Customers are saying
Customers express satisfaction with the PlayStation 4's impressive graphics, enjoyable controller, and ease of use. Many also praise its performance and find it to be a good value for the price. However, some customers point out the lack of backwards compatibility with previous PlayStation consoles and disappointingly short battery life of the controller. The absence of a bundled camera was also noted as a drawback by some users.

My PS4 Experience
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ok I guess its time to write my review, Afterall i waited in line to buy this darn thing. 8hrs to be exact. Since I waited in line and had the work the following day I didnt open the package until Sat afternoon. I couldnt download the update at first tried again in a couple of hours still no luck at about 8pm I got the update running. Then i couldnt connect to the PSN Network, so i gave up and tried later on that evening I got on the network, downloaded all the free stuff. btw I love free stuff. 30days free Plus account 30days free Music unlimited, and 10bucks free to spend int he store. and another 7days free plus account in my Killzone game. Okay so Sunday i loaded the battefiled 4 upgrade, and boy can I tell you Im so disappointed. BF4 is a major failure on PS4. Okay and my other issue with the PS4 network is I still can't connect to the facebook to upload my game data from BF4. which isnt that good anyways because BF4 is full of glitches. There are three or maybe 4 free titles to choose from in the PS store at the moment so far Ive only played 1. I'm really sorry to hear that so many people are having problems OTB "out the box" but so far I have none. and I gotta believe the library of games with get better, the system will become more secure, EA will ge there act together 1day. I love the battefield series. EA has been having major issues for the last two years fixing this series and so far dont have any major issues with the PS4. Okay my honest opinion. if your looking for a system to get the kids for Christmas and are on the ropes. I would say hold let sony get there act together before you buy. But if youa hardcore gamer and you gott have the newest thing BUY. Because I believe things will only get better. and you gotta love the free stuff that comes with. Oh yeah if you gotta couple of dollars hanging around invest in a good headset.

Choose Playstation 4
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Former owner of XBox 360 but love Playstation 4. The hardware is more advance than XBox One.Games load quicker and download is easier. Unique game selection. Also silent, lightweight, and does not take up lots of space.

powerful, sleek and impressive
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The new PlayStation is very cool looking sleek and a good size compared to the Xbox One which is very large. The system is very powerful and games look great in 1080p. The new controller is much better than previous versions and feels much better to hold and game with. The headset included is somewhat cheap and doesn't fit in the ear very well. The system loads quickly as are downloads compared to the PS3 which was so slow. The menu/interface is very clean and streamlined but could be a little more intuitive and easier to find things. Overall Sony really made this system for gamers and really put a lot of effort into making the changes people have been asking for. Great system so far!

Love it!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. In the week since I've had my system, I can say that it is everything I've wanted plus more. Navigating the new UI is much easier and faster than the PS3's XMB. You can go from the game you are playing back to the main menu and back to the game very quickly. Load times are also much faster. The overall package to the PS4 is so much better than the PS3. I plan to upgrade the hard drive too as 500GB won't last me too long, especially with the sizes of most games. Thankfully upgrading the hard drive is a very easy process just like it was for the PS3. I am very happy with my purchase and would recommend anyone else who is interested in the console to pick up one to. You won't regret it!

Great gaming platform
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great system, much improved over the previous generations of consoles. I couldn't believe how easy everything is about this console (not to mention how fast from unboxing to up and running it all is). I've already swapped out the included hard drive for a much bigger one, and it was one of the easiest upgrades I've ever done. Everything is so quick and snappy, has very nice looking graphics, and wow, what an improvement to the dualshock controller. Glimpses of this console's massive potential exist in the available software, and judging on previous games from Sony they will indeed come, "greatness truly does await" (let's just hope that the wait is on the shorter side).

