Customers are saying
Customers express satisfaction with the PlayStation 4's impressive graphics, enjoyable controller, and ease of use. Many also praise its performance and find it to be a good value for the price. However, some customers point out the lack of backwards compatibility with previous PlayStation consoles and disappointingly short battery life of the controller. The absence of a bundled camera was also noted as a drawback by some users.

Amazing gaming system
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought the ps4 for my husband's birthday and he has not stopped playing it from the moment he opened the box. The setup for the device is very easy and I love that it allows you to post to Facebook. The controller is phenomenal, very easy to use and lightweight. When you turn it on it gives you updates for the games you are playing, the screen is great. Very user friendly, a child could very easily maneuver around with it.

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.the console itself is the best on the market right now and i love mine to death but...... psn isnt the best. i know sony is working on this but microsoft definitely has a lead on sony when it comes to its sever infrastructure. the console is amazing though its just the backend that needs some work.

Fantastic start to the next-gen!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far I'm very impressed with the PS4. I've played several games on it (Killzone, Assassin's Creed 4, Resogun, Contrast, Warframe) and I do feel it's a nice graphical bump over the previous consoles, Killzone especially. The new controller is great and the interface is much improved. My only real knocks against the console are that the build quality feels cheaper to me than the old PS3 (original or slim) or even the Xbox One. I also don't like that digital games cost exactly the same as the physical version. Sony really should be encouraging you to go digital. Not giving any real incentive is just pushing you toward physical games which have many advantages (trade, resell, etc..).

Great Next Generation of Playstation
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Well I bought my first system that recieved the blue light of death, I contacted Sony Support and convinced them to work around by sending them pictures of my issue and to get them to send me a new unit and then send in my old one. At first they wanted to do a 20 day wait but as long as I gave them a credit card they didnt care cause they could charge me if I didnt send the old one back. Worked out great. After I set it up my system was great I had no issue and enjoyed it. Killzone is a blast and I play CoD on the occasion I also love the Remote play capability especially when I oopen at work and no one is there I can continue my games as usual.

Great next gen system
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm in love with this system already! Sure there are a few things like lack of backwards compatibility and shortage of must have launch titles but there's still a few good ones and many will come soon enough. I love the power, the new interface and ease of use. I've heard stories and buggy systems but I've yet to have a single problem. Can't wait to see what's in store for gamers once this thing finally gets moving along

Best console ever!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The graphics look way better than PS3, and that was enough for a purchase. It is also integrated with PS Vita I've had since day one, haven't tried remote play yet though. The controller is the best I've ever had in my hand in the history of consoles, the system is a nice size to fit wherever you need it to. Boots up really fast too, haven't noticed really long load times in NBA 2K14 or AC IV, but NFS is kinda long....

Perfect for Gamers!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So, I went from an Xbox 360 to the PS4 and it is amazing! Besides the awesome controller (with built in rechargeable batteries), the PS4 loads up really fast! I haven't bothered with buying the Games on Discs, so I just downloaded my games. So far everything loads up really fast; it was also great that it came with a $10 PSN card and a free 30 day trial of PSN. It's also really nice how you can download a game and play it at the same time!!!!! I decided to buy the PS4 camera as well and I love it! Now, there are a lot of things Sony has done amazingly well. The sharing options are amazing! It records 15 minutes of games play, can take snapshots, and even stream you game play (if you're into that.) You can even use the camera and just say "snapshot" so you don't have to bother pausing the game. Also, the fact that I can upgrade my hard drives makes it even more enticing (say a 2 TB hard drive!) The main reason why I got the PS4 was because all the games that I wanted on the Xbox One will be coming out on PC as well, so why bother? My brother bought the Xbox one and it's good, but not my cup of tea. I don't care much for the TV app and stuff; I just want to play games. Now the downside: the PS4 does not have very good voice commands (or very few). The camera is nothing compared to the kinect. There aren't that many games out for it yet (but that's the same with the Xbox One). Overall, I don't have any regrets buying this console. It has some very good title launches and it will continue to "pump" out more games as time goes by.

