Customers are saying
Customers express satisfaction with the PlayStation 4's impressive graphics, enjoyable controller, and ease of use. Many also praise its performance and find it to be a good value for the price. However, some customers point out the lack of backwards compatibility with previous PlayStation consoles and disappointingly short battery life of the controller. The absence of a bundled camera was also noted as a drawback by some users.

Die hard 360 fan going back to Sony
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was a Sony fan for both Playstation and Playstation 2 generations but was disappointed with PS3 so I never used it much and primarily used Xbox 360 last gen. However, playstation 4 from the start has been amazing. From the reveals, to the titles, all the way up until launch, it's been an amazing ride. The console itself is very sleek looking but try to to handle it too much since it absorbs grease off your fingerprints like a sponge. The controller for the ps3 was my main issue and I could not find a good third party remote to satisfy my need a for comfort and use. The new Dualshock 4 has improved on everything I hated about the previous model. It's analog sticks feel much better and the triggers actually feel like triggers, similar to the 360. The UI is very fast and easy to use. Never had to look up a manual to see how to find a certain feature I needed to use. It's been a week since launch and have had no problems at all. Very happy I picked this up a launch. This console has nowhere to go but forward from here.

Fantastic Addition to Gaming
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It seems like Sony is best with even numbers. The PlayStation was good; the PlayStation 2 was great; the PlayStation 3 eventually became great but started poorly; and the PlayStation 4 is the best of them all. The console is an amazing improvement on the PS3, but it has one design flaw. Two stands are in the middle, rather than placing them all in the corners. So if you push one corner, the console wobbles. Otherwise, it's smaller than the PS3 and looks sleek. The interface takes a minute getting used to, but it's so much better than the PS3. It's simple and intuitive, much like the PlayStation 2 was. Right now, you cannot organize your library, but since the console is young, this isn't a problem yet. The controller is brilliant. It's slightly larger than the PS3's controller, and it has some great features. Right now, the touch pad is more of a gimmick (Killzone: Shadow Fall makes great use of it), so I'm not holding my breath on that ever really taking off. However, the analog sticks and triggers are fantastic.

Best console this generation
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Over the last few years Sony has undeniably demonstrated that they are the absolute pinnacle of gaming. Games like Uncharted, The Last of Us, and Killzone show off what playstation is truly capable of, with The Last of Us looking as good if not better than the current XBone exclusives, one can only imagine what the next few years of gaming will bring, and there is absolutely no doubt that the best exclusive titles will be on the PS4. Check any ratings site and you will see that the highest rated games on the PS4 are mostly console exclusive, while the highest rated games on Xbox are cross platform. In short the PS4 is the clear winner in the next gen console war. Don't waste your money on Microsoft's cable box. Additionally Sony has upped their game with a redesigned controller which feels amazing in your hands. And what no one has mentioned is that the launch edition of the console comes with 30 days of free Playstation Plus, $10 for the Playstation Store, and a free 30 day trial of music unlimited. Awesome bonuses!

A rock solid, advanced console gaming system!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sony has learned a lot from the botched launch of the original PS3. This time out they priced the system at a reasonable $399.99. Didn't force you to buy an "NSA" edition webcam in order to use the system. Concentrated solely on the gamer experience. They didn't try to be a one stop, all purpose , entertainment center system. As a result you get a blazing fast console with the most advanced graphics processing available. When available, go out and buy one ASAP! I put a down payment on mine back in June and was psyched to pick it up on Day One! Haven't stopped playing since!

Great console however....
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The PS4 lives up to its promises. The machine itself is very beautiful to look at and easy to set up and use. The graphics are definitely wonderful but the leap from the ps3 is not huge. The launch library of games leaves a lot less to be desired. There are no wow games or must play console selling games out now nor will there be any in the next yr or so. So those that have not purchased a ps4 yet, don't worry, there is nothing that makes it a must own now but I'm sure it will soon.

Greatness is still waiting...but we're close!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Amazing graphics, party chat is very cool, very quiet, and aesthetically, it's very nice. The speaker in the controller is a bit gimmicky, but overall the DS4 is a more comfortable design with much improved sticks. The ridges around the perimeter hold on to your thumbs much better than the smooth DS3 sticks. Not supporting headphones/mic's, even Sony's own models, seems like a major oversight at launch. Otherwise, it runs flawlessly and I'm sure Sony will address the minor missteps.

Beautifully made console and controls
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The PS4 is all that was advertised and more. I really like the new user interface and the ability to move seamlessly between aps while keeping all open. The graphics during gameplay is outstanding through dedicated HDMI outputs - no "red, white and yellow "cables. No regrets with this purchase!

Winner of the console war
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. All of the people that gave this a one star are just xbox fans giving trash to playstation. Yes, playstation doesn't want to be able to watch tv but that is only because they are mainly focusing on games, unlike the xbox one. People don't buy gaming consoles to watch tv, they buy them to PLAY GAMES! However xbox decided to make tv more important instead of games. Ps4 could have done the same but they decided to focus on games. That's why they have better hardware specs, better games, and ultimately the win of the console war.

