra zone for the SOnos system. Easy to carry to the next location. Splendid sound from this small good looking 'speaker-thing' as my wife calls it. Sonos users will not be surprised but for those who do not have it yet. The Sonos system is so easy to install, so easy to use and user friendly for anybody who visit you.... Without readidng the manual your friends can search your music data base and play, to their surprise, their own music :) But yes it is a lot of money

So Easy, So Great!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Just purchased my first S5 yesterday. All in it took less than 30 minutes from the time I took it out of the box, to set up my music library, and start playing. The iPhone App is great too. I can't wait to purchase another S5 for another room in the house! Highly recommend this product!

Fantastic!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great sound, easy to instal (if you are a little used to computers). I got a Play5, a Play3, a Zone Player ans a Bridge. Only the Zone brougt me a little dificult to work with my Home Theater, nothing too hard to solve. I am very, very satisfied. I just dont get to control the system beeing ou of the home-network. Maybe I have to read a little more. I got to control it from notebook, galaxy SII, iPhone, iPad. Again, FANTASTIC!!!!

This is Awesome
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I generally don't write reviews but this thing is so nice that I thought I would. We bring it out on the deck when it's nice out and just move it back in when we are done. Just plug it in and that's it. No need for expensive outdoor speakers. I plan on getting more soon for other rooms in the house.

A Great Solution
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought my Sonos S5 in mid December and have enjoyed using it since Day One. The S5 performance is great, it does what it is suppose to do. I am using it my home office in a wired environment. The setup was straight forward and took less than ten minutes. I used the PC based controller to do my setup. When I initially created my music library I noticed that some albums on my computer did not appear in the Music Library. When I researched this, I found that Sonos only works with the Windows Media Audio (WMA) format and not with WMA Plus or WMA Lossless. Since some of my CDs had been ripped in the Lossless format they had to be re-ripped. After I re-ripped the CDs and ran the “Update Music Index Now” all of my albums appear in the Sonos Music Library. My iTunes albums also appear in the Music Library and play in the format that was used when they were originally downloaded. The Internet Radio, Pandora and Last.fm functions all work well. The separation of the Local radio stations into a separate grouping makes it easy to find your local favorites. After the initial setup, I added an iTouch as a wireless controller. This interface works well and eliminates the need to interrupt your work on your computer. I am using an 8 GB model and have had no problems. The music reproduction of the Sonos S5 is great for my 12 x 16 office. I highly recommend the Sonos S5.

Best option out there
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great unit, sounds great. A bit pricey, but ultimately worth it. Biggest downfall is that they haven't offered support yet for different user accounts. i.e. only allowed to sign in to 1 Pandora (etc) account. So when I'm away the wife is wreaking havoc on my stations... Sonos, offer support for multiple users and you'll be untouchable.

Only an expensive component, not a system.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This unit requires a few things to make it work: 1 A full time music source which can be provided by a computer, a player connected through a 1/8" phono plug, a networked hard drive or the internet. 2 A ethernet connection to a controller either hard wired (a computer) or wireless (sonos controller), (Iphone if the unit is hard wired to a wireless network). 3. A ethernet connection to a router for full functionality. After you hardwire the first sonos Zone player or bridge to the router additional Zone players are fully wireless. The documentation provided in the box is minimal and in multiple languages. The onsite FAQ's are thorough but may be out of date. The instructions for connecting an Apple Time Capsule showed screen shots of older versions of the Airport setup utility making setup trial and error. Once everything was set up with the sonos connected to an airport extreme, wirelessly connected to a Time capsule which was connected via ethernet to my wireless router everything worked smoothly without a full time computer connection The unit sounds great, filling a room with sound. Clear strong base as well as sparkling treble ranges. Seamless interface with the iphone app. If you want to learn a lot about wireless networking and interfacing this is the toy for you!

cool
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Have had my house wired for some sound but had to use the tv to push the web radio feed. Was a problem last party since people wanted to watch the tv also. This system is way better than I though. I bought pretty much every piece they make for my setup. I do like the S5 a lot. The sound is better than using the zone player with my current speakers. I would suggest S5's with a zone bridge hands down. No issue with the system at all, use my iphone to control it. The S5 is very good a puting out sound so one was good for 2 rooms, but my house does not have a lot of walls. If I could make it work with my TV to replace my surround sound I would.

Very, very Good
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I recently bought a BU250 and a S5 for my home. The S5 is in the Kitchem over the cabinets and is great with wireless sound. The Z90 in in my office, conected to a sound system and the Z120 supplies music for my pool area. The 120 is not installed yet due to I did not decided what speaker to buy. I wish sonos made a all weather S5, so I would not need to buy speakers . . .