Great Product
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love the Playstation 4. While it may not be the leap seen in previous generations, it is still an impressive evolution of Sony's gaming console. The new UI is much quicker and user friendly. The games look better than ever before. It comes with an HDMI cable in the box which is convenient. Set-up was very easy as the system basically sets up itself once you turn it on. I am very excited to see what is yet to come.

If ur a gamer then this thing will not disappoint
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had the ps2 and the ps3 and started playin first person shooters like battlefield and call of duty back during the call of duty mw2 days and this console has stepped it up and takin things to a whole other level....the colors and smoothness it operates are ridiculous and the features such as visiting w friends while playin a complete different game is a AWESOME feature as well as being able to go to work and turn ur system on via ur phone and purchasing a game or movie and it will download it and prepare it for u to get home then it goes back to Stand by mode til ur ready....that feature is INSANE!!!! Also the controller to this thing is way better then it's previous brother haha...but now with that being said the only downfall to this console that I've seen so far is the use of headsets....I have 2 previous headsets that r sony playstation brands but they "are not supported" and no one including best buy or gamestop or any other gaming store can tell you of one that will work....which I find HIGHLY RIDICULOUS!!!! So I have $250 in headsets and one being I bought 2 months ago for $150 that will now not work.....but I'm sure their will b a headset come along soon enough so other then that fact if you r thinking of buying this product and haven't made up ur mind yet then ur wasting time....go ahead and do it already!!!! No way u can b unhappy w it.....I hope this post helps someone standing on the edge tryin to decide if Microsoft or sony is the way to go....sony son....no questions.....thanks and see ya there....

True gaming console!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Xbox one is great I'm not a hater but the price difference and the specs are much better. Better specs means better graphics. The ps4 is just better for the games and the ps4 has a lot of exclusive.

Next Gen Lives Up To Hype
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Everything from the XMB (Sony's Xross (Cross) Media Bar) to the design of the hardware and controller has been revamped and looks great. The internet browser is finally fast and actually usable as well. The system is geared toward social media integration and even the controllers feature a share button that can upload your commented game play for the last 15 minutes of game play. Just a heads up as well. When you set it up, it will need a system update immediately before signing in to the PSN and it takes about 15-20 minutes to complete.

A must have for any true gamer
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been playing my PS4 for a week now. I absolutely love everything about it. The OS runs smoothly. Multitasking is a breeze. The new controller feels great in my hands and does not feel awkward at all. Live streaming is one of the most amazing things that can be done. It is so easy to live stream too. Sony hit one out of the ballpark with this console. I only wish the controller battery was a bit stronger.

Amazing!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have loved my PS4 and battlefield 4 on it has been beautifully fun and gorgeous. The friends list and overall interface has been improved and made more accessible. I love the lights that glow on the controller and on the top of the console to indicate what my ps4 is doing. I love the amount of free games and apps available at launch. I recommend Resogun to everyone! Soo happy that I got this console. Game on!

Greatness has finally arrived!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Not much needs to be said. The year's most anticipated product has finally arrived and Sony is due for a resurgence. What you have here is the most powerful and versatile console ever made! That's not an understatement. Sony has been great, but due to their cockiness they've made a few missteps with the PS3. They chose convoluted exotic hardware that was hard for non-1st party studios to fully utilize. For that reason, I most mostly an Xbox fan last gen because their ports were almost always better. Even though I owned both, my PS3 was used primarily for 1st party games and as a multimedia device. This time around, thanks to Mark Cerny and listening to many top tier developers, Sony has learned their lesson and has opted for a powerful box made with AMD and based on PC architecture. A box that is far greater than the sum of its parts. We're talking 8GB of GDDR 5 RAM. That's 16 times the memory of the PS3! What does that mean in layman's terms? It means that the system is a beast and will run incredibly detailed games at up to full HD 1080p 60fps. If you've seen what Rockstar and Naughty Dog has achieved on the PS3's paltry hardware (I'm focusing mostly on the RAM), imagine. What can be done in the near future with the PS4. For only $400 bucks it's a steal. It's $100 less than the Xbone and for a system that is actually more powerful. It's true, look it up. At the end of the day the system you choose will come down to the games and personal preference. Either way, you can't go wrong with the PS4.

