Customers are saying
Customers express satisfaction with the PlayStation 4's impressive graphics, enjoyable controller, and ease of use. Many also praise its performance and find it to be a good value for the price. However, some customers point out the lack of backwards compatibility with previous PlayStation consoles and disappointingly short battery life of the controller. The absence of a bundled camera was also noted as a drawback by some users.

Good successor to PS3
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I heard of initial problems from some new systems but so far it's been flawless. Battery life on controller is a fraction of what the previous dual shock was. No remote control compatibility. Hdmi cable could have been longer. The earbud that comes with the system is very cheap but it is forgivable with the system only priced at $399.99. Early adopters may find themselves wanting for games. "No power brick!" And this system is small, about half the size of the original PS3 Happy so far.

best console of the 2!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had all 3 playstation consoles and have always enjoyed the constant upgrades to the systems and controllers. Playstation 4 does not disappoint! Not only is the controller so well shaped to fit in all types of hands but the system itself has a low profile so you can place it under the T.V., its also quite even when hot and the fan is running at full blast it barley makes a hum. Of course the graphics improved substantially which is to say they are not PC like yet but its still very impressive. The only bone i have to pick is the remote play is still not working properly but im sure there will be an update soon to fix the disconnection that occurs during play outside of your home network. overall owning the Xbox One Day one edition and the PS4 i find myself enjoying the PS4 more over the 2.

The future of gaming.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The lack of extra USB ports , PS3 backwards compatibility, and the motorized disc loader is not so good, but compared to everything else that's out PS4 is the real deal and the real winner. Bottom line PS4 is awesome and worth the money and I look towards the forward future of this great product.

Phenomenal
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I literally bought a ps3 a few months back so i could get my hands on some of the exclusive titles, but i couldn't resist being a part of buying into the new generation of playstation. I've owned every one! I have not been let down. HUGE improvements to the UI of the console, much snappier and fluid user experience. Games look gorgeous as well! All i can say is great job SONY, and thank you for listening to the gamers.

Greatness is here!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall, this system is great! The graphics for the games are phenomenal (1080p baby!) and gameplay is flawless. The system's interface is very easy to use and comes with no problems. The machine is so slick that it fits into many different places. Overall, a great experience and Sony delivers!!

Great system
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great system graphics look great controller feels nice just battery doesn't last to well in controller and not many games for launch line up don't like the gloss finish on left side as it attracts dust no blue tooth head set support so you have to use supplied wired headset which is a bummer

Great system for the next gen!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was not sure if I wanted to keep the system when I first pre-ordered it on BB.com back in June. But after seeing the graphics and the game line up coming out, I decided to keep it and I'm glad I did. The gaming is amazing and I cannot wait to see some familiar franchises show up down the line. I did have some issues downloading the update right out of the box launch day as my internet was snail crawling slow but once that was done, everything was great! The UI is similar to the PS3 but took some time to familiarize myself with it. I've also got to mention that I love the design of the console itself. Simple, elegant, and much lighter than the fat PS3 which really surprised me. The controller is also much more ergonomic than it's predecessor from the feel of it. They kept games the same price as before which is also a plus for me. Overall, I would recommend this to anybody who loves games. The clarity of the graphics, the beautiful looking console, and the more ergonomic control...this is PS4.

The Perfect Start To A New Generation
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First Off this system is great, it runs fast, smoothly and plays great looking games. It has a growing library with many games in the future. With that being said it is currently lacking features and apps like You tube, HBO go, the game streaming service PSnow, and small options giving on the ps3 not allowed on the ps4 like changing your background or playing mp3 music. Although these are negatives it is to be expected since its not even a year old. Sony has been updating th system frequently adding more and more features and all these I mention will surly be added some time in the future. That is why I will not dock it any stars. It is a great system and will only continue to get better as time passes with more features and games just like the PS3 did.

Worth it!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We've owned this for over a year now and it is amazing. The quality is superb and it's so nice to be able to watch Blu-Ray through the PS4 too. This was definitely worth waiting in a long line for to purchase. My boyfriend recently played the Xbox 1 and is really happy that I purchased the PS4 instead. He felt the PS4 is a gaming console that also does media, but felt Xbox 1 is a media consoling that can do gaming.

Great new system that justifies the PS3
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had this system on reserve for about 5 months and was worth the wait. The brand new Dualshock 4 controller is a major upgrade from the previous Dualshock 3 and works great with First person shooters. The system its self is even better with the new interface, which is beautiful. Overall a great console that was well worth it.

Easy to use and start up. Quiet ps4
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The ps4 is what we have been waiting for it is a huge upgrade from the ps3. It runs very smooth and is smaller than the ps3. It makes virtually no noise when running. I have left the ps4 on for hours without any problems at all. Just make sure there is room to allow heat to escape.

The next Gen
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I would highly recommend a ps4 to anyone that is on the fence to buy one or is comparing to an xbox one. When it comes down to it the graphics are stunning. You do not relize how bad your previous system is till you see it in person. For example NBA 2k14 on previous gen consolues compared to now from the court, to the players faces. Also a big improvement to me is the game interface. It takes some getting used to but once you have figured it out, it keeps it much more organized and has so many more options. Also buy a second controler. These controlers do charge fast i would say in under 3 hours they have a full charge. However, they do have less of a life so it is nice to have something to play with so you do not have to be teathered while you are charging. The best part about the PS4 is they just built on top of the PS3. They kept everything you liked and added the stuff you wanted from party chat, to free downloads to paying plus members.

