Customers are saying

Customers express satisfaction with the PlayStation 4's impressive graphics, enjoyable controller, and ease of use. Many also praise its performance and find it to be a good value for the price. However, some customers point out the lack of backwards compatibility with previous PlayStation consoles and disappointingly short battery life of the controller. The absence of a bundled camera was also noted as a drawback by some users.

I love the new system. I think the graphics are great. System is very sleek and pretty small. The controller is also very comfortable, given the new style in comparison to the last controller styles. So far, no problems!

Console works just as advertised. Very slick and intuitive interface, games look great, system is very quiet. I cannot stress enough how amazing remote play with the vita is; when it works well, it sings. It's amazing.

I purchased the PS4 on the first night and was thrilled. I opened it as soon as I got home; box and accessories perfect for collector purposes. Also included is a 30 Day Trial Playstation Plus membership, $10 Playstation store credit and some music credit as well. Controller is user friendly and very comfortable. Comes with HDMI Cable which is such a convenient addition; just incase you weren't prepared with one. This is a blu-ray player just like the previous console; also up-converts DVDs played on it. The gameplay is amazing, from the graphics to the speed. 1st night the network was down, but the following day I signed in hassle free. All around, this is the greatest Sony system to date and anyone would be pleased with acquiring this console.

Great system at great price. Everything was packaged securely. System boots up very quickly with clean bright user interface. The system update, "Sony is famous for," downloaded overnight ready for the morning and then only took 30 seconds to install. The new Dual Shock 4 controller has the best feel, perfect ergonomics in hand, of any controller I've ever used. The touch pad is smooth and functional, but will only be as good as the programers use of it in games. The system runs very quiet and light bar on "top" is either a slick addition or distraction from the TV depending on preference and system placement. Everything from PSN account transferred without incident and log in process was smooth. The PSN Plus system is a no brainer and Sony continues to provide great value to consumers. The free games alone have paid for the subscription twice over the past 3 years. Getting Contrast and Resogun at launch for free is awesome as both are solid indie games. Only negative I can give the launch is the lack of games. Most titles were also available for PS3. Hyped PS4 exclusives were delayed; Driveclub and Infamous. Watchdogs was delayed as well and is supposed to really show off next gen graphics. Voice controls and camera are nice, but not up to competition. A+ Sony.

Nice System and Shipped Amazingly Fast

The PS4 is really cool looking and so small and slim that many people have asked where it is while playing the games. As long time owners and users of the PS3 it is unfortunate that we now have to pay for online play, just like Microsoft. When first installed on the release day, the PS4 did not want to update at first but I credit that to the huge numbers of people accessing the servers for the update and it did eventually update just fine. The system works great and we have had no problems with it. Once more games come out it will be a lot more fun, but right now if you own a PS3 only, I would just wait to get a PS4 until more games are released because many of the PS4 games that are available are already available on the PS3. On a side note, I was very surprised to receive our PS4 on its release day. We pre-ordered it back in August with no expectation that it would be available from Best Buy until after all of the commotion had died down on and after release day. The night before the release, I received an email that the system would be overnighted and arrive on the release day, and it did arrive in mid-morning on Nov. 15th. Totally unexpected and my hat is off to Best Buy! No standing in line or fighting to get a system. Very unexpected and kudos to Best Buy.

Sleek, powerful, and quiet. The controller is a great improvement over the previous dual shocks and the user interface is simple to use and navigate. I look forward to many years of increadible gaming experiences.

Great device, easy to use, one big drawback!

The Playstation 4 is a great device. It is very easy to use and connect. The home menu is very nice. The controller feels great and has a ton of features including a touchpad and speakers built into the it. You can also plug in headphone directly into the controller. For me, a huge drawback is the fact that the PS4 does not recognize USB drives. Because of this, I cannot use the PS4 as a media station to play my videos and my music as I could with the PS3. HUUUUGE letdown that I cannot do this. How can the previous generation console (PS3) have the capability and the new console (PS4) not have this feature. It looks to me like just a way Sony is trying to force people to use their paid services to access any media. Very disappointing, I'm hoping Sony will smarten up and eventually release a software update that will allow the unit to read USB drives. I mean the USB inputs are there, it is just a matter of allowing the consumers to do this.

Do i really Have to say anything if you watched the E3 sony conference but if you didin't the system is $100 cheaper then the Xbox one and has 500gb just like the Xbox one. It has alot more exclusives and thats something we always bring up when debating which is better. The graphics look amazing and most off the of all it will be the ultimate gaming system.

I've had mine for over a month now and it's been a great machine. All the games I get at no additional charge for being a PS+ subscriber, Tomb Raider:DE, and now Infamous have been great. The much faster UI is greatly appreciated over the aging and slow PS3 UI. I really love the Dual Shock 4 as well. I've always preferred Sony's controller design to their competitors and this is the best iteration yet. Between the PS4 and my PC, I think I'm good to go for the foreseeable future. Also, news that The Last of Us is getting reworked for the PS4 nearly caused me to faint. So excited!

    Best gaming console out there!

I love the Playstation 4! It is a great step up from the Playstation 3 and it is so much better than other consoles coming out at this time. The graphics are amazing, the games are a lot of fun, and it is very easy to connect with old friends and meet new ones! The only thing that my boyfriend and I don't like about it is that the storage is kind of small. It seems big but when each game takes about 50 GB of data, it starts to add up. I am glad that the price didn't go up from the Playstation 3 price when it was released because I thought that was going to be an issue. I am also glad that the game prices stayed the same. It is completely worth the purchase and I don't have the camera for it yet but I am planning on getting it soon.