The best controller EVER made.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Most Playstation fans cite the DualShock controllers as being their primary reason for enjoying playstation over xbox, the opposable thumb sticks feel more natural for a large contingent of people, so it is no surprise that when Sony released the details on the ps4, there were a lot of 'oohs' and 'ahhs' about the new design. It only took one second for me to confirm that the stories being written about the DualShock4 being 'the best controller Sony ever made' by many gaming review outlets were true. You feel it instantly. The matte-like carbon-style grips on the handles, the concave triggers that dont feel overly spring-loaded, the non plastic-toy feel of the DualShock3, and most importantly, the width was increased to better accomodate the users' hands. The shoulder buttons can be easily used without giving yourself 'the claw', the thumbsticks are now concave as well to prevent the 'panic slip', and the touchpad interface is going to make for some nice features as well. All of this makes for a gaming experience that is instantly comfortable whilst still familiar. DO NOT BUY A GAMING HEADSET for this system. I purchased the Turtle Beach PX4s for $150 but since the DualShock4 has a headset mic port you need to attach the headset to anyway, you can simply use a pair of headphones like everyone else uses on their daily commute. For the price of that headset, I exchanged it for some BOSE earbuds, and my experience already increased ten-fold. Felt good to be rid of the monstrosity that is gaming headsets. Im not a stickler for 1080/720p and the differences between them, but boy is this thing pretty. 10 minutes with Resogun and I tucked my ps3 into the living room to become a netflix/bluray device forever and ever. If you are looking to decide between xbox one and ps4, there are pros and cons for both, more so in this generation than the previous installments, but all in all it will be a matter of personal preference. Right now there are some crash issues with certain titles (BF4 has had myriad issues thus far, but DICE is working very well with the community and most kinks have been ironed out as I write this). I have yet to crash on any downloaded title or game that was not BF4. Crash you say? Like an app crashes? Yes. Games and software on the ps4 is streamlined to run as applications, meaning you can rotate back and forth between the playstation UI and whatever game/media you are using on the fly without interruption or closing said game. The app functionality also means that the party system now makes chatting with friends available and uninterrupted no matter what you are doing. Be it main menu, movies, games, even different lobbies within games, you will always remain chatting to your party. A feature adopted from XBoxLive that was sorely missed in the PSN framework. Speaking of PSN, Playstation Plus IS required to play games online, but if you are a Sony Loyalist, you would know that if they broke their stance on free online gaming, you would know that they would do it for a reason. Everything runs much smoother on the network, and it is highly user friendly. With the improvements I will gladly pay the $49/year rate. If you want to wait for more titles to launch like Destiny, Infamous: Second Son and WatchDogs, you can. PS3 is still going to be releasing content for The Last of Us and GTAV to keep you busy, as well as Gran Turismo 6. So this is not an immediate purchase to keep up with gaming on the whole. But if you cant wait to see what next gen has to offer, like I clearly could not do, then go ahead and buy one, I promise you will not be disappointed.

PlayStation is the place to play
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I owned all 3 gaming consoles... and after years of owning them, while there were certain aspects I like about all of them, I certainly spent the most time using my PlayStation without a doubt and enjoying it for gaming, Netflix, Hulu Plus, Internet Browsing, Youtube, Blu-ray movies, PSN Store, renting movies, etc... And I like knowing I can sell my games when I get tired of them, I can easily rent out games without having to download anything and I've never been prevented from letting my friends & family borrow games freely. I like knowing that Sony values me as their customer enough to allow me to have these freedoms. PlayStation does a lot of things great, but best of all is the PlayStation gaming experience. Fantastic games from large publishers as well as unique and fun games from small publishers, I appreciate that PlayStation is providing a platform for smaller publishers to get their games out there for us to have new, fun and creative experiences. For me gaming isn't so much about wanting to relive the same game over and over with new reincarnations of the same game I already know... that's ok but to open my mind to new constantly evolving gaming experiences is pretty fantastic... and that creativity really thrives on PlayStation!

Excellent!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Like most people I was concerned about all of the pre-launch hardware issues being reported, but those fears were unfounded as my console has worked perfectly. My favorite feature so far is using my Vita for remote play! The setup process is quick and easy, and the connection to the console is fast and reliable! I've probably spent more time playing remotely than on the actual console to be honest. Otherwise the new controller is much easier to hold, and the analog sticks aren't as slippery as the dualshock 3 and earlier models. The touchpad works as expected, and the triggers are much more comfortable and easy to hit. All in all, I'm extremely happy with my purchase and would recommend it to my friends!

