I am an old school gamer and it took me a long time to warm up to the Playstation in general. But the PS3 changed everything for me and the PS4 just confirms what I have always know to be true. The PS4 is the best gaming console to be had! The fact that the XB1 only runs most of its games on 720p is a down grade. In a day and age that we all want to run everything at its highest resolution XB1 brings out a console that is inferior to our 1080p TVs. I have been running some #s and it's cutting the 1080p down by 33.33333 % just to make it into a 720p. That means that on the XB1 they are taking the image and stretching it by more that 33% to upscale it to 1080p. That is the reason the PS4 looks so much more detailed and one of my many reasons for supporting Sony. They are not willing to cut me short and offer me an inferior product!!!!

The new controller for the ps4 is great. The touch pad is integrated in to games making it an asset that you did not know you were missing. As for the system, easy to setup, very sleak in look and seems to run quieter than my old ps3. Overall great system and I am looking forward to years of fun spent playing.

The PS4 is a great gaming console. It is much better than the PS3 which was great as well. I am still getting used to the new menu system. It is like the PS3 but different at the same time. I think there are a few too many steps to be able to do certain things, but the speed of it makes it ok. Graphics are really good, the controller is nice as well. It has a speaker on it and also comes with headphones. Setting up was pretty easy and the quality of the system seems sturdy. If you are a PS3 user and enjoy it, then upgrading to the PS4 will be for you. If you are an Xbox fan, then I say either take a chance on something new or stick with the Xbox one. I have both PS3 and 360 and always felt the PS3 was the superior console. Remote play with the Ps Vita is great. If I want to go lay down in bed and still play my PS4 games then I can do that now with the remote play feature. I think with future updates and more games coming out, I think this will be the system to get. Verry pleased with it.

I pre ordered this product and couldn't wait for it to come out and when it did I wasn't disappointed. Its an amazing system, and simple to use. The games are amazing ranging from a all types of genres and since it just got out the system has a lot of room to expand and I can't wait to see where it's heading!

The PS4 is an engineering marvel. Smaller and lighter than the other consoles and soooooo powerful. Looks sweet and the included dual shock 4 controller is excellent....the new touch pad and speaker is such a great addition. Looking forward to many years of great gaming on the system...nice work again, Sony!

The playstation 4 has meet and exceeded my expectations. The controller feels so much better for shooting games. Some that playstation controllers always felt awkward with in previous generations. The menu and user interface is fast. Downloading things seem to continue regardless of what your doing unlike Xbox 360. The system it's self runs very quit, especially compared to my Xbox 360 slim. Party chat is awesome though the head set that comes with the console is a bit too quite and there seems to be no way to adjust the volume. But it's better than blu tooth. Being able to share game videos and snap shoots is awesome too. Posted a video on face book and it works perfectly. Picture quality is great even on my old 52 inch Samsung I got like six years ago, no need to upgrade or anything. Overall very pleased with the console.

If you are looking for PS3-PS4 crossover; it's a visual change and a great one! But... There are some drawbacks. No backward compatibility. If you enjoyed some games on PS3, you don't have them on PS4. The Last of Us being a big blow to the ego for me. The music unlimited sucks. You get a 30 day free trial, so make what you want of it but it stops playback or quits songs about every 5-30 minutes. (I know it's not my connection I have a 75MBps download with over 100 upload). I've bought several movies on this system and the quality is worse than watching on Netflix over a slow connection! It's constantly downgrading quality and interrupting playback. Nerflix doesn't even have the same issues! Overall... I am currently dissatisfied with my purchase. I was expecting, at a minimum, better than PS3 response and functionality. I've got less than that and fewer games to distract me. I wouldn't not recommend the console based on its first two weeks but it is indicative of a systemic problem. Will the XBox one be different or plagued by similar problems?

The ps4 has the hardware spec sheet to last for a few years. The games look great and the new controller is amazing. The only downsides are hdmi/optical out for audio and the 500GB HDD. I immediately swapped in a TB and am wondering if I should have gone for more. The game installs can be massive (30GB+).

I waited at midnight at one of the Best Buy locations, I eagerly ran this home. Connection was simple and the games were beautiful. though maybe some ports at launch date. Kill Zone is fantastic. This console is definitely a tough one to beat.

The ps4 is very easy to set up and every thing looks nice. The only thing it's really lacking are the launch games, I know sony never has good launch games but that's really the only lacking part of the system. Also the conttoller is rechargeable but the battery won't last more the 2 or 3 play sessions.