    Great Gaming Console

The playstation 4 is truly a gamers console, the graphics and smoothness in transitions are superior to that of the other next gen console out right now. The best part about this system is that all games are remote play capable with the PS Vita from home or away (with good internet connection). If you have been a playstation fan in the past this new console will not disappoint. It is easy to set up right out of the box and the games look great. I must note that there is currently no 3D Support for games or Blu-Rays, This I hope they change moving forward with software updates.

    Great Next Gen Gaming Console

I recently got my PS4 when it finally went in back stock again and I'm enjoying every minute of it. The OS has a fresh feel to it (coming from the PS3). I like the design of the system since its fairly small and sleek. The controller feels real nice, much better than the DS3. There is a lack of games that I am interested in it for now, but I am enjoying the ones offered on PS Plus at the moment and NBA2k14. The one thing that bugs me at the moment is the inability to pause downloads like how you could with the PS3. Although, I hope they do have an update to address it.

The system seems to load everything faster then my PS3 did. I really like the background almost transparent patch downloading, trophy sync, and instant install of the games when you put the disc in. The graphics look good but to be honest after about 5 min I don't really notice that part anymore. I bought on launch day so only have 4 games (CoD, AC4, and the 3 free PS+ games). I use this in a dedicated home theater and really don't like the built in light on the controller. Using a projector its generally pretty dark in the room & the light from the controller drives me nuts and in dark areas of the screen I can actually see it cause shadows when the light hits my feet. I hope they come up with a way to disable this light later on! My other complaint is the battery life of the controller is no where near what my old PS3 controllers are (One is 6yrs the other is 3yrs old). Its still sufficient for 3-4hr gaming sessions but won't go multiple days like my old ones will. At this point its hard to say if the system is good or bad? Personally I'm neutral on it. It plays games and that is what I want it to do. Could it have more features yes, do I want more from it.. yes. Hopefully Sony will evolve it as they did with PS3.

This console has the most amazing graphics I've ever seen. The games look amazing. Blue-ray movies look amazing as well & PlayStation Network has massive selection on movies to rent on-line and cheap games to add. Once you buy this prepare to spend many late nights and entire weekends obsessed with playing PS4!

The PS4 is here and is a jump into the next generation of gaming. The console is sleek, stylish, a modern, very easy to use UI. In the box there was 1 month free of PS Plus which entitles the buyer to 3 free games right off the bat. You also have many apps to watch movies in 1080p streaming, many new movies even. The games looks great all in 1080p, the ones I played so far. The controller is amazing, I also got the camera and it is so precise and tracks your every movement and even has voice and face recognition for logging in, or choosing menus with voice and used in gameplay. Also there were 3 MMOS free games to play at launch, each one very good too. This system will entertain for years to come, a great buy!

    Powerful PS4 System

Overall, I love the systems performance with much more faster downloads and more interactive than my PS3 thanks to it's much improved engine performance. Its got a very clean look. The system is rather compact and stealthy looking. The controller is a very nice fit. I love the fact that you can now use headphones connected directly to the controller. I very much like the camera connection in the back of the PS4 versus in the front on the PS3 which makes for a neater connection. I like using the face recognition option when logging on. It's a great system and worth it.

    Amazing Console

Everything about this console is amazing. The shape, the quietness, the graphics, and its controller. Very nice to look at. The controller itself is much more improved from its predecessor. Bigger so it fits better into your hands, the triggers are curved and I like them A LOT, and the analog sticks have the little ridge in them and give my thumbs a lot better grip than the PS3 analogs. Overall its one of the best consoles I've ever had. The only thing I would recommend is to buy the one year or two year protection plan for it. Because I've heard some people have had problems with the console and I don't think mine will have them, but I don't want to take any chances. But I recommend this console to EVERYONE.

its all worth it after 11 hours in line waiting to get one of these PS4 machines even 23 days after its release date , graphics are stunning and it is very easy to navigate through it. Easy set up, didn't even take me more than 15 min to start playing. I love the new features including the connection of the Mic on the controller. I would recommend protecction plan from bestbuy if you can afford it even dough is $30 more then Sony but you don't have to send your PS4 by mail and wait and it also covers any accessory that you buy under the same receipt with the console

    Playstation 4

I purchased the PS4 on launch day at midnight, when I got home within 30 minutes I was up and running. The PS4 itself works flawlessly, one game has had issues since launch and those are being addressed. I have a Turtle Beach headset (Earforce Delta) that the chat function didn't work with new PS4 but a $7 cable has it working fine and I think the headset company will patch so my headset will work without the chat cable. It looks great, is light and smaller than the PS3. As always, it could use at least 2 extra USB ports, maybe on the back for the camera and headset so nothing is sticking out on front. Doesn't get hot so far, even after a 5 hour gaming stint. XMB is nice and easy to use. I am happy with it.

    Much potential here

Besides the obvious graphic and audio improvements, the best feature about this console is the controller, the DualShock 4. I, amongst many, absolutely hated the PS3 controller. The PS3 controller was the main reason I never got into PS3 gaming before, it wasn't comfortable and it felt more like a toy than an accessory. PlayStation finally got the parallel analog stick design perfect with a larger frame, concave analog sticks and triggers, and rubbery grips on either side of the controller. Expect to see big things from this system as developers learn to utilize not only what it can do internally, but also when using the touchpad interface on the DualShock 4 in conjunction with the PlayStation Camera.
