Customers are saying
Customers express satisfaction with the PlayStation 4's impressive graphics, enjoyable controller, and ease of use. Many also praise its performance and find it to be a good value for the price. However, some customers point out the lack of backwards compatibility with previous PlayStation consoles and disappointingly short battery life of the controller. The absence of a bundled camera was also noted as a drawback by some users.

PS4 Rocks!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.PS4 is a fantastic new system. Biggest issue is that you can't play your PS3 games. But, the graphics are fantastic. The system is fast. The new controllers is excellent. Lots of great games. Definitely a great system.

great system
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.great new design and features. changes in controller are also a plus to this system. Only drawbacks are the compatibility with ps3 wireless headset and conversion to previous PS system games, as the initial PS3 did.

The console centered around the gamer
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Although i consider my Xbox One my primary console for gaming. I absolutely love and think the Playstation 4 is the better "gaming" system. The one is fantastic and the better of the two for Digital Media, but with Multi-platform games coming out with higher resolutions on the ps4 over the Xbox One, it makes me wish that my friends would convert to PS4 for multi-player. Sony recently partnered with Spotify to bring you music streaming which also works IN GAME!!!! This was an amazing feature of that the Xbox 360 also had, but Microsoft dropped the ball with the One. this is a huge bonus to me as a gamer and for PS4

Awesome Deal
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased this for my son and he LOVED it! Great deal too included a game and extra controller. Best Buy always has great deals; that's why I always go there first. Have tried other retailers but you don't get the same service you do with Best Buy.

great buy
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am a die hard PS fan and I can say I am very happy with the new console. Graphics are amazing and they didn't change the controller. The only thing I didn't like was the fact that ps3 games are not compatible.

The beginning of something good..
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First off the console runs quickly. Its main draw back is its lack of backwards compatibility. So expect to get new games, controllers etc. But the new controller is pretty sweet, with a new swipe pad for additional functions in the middle of the controller. (Not all games are designed for its swipe pad use yet though) The console is 1080p and 4k compatible with a blu ray player built in and 3D playback on the way. It comes with an hdmi cable, but only one cord to charge your controllers so I highly recommend the charge and play kit sony offers to keep the rechargeable batteries in the console up and running all the time. All in all I am glad I bought it, but expect to get lots off games, and accessories to get started.

You already know if you want it
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been a fan of the PlayStation brand since day 1. So, I may be a little biased. They've never strayed too far from what the main focus should be. A game console. That's exactly what you get here. Game selection is a little sparse right now (still within the first year of launch). It's to be expected. They're on their way, though. I don't regret this purchase one bit. The console is fast and very responsive when going from the game to the home screen, and then back in. I've shared a couple videos of game capture and the editing software is very user friendly. The controller feels nice and sturdy. A nice weight to it while not being too large and cumbersome. The touch pad takes a little getting used to, but that's because we've never had one there before. It also has a left and right side "button" under the touch pad. Much like a Macbook Pro touch pad. The buttons are a bit more "clicky" sounding than previous iterations of the Dualshock, but they're still as responsive as ever. As I said in the header, you already know if you're going to get one. You may just need a little push. *Push*

Masterpiece
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Sony Playstation 4 is the ultimate gaming machine. It has amazing graphics, an easy to use interface, and a very reasonable price. I would recommend a PS4 to anyone. Buy it and you will not regret it.

Second time around
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I admit it. I have Wii U, XB1, and this is my second time for PS4. To be honest there are few differences in my opinion between XB1 and PS4. Both offer superb graphics and solid (free or paid subscriber) online experience. Of course the abundance of identical apps (Netflix, Hulu, Vudu, Amazon Instant Video, etc) are also another reason that either console does not have a distinct advantage above console exclusive games. Camera is optional for PS4 and XB1 is available with/without Kinect. I originally returned PS4 less than a month after launch (bought first at Sam's Club) because to me it is nothing but a slightly prettier PS3. It still feels that way, to be honest, but like XB1 it's still early and there is lots of promising stuff on the horizon. The big PS3/PS4 difference is Sony's redesigned controller. It's much, much, improved over any previous version and now has a whiz bang mood light and a microphone/speaker. Nintendo has been doing the microphone/speaker thing since early DS days haha. None of your peripherals will work natively with your shiny new PS4. Same for XB1. Either console is great so there is not a wrong answer, so to speak. Just go with what you like.

PS4 Review
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been a longtime PS owner and user and this is by far the best product they have released. The set up is easy and you are ready to play in no time at all. The graphics on the games are amazing. I have only had the PS4 about a month and have barely been able to unlock all the possibilities with this device/

