Customers are saying
Customers express satisfaction with the PlayStation 4's impressive graphics, enjoyable controller, and ease of use. Many also praise its performance and find it to be a good value for the price. However, some customers point out the lack of backwards compatibility with previous PlayStation consoles and disappointingly short battery life of the controller. The absence of a bundled camera was also noted as a drawback by some users.

Get the PS4 if you loved the PS3
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Just to give you a little background on myself... I own a Wii, a PS3, and an XBox 360. My son also owns a Wii U. Out of all those systems, the PS3 is by far my favorite system. I primarily use it to watch movies on Vudu and play Call of Duty multiplayer. I don't despise the XBox, but I never fell in love with it and only own it to play the campaign for Halo games. So my love for the PS3, not having to pay to use Vudu, and Microsoft's bad initial policies made the PS4 the clear choice for me. Overall I am very happy with my choice so far. My only significant complaint with the PS4 is that Battlefield 4 keeps crashing and I am unable to complete the campaign at this time. I don't know if this is a Sony issue or an EA issue, but I'm sure it'll be fixed shortly. This is why I am only giving the system 4 stars. Also, I am not thrilled with the "buttons" on the console or the fact that the disc slot is not clearly identified, but these are minor issues. One of my favorite things about the PS4 is the controller. It is so much more comfortable than the Dualshock 3. Also, the improved graphics are amazing in Call of Duty Ghosts. If you loved the PS3, than I would definitely recommend getting the PS4.

It meets all the expectations of what I wanted
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Everything I wanted in the ps3 times 100 in the ps4. Streamlined interface, and the controller is the best sony controller I've ever held I never want to go back to the previous one. The system runs quiet and when in an open area doesn't overheat. Great product.

Fantastic Gaming Machine
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far (cross fingers) I haven't had any issues with my new unit. It was super easy to set up and has been up and running problem free since the midnight launch. I don't know how many people actually received DOA consoles, but I'm hoping the problem isn't as widespread as some are reporting. Even if this console bricks, I'll be getting a replacement. The launch lineup left a little to be desired, but playing AC4 in 1080p is well worth the entrance fee!

worth the wait
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I pre-ordered my PS4 back in June so I got it on launch day. What is there to say about it, it is an amazing next gen console that does everything right. I was a PS1 and PS2 gamer, then switched over to Xbox 1 and Xbox 360 with no regrets; but I am one of the many that were really upset with Microsoft's DRM and cloud policy, and I really don't care about their retraction...you just don't treat people that way. But I am not here to slam Microsoft. I got the system with Killzone and Knack. Don't believe any of the bad reviews, Knack might be the most fun I've had gaming in decades. It's goofy, easy, and beautiful...and so much fun. I love all the free stuff you get with Playstation Plus too (which I never got with Xbox live btw). And don;t believe a single one of the 1 start reviews that say the PS4 is junk, they are just Microsoft fanboys that are angry.

Powerful, priced right, no DRM, no region locking
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. No DRM like the Xbox One, no region locking, no anti-consumer policies. Games look fantastic, visually, and there are a lot of cool indie games coming to the system. The system is more powerful than the Xbox One, has many of the same games (and Sony exclusives to boot), no DRM, costs $100 less, and doesn't force you to pay an extra fee to use Netflix, Hulu, etc. The choice between an Xbox One and PS4 seems mighty clear to me.

