Customers are saying
Customers express satisfaction with the PlayStation 4's impressive graphics, enjoyable controller, and ease of use. Many also praise its performance and find it to be a good value for the price. However, some customers point out the lack of backwards compatibility with previous PlayStation consoles and disappointingly short battery life of the controller. The absence of a bundled camera was also noted as a drawback by some users.

PS4 is awesome.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's well worth it. The new OS is sleek and fast, The new controller is comfortable, triggers are better on it, Controller doesn't feel cheap like the PS3 one. I only played 3/4 games I bought and the graphics are phenomenal on them, especially Battlefield 4. The games load up super fast and the Social Media features are great too. I'm super happy with my purchase.

Just as expected...
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a beast of a system. I was able to pick up a PS4 on launch night at BB in Pflugerville, and then when I got in my car, I was able to buy a second off Amazon in less than 30 seconds later! Awesome day. The console is sexy next to my 60" Panny Plasma. VERY quiet operation and the new interface is soooooo fluid, especially in the PS Store. HIGHLY recommended.

every thing i expected from a next gen system
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sony nailed it here, its fast sleek and the new controller feels amazing. if I really had to complain about anything is the tad weak launch line up it would have been amazing to see the new Rachet and Clank and GT6 be PS4 launch titles or maybe even a port of the Last of Us but over all I can't complain too much because u know other amazing titles are on the way.

Sound hardware at a reasonable launch price.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm primarily a PC gamer, due to the small size of consoles typically being a death toll, and how they can eat your discs, and just wanting to play the best looking/running version of a release title. This system runs well, mostly cool(as long as laid flat, contrary to what Sony would have you believe trying to sell stands), and has user upgradeable hard drives installed. The down side is that you are still unable to do what both its competitors can now do, which is use external storage for games loading, as well, have native bluetooth headset support. But to not get ahead of ourselves, neither of the other 2 major console offerings can do that either. I've never been sold on having to use a headset tethered to my controller, and to me, that is the biggest downside for me. The controller feels better, accomodates larger hands with less discomfort, and the downloads and PSN overall run a lot more streamlined than the now current last gen PS3. This is by no means next gen, but I will refer to it only as current gen, as PC will always push the boundary of potential and best looking platform, as long as devs don't screw it over. But, with less restraints on memory for graphics and processing, it's a huge step in the right direction.

Much better than xbox one
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The only thing going for the xbox is titanfall. Otherwise, ps4 wins in all other categories especially price wise. Its $100 cheaper and used games are available.

Best gaming console
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far I'm loving the PS4. It's new added features, new OS. I like the ability to broadcast your gameplay thru videos (live stream). The dual shock 4 is also very unique. It's comfortable and slightly bigger than a PS3. Only downfall is the battery charge lasts around 8-9 hours. Not as good as the Dualshock 3 which lasted 30 hours. Overall it's a good system.

The PS4 IS Great
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The PS 4 over the last week has been awesome. It is fast to move through menus and into the PS Store, apps, or games once they have been installed. The system comes with tons of free extras once you redeem the free PS plus code in the box (there were also 7 day codes in 3 of the 5 games I purchased). The updated controller has an amazing feel that I think many will appreciate once in hand. Also my white PS Vita now has new life. The remote play WORKS perfectly. Every game fully supports it according to the boxes (not on the box for NBA 2K, but I hear it also supports remote play). I have used remote play for Kill zone and had no lag in the game play. The apps included are good and plenty for my particular needs, Hulu, Amazon and Netflix with a few others I may use. I have Direct TV for most of my TV watching and NFL and College Football addiction. The games so far all look amazing and I have noticed no issues with any of them. Currently I have Kill zone, Assassin's Creed 4, Need For Speed Rivals, Madden 25, and NBA 2K14. I have not yet played them all but Kill zone and NFS Rivals have both been great. I can't wait for the developers to ramp up and start unleashing the power of the PS4, there should be some great games in the pipeline for 2014 and 2015.

