Customers are saying
Customers express satisfaction with the PlayStation 4's impressive graphics, enjoyable controller, and ease of use. Many also praise its performance and find it to be a good value for the price. However, some customers point out the lack of backwards compatibility with previous PlayStation consoles and disappointingly short battery life of the controller. The absence of a bundled camera was also noted as a drawback by some users.

Another PS4 Hit
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Originally had no intention of buying PS4. Mine unfortunately got stolen, in the end, the PS4 is so much better, running fast and graphics appear so much sharper. Is a bummer no backwards compatibility, but still give the system a 5!

Worthy Successor
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review."Greatness Awaits " they said. I thought well that's boastful for system that's not even out yet. Today after having my PS4 for over a week and a half I can now say that that statement isnt that far off the mark. Everything about this machine has been carefully thought out. The user interface to the actual controller which I thought couldn't get any better. The launch titles are lack luster but there are some Gems. Resogun from PSN I feel is a must have. Being able to upgrade your hard drive is a plus. Its also very easy its the first thing I did when I got mine. There are some bugs though as with any new hardware that change from person to person. If you can find a PS4 purchasing one would be like forward thinking because I have no doubt that come next year it will be the system to own. From its indie games, to its social aspect, and Vita remote play its gonna be a must have.

this is the next gen console
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased both the Xbox one and the PS4 when they were released and since I was a prior xbox 360 user the Xbox one was easier to use at first. However the whole windows system in the Xbox one I find cumbersome and a pain to navigate compared to what is on the PS4. since the launch of both consoles there has been few launch titles that truly capture the capabilities of new technology unless you own a PS4. PS4 has a direct connection to social media so sharing game videos and pics is seamless and easy to do where with xbox its captures what you want but then you have to edit it and can only post a lint to and Upload account that you create associated with your xbox live. PS4 comes with a rechargeable controller and xbox does not. PS4 makes full use of its controllers touch pad and sensors built into the controller and xbox has a new port on their controller which makes any headsets require adaptors that are just coming out to the market or you can buy new headsets. Sony started giving its playstation plus members free games and discounts at launch and Microsoft well their games and discounts are laughable compared to what Sony has. since video games is my main hobby and there probably won't be any new consoles out for a long time I would suggest getting both consoles just from the ability to experience it all and any exclusive games but If you have to choose between one or another I would highly suggest the PS4 as it is not bogged down with a windows interface and puts gaming first. if you are worried about apps and getting content first I wouldn't because everything ends up on both console eventually and you don't gain any competitive advantage by picking the console that has first rights to certain content because you don't play against the gamers on the other console so its not that special. Also PS4 has started to integrate the ability to stream popular PS3 games through on-demand rental similar to renting games through red box but you get to play the PS3 games on the PS4 and Xbox one does not have that nor have I seen any signs that the is even in their pipeline. crippled_ant is my gamer tag friend me I'm always looking for people to play with.

PS4
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is an amazing system that exceeded expectations. I have had no issues with hardware or software as of yet. As listed in the "what's great about it section" is almost everything is great about it with the exception of the controller battery life is noticeably shorter which isn't that much of an issue and my only true concern is even with 500GB HD the games are 40-50GB each and off the top of my head I believe it was around 60-70GB is the systems software so thankfully PS4 had the forethought to allow external hard drive storage.

Excellent console with great graphics
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Best console ever, prefer this one over my Xbox One. Games released on the PS4 look better, quality wise, than on the Xbox One. If the PS4 had something similar to the Kinect, then it would become best entertainment platform ever.

Fast and smooth
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been thrilled with the PS4 since it came out of the box. I love that you can start playing games while it downloads in the background. Load times are fast and the new user interface is a big improvement over the ps3 xmb menu, it's a lot more intuitive now. DS4 is bigger and more comfortable in the hands, especially for long gaming sessions. The machine runs cool even after 5 hours of solid gaming. We'll worth the money!

Exactly what a next gen console should be!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The graphics on this console are absolutely amazing. I wondered how they could make games look any better than they do on the PS3. This system answers that. I can't wait to see what games look like in a year or two if this is what they look like at launch time on a new system. I'm not gonna dog the Xbox One. Its also a good system. I wanted a system that was focused on gaming, graphics, and hardware. I really like the changes they made to the controller and the user interface. In my opinion, you can't go wrong with this system.

Next Gen
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The graphics for the PS4 are quite good. The system interface looks like an updated PS3 interface. The controller is very comfortable to hold. The system looks really good and modern. Overall impressed with the ease of use and how much quicker it installs the games vs the PS3. The only thing that irks me is that it did not come with the ability to play 3D Blu-rays. This is something available on the old system and I know it is capable of this function, so why wasn't it included? It really seems like a step back in this aspect.