I love my ps4 the graphics are amazing the new interface is great u can play games while downloading stuff in the backround u got voice chat the new dualshock 4 is way better than the dualshick 3 share gameplay right from the controller u can have up to 2000 friends now and a lot of more great features.

The Playstation 4 system is a step above its predecessor. You didn't have cross-game chat before, the graphics are better, and you can stream straight to your game channel. I've been listening to Music Unlimited while chatting with friends overseas, at the same time downloading material from the Store, and playing Multiplayer features of the games I picked up at launch. It's a great system! The only con(s) are the hiccups some people are noticing with error messages, network connections, and simple user error related problems. With anything else that costs $400, you should check out your machine upon opening the box. Make sure everything looks great before you start plugging and playing. HDMI ports can get bent, cords could be missing, and make sure you charge your controller too! When compared to the PS3, the user interface isn't as friendly. Downloads and updates can get confusing when you first use it. But like anything else new, it just takes time getting used to it. Don't be afraid of change...especially with the PS4 - it's great!

Absolutely perfects. It runs quick and efficiently and it isn't loud after thirty minutes like the last system was. I just can't wait till more people buy it and build up the gaming community

The console looks great. Great looking games that are in 1080p. NBA2k has amazing detail especially on a HDTV which is the only way to play a system like this. The user interface is a vast improvement over the PS3. Takes a little long to get setup, but after that... order some pizza, get a cooler of your favorite drink and be prepared to spend hours playing something that looks terrific. I am a fan of this product and can't wait for the games to catchup to what this console can really do.

I was expecting the PS4 to be an upgrade in graphics but not such a significant upgrade. The user interface is much easier to use than the PS3 and the controller is a huge upgrade. Highly recommended if you can get your hands on one. Can't wait to see what the future holds for the technological marvel.

Since this device has already been reviewed to death, let me simply say that if you are a PS3 owner, you will immediately be blown away by the improved graphics and performance of the PS4. I know many devices put out an upgrade and it is hardly any different than the earlier model. That's not the case with the PS4. It is an amazing step up! See it for yourself and when one is available, grab it!

Sony has really done am outstanding job with the new Playstation 4 ! The new DualShock 4 controller...oh man, it feels so good when you hold it and I just can't describe how much better it is than the previous version. I like the size of the unit itself, the angled look is cool and functions for keeping the unit at a moderate temperature. I didn't notice any extra noise levels to alarm me. The user interface is much, much faster than anything on the PS3, it just flows like water. My current favorite title is FIFA 14, I'm a big soccer fan so this will be my game of choice for quite some time. You will need to practice, otherwise be prepared to get smoked from not knowing the new options for defending and keeping the opponents from tackling you. I'm surprised by how good the Crunchyroll app is, and of course Netflix and Hulu work as advertised. The one thing Sony needs to do is have some blockbuster games as soon as possible. The PS4 has a lot of potential and they have only scratched the surface of what it can do. So it wouldn't hurt to wait just a few more months for Watchdogs, Infamous 2 and who knows what else to come out !

I like the controller...the addition of the touchpad is great...looks cool too. I also like the positioning of the buttons on the controller, it's easier to use on shooting games. The console seems quieter. The graphics is much sharper and clearer. Overall, the system is a nice upgrade from the PS3.

For 399 you have a high power pc and it's 100 cheaper then the competition throw in the cross play functionality with the PlayStation vita and you can play your ps4 from anywhere as long as your on a wifi connection the ps4 UI has new look it's a mix of the ps3 xmb bar with live tiles The ps4 now has party chat and it works The games look awesome!!! The next gen is def here and the transition hasn't gone this smoothly before, being a psn member already I logged right into my account and was ready to go! Minimal setup required, there is however an overload of info presented, some sort of tutorial would have been nice, maybe with trophies ! Ha but otherwise the user interface is wonderful, those familiar with the XMB of ps3 Weill be right at home since it is similar but ultimately much prettier. The streaming integration is simple and easy to use, some promised features are not available at launch like suspending hard while in sleep mode but definitely the sys still has a lot to offer! Focusing more on the gamer, if you consider yourself a gamer the ps4 has everything you want in a next gen sys at launch! Includes party chat this time around, and ps plus is still worth the purchase with many games announced to roll out in the future, the best thing is if you're already a plus member it rolls right into the ps4 there has never been a better time than now to be a gamer!
