Installed easily - works great! Router immediately recognized Sonos 3 and Sonos 5. 2 MacBooks, 2 iPhones, and 2 iPads control both units with ease. Great system.

I was looking for a wireless speaker system for use on my dock and by the pool/spa. This unit is ideal. It allows me to play music from my computer, home theater system, streaming music from Pandora. I can take this wireless speaker unit anywhere in my home or on outside and completely control my music from my android phone.

    Great speakers, software needs upgrade.

I purchased 8 SONOS speakers so far, all of them are great, quality didn't drop with time so far, nothing to envy to other brands. Works good for businesses too. Price is Fair I guess. Software is easy to use for most people, no delay, no bugs. Said that, it needs improvement, I have a set of speakers at home, and another set at the office, it doesn't let me work with both at the same time, I have to sync every-time I go to one of these places, It should create profiles (Home, Office, etc). The lack of profiles will not be an issue for most people, you might have them only at home, but my biggest complaint is that the App doesn't let you play YouTube Videos, you have to connect directly to the speaker with an Audio cable, but that only allows you to connect to 1 speaker at the time, that's not fun. It has other services like Pandora, Iheart radio, and more... but you have to have YouTube. Overall, I don't regret my decision.

I have tried 4 other not so great solutions for home audio both wired and wireless (Philips, logitech, Ipod docks) before finding Sonos and I cannot be happier. It is a breeze to install and has been working perfectly for the last 3 months I have been using. Our consumption of diverse music has increase a lot with the wide range of Internet radio options. The iOS apps work great! The only additional feature enhancement would be to add more Internet content options and maybe even online music lockers!

I've visited a lot of places that seem to offer SONOS, but I've found it to be referenced to as just wireless speakers. SONOS is anything but just wireless speakers, it allows for you to put music in any room of the house in a matter of 10 minutes or less. I was able to connect the Bridge and Play 5 to my network with three simple button presses. Not to mention, I was able to connect my iTunes, Spotify and SiriusXM simply by just logging into my account via the Spotify desktop app.

I love Sonos and everything it gives me. Digital music radio stations from all over the world - wowee! Napster playlists - love it. Access to my itunes library - easy! Honestly, the music is rocking in my house and I absolutely love it. Digital is the way to go and the speaker I bought for my bedroom is great. Go for it.

I purchased the Sonos system to replace a Bose SoundDock speaker that blew from playing too loud. The Sonos Play 5 has much better sound quality that can fill a large room with ease without any distortion. I have the Play 5 connected to a Bridge 100 and use my home's wifi and IPad to control my iTunes library, Pandora, and MOG music. The setup took less than 10 minutes and works flawlessly.

I purchased 3 ZonePlayer S5's for my house, which run music in my kitchen, bedroom and dinning room with a Zonebridge hooked up to my router to connect the three. I often will take one of the speakers down to my basement when I exercise, as it is as easy as unplugging the device and re-plugging it in downstairs. The range works well throughout the three levels of my 104 year old house. The Pandora feature is great, as I hardly listen to my own digital music anymore. The iphone app works perfectly, so I would almost reccomend buying an iPhone or iPod touch, as I beleive it is less than the somewhat clunky Sonos Remote. It is incredibly easy to set up the first time around with litterally three steps to set up, and transferring your digital music takes no time at all. In terms of cons, the Zoneplayer does not sync direclty to your iTunes, so it is difficult to access established playlists. Also, I have all my music on an external hard drive, so I often have difficulties accessing it when I first boot up my computer and try to use Sonos, as the system typically changes the location of my music back to my PC, requiring me to re-designate my external hard drive as the source of the files. As such, I mostly rely on the streaming radio and internet features of the speakers which are great. There is also a line in feature that allows you to plug an MP3 player directly into one of the speakers and transmit that music to the others, however I have found this to be the one situation where the sound can get choppy on the speakers not directly attached to MP3 player, so I typically don't stream this set up throughout the house. Also, the speaker quality is by no means amazing. It suits my needs just fine as I am more of a Music constantly on in the background kind of guy, but for the true sound enthusiasts it may be better to use your own speakers through the other Zoneplayer router. On the plus side, It is very easy to group speakers together with a push of a button or play separate music from different sources across all three. Overall I am a huge fan of this product and have already plotted where I want to put my next set of speakers once I have the budget to do so. It was a perfect solution for me, as all my audio equipment was out dated, so I basically had to start from scratch and did not want to wire my entire house to have music throughout. The streaming features have open me up to a whole world of new music and the internet radio capabilities have turned me back on to local, national, and global radio channels, which it turns out I missed.