Couldn't get any better!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I pre-ordered the PS4 and I sure am glad I did! I got the system day 1 and it is everything I dreamed of and more! Very easy to set up and start gaming! The PS4 has everything you need in the box to get started, from a controller to a HDMI cable. The redone interface is smooth and allows easy access to the things you're looking for (games, movies, etc). The redone controller is buttery smooth and has a great feel to it. The buttons are responsive and easy to access. The only problem I have is that the included earbud headset which plugs into the controller and sits in your ear is uncomforable and will hurt your ear; you won't be able to wear it for long. Plus, the Sony Elite Pulse headset that I spend $100.00 on for PS3 isn't compatible for PS4 (COME ON SONY!) You may want to invest in another headset. Other than that, buy it. You won't be disappointed!

PS4
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I give the ps4 a 10 out of 5. The graphics are awesome on the ps4. I purchased ghost on the ps3 and the graphics were terrible. Upgraded to the ps4 and the graphics are more realistic and 2k14 is awesome as well. The voice chat helps to make the system more personal to the owner. The PlayStation app works well with the system. Received 30 days free of PlayStation plus, unlimited music, and 10 dollars for psn store. Used the 10 dollars to upgrade my cod ghost and received about 5 free games as well. Thank you Sony for the great system.

Great console, even greater potential
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Set up was flawless and no issues whatsoever. System is quiet and the new interface is much better than the PS3's but could be better as far as user customization goes. Its obvious the PS4 was built with gaming as a priority and is not focused on "media" features, which is good, although the lack of cd, mp3, and DNLA support are a curious omission, but its gaming core shows in the quality of the games, albeit none of the launch titles are must haves in my opinion, yet still Killzone is great and truly shows off a good start for next gen as far as visuals. Should you buy it now? If you can find one, I would say yes as more titles are right around the corner for release and the Twitch/Ustream live streaming is worth the price of admission alone. Console would rate a five except one star dinged for the weak exclusive launch game line-up.

Lives up to the expectation!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Essentially, the machine lives up to the hype. The overall design is slick and huge improvement over the original clunky design of the PS3. The interface is simple and easy to get used to. Very user friendly. Game play is gorgeous, though to be expected. So far, only a minor gripe is blu ray playback, I haven't figured out if there's a resume feature though I'm sure updates in the future will solve this...

This system is Awesome!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you enjoyed your PS3 and/or Xbox360 you will absolutely love this system! It's clearly the next generation of gaming. Graphics are enhanced, its smooth, no glitching, online gameplay has been smooth as well. The new controller feels more comfortable and has new functions (still learning about these so I won't comment just yet). But a friendly surprise was that the system came with a headset that plugs into a jack in the controller and works very well for me so far. Sounds clear and others seem to hear me well. Things to keep in mind: It costs for online play now. You are required to get a playstation plus account now, where on the PS3 it was only an option. The system comes with a one month free code for the PS Plus. A pleasant surprise for me since I didn't know. I suggest paying AFTER you use most of that free month up, because I'm not sure if it gets added to what you paid for or not. I bought two years worth during my purchase at Best Buy and they write the code on your receipt and also e-mail you if you're a reward zone customer. Anyway tho, it cost a little now, it seems well worth it, as I can see Sony stepped the quality of all online activity up and added things such as a social networking aspect to your gaming. You can adjust your settings and privacy to avoid that, if it's not your thing. You can also connect with your Facebook. For a big time player like me it seems a bit much to have my trophies acquired posted each time.. so I adjusted so that it only posts what I decide to share. My only problem with it (and its a minor problem) is that the things I share seem to post to FB twice.. so each time I log in I find myself erasing one. All in all the system seems to be beautiful inside and out! I'm loving it! My only complaint is that I'm still waiting for more games than just the ones out so far and that all my friends weren't able to purchase one during launch since they sold out so fast. These problems will clearly heal over time as more games release and the next big shipment of consoles make it to the US.

Amazing Console
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The PS4 is a great gaming system. Most of the launch games for the PS4 run at 1080p and they look beautiful. Everything on the system runs a lot smoother than it did on the PS3. The only complaint I have is the controller life is pretty short. I seem to have to charge them almost everyday or every other day. The good thing about that is you can turn the PS4 into standby mode and it will still charge the controllers and download game and system updates while drawing very little power from the system.

The next Gen console
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First off the PS4 is only $399. What a steal, the PS3 was $600 at launch. Next is comes with a Blu-ray player. it also has a superior game line up. the graphics has been steeped up and with 500GB, there is plenty of space to store games. This next gen console is the death of xbox.

Better Than Expected
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was looking forward to the PS4 since I heard about its release. Since I picked up my purchase I have been nothing but pleasantly surprised with the console. The user interface is slick and smooth and games installing in the background is quick and easy. But none of that matters if the game quality isn't there. So far, Killzone has done a great job showing off system specs and the free games offered without the use of Ps Plus is a nice offering. All around a great investment in my opinion.