Loving it every minute
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was one of the lucky ones to be there at the midnight launch to pick up my PS4. I loved and really appreciated how Best Buy was organized and making this experience so enjoyable. There were about 50 people ahead of me waiting in line, at midnight, they started handing over the consoles, by 12:07 am, I was already in my car. Now let's start with the PS4 review: Downloading the 1.50 patch worked like a charm, although accessing my online account took about an hour, but no biggy, lots of people were signing in at the same time, so I took the time to explore the system, the settings and other new features. Then finally I signed in and I was up to 5 am playing. The UI is very simple, nicely done & organized. The system is extremely fast, you will notice a huge difference when it comes to game loading. What is also great is that you don't have to exit a game or running an app if you want to change any settings on your console. The system has lots of potential, Sony did their best by launching the console earlier to please the eager gamers, knowing that it lacks some features that they are and will be working on in the near future. The controller is awesome, enjoyed playing COD Ghosts, and it wasn't hard at all to use the R2 as the trigger button, it just felt natural. The graphics are very good but not great, although I can't give my 100% review on graphics yet since I've only played Ghosts. I will be playing Killzone that is strictly made for PS4. When it comes to apps, they have the essential ones I need, Netflix and Huluplus. Still waiting for the IGN app and hopefully HBOGO. Finally hopefully the patch for my PS3 Wireless Stereo Headset will get released soon. Good job Sony!

The best console of the generation
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Definitely the best console this generation. Sony has improved on everything about the PS3. The Dualshock 4 is a much improved version of the DS3. The sharing feature is done with a simple press of the Share button. Upload your gameplay to YouTube or stream to Twitch. The console exclusives (Uncharted 4, Bloodborne) that are coming are even more of a reason to get your PS4 now!

Amazing! PS4 > XBOX Zero
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So excited to get this beast of a gaming console. Sony listened to what gamers wanted and listened to game developers. Xbox is trying to sell you a gaming console to watch tv. I'm buying PS4 so I can enjoy both games and tv stuff. But mainly gaming. So I'm going with the company has a better preforming GAMING console, and that is the PS4. It's preorders are selling out fast so order yours. Don't get stuck with a lame box that looks like VHS player.

An Excellent Demonstration of the Power of Gaming
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I preordered the PS4 and picked it up at midnight. From what I have experienced thus far, the system is great and was worth the wait. The selection of games is a little small, but that is to be expected with the new release. However, the games currently available are fun and are worthy displays of the capability of the console. The new Dualshock 4 controllers are an extreme improvement from the Dualshock 3. The interface is a little confusing coming from a frequent PS3 user, but it functions much more fluidly than the consoles of yore. Playstation Plus is an incredible deal with the amount of free games, free downloadable content, and discounts provided; immediately out of the gate, there are two free games available and many more to come I imagine. Overall, the console is well worth the money for the options in not only gaming, but general entertainment as well.

Fantastic Product!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this product! The graphics are amazing! I have not owned a game system since the Nintendo 64, so this is quite a different product and I am not console savvy either. So for me to say this product is easy to use and easy to set-up is saying a lot. I find this console to be amazing, the graphics are so incredible and clear. I bought The Last of Us Remastered and Tomb Raider The Definitive and both of them look so fantastic, I just love playing them. The only thing I don't like is that their is not a lot of 2 player or multi-player games available yet, but they are coming out soon, just not soon enough. My fiance is a computer game guy but even HE LOVES IT!!!!!! For once I found something we can do together, and that is one of the things I love the most, now if we can get a multiplayer game that I can beat him, the console will be perfect :)

The Next Generation finally begins!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The PS4 is the next console to be released by SONY. The exclusive retail launch line up might only consist of Killzone: Shadowfall and Knack, but we shouldn't judge a console based solely on its launch line up. inFamous: Second Son comes out in February, Driveclub comes out around that time as well. New games are going to be announced on the 14th part of a launch event. Till more exclusives are released there is a huge line up of 3rd party games, and even more digital games than any other Next - Gen console. This console is truly Next - Gen, the features offered are amazing such as the inclusion of a share button, live streaming to Twitch or Ustream, playing games as they download, and the UI itself looks phenomenal. The features missing at launch such as the support for DLNA and MP3 will be added shortly after launch. This is truly the start of the Next -Gen, and this is The Next - Gen console to get.

