Customers are saying
Customers express satisfaction with the PlayStation 4's impressive graphics, enjoyable controller, and ease of use. Many also praise its performance and find it to be a good value for the price. However, some customers point out the lack of backwards compatibility with previous PlayStation consoles and disappointingly short battery life of the controller. The absence of a bundled camera was also noted as a drawback by some users.

An amazing leap over the old generation!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.the movies on blueray are SO much better. The darks and deep blues are processed correctly and don't over load tv's as I have seen in the PS3. The games have amazing textures, brilliant colors, and the lighting is superb and well written thus far. Also take a look at clouds of dust and puffs of smoke - VERY good use of the processing power indeed! Netflix looks better and operates smoother - I can finally see distinctions in contrast! Setting up the Vita and phone apps are quick, simple, and work VERY well. What I don't like is that there are still some small glitches and I would like to see some minor improvements on the console side itself. Though the menu is easy enough to pick up and an improvement over the PS3, it still seems clunky to me. Also, it would be nice if the option to disconnect the remotes were easier to get to since the batteries don't last as long as it's predeccesor's. Sadly the standby time versus shutting down seems to be pretty much the same from what I can see, but at least you can charge the controllers without always drawing power. All the updates and changes I'd like to see can be changed and altered with firmware, so I'm not too worried! It's a solid system and I am thoroughly enjoying it!

Exactly what I expected from the next gen
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pre-ordered the PS4 over the Xbox One because I liked the aspect of the games coming in the future. Additionally I've always been an Xbox gamer and I was ready to try the other side of the fence. My only complaint so far is the lack of interesting launch titles. I would much rather prefer an Xbox One at this point with Forza 5, Ryse: Son of Rome, etc, however that is currently the only reason why I'd prefer an Xbox One over the PS4. Don't listen to all the complaints from people about the PS4 so far. The vast majority of us have been too busy playing to provide positive feedback. The bricking issue is very small scale and none of the 20+ people I know had any issues like this. Additionally, the system is really fast so don't listen to the people talking about loading issues. From power to boot is < 15 seconds, the menus are all quick and its really fast to get in game such as Knack. So far I haven't seen any of the downfalls I noticed on the PS3. Honestly, you can't go wrong if you get the PS4 or the Xbox One, it comes down to preference. I know some point in the future I will have both. Also, biggest plus so far, Dual Shock 4 feels amazing in my hands and it even charges while the system is completely off.

Wish I could have gave 5 stars ...
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wish I could have given the ps4 5 stars. It has everything I was looking for in a next gen console. Pristine graphics, minimal to no load times, seamless UI, and in my opinion, a better launch line-up then Xbox one ! (unless you care about weak kinect games). The only reason I couldnt give the five stars is because two days ago, the console started with the blinking blue light and would not turn on. Best Buy & Sony have been very accommodating in exchanging the console and it should be swaped out within a week. Other then that, it would be a 5-star system.

Excellent system with potential
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The system itself is an excellent and powerful gaming system. It's small, attractive and quiet. The only quirks I have so far which will most likely change at some point are the headphones are less than stellar, and the offerings on PSN are slim. Other than that, the retail games like COD Ghosts are excellent . The multitasking is refreshing and the Live on Playstation app is unbelievable. You can literally preview a game you are interested in before buying. The Playstation 4 definitely has big potential and I can't wait to see what Sony has in store for us.

Sony back to form!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I preordered my system very late because I was torn between PS4 and Xbox One. I'm sure Xbox One is a great system but I'm a long time fan and user of every since PS product back to PS1. What I can say about PS4. Sony is back to what matters...games. This round it's game first and features second. That doesn't mean they're aren't there. I've always admired the comfort of Xbox controller now that Sony redesigned DS4. I no longer miss Xbox gamepad. The GUI is straightforward and very easy now to navigate. All the little features that appeared on rival console can now be done on PS4. I love the speed, the look and feel of my PS4. If you're a Playstation fan you can't go wrong with the PS4. Another note there's one TV in my bedroom and with Sony remote play feature. I don't have to play tug of war over the TV. Remote play performance is also unreal. Some games have nice controls mapping to the front and back touch panels. Great buy.

PS4 is ehh so far
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. There was never a doubt of which console to get. I've had every Sony Playstation and never have been interested in the XBOX in any of its iterations. PS3 had one distinct advantage over 360 which was no online membership required. This is no longer the case with PS4. Sony includes a booklet with 30 days free membership to PS Plus and Music Unlimited, also it includes a $10 voucher for any PS3 to PS4 upgrade titles. So that'll get you your first online experience. But with titles like NBA Live, FIFA, Madden, and NBA 2K14 that should cover the sports gaming community for awhile. But the rest of the genres are short on titles. Out of the box setup is simple; hdmi cable, power, and a USB cable to charge the controller. It was a pretty typical experience the graphics and sound were improved but nothing mind blowing. The camera purchased separately is where you see what else the console is capable of and it's potential.Facial recognition for log on and voice activated control of the console. It also no longer serves as a media server. No more USB music/video transfer or streaming from your home computer. If you have a PS3 for those needs you might want to keep it. Overall I should've waited. For the price drop for the titles. I love playstation but this time I'm not impressed Sony.