Love it so far
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have owned all of the Playstations so far and many other game systems since the late 70's. This system is a worthy successor to the PS3 in terms of graphics, performance, usability and general coolness! The new controller is a significant upgrade from the DS3 technology-wise and the most comfortable and natural to use. Using motion control to type on the on-screen keyboard is effortless and eliminates the need for an external keyboard (for many users). The voice commands work reliably to navigate the Home screen and to start/end games. Looking forward to additional voice controlled features and short cuts in the future. Almost forgot to mention....the games are awesome!

Fantastic Machine, Premier Gaming Console
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The first thing you'll notice is the small size and sleek design, then you turn it on and experience the speed of this machine. This machine flies. From one game to the store to settings to right back into your game you will fly seamlessly. A truly next gen feel. The controller has a near flawless design. The most handy feature is the headphone jack built into the controller itself. Just plug in any headphones and game without bothering the people around you. I don't know how I've gamed for all these years without it. Features are still being added and I only expect this system to continue to improve. If you're into gaming, this is the console for you. Highly recommend.

BEST PLATFORM EVER!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was always was is and will be a Sony fan. I got my hand on the first fat gen Ps2 and I have been a big fan of the PS platform since then and so far this is the best system they have. The ps4 is probably the most futuristic looking platform out there. For example, look at the new controller with its glowing light changes depending on charging/battery life and many more (which I haven't found out yet). The graphic is amazing with a 1080p HDTV and the gameplay feels alot more fluid than the ps3. So far, I have no problem with the ps4, but hopefully there is no YLOD problem like my past 3 1st gen PS3s. Though, if played by high graphic, the ps4 tend to get hot alot faster.

Sony does it again.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sony Playstation 4 is a remarkable device. The new interface is excellent, the controls are amazing, graphics incredible. Not a huge fan of how integrated facebook and such are, but im sure that will interest others. I've owned ps2 and ps3 but that doesn't make me bias. I had an xbox 360 and was a nintendo player from nes to wii. I just love how sony is focusing on the gamer and they are trying to offer the best service while also making themselves a profit. PS+ is back and slightly more mandatory than it was before, but I was a member since it began and the free games are worth their weight in gold. If you can only get 1 system this generation I recommend the ps4.

Another great console from Sony
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love the feel of the new controller design. Kinda missing the fact that it's backwards compatible but I have 2 PS3's so I'm not too worried. Runs really quiet compared to its predecessor .

THIS IS AWESOME!!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First, let me say that the PS4 is the best choice for consoles between Microsoft Xbox One and PS4. I was going back and forth between the two, have owned both previous consoles, and finally settled on PS4. Here are the reasons I settled. 1. THE RAW COMPUTING POWER. There is no denying, no matter how much of an Xbox Fan you are, that the PS4 is more powerful. And no, PS3 was never more powerful than the Xbox 360. The PS4 holds its own with native 1080p on all games, whereas Xbox One does not have native 1080p on some games. For instance, Call of Duty: Ghosts, only runs at 720p and is upconverted. On the PS4 Call of Duty: Ghosts runs at 1080p native. With as much power as the PS4 has, developers have more to work with and can develop games with an inherent better gaming experience (if they are creative enough) than the Xbox One. 2. GAMES. IF you are disappointed with the amount of games released with the PS4, you are not alone. BUT. There are currently hundreds of games being developed for the PS4 because Sony has made the PS4 more developer friendly and oriented, and because of this, there will be SO MANY GAMES for the system over the next two years. This console will flower with ALL kinds of games in the near future. I am willing to hold out for those awesome games. 3. SOCIAL. I have already played massive amounts of WARFRAME, and love the social options available on the PS4 for playing this game. While in game, you can add people as friends and don't need to go to the main menu. Being able to party chat, and view what your friends are doing now and see live gameplay on twitch is really cool. Also, the in-game video recording is REALLY cool. You can share how to defeat a boss or move through a level with recorded video. Go online to check out all the social options, which are many. 4. CONTROLLER. They was they created the controller is way COOL. Not only is it more robust and feels much better in the hands, they have added a touch pad that doubles as an extra button, creating all kinds of possibilities for future games. Also, there is no more start and select button. The PS4 doesn't need these anymore because you can simply press the PS Button and Pause your game and go do other things, come back and pick up where you left off. I would recommend buying TWO, because they seem to loose power pretty quick--so one for play and one for charging. 5. 4K VIDEO when it becomes the next standard...enough said. 6. PRICE. $100 less at launch. To be fair, the PS4 doe not ship with the EYE like the Xbox One ships with the Connect. But if the PS4 DID ship with the EYE it would be almost another $100. BUT I DO LIKE THAT SONY DID NOT MAKE THIS DECISION FOR ME, BECAUSE RIGHT NOW I DON'T WANT ONE. Different business models. 7. SIZE. I know that size should not matter...but in this case, smaller wins. It's really easy to put anywhere in the house because of the size. The Xbox One is a little bigger. 8. UPGRADE. This console can take a bigger/faster hard drive or SSD if you want. Which is really cool; just have a licensed entity install. 9. There are other reasons I am sure others will mention, but these are the highlights for me. Anyway, I am really enjoying my console and look forward to all the awesome games that will be coming out soon. Again, I have owned both the Xbox 360 and PS3 and can say that the PS4 won the day. Good job Sony.