The system is amazing!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The system is great and I love the look of the new user interface. The controller feels very comfortable in the hand and I am loving the feel of the new concave analog controls. The system remains pretty cool during gaming sessions as well as streaming and watching movies. The cross game chat works and is amazing to use when gaming or just watching Netflix if a user wanted to do so. The system is very quick when downloading updates and during the installation process as well. I had one minor issue after the 1.51 update, there was no video input to my T.V. I had to put the PS4 into Safe Mode in order to fix the problem. The system is operating normally now, I have video and have not had any more issues currently. The system was working perfectly before the update, but as previously stated the only issue was after the update, but works flawlessly now.

Great New System!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this for my be when it first came out. I was a little skeptical buying it so soon because you often hear of new systems having major problems in the first year or so but I am very pleased to say we have not had any issues! The graphics are out of this world! My only complaint is not enough games are released yet... But in due time I'm sure there will be more.

I've been with playstation for life.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I remember having the ps1, and then thinking the ps2 was so much better. And then the ps3 completely blew me away.. But now.. The ps4!! I can not wait! I have always disliked xbox simply because of how confusing the a b x buttons or whatever were. And I mean, for something so much better and $100 cheaper, the ps4 definitely wins. And don't get me started on the controller.. I'm in love.. Thank you sony, you are my childhood.

Nice system Happy Customer
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Picked up my PS4 tonight...I had been reading the reviews of problems today and was concerned. Well when I arrived home I set it up and no problems on the initial boot. I then completed the 1.50 update download this with no problem. I then started the install and I did indeed get the blue flashing light with no video. The TV did not lose the connection but there was nothing on the screen. I waited for about ten minutes nothing(really worried at this point) so I unplugged it rebooted and no problems since. I've played Ghosts Fifa and Killzone and have no complaints. Great product the issues Sony is having are to be expected to a point in the end it's about how they handle it.

Can't go wrong with PS4
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First let me say that I have been a loyal Playstation owner since PS1. As I have getting older I don't play games as much as I used to, but the Playstation Brand has been my choice over the years. I just enjoy many if their franchises so I stick with them. As for the Ps4...it's great so far! I love the new interface and the speed and ease of use of looking at my trophies launching a game and whatever else I'm doing. The new controller is awesome. Comfortable and perfect response! Price wise it's what is expected for next gen system and cheaper then the competition! Oh and did I mention the playstation plus?!? You get a free month with purchase and it is well worth the monthly fee afterwards. They give you so many free games! If you don't like it then cancel it and you can still play online for free!!! Anyways time to go play some games!

Ps4
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The sleek edgy design of the ps4 is so ascetically appeasing that you want to make it the center piece of your entertainment center, however this beauty comes at a price. The small sleek system manages to pack everything into it's delicate box. Including the power brink, and if you've ever felt your power brick after hours of fragging noobs then you know that this puppy gets hot, really hot, like fry an egg and turn iron into steel hot. One would think this would be a good thing, keeping this molten hot thermal detonator contained in a small box. Well, one would be wrong. Because both the CPU and GPU are pumping out enough equations per second to make rain man look slow they already get very hot. So, combination of all three of these epic heat produces stitched up tight in a epically small case creates a cooling fans worst night mare. And subsequently the system heats up and needs to be left alone for a whole long while to cool it's hot headed temper. Overall great system. Take the power brick out and replace it with a few glowing fans and you have a fantastic cool system that will last for years.

Always been a Sony person
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have owned every Playstation and will own all the future ones...but lets not bash xbox...both systems provide their own fun. I like to own every console...I currently don't have the Xbox One, but I still have my old wii...my ps4 and an xbox 360 that I won...while I rarely play anything other than the PS...I will not say negative things about any of them...

Awesome system
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Set up was easy, the new interface is really nice, it's simpler and easier to use. Graphics are awesome since it's outputting in full 1080p in most games. The controller feels really good also, maybe not quite as good as xbox in that aspect.