Love this system
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The new playstation 4 from Sony is a great system. From the ease of setting it up, to the great new interfaces, to the great graphics, this system is wonderful. A few minor bugs that still need to be worked out but I have no doubt that these will be completely fixed by Christmas.

Great Gaming Console
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great product made by Sony, which focuses on creating a phenomenal gaming experience, and has better specs than similar products in the market. One of the main selling points of this console is that it doesn't have a kinect "like" device and is $100 less than the Xbox One. The graphics are amazing and games are actually in 1080p (not upscale from 720p like the Xbox One). Also, the games on this console (just like the Xbox one) take up a ton of hard drive space. However, this console has the ability for the user to upgrade the hard drive internally to a larger capacity, unlike the Xbox one. The interface is also clutter free and has no ads! Plus, the interface is very responsive and the online servers are great. The only issue I had with my purchase was I received a defective controller, which was replaced by my local Best Buy store. And by the way, this is coming from an Xbox 360 fan who has been a member of Xbox live for almost a decade.

Great System
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love the sleek new look of the PS4. its the same height as the ps3 but a little thinner which is great. This is a 'Game Focused' console that only need the standard ports (AC power, HDMI) to be functional. I do recommend plugging an ethernet cord directly to the modem for the most optimum online performance. I like the Standby mode that allows you to download games and demos and charge your controller, but because it doesnt have an auto-off feature for after something downloads, like the xbox 360 does, someone could forget that its in standby and cause a slight increase in their, electric bill. Thats just something you have to look after. The visuals and graphics and all that stuff all ties in to what kind of TV you have. the PS4 has the capabilities to input high quality (1080p 60hz) into the TV, like with the Blu-Ray, but the TV has to be able to handle that demand and output that quality onto the screen.

Quality Console
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Since i was young I loved gaming, not to the extent of others I know, but still to a great degree. This being said,i have had the privilege to own many of the consoles that have graced us with their epic variety of entertainment. Recently,i have purchased the new and improved PS4. The consoles exterior is astonishing, surpassing all expectations. The controller is intuitive and responsive, making vast improvements from Sony's previous controller design. The interface was also improved and has gain a nice flow. The speed in which you switch between apps is lightning fast and has very few errors. Overall this console is a highly efficient gaming console. It is not bogged down with unneeded and useless application and is made for peak efficiency. The graphics are awe inspiring and surpas expectations. Coming from a college student who is a little more aware than most in their generation i find this console worth every penny.

Greatness Awaits (so far).
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The PS4 has a very sleek design to it and will look nice on any entertainment center it sits upon. The new Dual Shock has extended handles, improved shoulder trigger buttons and rests in the hands of almost anyone (even my six year old loves it playing Marvel Legos). The system itself takes a what seems to be a longer start time than previous generations, but once you are in there is almost no load times to get into the game you would like play. I would recommend subscribing to ps plus if you want game online (I believe it is required) just for the all the freebies Sony offers (games every month, it will pay for itself). And if you are not sure the PS4 comes with a free month of the service. As for the downside for some reason I need to reselect the HDMI input on my television to get the video portion (I am not sure if it is because of my receiver, tv, or the ps4). Other than that the system has been working all weekend just fine (knock on wood, no blod). The good news is that if you go to the Playstation Store you can purchase an extended warranty for $50 or $60(accidental) for an additional two years. This is much cheaper than any of the retail stores offer and I would recommend it on any new gaming system.

Loving it so far
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Picked up the PS4 on launch day, hooked up and set it all up from my PS account from my PS3. I like the new interface, similiar enough that you can navigate around without issues, but new enough to be fresh. I think the graphics and performance are good for the technology that is in the unit. The one thing I would like to see is the HD be bigger, I have a few games and some one larger download and the HD is already just about half full.

Plug and play. The UI is simple and user friendly
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The UI is simple and user-friendly. You can really tell they upgraded the hardware from the PS3 to this unit. Loading times are really fast and the graphics look awesome. It tends to run a little on the warm side but if you keep it well ventilated you should be fine.

Great Gaming Hardware
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The PlayStation 4 is a fast machine that displays crystal clear graphics. It is a great choice for the individual that wants a machine strictly for gaming. Their is not a whole lot to do on the system other than play games and watch movies. Sony plans of releasing apps like Gaikai and more to use down the road, but for now the menus are limited. However that could be a blessing. I have an Xbox one and the UI of the PlayStation 4 is way easier to navigate. The PlayStation 4 comes with 500 GBs of storage. This may seem like a lot, but games have to be mandatorily installed which could take 20 GB - 45 GB of storage per game! Also PlayStation plus gives free games per month. When I booted up the PlayStation 4 the first time my "500 GB" was actually 402 GB. Almost 100 GB is for reserved storage on future updates. After installing 2 games and downloading all the free-2-play and free PS+ titles I was sitting at 270 GBs. So Storage is eaten up fast. The HDD is easy to upgrade but it can be expensive. Last the controller is such an improvement over the Dual shock 3 controller. I did not like the Dual shock 3 at all. I found games like Kill zone 3 and Call of Duty hard to play. The new Dual shock 4 has a wider spread between the joysticks and rubber grips to keep you thumbs from slipping in the middle of an online match. Also The L2 and R2 triggers stick out and are easier to catch. The only down side is that the light that is used with the PlayStation 4 camera can not be turned off. Overall great Gaming system for the hardcore gamer. Not a perfect system, but still an incredible system for your entertainment.