Great gaming system with slight defect
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I made a great choice on the PS4 over the X-Box One. The games looks great and the new UI is much improved. However, my system is one of those that is experiencing random controller disconnects unless the controller is located within about 5 feet of the console. It's playable and will keep the system until Best Buy receives another shipment.

So happy we got a PS4
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We obtained our PS4 on launch date, and also picked up the camera and two games. Then I also bought a PS Vita and another game. Our kids are very happy with the games. The unit is quieter than our old first generation PS3 by a factor of at least 4, if not 10... well, its much quieter. The games look phenomenal and we're very happy with it.

Best PlayStation yet (obv) :)
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Product is fantastic. Graphics are the most life-like ever, and when the developers get a better handle on how to code for the console, I believe that the games will be eye-popping. The performance is great, and it's much quieter than the PS3 (original w/emotion chip).

Excellent Features, Bargain Price, Needs More Game
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The biggest gripe anyone can make about the PS4 is that it is currently lacking in original games content of the AAA variety. While Sony has been generous to indie developers, it's hard to justify a new system for that alone. We want the next generation to introduce us to spectacle, to see and do things that we can't do on any other platform. At present, the main AAA original games are Knack and Killzone. While Killzone is certainly impressive visually, it's hard to be visually wowed by Knack. This is an issue that will change, but when many of the current games are slightly crisper versions of games available on other platforms, it's hard to justify the price tag. Speaking of which, the price tag is utterly reasonable and fair considering what's in the box. As with the last generation, we are in a season of launch, which is a way of saying "almost but not yet" in terms of seeing the potential of what the system can do. Controller is great, potential is there, let's see where things go. And regardless of what system you enjoy your games on, we should all be grateful to get so much packed into 1 small box in our living room to provide us with hours and hours of entertainment.

PlayStation 4 is a great system, not just games!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I thought long and hard about PlayStation 4 and it's competition. I pre-ordered early and patiently waited for the fun to begin. The great graphics, and interface and a fantastic controller worked well out of the box and I haven't stopped playing! Looking forward to new games as they come out and all the online connetions and fun to come.

It exterior looks real nice and the graphics are just amazing. However, when i brought it home to turn it on the first time it crashed on with the blue pulsing light. When i plug it out of the back and turned it back on it worked fine. SO, there needs to be some improvements made. i have been using it for 2 weeks and i haven’t experience the pulsing blue light of death since. So in conclusion, this is great system and i would recommend it anyone who wants to buy it

Awesome
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The PS4 is does not disappoint when it comes to performance and ease of set-up and logging into your current PSN account. Only draw back I can see is that its no longer free to play games like Call of Duty online for free. The updated controller is awesome and I can't wait to see what games developed solely for this console will be like.

The Ps4 is great gaming console Great!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love the Ps4, been a sony guy from day one. The console is a beast and the controller just feels like it's perfect for the hands. As a playstation plus member you get your money worth when it comes to that with sony. The ui is smooth and fast and not cluttered. Graphics are amazing and online is stable. The only thing i don't like is the online community doesn't use their mics and the lack of apps such as ESPN,HBO,TWC,NFL,FOX sports, and even YouTube! sony has to come with it. Sony went forward and backwards , but still the PS4 is amazing. I

Almost everything I had hoped for
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got this unit and really like the new controller and user interface. It's blazing fast and the ability to setup a download cue from the PlayStation app on your phone is cool. What disappoints me is while this is a next gen system, it lacks several features it's predecessor (PS#) had. You can't play CD's? Come one Sony, tighten up! No usb drive support, You can't play mp3's? Hopefully these are things that will be corrected in an update. (Fingers crossed) Overall it's still a good system with a good lineup of games coming over the next year.

Love it!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love my PS4. Wifi capabilities, easy to hookup, simple to use once you get the hang of it. Free Netflix apps, huluplus, etc. The only issue I have is the frequent updates these days, but I guess that comes with the territory.

the perfect system
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A few years ago I bought my kids a Wii U , believing EA and 2K would support the system like they said they would. I primary only play sports games and by the next year I realised only Nintendo was going to make games for their system. So I needed to get another console. The Xbox one and ps4 are fairly even. For me it came down to the MLB franchise and The Order 1886. Nothing against the x box one and I'm sure one day I'll have one PS4 won by a nose. Get it you won't regret it.