great console
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I don't even know where to begin with my review. I guess I could say that I love the Playstation 4 or that it works perfectly and I've had no issues (apart from the Playstation Network being down a bit as it was getting hammered by all the new PS4 owners). I guess I'll just do a list or Pros and Cons: PROS: -The system itself looks awesome. Very architectural. It was actually the first thing my girlfriend commented on and said she loved the way it looked. -The User Interface is basically an upgraded XMB. If you liked the XMB, you'll like this interface. It is also incredibly snappy and responsive. -Getting in to and out of the Playstation Store is seamless. Not like on PS3 where it takes 30 sec to a minute to load. It loads instantly .and is integrated in to the UI. -Resogun is awesome in all its old school shoot-em-up glory. -Killzone: Shadowfall is beautiful but I haven't had too much play time with it yet. -Knack is surprisingly fun, despite what all the reviews say. It looks like a Pixar movie at points. Drop in co-op is a blast. It's so much fun with me as regular Knack and my girlfriend as Robot Knack. She is actually better at beating up baddies than I am. -Updated trophy support. Rarity of trophies is a fun little data point to look at. -Playstation APP/offscreen capabilities are nice. Typing using a touch screen is so much nicer than using a gamepad. -DualShock 4 (the controller) is nice to hold. Trigger shoulder buttons are a marked improvement over the DS3 R2/L2 buttons. -My favorite feature: VITA REMOTE PLAY! Works like a dream. Almost no perceptible lag. I was playing Resogun on it (a game that requires little to no lag or you'll die) and it ran so smoothly. CONS: -UI is barebones. That's actually fine with me but many people these days demand a more robust UI. -Unable to delete unused Apps in the movie/tv section. If there is I haven't figured out a way to do it. Granted, I haven't tried that hard since I've been having too much fun playing games. SUMMARY: It's a great gaming system with some great games and a promising future. The interface is bare bones (which I like) and incredibly responsive but may not satisfy people who love a more robust UI. The remote play of the vita and second screen capabilities via Playstation App are nice additions that will get a lot of use out of people that own a Vita/Playstation App compatible phone. It is a device made to play games and does so wonderfully.

Playstation 4 is Amazing
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This latest PS4 is easy to hook up and getting started a breeze. Once you set up your account the web and all things Sony are at your fingertips. It updates once you into the internet. Takes only moments to get it to where you like. I also understand it will soon be compatible with older games. I am not sure who would want to, however, if they do, it will be possible. Not now however, so be ready to wait. First game, was Tomb Raider. Have been a fan since the beginning. Controller is wireless and fits the hand for all movements needed. Even has voice commands for example. Looking forward to new games just like the old days. Limited now, but good games are on the way. Enjoy the new stuff!

Great console, best PlayStation so far!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The PS4 is a better sleeker console that is actually pretty quiet and designed for the 21st century. The system itself looks awesome. Very architectural. It was actually the first thing my girlfriend commented on and said she loved the way it looked. The User Interface is basically an upgraded XMB. If you liked the XMB, you'll like this interface. It is also incredibly snappy and responsive. Getting in to and out of the Playstation Store is seamless. PS4 = Fail
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This console is an incredibly half-baked failure. For example: 0) Can't play PS3 games (not even with a "Remote Desktop" type feature) 1) Can't play Blu-ray 3D 2) Can't play CD 3) Can't play MP3 4) No DLNA support 5) Extremely limited voice-activation, which is a colossal joke 6) Interface does not support themes 7) DualShock 4 controller eats battery life like mad 8) DualShock 4 has annoying light in the front that can't be turned off, only dimmed (and why turn it on at all if you don't have the camera accessory?!) 9) Camera accessory is stupendously bad and has minimal to no game support 10) Dearth of available PS4 games 11) Sony spends more effort on features such as PlayRoom than on basic functionality that was provided by the PS3

Arrived too early?
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Just like when I bought Blu-Ray years ago, seeing the product work in Best Buy and being impressed with what I saw got me to buy the PS4 to upgrade from my very old Wii system. I asked what game software was available and only saw a very limited number of offerings...but I figured since this was a hot selling unit, I'd go on-line after I got it home and see what was really out there. Well, to be honest there is really isn't a lot out there. Of the few limited titles that are available, they all seem to be of the same genre, either EA Sports or a shoot 'em up role player type. I figured with high quality graphics and sound I would be able to enjoy driving or flight simulators unmatched by previous technology....not yet....hopefully someday? At this point a I feel kind of like I would if I bought a Ferrari, but was locked into a community where all the roads have a 35 mph speed limit. Based solely on the high quality of the unit (though it does run a little warm) and my belief Sony will make good on the release of software hopefully very soon, I'm still gonna recommend it as for what is available, it looks great.

Excellent Livingroom Value
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have owned nearly every console ever but this cycle I have only picked up a PS4 so far. I have absolutely loved it. The system is smaller, quiet as a whisper and has many great new features. I love the free games I have received with my PS Plus membership. Initially I never saw myself taking advantage of the automatic game recording features or the live stream broadcasting, but now I have to admit to using both. I can't explain why it is so fun to post a humiliating video of a helicopter crash on facebook for my friends to laugh at. The newly designed controller is familiar and tight but still has added features. I like the large touch pad and see potential for it. This being Sony it may also go the way of the Six-Axis and Move. Still it is nice when games use it to map gestures so you can have more "D-Pad' functionality. I like that I have a speaker in the controller as well as micro-USB charging port and headset jack (Included in box, yay!) The battery life on the controller could be better but I leave it plugged in to a wall outlet for extended play sessions without any trouble. The OS software is a huge improvement over the PS3 but there is a LONG ways to go. the store is still ugly as sin and light years behind the Xbox 360 store. They patch it regularly and I have no fear it will get better over time. Being able to bounce in and out of a game to another app and party chat is especially enjoyable since it is so buttery smooth and seamless. No camera included in my box. After paying for Move on PS3 and never using it I can't say I am very disappointed. Apparently there are voice commands baked into the OS. My Android phone has broken me of the fantasy of talking to my computers so I have never experienced them on the PS4 either. Best of luck to you if you want to invite Sky-Net to have a dialogue with you in your briefs. If you are an avid gamer and love online gaming this system will not disappoint. Drop $35 on PS Plus already and join the fun. It's all sunshine over here. Waiting for: Uncharted 4 Destiny Halo 5 (A guy can wish) Battlefield: Operation "Shut up and Take my Money!" Elder Scrolls: Online Alien: Isolation The Last of Us 2 (I don't care if it WAS a stand alone experience!) Mercenaries 3 (Unannounced) Firefly (still dreaming) an HBO Go app (I think we see where this is going...)