I don't know why I have waited so long. Bought the S5 to get a feel for Sonos. It couldn't have been simpler to set up. Internet radio can now be accessed so simply on top of what we had before. Sound quality is excellent for a unit that size. Can't wait to add to it!

This unit fills the gap in the full blown Sonos system in our house. We went from two to six zones and play different music in all of them. The portable unit allows us to move two zones around the house. The sound is great ( but could use a touch more bass, as all units of this size) , the form factor is excellent. It is sexy !

New Sonos owner that is very happy with everything. Excellent sound with a great interface. The portable should be put no more than table height as it drops bass up high and booms if placed on the floor. What great sound out of such a small footprint. You guys are the best!! thank you, jhv

The Sonos Play 5 device I purchased was an additional component to my existing Sonos system. It just works. It assimilated it self into my existing Sonos framework without a hitch. Additional note about Sonos support if you ever need them. TOP NOTCH!!!!!

Great sound for all types of music particularly when paired with the Sonos subwoofer. Very easy wireless set up though the Sonos app and the streaming is flawless. Like it so much I bought a second system for my vacation home. Highly recommended.

I recently purchased the Sonos system and wow, it's an amazing system and I love the coupling of it and Spotify. The Play 5 speaker is in our living room and has no trouble filling up the space (it's 22' x 17').

    Beware of hidden costs

I love the Sonos system in concept and although I was extending my budget a little when I bought the ZonePlayer 90 to attach to my home stereo set up and an S5 for my back office, I was sure if the audio was good it would be worth the price tag to be able to control and play my iTunes and MOG from my android or laptop. And to start with the positives, the audio is good and the controller's UI on both the laptop and phone is very easy to navigate too. However. The first disappointment was to learn that if you want to play your iTunes, it's not just one Sonos device that has to be connected via ethernet to your router; wherever your music library is stored has to connected too. Which means if it's on your laptop like mine, you either have to resign yourself to having your laptop tethered and on whenever you're playing it on the Sonos, or you have to invest in a NAS if you want to regain your laptop's mobility. (Sonos tech support tells me some users are able to stream their library via WiFi but that it's an unsupported configuration -- ie. good luck if you want to try it. All I can tell you is that after fiddling with it for more than a week I can't get it to play more than 2 songs before the audio drops out, even though the same music files will play to my DLNA blu ray player flawlessly). So okay, maybe I can spend another ~$120-170 on a low end NAS like a 1 or 2 TB WD My Book Live. Next I find that my MOG basic subscription doesn't work with Sonos either and I've got to upgrade to primo ($10/mo instead of $5) even though MOG says that the added charge for primo is to have the service on your mobile device also, which I don't want MOG on my phone and which has nothing to do with Sonos. So I know an extra $5/mo doesn't seem like much but it does add up over time and other than MOG telling me that the upgrade is required by Sonos, no one can explain why I should be paying twice as much to get the same service through my Sonos that I already had. Finally, my S5 in my back office keeps dropping off the controller's zone options. Even though it's only about 60' away from the ZP 90 connected to the router, tech support tells me that because signal has to go through a couple exterior walls (it's a detached office in my back yard) that it's just not strong enough to consistently read that the S5 is there. Which makes it useless of course, but no problem they tell me: all I need to do is buy a ZoneBridge to set up between the 2 ZonePlayers to boost the signal. And I'm in luck because the price on those has just dropped to $50 (nevermind the clutter of yet another box in the house that to be plugged in and drawing power constantly). Bottom line, what started out as a $750-800 investment is over a year or 2 actually going to cost me well over $1000 to do what I thought it could do right out of the box. And considering I could already play my iTunes and my MOG in both my office/back yard (off my laptop and desktop speakers) and on my stereo via my blu ray player (not to mention having Pandora and a lot of the satellite radio stations that Sonos offers via VTuner on my player too), what is it I'm actually getting? Just the wireless remote control via my phone or laptop, a better UI than I have on the player, and the ability to sync both zones if I'm having a party. Is that really worth a grand? Not to me it isn't. I'll be returning the Sonos while I'm still in my 30 day window. I'm not saying it's a bad system. I'm just saying as you read all the enthusiastic reviews, think about your home setup and how you intend to use it and you might find it's not worth the total cost after all.