Great console with great launch titles.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought the Playstation 4 the night it released. After doing the initial firmware update, my console shut off and on and repeated until I couldn't turn it back on. After unplugging it for 10 minutes, I set it up again and it has been working relatively well since then. Problems like this are expected when you're one of the first to get it and I kind of expected to be one of those unfortunate few; fortunately I wasn't as unfortunate as others (who bought one that didn't work). Start up and load times are quick. Aside from Battlefield 4, my games don't freeze or crash. The User Interface could still use some work in regards to finding the appropriate actions and organization, but I'm sure that'll be continuously worked on. It's still a very smooth experience. Most notable is that if you don't buy a game with your PS4, you'll at least be getting a packaged code for 30 days of PS Plus which you could then use to download and play Contrast and Resogun. I haven't touched Contrast yet, but Resogun is a very awe-inspiring and challenging arcade shooter. Even if it's not your kind of game, it's fun to show off to friends. Obviously this console is not perfect, but within the next day or year, I'm sure it'll give you everything you look for in a gaming machine.

Superior Design - Much better software than PS3
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have previously owned a PS3 and a 360 and now I own a PS4 and a Xbox One. This generation is the same story as last generation - PS4 has superior hardware while ONE has superior software. Though playstation took a GIANT leap forward with the PS4 in terms of software - social integration, media bar, and chatting with friends - XBox still makes it easier to communicate with friends and integrates TV and other media much easier. The hardware on the playstation is beautiful. Small, beautiful design, which my wife appreciates. RECHARGEABLE battery in the controller (I can't believe xbox is still using alkaline in 2013) - PS4 has no power brick - ONE still has that ugly power brick! Early adopters just need to be patient because there is a ALOT of updating in the beginning. You need to download a solid 1GB worth of updates as soon as you plug it in. At least its just Sony making things work right. I'm very pleased with my purchase overall and would highly recommend it.

Great system.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this system. It is a major upgrade from the PS3 I would say. I thought at first that the controller would be a problem but when I unboxed it, it amazed me quite a bit. Everyone has their own preferences but I really think that if you wanted to know if you get the PS4 or Xbox One, I would have to say get the PS4. It also doesn't come with a big brick.

Awesome for Playstation newbies and veteran fans
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been a Playstation user since the very first one. Playstation 4 exceeded my expectations with its incredible interface and user-friendliness. The controller is better than ever and puts the XBox controller to shame. Based on the sheer greatness of this machine, I would love to pre-order the Playstation 5, but only to see Playstation's next big thing.

true gamer
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As of right now n from what I've they're getting the best review. This console is for the gamers who love playing games n the freedom of being in control of there gaming experience. With xbox one's rules , restrictions n regulations i find it hard to believe i will enjoy my time being watched 24/7 by a camera n being under surveillance every 24 hours plus most of there exclusive games will come to playstion later anyway so i feel i will not be missing anything important. As of now from what hear ps4 is the greater all around deal . Hopefully xbox one will change they're policies n i hope both consoles deliver upon release. Once set in some i will give another official review.

Awesome Hardware
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I like the design of the machine itself, I like the UI much better than the PS3's, my only concern is the dual analog sticks on the controller feel rather flimsy. Of the 3 games I played(CoD,Knack&Resogun),while not totally blown away with the graphics there were parts in each that did make me take notice.I don't regret buying this system & wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to others!

Simple statistics.....
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It really comes down to statistics and beside that controller design is a nit pick of mine....the ps4 hss stronger hardware the online network is free....bluray....wifi...bluetooth...etc is all bundled into ps3 and ps4...free or included in the platform cost........xbox u had to buy the wifi adapter...hd dvd add on which was a fail....xbox live $$$$...batteries for remotes etc.....reminds me of Microsoft Windows get a pc but have to buy this n that antivirus & ms word...playstation is solid and has always been legit financially speaking.....regardless of all that they are the top platforms of any gaming piece & you like which ever you were raised on

The next gen is here and in full effect.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The next generation console is everything I hope for. The controller feels much better than the previous console. The interface is much smoother and faster. It doesn't need to be said that the graphics are much improved. Over all I love the console but I think the hard drive should have been a TB seeing how you have to download everything to the system.

Best Gaming Console
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Major improvement for Sony. They have a good bit of games but still lacking some games at launch that had to be push backed. They will be worth the wait. PS4 is very simple to use and with the console you get free 30 days of PS PLUS, a $10 psn gift card and free 30 days of Sony entertainment. Fast load times as well. All around great gaming console.
