My Sonos 5 sounds fantastic! Comparable to Bose but less expensive and I love the wireless control. Access to internet radio, Pandora, etc. gives many music options that I was not using. I will definitely buy another Play 3 or 5 for upstairs. Initial installation and set up were cumbersome - typical "old fashioned" Microsoft install process. They should update it to be easier plug & play process. Also, when laptop is in sleep mode, can't access itunes library.

Bought a new house, the upper level was complete, so searched for a wirless sound system, very happy with the sound.

Within 10 minuets I had it up and playing music in 4 rooms. Excellent sound, better than bose waves.

The S5 has great high fidelity, decent bass response and plays loudly if asked, but the caveat is soundstage and stereo separation. Its almost impossible to put right and left channels in a box 14" wide and expect a good stereo effect or any sort of soundstage. It's a compromise. It is however very well made and If your goal is just some background music, or your not too fussy about the aforementioned, than this will fill the bill. I think it's great to take out on the patio of bring into the garage. I would be hesitant to put it in a large bedroom or family room and expect it to perform as well as two separate speakers located 8'-10' apart. And at $400.00, there are many alternatives as well.... We had an existing 2 zone Sonos system and I wanted to put in two more rooms but didn't want big external speakers, etc. These worked beautifully. Sonos system saw the two new devices, added without issue (both of these using wirelessly) and everything just worked. The sound is very good with decent bass and full mid/high range sounds. Perfect for the small bedroom and Gym room I put them in.

We love the SONOS system! We wanted music throughout our house without having to run wire. We set up one unit with our home entertainment system; another in the living room area and one in our bedroom. Now we have music throughout the house and it is top quality sound. Also love that we can have different music in each "zone" or combine zones so 2 or more have the same music. LOVE it.

This was a simple solution to having an option to playing my music on th outdoor patio while entertaining.

You can not access your I Tune Library if you have Lion running on your Mac. Would have been nice to know prior to purchases before spending $450 dollars, box states works with Mac OS 10.4 or higher. You can access internet streaming. They are still working on resolving the issue.