Great next gen gaming experience.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am a Playstation fan, and love that Sony allowed us to choose to buy a camera accessory separate from the system itself, helping lower the price $100 vs. the XBox One. The controller is very comfortable and the new interface on the system is a marked improvement over the PS3. Please be aware the Playstation 4 is not backwards compatible, so hold on to your Playstation 3 if you have a library of games for it.

I love my PS4
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love my PS4. Almost everything about it is awesome. The graphics are amazing. I can't believe how real games look. The interface is close to the same as a PS3 so the home is easy to navigate. The new controller feels really good. The only thing I found lacking was the PS4 Camera. Unless they make some improvements or have more content don't bother with the purchase of the camera. But definitely buy the PS4.

Great gaming system
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far my experience with the PS4 has been awesome! The graphics are amazing as I stated above! In my opinion PS4 has righted all their wrongs so far from the ps3 that were inferior to the xbox such as the controller, ease of use, and overall gaming experience. I think the ps4 has an excellent chance to win the battle for this console generation. Thank-you Sony for bringing me back home after a 6 year hiatus.

built with a "games come 1st"
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the 1st system I've ever bought on launch day (I go back to the Atari days). Part of me feels like I could have waited 6 months to a year until the truly "next gen" games arrive, as most games currently out are barely noticeably better looking than my old 360. Occasionally the PS4 Assassins Creed takes my breath away, but often I catch myself wondering if it would be any different on my old Xbox. If you're like me and don't care for shooters like Battlefield, Kill zone or Call of Duty... you might want to hold off a few months as those are roughly 40% of the popular games currently available. I've also seen some expected new system bugs, like the audio dropping after waking the system from power save and the time it takes to switch between apps occasionally swings wildly. I'm also miffed that the YouTube and HBOGO apps are nowhere to be seen. Having said that, I'm very happy with my purchase. The controller is near perfect. From layout to response and feel, I couldn't be happier with the newest Dualshock. It is also a powerhouse system that takes up remarkably little shelf space. The bulky power supply brick is thankfully gone, completely hidden inside the system. This may end up being one of my favorite little perks, as I often travel with a game system. All in all, it seems like a very polished system with boatloads of potential, especially if your interested in social gaming, as connecting with friends is incredibly easy and fast (assuming the Sony servers aren't over run).

Better than I imagined
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been a playstation owner since the days of corded controllers and memory cards. With each iteration playstation has improved and the PS4 is no exception. By no means am I Sony Fanboy, I have owned an Xbox and a 360, but I have always found myself enjoying my playstation more. The new menu/operating software is incredibly responsive and intuitive. Switching between apps is quick and simple. You can instantaneously switch from games/media to the home screen and jump into something else. The new Netflix app looks great. Currently the playstation store is lacking in product offerings but that will grow as next-gen climbs out of infancy. The controller is solid and feels more ergonomic than previous playstation controllers. The thumb sticks gave a lip around the top which make them easier to maneuver and keep from slipping off. The R2 and L2 triggers curve away from the controller making them easier to pull. The touch pad is a cool feature that I hope will be incorporated more in future games. The controller has a audio jack built in to connect the included mic/ear piece for online gaming (and the included mic that looks fairly cheap isn't half bad). My only complaint is that the charging cord is still relatively short, but can be fixed with a USB extension cable. Overall, the PS4 is an excellent product. From the moment you turn it on you will be captured by its orchestral background music and enamored by its beautiful menus. If you are a fan of sony, you will not be disappointed.

no issues
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm not a big gamer so can't really comment on that; my boyfriend's the gamer. The sound from the controller's speaker is clear and loud enough, the changing light color is useful and cool too. We haven't had any issues installing games or playing dvds through the console. The cord to connect the controller to the console could be longer, so you can still use it when it's battery gets low and be a comfortable distance from your tv. other than that no complaints here
