Customers are saying
Customers express satisfaction with the PlayStation 4's impressive graphics, enjoyable controller, and ease of use. Many also praise its performance and find it to be a good value for the price. However, some customers point out the lack of backwards compatibility with previous PlayStation consoles and disappointingly short battery life of the controller. The absence of a bundled camera was also noted as a drawback by some users.

Great console for the price!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After been using the PS3 for 7 years, I have been craving for a new console. The PS4 is everything I thought the new game console should be. Most games run at 1080p and switching from in-game to the OS is a snap. The new Dualshock 4 is awesome with the R2 L2 triggers slightly curve upward. No more slipping from buttons when playing a racing game. This great console is not without flaws though. Some of the most basic functions are still missing. For example, you can't use your own bluetooth headset for the Sony Elite Pulse. You are stuck with cheaply made headset that came with the console (very uncomfortable to wear). The battery for the controller does not last too long when compare with the old dualshock 3. I can go on, but the console has just launched and I hope Sony will fix most of these problems soon.

Better than PS3
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Quieter and skinnier than original PS3 when using it. Could be better if you could play PS3 games also or have the option to download software to play.

Sony Once again does good!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am very impressed with the speed of the user interface and the speed of the system overall. I have no slowdowns on the games. Everything runs smoothly. I love the new controllers. They are easy to play the games with and they have added functionality. Very cool. But one drawback is that the battery runs down very fast. But you can put the PS4 in standby mode and it will charge the controllers up in that mode if they are hooked up by the USB. It automatically downloads game updates in the background as well as system updates. I am very impressed. It is a good upgrade to the PS3. Video playback is very good. I have played multiple DVD and blu-ray movies and they all played flawlessly. Sony is going to do a lot of great things with this system. I can't wait to see what they they have in store for the PS4.

Next gen at fair price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got my ps4 at midnight launch. Was very excited about the purchase for it was my first time getting a console when it first comes out. First impression once I set it up (very easy to do) was how much more streamlined and efficient the UI is compared to the ps3. You must DL games to the system before you play them but it doesn't matter cuz you can play the game while it downloads outside of a few features you don't get access to till the DL is done. The systems runs smooth with little to no noise coming from it when running games. I bought four games (BF4, AC:BF, nba2k, and KZ:SF) all look very impressive on next gen and show off what the system is capable of in its infancy stage. Can't wait to see what this thing can do 2 years down the road. If you like gaming and were a fan of the ps3 then this system is a must own. The exclusive games, the new UI, gland the fair price tag make it a no brainer pick up. One gripe though. A few buggy issues where games close middle of game and I get an error report (mostly BF4) but it's few and far between and I'm sure it will get fixed.

Sweet system
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.PS4 is all it's cracked up to be. Haven't had any issues with the system. Works great, great interface, easy to use. I think Xbox One got a little too ahead of themselves. Too many glitches and not user friendly. For me it's PS4 all day

Best Playstation ever!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When I heard the problems plaguing the PS4 I was skeptical about buying the console, but I went through with it and bought one anyway and went home with it, I found no such problems. Maybe because I was fortunate enough, but whatever it was I haven't ran into anything. On a hardware perspective it looks aesthetically pleasing, and noise the cooling fan is almost non-existent, but the drive spin noise is heard for the first few minutes of playing a game. Doing a quick feel test after running it for a few hours, when it comes to overheating I didn't really notice a lot of heat around the system even after a couple of hours of play time. As for the software it runs great, the UI *User Interface* runs fast and fluid, allowing you to switch between the game you're playing and Netflix with the press of a button.

Great Console, Great Price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you want to buy a new gaming console, go with the PS4. It's lightning fast, great graphics, and has a ton of great features, including an awesome online store. I was able to get it for $50 off at Best Buy during the holidays, which is a huge plus. Nice job, Best Buy. In-Store pick up and great discounts are what will keep me from choosing Amazon.

Should've waited.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. There's no doubt that the system is a lot more powerful than it's predecessor. It's faster, graphics are superb (you can see for yourself by searching for comparison videos online) and even quieter than the PS3. But those improvements alone don't justify spending $400 to play games that you can already enjoy on current systems. It's better to wait a few months when Sony starts releasing better exclusives. If you enjoyed adding your personal collection of MP3's, videos and pictures from external media on your PS3 then you'll be disappointed to know that the PS4 does NOT allow those features. No MP3 or music CD playback, no external media support which is a major step backwards. One can only hope that Sony can remedy this with a future update but nothing has been confirmed so far. It does come with a free trial of Music Unlimited, and it's actually a really good service. You can listen to millions of songs online on your PS3, PS4, PS Vita, PC, and smartphone. The quality is crystal clear, and you can even download the music on your phone and listen to it in places like the subway where you can't get a connection. The service will cost $10 a month afterwards ($5 plan only allows playback on PS3 and PS4) but it's a nice service to have, especially if you like listening to music while playing games since this is the only option available to do so. Bottom line, it's a great system. Just wait a bit.