PS4
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you like Sony Playstation, you'll love the PS4! Its worth the price. The design is super sleek and the interface is user friendly. It has a lot to offer for a harddcore or casual gamer. It comes with everything you need; an HDMI cable, one controller with a charging cord, 500g upgradable hard drive, and dicounted PS+ membership with a$10 gift card fort the PlayStation store! Its a must have for gaming and you have free apps for streaming movies, videos, music, and games. You also can instantly share your gaming stats via facebook, and other media with the instant share button on the controller. I highly recommend purchasing the awesome PlayStation 4!!!!

Has a lot of promise
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got my PS4 on Midnight launch day. I came home and set it up in about 10 minutes, downloaded and installed the required updates and was good to go. The only issues I had and am having are some games crashing, i.e. Battlefield 4, which seems to be more of an issue with the game's developer, and not so much Sony. These issues should be ironed out soon (hopefully) with a patch. It seems to be a very high quality unit, doesn't run too loud, and looks sleek on my entertainment center. It really doesn't take up much space at all. The controller feels much better than it's previous incarnation. I have always loved the Xbox 360 controller, especially for shooters, and couldn't stand the dual shock. Luckily, everything from the sticks, to the triggers and ergonomics are a vast improvement. Switching from the 360 to the PS4 controller has been less of an adjustment than I anticipated. This system shows a lot of promise as developers kick into full gear and can unlock the PS4's full potential. I was on the fence between getting an Xbox One and PS4 and I feel like I made the right decision.

Next Gen is here...
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The next gen of gaming has arrived and Sony makes a strong case for why the future of gaming will be great. The powerful console learns from sony missteps with PS3 and offers up an enhance UI, camera and perfectly refined controller(absolutely hated the DS3). There are great things to come in this consoles lifespan and while the launch title don't make making the jump to next gen a necessity, it does give a glimpse of things to come. The Xbox One also looks like a great system and thankfully I bought both so I won't sound like a fanboy, but I'm excited for what both systems bring to the table and how they play their cards going into the future.

Much much better then xbox1
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I brought myself a new ps4 gaming system for myself over the holiday season.I must say playstation 4 is much much better then xbox1. I do not have any intentions disrespect any gamers who are having xbox1,here is the problem.Firend of mine she brought a new xbox1 for the christmas. When she got everything set up and ready to use the netflix on her xbox1 system, half of time it froze by itself. How on earth can you have such terrible new products? I don't understand what is wrong with mircosoft?Have they ever learn from their pervious mistake? PS4 is very friendly user gaming system, very reliable, get everything I want, best of all no issues. If you asking me which one is better?I would say PS4 without a doubt. NO wonder why PS4 blow xbox1 away by miles.

Truly Beautiful Graphics
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's been two weeks with my PS4 and I have enjoyed the small amount of time that I have had to play it. The design and controller (finally) look great. The interface is a great leap forward to what PS3 offered. Honestly nothing game changing with the games, but its the start of the generation. Two/three years down the road is when you will really start to see some impressive and immersive gaming. It doesn't have all those bells and whistles as the xbone but it does what it has to (not saying i won't be getting a xbone). If your looking to upgrade your gaming console don't think twice if you're looking in to a PS4. You WILL NOT regret it!