Good new console
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The PS4 is pretty solid. I got it on launch night and have been enjoying it since. Setup was fairly easy, though while going through the process my PS4 got hung up and had to be violently shut down (I had to unplug it as it became completely non-responsive, even to holding the power button down) but once I got it plugged back in, scanned, and booted back up it was fine. I got a few games: Battlefield 4, Assassin's Creed IV and Knack. I won't review the games here, but the graphics look pretty amazing. Every now and then you notice a drop in frame rate (varies from game to game) but overall the visuals are top notch. The updated Dualshock 4 is interesting. The most basic buttons haven't changed: square, circle, triangle, cross, L1/2/3, R1/2/3, d-pad, but they've added a light bar and a touch pad to the familiar design. The controller feels nice in your hands, and coming from a dualshock 3, I think the L1/2 & R1/2 buttons are somehow better laid out. They feel a little more responsive and like they tweaked exactly how the buttons sit. They almost seem to cradle your finger more, requiring less motion for trigger-pulling action, increasing speed and accuracy. GRANTED, this is a small shift, but I noticed. Overall, I'm impressed. I find new things to like about my PS4 on a daily basis. I think with patches they'll wind up adding in the things I'm missing, although to be honest, I'm not even missing them that much. It's a great console. You should get one. NOTE! Don't forget, if you're upgrading from PS3 to PS4, you're going to need to get PS+ to play your games online. I know, I know, it sucks that they're also moving to a subscription based online service, BUUUUUT, honestly, for $50 a year you get a ton of free games. Are you going to love EVERY game you get? Nope. But they always give away at least a few really good games every year. I think it's worth it.

Good gaming system for the price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased my system opening night after waiting in line for a ticket. Got it home, set it up in minutes and booted right up. Graphics are good, system is fast, no problems so far. Not use to not having a start button on remotes and still learning how to team up with friends online is not easy as it once was. Was hoping to have a system where discs were not needed, as my kids scratch my games. But maybe next generation. Now all I need to do is find someone to by my Gen 1 PS3

Excellent system at launch
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm writing this after owning the system about a week and I've been thoroughly impressed. Moves fast, interface isn't cluttered, love the controller.... I do wish it could stream media and had a few more app options (I.e. Hbogo).

Improved over all Playstation 3 aspects
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The PlayStation 4 is way more improved over the previous generation of the PlayStation 3 in many ways. One item that has been majorly overhauled is the Dualshock 4, Sony added a light bar, touch sensor, improved thumbsticks for precision, the triggers are now primary for shooters but have been designed like real triggers, more comfortable size for adult sized hands, share button. The console itself has some features that PlayStation 3 owners wanted all along like streaming to twitch/Ustream built in, capture gameplay up to 15 minutes, cross game chat with up to 8 people, download games in the background while you play them, faster in/out of cross media bar, 2,000 allotted friends on PSN, Stunning graphics at 1080p native resolution, great games. PlayStation plus is now required but well worth the 50 dollars a year, so far I have download 30 dollars of content for free and those two games(Contrast, and Resogun) which are phenomenal. Pick up the Sony PlayStation 4 console A.S.A.P!!!! See you on PSN!!

A must have for any die-hard Playstation fan!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I recently got this system earlier this morning at my local best buy after I heard that they were getting some more ps4's in limited stock and when I got there there was such a huge but minimum line that was neat and well organized. I was one of the lucky ones to get my hands on the ps4 and when I came home to hook it up to my 65 inch smart tv, I was blown away by the graphics and details that the system carries along with it as I played need for speed rivals for about five hours straight. When it comes to great gameplay, Sony never cease to keep gamers around the world entertained as they keep on making excellent games and systems for years to come.

Nice Camera, very easy setup! Needs more Games 4it
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall, very nice System!!! I've been a Playstation Gamer since PS1. The design is very simple, yet a leap over the PS3 in the Size, Graphical Power, Processing and Easy Access for Customization. I am a very happy Consumer and unlike the XBOX One, no Batteries needed for the Controllers!!!

PS4 ROCKS !!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the best console on the market period. I'm very happy I got the PS4 over Xbox one. I only paid $399.00 for it plus tax, and you get some free trials of services, Netflix, free games and $10.00 Credit from SONY for sony wallet. Love it. Assassins Creed Rocks too by the way. Also my old Playstation lasted 7.5 YR until it died. The best piece of equipment I ever bought I hope this will continue this trend.

Excellent gaming console
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The PS4 is easy to jump right into and loads of fun. Everything's smooth running and lightning fast. HD graphics look great. There are a limited number of games at this point and the Sony Music Unlimited subscription service is sketchy at times. But overall, this is a great gaming console.

PS4 = Better Games Better Graphics!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was able to get a PS4 at launch and it works perfectly. I am blown away by the graphics so far and the crazy part is that its only going to get better from here as developers begin to tap into the PS4's true power. Last gen all I played was xbox but it's clear that the PS4 is #1 this time around. VERY PLEASED AM I!