A great console with many exciting features
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When I first heard of the PS4, I considered staying with Xbox. But when the Xbox 1 was revealed, I was really disappointed, and decided to "switch." The PS4 has better and more exclusive games. Unlike a big bulky box, SONY's PS4 is sleek, compact and small. Also, the console is more powerful than the other consoles. (Xbox 1, WiiU) There is a lot of other great things with this miracle machine, but I have to leave the Xbox now, knowing that I am making a wise choice.

Best Console
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Before I bought my PS4 from Best Buy I had an XBOX360. I wasn't all that impressed with the XBOX One's hype so I decided to go with Play Station this time around and I am so glad I made the switch. My PS4 is awesome. I love the interface, I love the design, I love all of it's capabilities and how well it plays games. I just need my friends to all get one so we can play together online! Great machine.

Best Game Console I've Ever Had
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The PS4 is awesome. The games are great and the power over the X1 is really apparent. The controller is amazing and feels perfect in your hand. The console is really quiet as well. I honestly could not have asked for a better console.

Greatness
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Good: It is faster than the last generation, now featuring party chat, multitasking, Netflix, Blu-rays, the controller is much better, cool share features - like being able to take control of a friends game to help out (supposedly, haven't been able to do that). The Bad: Can't change the background, but not that big of a deal, every time I have to charge the controller I have to unplug the USB cable to get it to charge. All things compared, Xbox only comes with a 15 day membership and that's it, PS4 comes with $10 for the PSN store, 30 day membership which also gets you access to several free downloadable games, and a 30 music unlimited membership. Also unlike Xbox, no gold or plus membership required to play Netflix, Hulu, and so on. However, there is no YouTube app, BIG PROBLEM, NEEDS YOUTUBE!!

It's All You Could Ask for in a System
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. There's not much I can say about the ps4 that hasn't already been said. It is a fantastic piece of technology, and one every game could enjoy. The software runs smoothly and without flaw. My only complaint is that it can be loud at times and gets very hot. I hope that this does not lead to problems in the future after the warranty has run out.

great system for long term users
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.i still got my 60gb ps3 that i bought when it first came out, price was steep but gladly i bought it and yes it plays all ps games and loved it. now with ps4 all the graphic is gonna be better more user friendly on the UI and more features, without having pay for app like netflix and amazon movies is a plus in my book, i mean you already paying for the montly service why pay for the app it makes no sense. its going to be a great entertainment system with years to come

Got it first so waiting for the world to catch up
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ok, I'm 43 and my son is 14 so I don't use it as much as him (I only play BF4) but here's what I see. I think the graphics are awesome. The controller is comfortable and the changes are close enough to the original that the learning curve is slight. The catch up problem is BF4 had issues for the first 2 weeks but they are getting through it. Also first few days were rough but that is to be expected. One downside is the buttons (on/off and disc eject) are hard to see. My son loves and uses the cross chat and all the other bells and whistles and seems content. You have to buy Playstation plus to play online ($49 yr) but they give you a free month and $10 coupon in the box. They also give you free games on your PS3 if you use the same account. Overall I love it so far and my kid loves it more.

Sony has outdone themselves!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Took me about 10 minutes to set up. I picked it up at midnight opening at Best Buy and have a hard time putting it down! The graphics are amazing and PSN has offered free games already. This is my family's entertainment center and we get a lot of use out of it. BF4 for me and movies like Monster's University for the kiddos. The colors are perfect and the graphics can't be beat. At 60 frames per second your eyes will pop and your brain will overload with all the details! I've already shared some BF4 highlight because it's so easy to do now. The flat stand to sit it upright is sold seperately and should come with the console but that's small compared to the benefits of owning this great console. This console runs a little hot so avoid tight spaces. A+++ from a lifetime Playstation fan!

LOVETHISPLAYSTATION4
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I just love this new Play Station 4, it has amazing graphics, amazing extra and new features. The PlayStation Plus is great, so many free games for a small price. Playing online is much better, the games that are coming out I cannot wait to play them. Did I mention the graphics that are crazy awesome. I just cannot stop playing this new console.

Great hardware, but not quite a must buy yet
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So much power in such a small, sleek box. The Dualshock 4 is, perhaps, the best controller I've ever used. The redesigned interface is great. The mandatory installs aren't the problem some people made them out to be. There's so much potential here. The only downside is the lack of games at launch.
